This is a direct consequence of the failure of government to yield to ASUU's demands. Finally, students will bear the brunt of funding tertiary education in Nigeria.
kingmaster2009: The minimum wage in the Uk is 500 pounds a week after tax ....(jobs like cleaner, factory workers, Healthcare assistant) UK.workers are not.cheap like nigeria workers...
500 * 4 week is 2000 pounds 2000* 12 months is 24k in a year excluding some benefits like holiday pay etc
Now your expenses .... As a beginner, you need to maintain low.profile or else you will not retain all this money.... Someone that saved 30k pounds have to maintain low profile for her to save that kind of money or else you will keep looking for loan....
Please, I want to see that person that has saved 30k pounds. Show me one.
In the US, studies have shown that less than 15% of the populace have any savings at all. Less than half this number have up to 10,000 dollars savings.
Some people think it is easy to save 10k pounds, talk less of 30k pounds.
Which kind of japa be dis? Why not improve yourself here before moving?
I have a relation who is an expatriate. His japa story started when he published a piece in an international journal of repute in his field. The article was read by industry experts. He already has done several certifications relevant to his area.
A certain recruiter saw the article, checked his LinkedIn profile and called him up from the Middle East for an interview.
Long story short. Company paid for his flight, family relocation, kept them in hotel for two months, before he got a house. Company is also paying his child's fees till university.
Japa get levels depending on how you go about it. Most of the hard work in self development has to start in Naija.

The 1984 note redesign was a colour change. N20 took the colour of the old N5 note. N1 took up the old N20 note. N10 took up the colour of the old N1 note, and N5 took the colour of the old N10 note.
StrongAlphMale: How long do you think a church service should last?
For me, I think 1hrs 30mins is okay! Anything aside this is tiring!
One hour thirty minutes.
But occultists and native doctors do endless night vigils. Then you try to contest with them in elections and business deals, and you wonder why some of them have been successful politicians for endless years.
Messi1: I've always visited this my uncle at least four times a week. That is where I pass away time. His children all like me and any day I fail to come they must ask me why didn't come. I use the time i spend in his house to teach his children Mathematics and do their home work for them.
Today I was in his house, he stormed out from his room and ask if i don't help my mother at home. He yelled at me and what pain me most is that he said food is costly and they are only managing. He made me feel like i was the one finishing the food in his house. He said I should not be too frequent in his house if at all I must come.
I'm considering severing all ties to this my uncle, will that be right?
What are you always doing in your uncle's house as a grown man? Can't you look for work and help your mother like he said?
ChukwuObe: Obviously you are a fool for not to have seen the lies in your Obi Pandora's statement. How can a 6 years old be playing with someone who is about to leave the school. Obi was barely in primary school and he said he was playing with someone in Secondary school while in the same school. Haba. Pandora tu lie
Where did he say he played football with Peter Odili in this video that starts from 1:40?
uglodoh: I do not agree to this. I was one of the first set of students that started 6-3-3-4 set. That was in 1990 . The form 5 students we met were made to repeat the class. They were the first set of sss3 students
Mleeperbother: I don't understand. Why was your form2 not converted to Jss2? So your school was running SSS and form formats simultaneously?
The very first Junior Secondary exams under Babs Fafunwa's 6-3-3-4 system was written in 1988 or 1989. Those who wrote it were admitted in 1986 or 1987.
I was is the last set of Form 1 to Form 5 students. That was 1984-1889. When I was in Form 2,, the students that got admitted in 1985 were the first JSS 1 students.
My classmates who repeated joined the JSS set. That was brutal. They ended up spending 7 years in secondary school rather than the 5 years we spent. When I was in Form 5 ready to pack and leave, they were in SSS 1.
In 1984, the N50 groundnut today was 10 kobo. Soft drinks sold for 40k. A sweetened peanut like the "Burger peanut" sold for 50 kobo. Meatpie was 50k.
Life then was considered hard but in retrospect, much easier than today
In 1986, the Babangida government commenced the Structural Adjustment Programme. This led to the devaluation of the Naira. The effect was devastating.
Salary earners saw their earning drop in real terms. They suffered the most. The devaluation commenced the mass exodus of Nigerians overseas to search of foreign currency which was now king. Everyone wanted to Japa.
Many nigerians who had their children in British secondary school brought their children back home. My secondary school suddenly had students with a British accents. I can mimic a British accent down to this day.
Most were from British public schools. That's what the British call their elite secondary schools. One of the returnees had a very strong posh accent and snooty manners. He would fit neatly in the British Royal family. He is back in the UK and was a top 50 fencer tbere. Fencing is for the high class class of society. Not for paupers like me.
A crate of soft drinks sold for N5.50 in 1985. You may need to revise the cost of a soft drink in 1984 lower because I know that as at 1987, I used to buy a bottle of coke and a meat pie for 50k. Even in Kingsway Rendezvous, we used to have a feast with N2: coke and a meat pie with a burger.
lhordspy: This time around if zombidients and yiiboo miscreants hide under the disguise of youth just like Endsars protest to cause mayhem, upset, looting, stealing, sabotage and other evil intentions they are known for. Especially in Lagos, which i know is their target due to hate and envy.
I urge the government to deal with them in the brutal way possible. If you need volunteer, please call us. We are ever ready to restore some people brain back to default settings.
Never go to visit seers and prophets over marriage issues. You should seek God yourself in prayers and He will deliver to you the keys to handle the issues of life.
A marriage will last when the wifey is happy. Find out from God what makes your wife tick. That is the secret.
To all those who just want to japa with no foundation back home, this should be a lesson. Even if you are leaving, have a business you can come back to.
Burna440: The Animal cruelty going on in Kogi state is alarming.
Today another Hippopotamus was killed in Lokoja making it the third one for this year alone. I don’t know the reason why an animal on the brink of extinction can’t be protected or left alone in it’s Natural habitat. It was Killed in Ganaja Axis of the River Niger/Benue..
Pls anyone that knows how we can contact the relevant authorities who can arrest and prosecute this poachers should let me know. I’m sad to see this happening in this age. The hippo was too large that it was a crane that was brought to lift it into a truck.
Hippos have no natural enemies or predators. They are nowhere near extinction. Get your facts right
