@ the boldfaced. HardMirror, has it occurred to you that while these things are inexplicable to you, to some people, what appears to you as "mysteries" are termed "supernatural", and the powers of the supernatural have not just been felt or experienced but used?

You see, I'm not against anyone believing whatsoever gladdens his heart. But the thing is, arrogantly dismissing unknown knowledge based on grounds of unwillingness or not just privileged to learn such a knowledge doesn't in anyway translate to a non existence or explanation of the said knowledge, a good example is the existence of God. This is most true if we're to believe on the 'pluralistic' nature of knowledge, as believing the contrary depicts extreme self-deceit and an attitude of monopoly of knowledge.

Anyways, of course you're always at liberty to believe what suits your belly. That's why someone like me will always salute whatever opinion one holds. Cheers!

I appreciate and applaud your desire to serve the Lord. But understand something here.

"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day" (John 6:44). Few verses after, Christ said again, "This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father" (verse 65).

Understand that working in the service of God is in itself a GIFT- an appointment. Yes! It is what is commonly known as a "calling". Take a look at this analogy. In a country, the President or leader of the country calls- appoints- commissions those whom he wants to work with, never the other way round.

Here's the point. If you find yourself forcefully or grudgingly trying to please God, relax. No panicking; no worries. Go about your normal life, and try not to be like "John" who's actually a MOVER in your ministry. Note, it doesn't mean you should stop going to your church or stop praying, don't just try to be as fervent as others. And lastly, know that contrary to popular belief, today is not the only day for salvation. If God says He must called- draw you, before you can come to Him, wouldn't it be wise to wait for His call?

It is absolutely wrong for any law enforcement agency to arrest and detain without evidence and preparedness to charge d arrested person to court. That is very unwholesome practice packed with intimidation tactics to place any person at an unfair disdvantage.

I see people here baying for blood like wolves forgetting that in the eyes of the law, everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty and therefore entitled to goodwill and fair treatment. If you were really as smart as you think you are, your brain should have told you that it is impossible to include every little detail of all creation in the bible. With the minimal details included in the bible, you can see how big it is, then imagine the size of the book that will now contain the volume of details if God decided that every little detail must be included. If only the details of everything about Jesus' life while on earth were written in a book, you would need books more than the size of a house to contain them. God is not foolish to understand that human beings do not need unnecessary details and that is why only the most important details are recorded for want of space.

You that is talking, if they were to write down everything about your life so far in a book from the day you were born, do you think a book the size of your bedroom could contain every detail? Yet you want God to write down every detail about creation, Adam, Eve, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, Jesus, etc etc in a book that is small enough for you to read and carry about easily? I think the Op is really being unfair in his judgement, or simply ignorance of the bible. I've also always maintained that it is impossible and needless to include everything in the bible other than what it was meant to served. A purpose few have clearly understood.

First, I don't understand the rational behind scrutinizing the bible in light of science. Is the bible teaching science- physics, geography, mathematic, etc? As a scientist wanna-be, will I pick up the bible to study or science related books? Interfering in biblical studies in the name of science is a height of misplaced priority!

It is also wrong to read meanings to scriptures from one obviously devoid of its understanding, as it only shows stark ignorance and shame! A good bible student understands time span between each bible verses. Nowhere does the bible says the earth is 6000, 7000, 10000, etc years. But as usual, busybodies dabbling into what they know nothing about.
