GloriousGbola: so - you want to blackmail the FG by using your own people as cannon fodder.
Those calling for military takeover are the ones blackmailing the FG and using the SE as cannon fodder.
A meeting was held this week by political leaders of the SE. They will approach the FG and state their demands. One of which is to obey the Appeal Court judgement of releasing Nnamdi Kanu. So that the criminals using him as an excuse will no longer have one. Another is to bring economic development to the SE to give the region a sense of belonging.
Mine is to go after the criminal elements enforcing the sit at home.
I have used security reports to show that there's no need for military takeover. The SE is not more dangerous than the most secured regions in the country. This is basic fact.
The only thing government needs to do is to fish out those that enforce the sit at home. If people must join the civil disobedience it should be voluntarily. We have DSS, police and civil defense. Some state even have state vigilante groups like Imo and Anambra. These are enough to deal with any miscreants unless they are not serious.
Convince the SE that they should not listen to Simon Ekpa by bringing economic development and inclusiveness to their region.
I bet you they will assist in catching the ESN people.
I don't see how hard this is or how unattainable it is. Anyone against this is not a friend to SE and does not wish them well. They probably enjoy the situation.
raumdeuter: Roland17 this is the type of message that we will hear once President decides to send in the military like you want
According to this poster who lives in the SE, the region is secure enough compared to elsewhere in Nigeria
Let President concentrate on other serious areas and ignore the minor civil disobedience in the SE
I don't live in the SE, you don't live there currently neither does izzou. Some of those who live there have either said the SE is secure and all is a skit
Let govt focus elsewhere
Exactly. It's a political solution that is required. The SE feels alienated from the centre. Create a sense of belonging and see if youths won't hand over the traitors by themselves.
GloriousGbola: Nnamdi kanu is really Martin Luther King. You just can't see it
/s
It is Buhari that you have to make accountable for making NK a hero. ObJ ignored him, GEJ ignored him. Buhari made him a hero. Now people have died fighting both for and against him.
The best way to handle miscreants is to not give them attention. Buhari gave him attention and now he's looking like Mandela.
Ibime: Killing someone for trying to earn bread on a day of the week is not civil disobedience
Telling an Igbo man he can't earn bread on a certain working day is the most anti-Igbo thing I can think of
As long as we call it Sit At Home, it is civil disobedience. I hope we are rational here.
Good. So let the security agencies go after those people forcing people to sit at home against their wish. We have police, DSS and civil defence. We don't want military. SE is not at war with the FG. Let the DSS do their investigation and arrest and kill those people even. But don't send army.
SE is less insecure compared to most other regions. In fact SE is among the most secure regions in Nigeria as at today.
If FG send the army many innocent people will die and the level of insecurity will increase. The army will set up road blocks that will kill economic activities. In turn they will be resisted by the people and that's when you will see the real insecurity.
Instead of army send economic development and see if the people of SE will not catch IPOB members for you.
Why would you send an army because of civil disobedience?
I gave an alternative which is to ensure economic development in the region like rebuilding federal roads and opening markets.
If you were genuine in your concern which I know you are not, this should be your first attraction to my comments.
I understand that some people just want to see military stretching themselves with easterners not necessarily ensuring peace. They just want to see people being subjugated rather than being set free.
Oga, any person with genuine interest in what's happening in the SE would not send the army as any possible solution. Sending the army will create more tension. Simple.
Theflint1: From this data you shared, the South East is the most insecure region in the South, and when you narrow it down to insecurity per land area, the South East just might be up there with those Northern regions.
I understand there's a lot of politics being played with the whole IPOB situation in the South East, and most of these people commenting about it only care about the politics of it, but then human life is sacrosanct, and whether it's one life getting lost, as long it's become a nuisance, it should be stamped out.
My brother I am from the SE and I get daily info about what's happening. Inasmuch as IPOB is not needed, it's all political. I won't be surprised if the killings are done mainly by state actors- military and state vigilantes. SE is not really different from other southern regions.
raumdeuter: How many people are in the SE compared to other regions? Do a killings per capital and lets see something
Was there Federal presence when there was security in the past
I brought a ten year report, you became angry that SE is not as insecure as you portray. You asked for recent, I brought that of 2022 you are still asking for per capita. What nonsense. If you want to argue why don't you bring the stats you want?
raumdeuter: You are presenting a report of July 2011 to 2021. Your report is 2 to 12yrs late
Since then Doras husband shot in broad daylight, US embassy officials shot and burnt alive, Anambra lawmaker beheaded, Many Policemen killed and burnt.
