Going by Mr. Op's insinuation that western region had less revenue than eastern region, what were they doing with all of their money? because looking at the western region, there were lots of recurrent expenses attached to most of the project and schemes that made them stand out. It is not all about infrastructure as there are schemes like free education policy that was using up the western region government fund constantly, or is he going to use the excuse of Lagos being developed by the eastern region revenue to justify free education all over the west also? Op's argument just doesn't hold water. |

Cowardsss . . . them for no reconsider now! |
Eagles man: you are very stupid for that statement.for ur information, unizik Is the only school that admits students based on merit throughout the south east zonesDo they also "grad based on merit" . . . give it up bro . . . they are just like most of their counterparts when it comes to morals, ethics and integrity |
ujchief: keep foolin ya'self. U actually think unizik is Bida poly! If 300k wil fetch medicine at unizik, i assure u that there wil be a veeeryy long que waiting at the vc's office. Isnt that almost what Lasu pays as school fees per session? My guy, go and read for ya exam.Stop fooling around, nobody pays that amount for admission in unizik?? we know how much they pay to pass their papers and grad with a good result, how can they pay above 200k for admission? |
The big and sensible question here should be, do they really need to admit 9000 students for the sake engaging more people or give 3700 hundred people quality education? Our problem in this country and by extension continent is not quantity but quality. A VC like this needs to be re-evaluated, the man doesn't seem fit to run a school of that magnitude. From his statement it is clear why must public schools are overpopulated. They see prospective students as source of money. |
Lamenting the development, Senator Enang said: “That will be a national shame, humiliation and embarrassment. The refinery in Niger was built with about $200 million and yet we have spent over $1 billion to do turn around maintenance in our refineries which are still not working. It is a shame and I pray that the fuel will not get into the car of any big man.” Senator Obende on his part said: “For me, it shows that if we cannot manage our oil sector, then something is wrong. I do not know when they started because we started first, and oil is our main stay, and that we cannot maintain our local consumption shows that something is wrong.” Obende asked for a total overhaul of the sector. The only reason they are even discussing this is because they are not discussing More Money for themselves. |
ABUJA—SENATORS, yesterday, expressed indignation that Nigeria was now importing petroleum products from its northern neighbour, Niger. The lawmakers who described it as the height of national embarrassment said it was the culmination of the systemic failure in the country’s petroleum industry. Among those who spoke were Senators Ifeanyi Okowa, PDP, Delta North; Domingo Obende, ACN, Edo North; and Ita Enang, PDP, Akwa Ibom North East. The immediate past chairman of the Senate Committee on Upstream Petroleum, Senator Lee Maeba also described it as a national shame. Noting that too many things have gone wrong for the nation to be importing fuel from Niger Republic, Senator Okowa, said: “If we had developed our refineries, we would have got out of this. If they had developed the sector to allow private investors to come in, there would not have been stagnation in the sector. Too many things have gone wrong in the sector. For me wherever we import fuel is not important for now but we need to have appropriate plan to put things in order in the sector.” Senator Obende on his part said: “For me, it shows that if we cannot manage our oil sector, then something is wrong. I do not know when they started because we started first, and oil is our main stay, and that we cannot maintain our local consumption shows that something is wrong.” Obende asked for a total overhaul of the sector. Lamenting the development, Senator Enang said: “That will be a national shame, humiliation and embarrassment. The refinery in Niger was built with about $200 million and yet we have spent over $1 billion to do turn around maintenance in our refineries which are still not working. It is a shame and I pray that the fuel will not get into the car of any big man.” Senator Maeba on his part said: “Nigeria is a market hungry for petroleum products and so the country will go anywhere to get it where it is available. It is shameful that in a region where Nigeria is supposed to dominate in both supplies and in every other criteria that the country is now having to buy from a less endowed nation. It is rather shameful and funny.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/07/senators-decry-nigerias-importation-of-pms-as-shameful-senators/ |

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos, on Tuesday, asked the Federal Government to refund the N16 billion deducted from the state's allocation for investment in power. |
How can PDP, a misfiring political party, displace a performing individual - Oshiomole? It is clear these guys are out to rig their way to 'destiny'. |

For those silly folks comparing private and Public school infrastructure, don't forget that Federal and state govt spends hundreds of thousand on the average on each public sch student and this has been in practice for decades now for most of these schools. The fact that they can even be compared with private schools of less than ten year old speaks volume about public schools standard generally. As for NUC, let them state the offenses of these schools. To me, suspension without any offense = Blackmailing. there are tons of public schools in chaos that have not received any caution. |
I am eagerly awaiting the response of experienced NLders in the IT career path, as i still don't have an answer for my questions yet. |
Some off the problem are deep indeed . . . or how do we explain gross deficiency in character of our principle actors??? |
Nigerians will always be Nigerians!!! How does a High CGPA solve our problems? A good achievement though but most times these kind of folks don't match result with impact. |
Hi Folks, i need your advice concerning which IT Professional level certification is the best recognized and regarded in the Nigerian labour market and beyond. The issue i am faced with right now, is that of Vendor-specific certifications Vs Third-party and vendor-neutral certifications, most IT certifications being advertized and run in Nigeria are Vendor-specific certifications like CCNA, CCNP, SCJP, MCSE, ITIL or Database related ones like MYSQL Administrator and Oracle. What do you guys think will be the best choice in each of the above mentioned categories for Nigerian companies on one hand and Foreign companies on the other hand. Your contributions are highly welcomed. |
great MAULAGITES!!! LOL |
afam4eva: This is a waste of resources if you ask me. Why not equip all school libraries with desktop computers before thinking of giving every student a tablet.Nice suggestion there. That way, we can have restricted and well monitored use for these system. I think Aregbe is lost here. . . Honestly! |
Hi folks, i want to here from those with any experience of data limit to our internet access as a result of MTN Fair Usage Policy. I was just wondering if a connection limited to speed alone can come under such policy. Thanks |

soladisc: This country is something else, simply because this Woman refused to allow corruption in SEC they have to remove her. She refused them to bring in candidate for the recently conducted recruitment, she insisted that promotion should be based on competence and qualification, they refused. The problem in this country is followership not leadership. Someone should please answer this question. She did not refuse any form of corruption here but was found to have carried one out herself. In any case, she is not suppose to give anyone room or reason to remove her like she has done. It is all her fault. |
Strife to be excellent and success will follow you pants down. |
