Johnrake69: The catholics and Anglicans did it with their missionary schools. Is the church supposed to have bank accounts running into billions? When majority of the members are poor. Who is the church? Our men of God prefer to invest in church buildings than the members of the body of christ whom Christ died for.
What the young man is complaining of is that there is no profit being made from the local assembly because that is the number priority. If there is sincerity on the part of the leaders of today's churches. Surpluses from some branches should be used to supplement others but that's unthinkable. If the wicked world governments can practice that, I wonder how hard it can be for our religious leaders who are meant to be selfless. You don't know what you are talking. How do you take record of who pays tithe? Tithe should go to the needy but then need is different from want. The church to me is trying to satisfy peoples want disguised as need. That money you call billions is when used to meet the peoples need may not even satisfy 10% of what they will present to the church as their needs. So I ask, shld the Church meet peoples need for a short period and stop expansion or should the people be honest and take responsibility? |

Frenchfriez: Brother Pastor Op, abeg I have one question for you: When your church eventually blows and you start raking in lots of tithe money and offerings, , and you start to ride the latest SUVs and fly around the globe in business class with designer wears, would you also be humble to come here and ask us how to spend the soo much money that has fallen on you? Be mature now . . . |

This is serious. I invite StatSocial into this thread. This is the reason Covenant Uni and the likes don't subsidize education to ridiculous level. People will drain the church with lies. This is why I laugh when I see people asking private church-owned unis to bring down fees for tithe and offering payers. How can a man paying N1,000 tithe be enjoying free benefits of N750,000 ? |

I have to conclude that if govt isn't exposing the culprits then it is 99.9% likely to be for the Fulanis. How else do we explain Buhari only being interest about people taking laws into their hands just when Fulanis were killed? The govt has shown clearly that cows are more important than chicken, crops, etc. The south loses the bulk of its resources to the northerners who make the south pay for their own resource and also loses its land to northerners. The guns has to be a northern work if unsolved. |

SonofDevil: Nigeria depends on these 3 things as major source of revenue .
Crude oil- south south 80% South West 14% South east 6%
Industrial taxations- southwest 60% South south 20% North west 15% South East 5 %
Agriculture- north central. 40%
North east 25% South west 20% South south 17% South east 3%
What does the five states of south east region , abia, anambra, IMO, ebonyi, and Enugu generates to federation purse and at what percentage Can't you see what's wrong with your stat. So you mean all the industries in Jos, Kaduna, and other north centre location is Zero. |

Rosskii: So Gabon and Rwanda are more developed and advanced than India, correct?
You do realise that by those indices you stipulated, those two African countries surpass India. You appear not to understand the difference between industrialization and developemt. Industry connotes automated production and development connotes better life and infrastructures to support a better life. Portions of India might be more industrialized and developed than Rwanda, but overall, Rwanda is easily capable of being more developed than India. |
Politics › Re: STOP Comparing Nigeria To Smaller Countries. It Is DAFT. by Standing5(m): 10:53pm On May 06, 2017 |
Rosskii: I have noticed a trend on this site of late.
People come on here and claim how countries like Ghana, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Rwanda etc are all ''more developed than Nigeria''.
Someone even claimed that the Republic of Benin and Togo, were ''more developed than Nigeria''.
I mean, really...... this nonsense has to stop.
You see, by the same criteria these folks use, one can equally claim that GABON is more developed than India.
Why? Because India has more slums, more poor people, more power outages, more corruption, more bad roads, more violence, more illiteracy and deprivation, than Gabon. In fact millions of times more.
The average Gabonese has a higher standard of living than the average indian, as shown by the UN HDI:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_Human_Development_Index
Gabon's GDP per capita is $14,600, compared to India's $7,000
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Gabon
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_India
Gabon has a population of 1.7 million, while India's is 1.3 billion.
SO, IF YOU CLAIM THAT THOSE SMALL COUNTRIES LIKE ZIMBABWE AND GHANA ARE ''MORE DEVELOPED'' THAN NIGERIA, YOU MUST ALSO ACCEPT THAT GABON IS MORE DEVELOPED THAN INDIA.
Discuss. You barely made sense. What matters in development is the standard of living. This isn't measured by size but by certain indices like power, transportation ease, education, doctor to citizen ratio etc and those small countries have better indices compared to the giant with cancer, hiv, aids n typhoid that's Nigeria. Get it? |
