This why I pith those clowns always shouting Transformation or GEJ 2019 if only they knew what awaits should this clueless clown zoologist get re-elected.
Most of the contractors working on FG roads are doing so with loans from banks with the hope that GEJ wins. How they will pay back such loans considering that it's only a mere N11b that was allocated to FMW for over 203 projects is question for another day.
Have you ever seen a country where Federal roads are not tolled? All over the world (I am assuming you have travelled to a few places). toll gates are constructed to ensure that road users contribute to the maintenance of roads that they are using. Tolls need to be reintroduced. Pure and simple.

There is no way I can send the advert to you all individually. It is a full page advert. I summarized it here and posted it, yet the post was taken off and I was banned in addition.

Rather, get the mods to recover that deleted thread and put it back here. I have no time and energy to start posting the whole advert again.

Hmm,

My office space was paid for at the cost of N1m. We pay taxes, levies, buy fuel, pay PHCN bills, water rate and property maintenance fee. What makes you think a desk space is worth N7,000?

You should be offering at least N30,000 for anyone to take you serious. From there, your quota for the aforementioned bills will be paid.

The Chief Pastorenuer in charge of re-election affairs has spoken again.

Thank God he is not releasing the gates of hell on anti-Jonathan supporters this time around.

I wonder if God has revealed to him the details of all the poor families and individuals that have contributed to his multi-billion empire.

God has spoken to Nigerians, we have listened and we will implement his wish.

Buhari is God's choice and Buhari will be president.
When did he ever release the gates of hell against anti-Jonathan supporters? Can't you even verify statements before you write them?

Thanks, The Thy Consulting, I have seen your responses in many other thread, sounds more of advertisement than a desire to help - no hard feelings.
However, I will clear my doubts by finding my way to your farm this coming saturday (15th may 2010).
Let me know ahead if there is any protocol I need to observe or something else.

Otherwise, pls if anyone has information on agricultural based trade associations in the country, I will be glad to know.

THanks

It is very simple. How do one apply? The process for YOUWIN was well known with a website and frequent adverts. After the launch, nothing was heard untill we heard people have been selected. How do we key into this is my question
The program will be rolled out nationwide and will absorb 20,000 youths per state. The vendor in my area is getting me the paper. When it comes I will put the info up.

But for a stupid woman to drag my wife into her argument and turn it personal, I won't take it.

Meet a newspaper vendor and pay him extra money to source those editions for you. Don't mind all these destiny destroyers on Nairaland that do nothing but talk people out of what the Holy Spirit is talking them into. Even the bible said in Ecclesiastes that you should sow a portion to 7 and another portion to 8, for you know not what evil will befall the earth.

You can never tell which of your efforts will bring fruit. It may be YEAP, it may be another thing. Just apply to them all.

Brother please stop searching for what does not exist. Its all propaganda. The YEAP was claimed to have been existing since 2012. There was an advert where they name some bogus beneficiary for something that was launched in November or December.
The same way people mocked YouWIN and said it was all propaganda until winners started getting alerts. What does it take him to apply? Is it not better he looks for the information and applies to give himself 50% chance, than to sit at home and say "it is all propaganda" and then give himself 0% chance by not applying?

Can you see the problem with you Mr. Stagger? It's too early to be taking whatever it is you take that makes you stagger.

First of all, my quotation is not only for garri as you can see it includes starch processing for which the calibre of flash dryer it comes with does not come cheap.

Secondly, you look at your list of components and look at mine with the specifications I doubt that your equipments are up to date.

Anyway, sell your market, I ll sell mine. I think the heavens are big enough for birds to fly and not collide except for the staggering ones. Kindly do your business, and let me mind mine. Good day.
The only modification to make if you want to make cassava flour is to add a flash dryer. How much does that cost? N12million?

The hydraulic jack in my own quotation is even a 30ton hydraulic press, not your 5 tons press. Every other equipment is standard measurement just like yours.

Make I take my odeku jare stagger out of this thread go filling station. Case closed.

Before I stagger out of the thread, let me stagger you with a proforma invoice I have for gari processing machines at the same 2 metric tonnes per day capacity your are quoting for FIFTEEN MILLION NAIRA.

If you add a vitamin A cone blending machine which goes for 700K, the entire cost of the unit is N2.9million (transport and installation not included).

Compare N3m with your amount: maybe your won is made with gold abi?

Acts 16 verse 16-19

16: Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a female slave who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling.

17: She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, "These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved."

18: She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and said to the spirit, "In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!" At that moment the spirit left her.

19: When her owners realized that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to face the authorities.

No offense intended.... But your dad is stark raving mad cry if he sees nothing wrong in swinging his unclad manhood around the house even in your younger sister's presence.

MY ADVICE...... How can you talk about someone's dad in that manner? You have no manners. Do you have parents at all? Can you not just offer advice instead of insulting and using rude language on his dad's person?

Thanks very much madam, transporting it is another expenses and waiting for 3-4weeks is another thing. A buyer promise to come and process it in the farm and pay cash but the problem is their price, N 7000 -N8,000/tonne.
I thank I should look for a way of making it into garri like oga stagger just advised the problem is I don't have any idea about that but tomorrow Monday I have to go round to see if I can see something do about it
You should also know that cassava is heavy. Yet it is made up of mostly water. So why waste money transporting it? Construct a shed in that your farm (or clean up the one I saw in the picture) and do some gari stuff there. You see, we are trying to rescue a bad situation you found yourself in due to lack of research before starting. After now, make sure you have a defined product for a defined market and setup your farm and processing facilities close to your defined market. Ok?

