Ikaeniyan0: Look at Dangote repatriating close to $700M to Nigeria from other countries. Click the link below and read.
https://www.thecable.ng/dangote-weve-repatriated-over-687m-through-our-africa-operations/amp
Even if we pay Dangote in dollars to buy refined crude from him, his dollars will remain in Nigeria, is not going somewhere else.
And Dangote refinery is not the only refinery that will be operating next year. OK, let me agree to the repatriation, but please it was over what period? So Dangote brings in close to a billion in five years or four years cos the article didn't specify and do we build up analysis from it and how sustainable it is? Only change of cars for the executive, legislators and Judiciary in less than two years will wipe out the funds we are talking about |

Ikaeniyan0: Dangote is a Nigerian, his dollars will remain in Nigeria.
Dangote refinery is not the only refinery that will be operating by this time next year in Nigeria. Dangote will get the dollars from where? From the one you and I are using to buy petrol? Don't think you will sell crude to Dangote in Naira and buy refined petrol in Nigeria. This is because, his bulk expenses for maintenance and services for the refinery will be in dollars. Now let me enlighten you, the modular refinery produces diesel, kerosene and crack naptha and not PMS. The cost is not viable for modular refineries to produce PMS. Petrol is our largest demand. Sorry the modular refinery would not help as much as you assume. |
Business › Re: CBN May Not Clear FOREX Backlog — Report by SSpeter(m): 8:44am On Nov 12, 2023 |
Ikaeniyan0: I still stand my ground.
Dangote refinery, modular refineries and NNPCL refineries will reduce the pressure on the naira Economic activities do not care about your ground, or my opinion, it is what it is. You are not going to pay Dangote in Naira? Dangote will not give you refined petroleum free of charge? You do not have the dollars to pay for it either? Hence, you continue to Swap, unless Dangote exceeds local demand and begins to export then we can ask him for the export proceeds. Body language doesn't work here |

Blueace247: Thank you for sharing this insightful analysis. It's always beneficial to have diverse perspectives on economic matters. While the challenges outlined are notable, it's important to remain optimistic about the resilience of the Nigerian economy. Efforts by the central bank to clear forex backlogs and address issues impacting the naira are steps in the right direction. With careful policy considerations and adaptive measures, there's potential for stability and growth. Let's hope for positive developments and collaborative strategies to navigate these challenges successfully. CBN policies, hope and patriotism does not solve currency issues. You have to move from consumption to production with minimal corruption |

TCMNetwork: Milk is a luxury in Nigeria. The poor can't afford to use a tin of liquid milk that costs over #500. Some don't even think of using milk. Thank goodness for those sachets that cost #100 Devaluation and corruption made your currency weak and poverty skyrocketed. I knew security men who would come to our local kiosk in the 90's to buy a tin of peak for 19 naira, in the 90's you hardly get powdered or sachet milk, it was affordable to all those who had something doing. It was never a luxury item |

Philipponzaghi: Fuel will not crash with the amount we want. Maximum reduction won’t be more than #50 reduction.
The only good thing about the refinery is that the $$ we spend importing will now be used for something else and like that it could help with your FX issue.
If $$ to naira rate come down, petrol price come down too. we don't spend dollars importing, what we do is crude swap, we give the refineries crude in exchange of refined petrol products. With Dangote, it will be the same crude, therefore there is no immediate benefit. The only way Nigeria will benefit is if Dangote produces enough and begins to export hence the much needed FX can be generated. |

(6) Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) — Director-General / CEO — Dr. Lekan Fadolapo
(7) News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) — Managing Director / CEO — Mr. Ali Muhammed Ali

But why is the south south not fully carried along.
We wait for the ambassadorial names... asorock this few weeks has been busy with appointments..
If your candidate no make any list .. go realign
God bless Nigeria
For those waiting for economy.. Baba say na till January Buhari avoided the SE, does it make the SE'ners poorer or richer? If Tinubu should appoint Okafor in all the posts how does it affect chukwudi hawking hala in Maryland? All these tribal bigotry takes nobody anywhere. Are there not very poor people in Daura today? Both Ibb and Abubakar hailed from Niger, can you live in MINNA today? Appointment is only for the pocket of the appointeee and if you look closely most appointee are already ok financially, hence the new wealthy is just for them to squander |

It’s all in preference . Those that have full accounting staff will prefer biweekly while those without do it monthly . Bank employees get paid biweekly. Those companies that depend on income from products and services to pay will prefer monthly Wether you agree or disagree is irrelevant. If you have a guaranteed full time employment you will be paid monthly. You can work in hospitals, school even Google and Amazon on contract, hence you will be paid weekly or biweekly hence no work no pay, you clock in or sign in and out. Emphasis on guaranteed full time employment. Even if I don't show up in a week, I will still get paid, I might be queried but my time is guaranteed. I had worked for a bank in the UK and I was paid monthly. |

