Tohsynetita1: Am not into snail but a friend that does it sold it to USA recently. I like your sincerity, Agriculture is good, but for a young person who has no government support 😔 it is difficult. All over the world even in the UK, US and Europe government gives a lot of subsidies to farmers. I am not saying this because I read it, or someone said it, I am saying it because I work in consulting and I have worked in government projects on Agriculture, climate and sustainability in Europe and parts of North Africa. Agriculture is difficult to scale, time to maturity is long, you fight pest and diseases and you pay salaries. But if you are passionate about it, just do your homework. I have supported 3 guys separately that went into fish farming in the lekki axis of Lagos, initially they were doing well. They thanked me day and night but as at today they had sold their equipment, a geometric rise in feeds for the fish threw them out of business. |

Tohsynetita1: Anyhow, 1000 piece of snail can fill a space of around 5000 litres. Do you believe that 1000 was sold 2million naira some days ago. For how long did you rear it? and how much did you buy a 1000 piece and how much did it take you to feed it, also how much were you paying yourself while caring for the snails?... |

Tohsynetita1: Where's the land? if I can get few portion to borrow, I will be grateful. You invested 27million and you don't make more than 2 million yearly. All this are the signs of poor maintenance, not doing right crops, poor soil, Do you know that ordinary castor seeds of a kg sell about 6k for planting, and 5kg will do an hectares. At harvest, an hectares can give a tonne or more or less but around 800kg to 1100kg , a tonne is around 2 million naira, this is something that will harvest 4 times in a year. 4 times in a year gives it around 8 million naira. Just for a hectare. For castor seeds the 2nd harvest will be like times 3 of the first harvest, the 3rd will be like times 2 of the 2nd harvest depending on your management. With castor seeds, if you have a hectare, you can became a millionaire in a year. just one hectares . The rest goes on, sunflower, coconut, plantain, cashew, cocoa, plantain, palm. Those crops have less probability of having issue and maintenance isn't everyday. Cocoa remains the highest export Nigeria has every year. And you dey talk say you dey get 2 million after investment of 27 million. There was something I saw on agriculture group here last week, the post was about 1000 tonne of cocoa needed. Imagine the type of land that will produce such. So, it's either your management is very poor, or land is very costly or you plant less return crops. Agriculture without government support is slavery ( no offense intended). I knew about all these but I only engaged just to get my folks busy. You see, I knew a lot of good commercial papers that were trading around 19% back then and TBs were doing over 16%, this is just basic fixed income trading without lifting a finger. All the same if it is your passion follow it . I wasn't tilling, it was a poultry and Piggery farm. The farm is still there but the returns ain't worth it for me |

Ogunleti01: In agric you learn to explore other profitable short term frontiers that could help you cushion the effect of your initial spending. if you are an agric person these should not be a problem Agriculture is very complex, and the ROI is quite poor. I wouldn't invest in anyone if they tell me that they have another side hustle while they are working with my funds. Probably that is why the banks do not loan to farmers...it doesn't make sense |

Please what aspect of agriculture did you invest in? If crops, what crops? If animals, which type?
Thank you. You don't need to be sorry, not that I made losses, the business wasn't growing and had no prospect of growing unless I continue to invest more, for me it was like a sinking cost, I had other Important things. It was 65% poultry farming and 35% Piggery |

When your goals are SMART, they become achievable. That means you can see it, feel it and achieve it. 7years is a long period of waiting hence you have to be thorough with your calculations and analysis.... between 2018-2022, I have invested about 27million in Agriculture I did not buy land because I was gifted lots of family land. There was never a year the business made more than 2million after deducting all expenses ( including paying myself and the workers). I had to gift the business to my parents and focus on more important things. |

nurey: That's what a business plan is for, you won't use all your 5m to buy the land and plant. 2m is enough to buy land and plant, the remaining 3m will take care of maintenance and workers salary and your own upkeep. As I am also doing other jobs I can feed from there OK, so with 3M, you will maintain the farm, feed and pay your workers for seven years? When you do a business pitch, do not tell your potential investor that you will be doing another business for your feeding and upkeep, it shows that the funds they are investing is not critical to you |

Ballmer: List the 10 biggest companies in Botswana and their owner let me see how you arrive at the position the economy is not driven by the white minority.
One of the biggest company in Botswana today is Debswana if not the biggest ownership is split 85% to De Beer group (white) with mere 15% to the govt.
And the trajectory continues for the major companies so you clearly have no idea what you are saying. Let us not argue, I only replied you cos you asked the African country that took back power from the white and are leaving better than S/Africans and I answered. Now you are shifting the goal post to companies and manufacturing? USA and China have more industries than all other countries, do they have better living standards? Quality of life? Life expectancy? Poverty rate? or even education standards, when compared to countries like Luxembourg? Norway? Liechtenstein?... Botswana have a better quality of life than South Africa and I have answered your question. |

E don red for average Nigerians wishing to Japa to Canada via study route.
$20,000 Canadian is roughly $16000 USD, and that's about #20,000,000 million Naira that's supposed to be in your Proof of fund, that's aside your tuition, travel itinerary and flight ticket. So you are looking at roughly #30,000,000
Dear Nigerian youths, if you have such amount of money, invest in agriculture and agro allied businesses.
Groom and grow your business for another 3-4years and I can assure you, you can go on vacation to Canada, US or UK now as a big boy
Strictly My opinion though. That's a lie and not true. I have invested over 27 million in Agriculture between 2019 till date and there is no year I have made 2millon profit after expenses. I mean 2 million in a year and you talking of vacation.. |

But rather than Russia’s economy collapsing, it is going in positive direction and improving while EU countries keep entering recession You are not getting the clearer pictures, the Russians that will suffer the effect of Putin's war are the younger generations. Just like today's Nigerian graduates, things didn't go bad overnight, it is a slow and gradual process. Russia has the capacity to be the greatest nation on earth. They have both human (intellectuals), and natural resources yet they fall behind countries like Italy ( a congregation of island) in terms of GDP per capital. |

Felix6: It's very disappointing seeing situations like this. After producing millions of engineering graduates we still rely on foreign artisans to construct our Roads. Most of these so called expatriates will not be given a contract for a dog pen in their countries, as they lack the requiste knowledge to do so. Reason our infrastructures failed before commissioning. The so called developed countries make use of young engineers, technicians craftsmen etc in a locality to build every single road in that area. And they are being supervised by the council. Here in Nigeria, councils have been buried. Inviting foreigners for Road construction is a monumental fraud. What stops the States government from purchasing latest construction equipments, or even manufacture them here. It must not be totally high tech yet but atleast something that can hold its own here. Engage the locals and see wonders within short period, with less money spent; and of course institutions must be brutally strengthen to check corrupt supervisors and every other persons in the society. Anyone that still patronised foreign contractors for road construction is a criminal. That's not true, construction costs a lot of money and government do not pay on time, our Nigerian banks can't survive under such stress, but these Chinese companies can because they get funded from their home countries and can spread payments over a very long period |