Thanks very much for this info, I had taught of garri b4 but was discouraged that garri is not that moving in the market again.
Sir, the link u gave is not opening rather it is directing to install APUS on my tab which rearranged my system the way I don't understand it.
It is a shared file website. You know they have a lot of funny links. Just make sure you isolate that link and download it. Someone has downloaded it without issues. Why not you?

And when you say gari is not moving market, what exactly do you mean? Have you gone done your own market research? Don't go to only one market. Go to several of them. Frankly, selling your cassava at N8,000 per tonne is bad enough. Having to wait 4 weeks after for your money is simply unacceptable.

Also, you need to understand that cassava and gari markets have a dual rhythm of glut and scarcity. But you can navigate these periods if you are smart. I don't know about your area, but gari sells here in Northern Nigeria. That is because there are very few processors, and the population that eats it is the southern settlers of which I am one, and we are many.

Was in my cassava farm yesterday, 10 months old now. Need buyer soon
You have 2 months to do something before your cassava starts to feed on itself if you know what I mean. For starters, why not locate markets around you and found out which cassava products they have or do not have: gari, fufu, starch, etc.

2ndly, decide on which product you will process. Then find out the cost implications of acquiring the relevant BASELINE machines.

a) Instead of a mechanical gari fryer, why not buy frying basins.
b) Arrange firewood or gas, whichever is cheaper.
c) At least you can buy a gari grater. That one is not too expensive.
d) Look for a source of clean water. Buy a tanker of water and put in an overhead GP tank.
e) Look for all those native sieves that women use to sieve the cassava mesh. It works just as well as the mechanical sieves.
f) Organize labour. Those who will peel cassava, those who will bag the grated mesh, those who will compress the grated mesh with those planks tied together to form the fermentation racks, and two women who will fry the gari. Infact two women is all you need to sieve, construct your fermentation racks and fry the fermented mesh. They can even bag and sew teh bags up.
g) Get sacks. After frying and cooling the gari, bag it manually and sew it.

Gari that is well fermented, fried and dried can stay for up to a year without spoiling or growing mould. I fried gari when I was small, my dad before me did it, my elder brother did it and I can tell you that if you can stand the heat, there is nothing to it. You do all this, then sell your gari. Even if it takes you two months to clear that stock, do it. Then take the money and start to keep aside to acquire standard machinery for your processing plant. You can build a gari processing plant on a plot of land.

Start to do something in terms of processing. Make a plan and God will help you. You can always start small and keep pushing until you hammer. The experience too is worth it.

I have attached a document to show you the process.

Lesgupnigeria:
Nice one mercilicious!
I have been thinking along that line of late.

@Apitch...The worse it gets, the better we wake up from our slumber.
Economic problems such as this befell countries like brazil,Argentina many years back making the government, agric stakeholders, the citizens to wake up to their first love and they are now the food.basket of the world.
I see the same thing happening to Nigeria.

@stagger:
You are right in that we should not be complaining about government.

Personally, i believe government should not be involve directly in agribusiness but create a good enabling environment for the stakeholders (farmers, investors, agric banks, value chain suppliers etc) to participate in the business of agriculture.

The government is actually doing the best it can do,just that the recent government's action is somehow late.
I am very sure that government will be force to create good policies that will be geared toward more citizen to participate in agribusiness.

As a country, all our cocoa and our groundnut exportation that make us the toast of africa in the international market might not work again.

We might not be able to reach the peak of the financial level we were in the 70's and 80's in this era in terms of foreign exchange unless we bring in some innovations and rapid industrialisation of some of our products.

We cannot meet up within the shortest time with countries producing our former exportable products in term of technological advancement in production and processing.
Even i wouldnot want to believe we will even.be able to capture 10% of the market share now.

China, Japan are one of the most industrialised nation in the world having little land mass to cultivate crops, why not export to them the crops they are unable to cultivate.

Farmers and agro-preneurs in Brazil export 40% of the soybeans to china yearly thereby raking in billions of dollars and yen yearly.

Why can we take advantage of that?

Costa rica farmers generate billions in revenue from exporting plantain chips to all of Europe
Why can't we process too and sell to our neighbours in africa?

A lot of agricproduce can be exported, one just need to have a reliable and trustworthy buyers.

Another thing is knowing the importation laws guiding.the country you are exporting to.
I read from a national.newspaper some time.ago.how US destroyed thousand of tonnes.of.snail imported to the country.from Nigeria
Millions of.naira.just got lost through uninform knowledge of.the rules guiding the importation of snail into that country.
A serious agro-preneur should be looking into the aspect of sourcing/production and exporting as naira continue its free fall.
I recall watching a documentary where NAFDAC said they now have collaborative partnerships with regulatory agencies in other countries such that when a particular food export product has attained a certain certification from NAFDAC, that product is fit for importation by these countries. Needs some researching.

So I would say let us talk about mini-exportation of agric produce.