When you said: "The British are tricker than any sapiens on our planet" Did that comment apply to this lady ? If you knew she was Pakistani, would you have said that? Firstly I have never seen anyone ask a lady that question, I only read about it. The men in Nigeria I know are classy hardworking guys. Like I said, it is all about your circle. I cannot relate with Nigerian men asking such questions before I have not experienced it in my circle. Secondly a Pakistani would not come online to post this, a Pakistani in Britain is timid and you can easily see the difference between those born in Britain and those that migrated. I live and work in Britain so I know |

Some companies even pay weekly due to high turn over of staff . ( Walmart , UPS, logistics companies , warehouse , telemarketers etc )
Good 2know If you are on a full time employment you get paid monthly. It is only minimum wage jobs and jobs where the employer cannot guarantee you a full time employment that pays weekly and biweekly. Google will not pay a senior engineer weekly or biweekly hence most weekly payments are usually minimum wage jobs |

Amotolongbo: Can you hear yourself out? I said British girls will have a very open chat with you and tell you what they feel like telling you to make you comfortable with them. You don’t need asking them about their life before they tell you what they want you to know. There is a boundary you dare not cross with them, if you try it, you are a goner. Their sexual life isn’t something they keep secret if you ask them questions on it in a rightful, chatable, respectful and courteous way like “would you mind/like sharing your body count with anyone?”, not silly, rude and shocking questions Nigerian guys ask eg “are you a virgin?”.How did you know the guy asked the question in a silly and rude way? I am not trying to justify that the lady is lying, I am only stating that you and I do not have have enough premises to reach a conclusion. Amotolongbo: The guy is a he-goat who thinks every gesture from a lady is seductive and an inviting sign for sexual activity.
In case you don’t know, most ladies in UK give you some smiles, chat and activities to make you feel very comfortable, that is the courtesy they have been trained to have since childhood, though fake and not sincere. If any lady does that in Nigeria, it will definitely be seen as a romantic invitation from a girl. That is the natural British way, unlike the American girls.
The foolish guy thought the lady was “falling” for him, hence the audacity to ask her that question. The guy is even lucky that the lady didn’t report the case to the authority, then he will understand how to comport in a strange land
Many of you in Nigeria wouldn’t learn until you leave your country to go and disgrace and embarrass yourself and your generation in the western world I think you are the one that is naive, British girls that will tell you who they slept with last night and the number of kids they have from different fathers without thinking twice? Same British girls that will meet you in a club and shag in the toilet? Same British babes that will tell a stranger they fantasize about a 3some? The babe was feeling the guy and she was just too ashamed to answer hence the reaction |
Properties › Re: Paying Of Rent On A Monthly Or Yearly, Which Is Better? by SSpeter(m): 8:44am On Oct 01, 2023 |
etrange: Actually, a monthly payment generally benefits the property owner more. Anyone that understands finance knows that the money at hand today is worth more than the same amount tomorrow. The money you pay him in January could get him a few extra bucks by December and this would help to counter the effect of inflation. Again, monthly payment almost always implies monthly lease contract as well. This also gives your landlord (and yourself) more flexibility. Any party can end the lease at any time (not always the case though).
On your side, it pays you more to hold on to your money as long as possible, provided the amount isn't subject to change by year end. This way, you can earn some interest on your money before giving out the principal. You just need to be principled enough to set it aside every month (this is why some companies delay salary payment).
But then again, it all depends on individual situations.
Yeah, but this is like eating your cake and still having it. A property owner that accepts monthly payment would want a monthly lease term as well. you are thinking inversely. Have you forgotten that you pay rent upfront and not in arrears? So where is the benefit of paying yearly? |

Padipadi: Den those asking for his university are mumus. Person must go secondary school before university. Did Tinubu do A-Level? Seems PDP and LP don't know that Tinubu deliberately played some games to distract them. One of such game is the new note policy and naira scarcity saga coupled with emilokan. They were done to make it appear Buhari wasn't backing him. To say PDP is a foólish party is an understatement. But LP now mumu pass PDP! I do not involve myself much in politics, I only think rationally. If Tinubu had submitted his secondary school certificate there will be no course for alarm or his A-level as you stated. It is normal for you to have attended high school before university, but we need a proof of it which is the certificate. He tendered his degree which is good, however, his competitor is saying that there is a discrepancy and the discrepancy alleged by his competitor is weighty. Hence, the competitor is going to court to summon the school to release the original copy of theirs so that he can compare with what president Tinubu submitted to Inec. Now saying that Tinubu is playing a game with them is simply idiocy. Do you know the embarrassment it will cause you if someone is saying your certificate is forged? |
