nickyvil: Now let me answer to this , here new hope is 10,650 and top field, is #8,500 let's leave the price, selling agrited at 2700 to 3200 at 5weeks is okay. Im okay if at the end of the day i make profit even if its small but continuously so i always have target when to stop feeding and sell cos from a day old till 2weeks plus dont dont eat much and 3weeks to 4weeks they start eating but from 4weeks upwards, they eat heavily so i try my best and plan ahead. It is a lost if someone keep making feeds cos at broilers grow, their appetite increases, its all about calculations and i do mine very well and cut unnecessary spending. Impressive, if you got 3.6 kg in 6 weeks. The highest I have gotten is 3kg. That's why I love threads like this. We can always get information for improvement. |
Agriculture › Re: Broiler Business Is Bad Business by staga: 11:49am On Apr 19, 2023 |
nickyvil: Thats first alternative, another way if its not in the festive season, just book for agrited and breed for 5weeks which you will feed day and night for 4weeks by then they will be over 1kg and the 4th to 5th week just give finisher. That is another alternative, when you breed for long that is when the cost will be higher. This you will use exclusive new hope feed. Extra starter(510) yellow bag, starter 511 you will see the weeks there.
Now for the frozen aspect, when you feed day and night, just go for agrited and feed for 6weeks. You will get 3.5- 4kg and your good to go.
Now you know medication, booster and all is important. You do things appropritely First, thanks for your input. But please, it is always good to do the Maths. New Hope is 11,500. Top Feed is 8,700 to 9,000, depending on where you buy. The cost of Gumboro vaccine has nearly doubled from 6 months ago. By the time you factor in all costs (feed, vaccines, drugs, mortalities especially during the heat season like now, wood shavings, brooding paper, salaries, cost of fuel to power your borehole, etc), you will get nearly N2,800 or even N3,000 as raising cost for a typical Ross 308 broiler. The market people will come to price the live birds very low (some as low as N2,700). So wherein lies the profit if you use feed that is N9,000 and above, except you have up to 1000 birds where you can say your profits may be N300,000 if you sell to those in the market at N300 gain per chicken? Also, how much do the cold rooms charge per kg? So you find out that it is a continuous balancing act for the farmer and many a time, compensating with formulated feed is really the only way out. |
Agriculture › Re: Broiler Business Is Bad Business by staga: 10:35am On Apr 19, 2023 |
nickyvil: First there is no way you will spend 2200 on a broiler for 6weeks and if you do then it means you must have been feeding it day and night non stop, if you feed a broiler non stop for six week you should get nothing less than 3kg unless its not a broiler from a good hatchery. Now from farm kilo is sold nothing less than #2,000. Let say 400grams was intestine and dirts, so your still left with atleast 2.5kg which you will sell nothing less that #4500 or #5,000. It costs N2,700 to N2,800 to raise a broiler. I challenge you to provide facts and figures and I will show you mine. Most market people come pricing them for N3,000 or N3,300. You only make the money selling to those buying it per kg, in which case you have to keep your birds for at least 8 weeks to attain 4kg, so that when you slaughter, you can get 2.5kg killed weight which gives you anything from N4,000 to N5,000 per bird. You make the most money if you open a joint where you sell fried or roasted chicken with rice, or you do shawarma. You cannot sell in the open market unless you get a shop, join the union and spend other initial money to get yourself an established retail outlet. Also, sales are seasonal. Easter coincided with Eid-El-Fitri in the same month this year. Then there is the Eid-El-Kabir and also Christmas later in the year. I own a broiler farm so I speak with loads of experience. I also have land where I farm maize twice a year using the 50-day variety. This cuts my feed costs during the rainy season, considering that a kilo of maize (60% of the constituent of chicken feed) is now N245. |

