I will print my own Bear Kingdom money, with an official exchange rate of 20 Bear Dollars to USD.

Clearly the US government would be evil to not accept my exchange rate, yes?

This whole discussion is r3tarded. Supply and demand, yes? If nobody wants to buy what you are selling at the price you want, then find another buyer, right?

How can the person SELLING Biafran pounds dictate to the buyer how much to buy it for?

If you don't like the price the Nigerian government is offering for your Biafran pounds, find another buyer who will give you hard currency for it.

Surely there would have been some Swiss or US bankers who would have been happy to exchange gold, dollars, or swiss francs for the valuable Biafran currency......
tHIS POST IS WHAT I CALL A GENIUS POST . . . Chai, I murder the argument.

Answer my questions. . . Stop going after irrelevant personalities here.
ezeagu: Ahmadou Ahidjo, president for 20 years, shut the borders for unknown reasons in collaboration with Gowon, probably because of Southern Cameroons. I don't even understand why you would think your argument makes sense. If you want to associate your dear leader with a dictator go ahead.
Politics › Re: Atikus Comment About Biafra by Standing5(m): 3:45am On Oct 08, 2012
bashr8: Speaking at a recent Leadership Newspapers Awards event held at Abuja and reported by Thisday Newspaper of September 19th 2012, Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar reportedly stated as follows.

“I want to recall that during the 1994-95 Constitutional Conference, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, the Second Republic vice-president of this federation, introduced and canvassed for the concept of geopolitical zones.

“I was among those who opposed it because I thought that Ekwueme, coming from the defunct Republic of Biafra, wanted to break up the country again.

“Now, I realise that I should have supported him because our current federal structure is clearly not working. Dr. Ekwueme obviously saw what some of us, with our civil war mindset, could not see at the time. There is indeed too much concentration of power and resources at the centre.

“And it is stifling our march to true greatness as a nation and threatening our unity because of all the abuses, inefficiencies, corruption and reactive tensions that it has been generating.

“There is need, therefore, to review the structure of the Nigerian federation, preferably along the basis of the current six geopolitical zones as regions and the states as provinces.

“The existing states structure may not suffice, as the states are too weak materially and politically to provide what is needed for good governance.”

God indeed have blessed igbo leaders with wisdom and foresight but our fellow nigerian are too tribalistic to see that .
What you are celebrating with the bold part above is what the Yorubas and by extension West were talking of when they were skeptical about union Nigeria between 1957 and 1960. If Igbo had any foresight, they wouldn't be in Nigeria today as they should have voted against it, Ekueme was merely recycling some old cliche from the West and Atiku was only being the Normal hungry and politically savy person his people are known to be.
I don't know why the empty barrel has to play the old music the loudest though. . . SMH

ezeagu: "^^ Weak. Buhahahahahaha! Buhahahahahaha!! Buhahahahahaha!!!" Do you know where you are? Have you lost your way? This is history discussion not a thread on pop culture. The information isn't based on how well someone is at arguing, it's all there for yourself. Cameroon closed it's borders to Biafra in 1968. It's good to act mature.
If cameroun closed it borders, what does that tell you about Biafra? Isn't it suppose to put Pa Awo in the same category as Cameroun for technically closing the Nigerian Border too? But No, in the eyes of Chinua Achebe it meant something else.
I guess you know your argument is dead on arrival.

Prof Corruption: They destroyed Nigeria! I don't even know why it's not in our curriculum for small children to learn how Igbo brutally killed leaders of other regions without provocation. How they destroyed federalism and plunged the nation to an avoidable civil war? Some much for a terrible legacy.
The reason they removed civic studies from the secondary sch curricula but i guess it is not working

