Wilson is the back up striker and the player Abraham would be competing with. Southgate mostly uses Rashford as a wide forward and he'll probably keep that role because he's been good there for England.
if you really look at the long term prospects for the players, their positions means sooner or later they will be second fiddle as long as certain players are in the England team. Why be a backup to a striker like Kane which means you won't even start matches and only by God intervention will you even play than be first choice in Nigeria. Is there any rational reason at all.

[s]This debate is really a strawman argument. It's a no-brainer really.

At the risk of sounding overly pessimistic, Nigeria is really in a big mess. Sadly, most of us in this country can't see this: We're sitting on a time bomb and the future of this country is very bleak.

The brain drain is too appalling. Too many skilled, brilliant Nigerians are leaving the country at an alarming rate.

The human resource is any country's greatest asset, and Nigeria is losing hers alarmingly.

This country kills people's dreams; many citizens having realized this don't want to commit their future to the gruesome reality.

It's sad most Nigerians can't think deeply. They prefer to pray. Lol.

It's a lost cause [/s].
This has nothing to do with football what so ever.

So what advantage does it give if you are playing for Togo Guinea Bissau etc other than increasing your chances of getting injured at meaningless games when you should be resting

Joel Matip is an example
What advantage does starting for bournmouth/Watford gives than resting on the Man United/Chelsea bench?

Laporte is first choice for city but the coaches sometimes calls zouma and leaves Laporte. So untill he even has a cap we don't even know his place in the team.

Marcel Dessaily enter Ghana today, And Anthony Baffoe enter Ghana who do you think people will hail more.
Do you think anywhere in the world they will hail Rabah Madjer more than Zidane? even in the streets of Algeria

Rashidi Yekini a Nigerian legend no be on Nairaland people dey donate money to feed his mother? That is the great Rashidi, Not to talk of smaller players like Mobi Oparaku, Femi Opabunmi, Thompson Oliha, Isaac Semitoje
Stop giving examples of legends who had successful international careers. If Zidane had only one appearance for France will he be hailed as Rabah?

A starting striker from Chelsea will always be ahead of one for Bournemouth

Good enough or not. Many players who have had little or no international career has shown it's not always the best decision picking the bigger nation. Do you agree?

May be Xavi but definitely not Pirlo. Pirlo's greatest period of his career came as a deep lying playmaker in one of the
greatest counter attacking sides of all time in AC Milan. His PRECISE role was to launch
counters the entire game with the likes of Kaka and Shevchenko breaking with
pace, and he dominated Europe for a good few years doing that. Talking strictly about long
range passing, accuracy and releasing it quickly - Pirlo was superior to Scholes.
Both were on equal level. I won't rate Xavi on Pirlo level or even scholes because he was always system reliant unlike
Pirlo and scholes who would make an impact in any system and team. Pirlo is also superior to Xavi.

Over hyped Englishman that was part of a very good Manure team.

Oya come and tell us what Schole's exceptional attribute was. We can clearly see from his miserable output that in terms of goals, him no follow.

Assists nko, his highest output in a season was 8 assists.

U claimed the only exceptional attribute Lampard has is his goals and he ought to have more assists as a midfielder despite the fact that Lampard had double figure assists in four different seasons.

Now, tell us wot Schole's exceptional attribute is for him to be considered in the bracket of great midfielder because if na assist him no follow at all.

lol Stop it thorvik scholes was a brilliant player. He is only inferior to the OG's xavi and pirlo in Technique and control.
Scholes was just unlucky he was English. No point comparing him to players of them xavi who came from countries that value technique for a long time. By the time England caught up with the ball on the ground football- scholes was near the end of his career.

Put any decent midfielder in place of Scholes in that Manure team and Manure would have still perform as well as they did then under Ferguson.

Is this the same Scholes that is the premier league best midfielder or another one?
His highest output ever was in the 2003/2004 season with 14 goals+ 4 assists. He was only able to rack up such numbers only once in his playing career which proves that season was a fluke.

He obviously is over hyped. Only Manure fans will mention Paul Scholes in a discussion of Premier league midfield greats..
These are also Man u fans.

Xavi: Scholes is the best midfield player of the last 20 years

Marcello Lippi: “Paul Scholes would have been one of my first choices for putting together a great team - that goes to show how highly I have always rated him. He would have been one of the first players I’d have bought, given the chance”

Zinedine Zidane: "one of the biggest regrets of his career is not getting the chance to play with Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes."

Wenger: Fabregas can be the next Scholes

Micah Richards : "He's always in the right position, always seems to be at the end of the box when the ball drops in. The complete midfielder - when he's fit, he's the best. Some go missing but he's in the right place at the right time. He's my favourite player of all-time, unbelievable. If you give him a chance it's a goal, isn't it?"

Alan Shearer : "If you ask footballers to pick out the player they most admire, so many of them will pick Paul Scholes. He can tackle, and his passing and shooting is of the highest level. He’s the most consistent and naturally gifted player we’ve had for a long, long time."

Eidur Gudjohnsen : "I'm more an admirer of Paul Scholes than I am of Ronaldo. Ronaldo is a fantastic player, but he has 10 other great players around him every week...Scholes is one of the most complete footballers I've ever seen. His one-touch play is phenomenal. Whenever I have played against him, I never felt I could get close to him."

Edgar Davids : ""Every one of us (midfielders) is just trying to become as good as him. Everyone can learn from Paul Scholes."I'm not the best, Paul Scholes is."

Cesc Fabregas : "He is the one whose level I aspire to. He is the best player in the Premier League."

Patrick Vieira : "The player in the Premiership I admire most? Easy - Scholes."

Thierry Henry : "I can't understand why Scholes has never won the player of the year award. He should have won it long ago. Maybe it's because he doesn't seek the limelight like some of the other 'stars'.

Zinedine Zidane : "Scholes is undoubtedly the best midfielder of his generation."

Sam Allardyce : "There is not a better midfield player in the world."

Kevin Keegan : "What United have got that Chelsea haven't is Paul Scholes. I think he is different to anything else in English football."

Marcello Lippi : "Paul Scholes would have been one of my first choices for putting together a great team - that goes to show how highly I have always rated him. Scholes is a player I have always liked, because he combines great talent and technical ability with mobility, determination and a superb shot. He is an all-round midfielder who possesses character and quality in abundance. In my opinion, he's been one of the most important players for United under Sir Alex

Ray Wilkins : "I'm saddened because I think we as spectators, not only in this country but right through out Europe and the rest of the World, will be missing one hell of a footballer.

Gordon Strachan : "Paul Scholes has been the best England midfield player for 30-odd years. You'd probably have to go back to Bobby Charlton to find someone who could do as much as Scholes. When the ball arrives at his feet he could tell you where every player on that pitch is at that moment. His awareness is superb."

Veron while at Chelsea being asked in an interview who's the best english player : "Paul Scholes."

Laurent Blanc : "Scholes is the best English player. Intelligence, technique, strength... all the attributes are there. At Manchester United I saw what he could do on the training field. Phew!"