I agree sit at home and the enforcement is part of the less insecure
In that period, SE was more secured than any other region. It's lack of federal presence that created the insecurity.
izzou: Your comment left me speechless.
Thank you for the explanation
The people laughing at my post don't really care about bringing peace and development to the SE. They are having fun and would wish military is sent to even kill more people.
If you drive to the SE, you will experience more check points than junctions. Each check point may be as close as two poles away. Each check point is a tax collection point.
raumdeuter: If they post you go those places as a FG employee you go go? A whole Ohaneze no gree have meeting in their homeland, The business men like Ifeanyi Ubah and Emeka Offor need almost a battalion of soldiers plus bulletproof vehicles to follow them anywhere they go
All those policemen and soldiers they post there and got beheaded yet you want more people there
I believe you SE is very secure, All those kids and market women getting flogged are part of a skit. So PBAT does not need to send any intervention to a more secure place
izzou: So how do you bring economic development to a place that is not secured?
Care to explain?
SE is secured compared to most other regions. One of the ways of fighting insecurity by the way is by fighting poverty.
Open the Sea ports. Remove multiple taxation. Provide interest free loans. Build roads and markets. Etc. Let People of SE feel as part of Nigeria. People will forget Simon Ekpa. They will even catch him alive for government.
Despite all these ramblings, SE has been largely less insecure.
Which makes IPOB less of a terrorist group compared to herdsmen and bandits yet to be proscribed.
What the SE needs is federal presence not army. Those obeying Simon Ekpa are doing so because of the dream of a better life in an imaginary Biafra. With more federal presence in terms of economic development, no body will listen to Simon or even Kanu.
Bring economic development to SE. Send the army to the north instead if they need combat.
iamoyindamola: Arsenal having cold feet on rice's deal because why have their lawyers not sign the contract
The payment structure is the problem. West Ham handed over papers to initiate the deal. Arsenal lawyers have be stalling because of financial issues I think.
As for the deal, it's done. I am happy West Ham are made to wait just as they did to us.
garfield1: You must really be pained.did your Pandora telegram group not tell you that tinubu provided ctc of letters from the register and head of results and transcript of CSU affirming his graduation and also tendered a yearbook? Forgery is a criminal offence that must be proven beyond doubt.with evidences affirming tinubu, obi has no proof beyond doubt boy
I will not be all vawulent and not give you some flowers.
You admit that there is forgery but it has not been proved beyond reasonable doubt.
garfield1: You just escaped from yabaleft so I don't blame you.contunue disgracing yourself childishly.
1) rubbish
2) only the school will answer that and obi failed to call them
3) what proof do you have or is it hallucinations and the usual self delusion? The school simply issued out a photocopy boy.yiur still in primary school so I will pardon you
4) it shows nothing.the school clearly stated that tinubu is a male and that he graduated from their school.this has not been rebutted.why am I wasting time with a kid?
You are a bloody liar who is just depending on assumptions and hearsay to discredit the LP petition.
May be your agbado whatsapp admin did not tell you that CSU was subpoenad to provide CTCs of Bola's certificate.
garfield1: Your stay in yabaleft has certainly twisted you....why do you find it difficult understanding simple things? The University simply tendered a copy, tinubu has the original copy.once you collect an original cert, the school still keeps a copy for things like this.didnt you go to school? Below is the latest supreme court ruling on forgery.csu must testify, grow up boy
1. You don't know the meaning of certified true copy. I thought you are educated and a lawyer. Or are you a charge and bail lawyer? Or just an illiterate paid to create confusion? You write poorly.
2. I asked a simple question, which if the two evidences presented in court is the original? You kept mute like you are deaf and dumb. Choose the original for us.
3. If the one Tinubu is holding is the original, does that mean that one can go to a fake online website and create an original certificate even if he graduated from the school? If not, why didn't Tinubu just ask the school to send him a copy of his certificate if he doesn't have it?
4. What this shows is that this your Bola A. Tinubu is not the one that graduated from CSU. He actually impersonated someone else. A female for that matter. After this tribunal, he would be arrested and jailed for perjury.