Rossikk: To the extent that the food supplies were meant to pass through Nigerian-approved corridors, (and they were, following the Nigerian blockade) it was for all intents and purposes, Nigerian food. This realisation accounted for the Biafran govt's refusal at one point, to accept food coming from such channels on the grounds it could be 'poisoned'.
When they tell one lie they always end up needing ten more to cover it up . . .
Politics › Re: Somebody Needs To Write A Book On The Foolishness Of Biafra And Ojukwu by Standing5(m): 9:36pm On Oct 07, 2012
ezeagu: To summarise: the Eastern Region did not declare a war, they voted for secession. Biafra did not consist entirely of Ojukwu and Ojukwu's wishes, he did have others with him in decision who were of different ethnicities including Ijaw and Ibibio. The war was not even meant to be as long as it was according to Nigeria, the major blunder was the saboteurs in the Niger Delta, the help from Egyptian bombers and other nationalities, and the blockade on all fronts (even from aid), if not then the supplies from Israel may have been good enough.
^^ Weak.
Buhahahahahaha! Buhahahahahaha!! Buhahahahahaha!!!
Biafra, as it was then, did not share border with Nigeria alone, why did Biafra not recieve her supplies through Cameroun or any other nation? Simple answer - Ojukwu was too busy playing the victim by accusing the world of one thing or the other while at the same time propagating false image about the situation on ground through pictures of dying children and women. He thougt he was spiting the Nigerians side in the eyes of the world. Go listen to his speeches during the war and you will understand better.

The ibos have been claiming that Pa Awo was the cause of Operation Wetie in the West and that Nzeogwu was trying to help the Yorubas from Operation Wetie by killing its leaders. My question is why go for other Yoruba men when you claimed you believed Pa Awo was the cause of Operation wetie? Or better still, why kill the Northern leaders too and spare Eastern leader when in fact the main political parties in East and North were in a perfect tandem and screwing the west together? The truth can't hide forever. . . Let our igbo eWarriors come up with the reason(s) for this wicked genocidal act . . . As for the reason why Yorubas fought on the side they did, there is the saying that goes "Keep your 'friends' close where you can see them, its not your enemies who get you they are always your own people" - Yorubas had to keep the same people who along with the Northerners voted them into union Nigeria or One Nigeria as it was known then, turn around to kill its leaders and who were ready to starve their own women and children just to stand a chance of wiping out the Yorubas. Awolowo couldn't posibly be maintaining and saving proceed of Igbo owned estates while he made attempt to wipe out the same people.

If u r proud of Achebe, are u also ashamed of Ojukwu who called Pa Awo "the best president Nigeria never had"?
When Ojukwu was alive but old and sickly every 'Igbo' on NL jumped to praise him now he is dead and his place is being taken by Chinua Achebe . . . Kai! . . . Igbos are practically doomed if they continue like this.
Politics › Re: Achebe's Civil War Memoir's Invitation For Fresh War — CPC by Standing5(m): 3:31pm On Oct 07, 2012
nyabingi: the Bifran war was a deliberate ploy to wipe out Ndi Igbo...what I would suggest the critics of Achebe do is to go back to history and find out how things went, Ojukwu did not just wake up one dull Sunday morning only to declare for a state of Biafra, something incidents prompted it what where those incidents, what was the agreement at Aburi Ghana, what was Gowon's response on returning to Nigeria...Indeed a lot of questions demanding answers!
Ojukwu was involved in the war and would never come out to call Awo "the best president Nigeria never had" if Pa Awo was truly what Achebe says he is. . . And btw, Achebe wasn't involved in the war 1% of what ojukwu witnessed. So who are we suppose to believe?

Nashville: From all the contributions made on this topic and similar ones, I can estimate that the unemploymnt rate in Nigeria is about 80%. If y'all had better things to do with your lives, you would not be going around spreading hatred. By the way, Achebe is also very jobless!!
unemployement on a Sunday afternoon? Seems to me you beg by the church side for a living. If not u wouldn't rate unemployement based on observations from a Sunday afternoon.

redsquare: Dunno why Yoruba fools always jump into any Igbo related thread. Yes, 1000 members of MASSOB decamped to AIYO, what happens to the 2 factions of OPC (one led by Frederic Fasheun and the other by Gani Adams)? OPC is divided into 2 factions right from its early days, there have been series of clashes by the 2 factions where lives were lost, yet you 2-face hypocrites pretend as if all is well with OPC/Yoruba land.
you had better not fall for their diversionary tactics here. There is an infinite room for one thing only here and that is improvement.

U av some point there bro but i think Massob's case is different when we consider what the body initially set out to do - which is to actualize a soveriegn state of Biafra. However i still see focus being driven into its vision further because this is just a wake up call.