FreeStuffsNG: Hmmm.
This is good news. UK is not helping matters too. They have been indicted of enslaving Nigerian doctors.
5 Years Before Going Abroad Doctors Bill: A Clinical Stitch In Time
Nigeria's House of Representatives in its tweet on 6 April, announced that a bill sponsored by Rep Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson to prevent Nigerian-trained medical or dental practitioners from being granted full licences until they have worked for a minimum of five years in the country has passed second reading at the Nigerian House of Representatives https://twitter.com/HouseNGR/status/1643996023885533184?s=20
My First Reaction
At last! It came late since I wrote to recommend that this law be passed for years now but it is still better it is coming this late than never. I support this bill be passed as law and the President must quickly assent to the law for immediate implementation and subsequent domestication by every state of the federation .
Cuba has such a law and it worked for all government-trained doctors as they require official persmission to relocate overseas after being trained by the Cuban government https://www.reuters.com/article/us-cuba-usa-migrants-healthcare-idUSKBN0TK58B20151201
The unregulated exit of Nigerian government-trained doctors here in our country has almost crashed the system yet there are several reports and complaints that they are being enslaved overseas.
https://punchng.com/nigerian-doctors-in-uk-lament-exploitation-slave-labour/
Will The Law Be Effective?
The way the law will be effective is to delay the process from when medical induction oath taking takes place to when you recieve provisional and full permanent medical license to practice as a medical doctor.
All travels by those set of doctors covered by the law will be required to get official permission from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) for travel within that period and the list to be shared with the Legislature and Immigration service on a periodic basis.
The law will make defaulters who flout the 5-year moratorium liable to conviction if they leave Nigeria to permanently reside and transfer their tax-expense acquired skillset to a foreign country before 5 years.
Anyone still doubting if this law will work should ask any professional this rhethorical question : You do not want a criminal record as a professional or would you want to be prosecuted?
The ship has set sail and the rest of the loose ends will be sorted out even though I suggest that this law be accelerated.
What Are Nigerians Saying?
There are two courts in the land, the more powerful one is the court of public opinion in the scheme of sociological perspectives.
Those who ignore the power of public opinion later realised too late.
There are some erstwhile powerful trade unions that underestimated the power of public opinion and today not enjoying the public sympathy.
That is why I am staying on the fundamental and basic question of "Must the taxpayers lose on all sides?" I am not about 'whataboutism'.
Like this problem of young doctors leaving immediately after training which remained unaddressed until now, I believe that one day, the issue of paying huge subsidies on petrol and electricity to only a set of Nigerians while millions of other Nigerians without roads and electricity have no equivalent subsidy yet forced by the system to pickup the social cost and burden of the debt and fiscal capture of state resources for a privileged compatriots will get to this level of national bill too.
Everyone of those with elitist education seem to want to take advantage of the system and when you ask them a basic question on why should a tax payer train you and when you finish your training you immediately take your skill to another country, what I recieve are cocky answers telling me "whatabout" so so so and so in response.
To make it mandatory for young medical doctors to stay back at least 5 years after being trained with tax payers money is not too much to ask from you if you attend government universities where your education was heavily subsidized.
Right Family Values On Decline.
Parents who scatter their homes and raise children who grow up to run far away from home are on trial as well. It is not just the young professionals using the japa syndrome as smokescreen.
It is abnormal and dysfunctional for a young man and/or woman to finish school and immediately want to move several thousand kilometres away from his parents and deny those who trained him of his skill. It is against natural justice and these young professionals will lose.
In my opinion, this law asking them to stay will turn out to be a blessing in disguise for them.

Dearlove2me: The truth is right now, I feel like going somewhere for a while. I feel like I need rest. Somewhere I can forget about all my problems and breathe a fresh air. My husband has not been honest with me since the beginning of this marriage and I doubt if this is an attitude of a man that loves
He has always been in debt even before I married him. and he wouldn't let me know what he do with the money he keeps borrowing from people. Even my friends I introduced to him, he is owning them and can't pay back.
The bad side is, he borrows and stop picking their calls not respond nicely to them. He behalves badly to them. I'm suspecting he's into some kind of addiction that demands money. Maybe gambling but he wouldn't tell me. He's constantly on his phone.
He is owning loan app everywhere. To the extent that the app had to send hurrible messages to his contact's lists including his bosses, office colleagues and my relatives. It's so embarrassing and tiring. He has apologized several times that I should give him time to work on himself to stop an addiction, but he refused to explain what it is. Claiming that I might leave him if I know. But he has not changed abit. We are always hungry in this house. No baby food for my 6months old baby, no pampers and everything is total struggle. I quit my job last year but I'll soon start job search once my baby grow a little. In this house, If I don't look for food, then, we starve, I don't look for means of getting pampers, food, wears, then my baby will suffer, because his daddy is not capable of providing anything for us. It's so annoying.
I have dreams before I married him, but right now, I feel lost. There's no romance, no love, no affection in this marriage anymore, as I wouldn't even let him touch me because of the stress, suffer he constantly brings on us.
Money I raised to start up a business, (340k) I ended up using it to pay for his debt last two months because the people were always coming to embarrass us in the house and neighbors were coming to pleade on our behalf. I had to clear up the loan, yet he couldn't explain what he did with the money. With that start up capital, I would have been growing by now, but here I am. Still at the zero point.
I'm really tired I'm so confused here. What should I do? What would you advise? Definitely a gambling addiction. |

I can see clearly unexposed people here.
The offence is evading duty. There is a legal limit for what you can carry, and it is assumed it is for personal use.
If you carry above this limit, you will be stopped by UK Customs. For a first timer, you pay a fine, pay the duty and go with your cigarettes. It only gets to court if you are a repeat offender. By then, the cigarettes will be seized. |

satelliteDISH: Any Pastor, Reverend or church leaders who meant well for his members should round up church service before 9am to allow members to go and change their old naira notes in the bank. This is due to the fact that the closing date for changing of the old naira notes is 31st January, 2023. These notes have been in limited circulation for weeks now. Is it the 3 hours of church service that will suddenly make new notes to appear? Stop propagating the message and spirit of the antichrist. Church, God and pastors are not excuses for lazy or unfocused people who never learn to do things in a timely fashion. The bank where I withdrew new notes had less than 4 persons queueing for it at the time. Today if you go there, it is jam-packed. Nigerians never learn. BVN registration, same thing. NIN registration, the same. Always waiting till the last minute. Leave God and church out of it. |

Can you show me videos of NATO,Russia or China, flogging their military personnel all in the name of training them for war?
Even in the US or UK army, an officer dare not slap a private, the private will retaliate and nothing go happen because the Officer hit her first
If the officer felt she did something wrong, there are procedures to follow, she could have followed the procedure.
Nah only better training fit help our military personnel, upon all this flogging, insecurity is in every geopolitical region in Nigeria.