I will keep exposing your foolishness for everyone on NL to see. Since you love criminality and corruption.
garfield1: Are you ok? Is that what the supreme court specified in forgery case? Why was obaseki not disqualified despite discrepancies? Forgery is a criminal case and must be proven beyond doubt kid without any strain of doubt. One one hand, the cert has diff but on the other hand the school clearly said Mr tinubu graduated from their school.therefore, there is no convincing evidence beyond doubt.for it to be beyond doubt, the school must testify.onye iberibe like you
Again don't be silly. The case of Obaseki was that no other certificate was obtained from University of Ibadan by APC to prove forgery. APC relied on photocopy of INEC forms Obaseki submitted in the previous election.
In this particular case, an original certificate certified as true copy by the issuing CSU was obtained and tendered as evidence.
Here is a screenshot of the SC Judgement on certificate forgery in the case of APC Vs Obaseki on what is required to prove forgery. Take note of the word 'only' in the underlined sentence. Look and learn.
garfield1: The copy from CSU does not show manifestly show forgery.forgery is a criminal offence and must be proven beyond doubt.the same school has confirmed that tinubu is a Mr,graduated from their school and produced a pix of him in their yearbook.what exactly is disturbing you son?
By the way,the section the op quoted is about electoral malpractice and not qualifications.
You have been quoting me upandan with no bearing.
I asked a simple question. Which of the certificates posted is the original?
BluntCrazeMan: There are some few things we should know in this particular presidential petition tribunal, which were totally different from other years..
1. During the Pre-trials, the Judges ruled that since all the parties in the tribunal were all present during the election and that they were all fully involved during the production of the INEC-Results, then, it means that all the CTCs of results that were produced by the INEC and tendered at the Tribunal would all be ASSUMED AS ALREADY READ. (It wasn't like this in all these other years, especially 2019.) So, if you are asking about the time the Judges would sit down and read all those trailer-loads CTCs of results, Sorry my brother.. It had all been assumed as already read, even before they were tendered.
2. AND NOW, BEING THAT ALL THE TENDERED DOCUMENTS HAD BEEN ASSUMED AS READ BY ALL THE PARTIES,, THE RESPONDENTS AND THE PETITIONERS CAN MAKE FURTHER ARGUMENTS AND ANALYSES IN THEIR ADDRESSES BASED ON THE TENDERED DOCUMENTS.. Nothing prevents them from arguing further or analysing further inside their addresses.
3. Section-137 of the Electoral-Act-2022 said something that is very important... “It shall not be necessary for a party who alleges non-compliance with the provisions of this Act for the conduct of elections to call oral evidence if originals or certified true copies manifestly disclose the non-compliance alleged. (It wasn't like this in all these other years, especially 2019.)
Cc... Lotanna2, Spy360..
I just say make I bring this three things to your attention.
The bolded was what I was trying to let Lotanna know about tendering the original copy of Tinubu's certificate from CSU. He was claiming that LP ought to have called someone from the university to witness. As long as certified true copy of the document is tendered especially under subpoena on the issuing organisation, the petitioners do not need to call a witness.
The Chicago State University says All Progressives Congress stalwart and presidential hopeful, Bola Tinubu, indeed attended the university.
Beverly Poindexter, who is in charge of official transcript requests, enrolment and degree verification at the Office of the Registrar, CSU, said this in a terse email response to The PUNCH on Tuesday.
“Mr Tinubu did attend our university, however, if further information is needed, go to studentclearinghouse.org website to make a formal request,” Poindexter wrote.
In an earlier letter dated August 20, 1999 and signed by then Registrar, Lois Davis, the university stated that Tinubu was its student between 1977 and 1979.
He wrote, “Please be advised that Bola A. Tinubu did indeed attend Chicago State University from August 1977 through June 1979. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Administration with honours on June 22, 1979. His major was Accounting.”
Also attached to Tinubu’s form CF004 submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission during his re-election bid in 2003 was a commendation letter from CSU recognising his performance and “high scholastic achievement”.
Tinubu’s academic qualification has been a subject of controversy for over a decade.
A recent viral article claimed that all the schools Tinubu claimed to have attended had disowned him.
Human rights lawyer, Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN), had also questioned Tinubu’s credentials and sued the Nigeria Police Force for failing to investigate him.
The Supreme Court in its judgment on May 10, 2002 ruled that Tinubu could not be prosecuted by the police for alleged certificate forgery.
The apex court also ruled that the Inspector-General of Police could not be compelled by Gani to investigate Tinubu for alleged certificate forgery as he enjoyed immunity at the time
