Mannylex: Wow! Wonderful thread. And to think I have Been scrolling past it all this while. Stanley you are doing a good job here.FINALLY! Someone who appreciates my work! Cheers mate. ![]() Mannylex: Stanley, need your help. Never been on a custom rom before, but would like to try out one. Please which is the best custom rom and kernel I could use? and please help out with the steps I could use in flashing one. I use an S2 and currently run stock jelly bean 4.1.2... Would be expecting your response. Thanks. Here is my guide on flashing custom ROMs mate! And while there is no such thing as the 'Best ROM' really, because many of them are good, and there are basically 4 types of ROMs, maybe even more 1. Custom Stock which is optimised/tweaked stock ROMs and my FAV! 2. AOSP (Android Open Source Project) which is untouched Android ROM, straight from Google, the way it was planned to be. ![]() 3. AOKP (Android Open Kang Project) blah blah - I hate it, I don't even really know much bout it. 4. MIUI ROMs - I don't really know how to describe them, but they give dat kinda iPhoney feel -ish ANYWAYS! I am part of the two best Samsung ROM makers teams in the world. ![]() I recommend NEAT ROM Lite - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569686 And OMEGA ROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1489197 CHEERS!!! ![]() holar37: pls, is there anybody in the house that can help with s3 rooting and hd games in Abk?Only if you have International GT-I9300 S3 then download, extract and flash the .tarfile in the zip I will post below; using 'PDA' option in ODIN to root ur phone. Don't know what PDA or ODIN or all the rubbish i'm talking about is? Read up first few pages! But instead of stock ROM, just flash this below! Cheers! Remember! ONLY GT-I9300 INTERNATIONAL VERSION, If you come back and say ur phone was not I9300 and you brick ur phone, I will Laugh at you.http://download.chainfire.eu/229/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.zip |
caukerzee: App developers will surely be working on some powerful large RAM draining apps. 2gb RAM just last year was deemed surplus. Now it ain't.Actually! On my S4, I almost always have 1GB+ FREE RAM. ![]() |

JeffreyJamez: Wetin be the price naaaaaaa make I know wetin to dey sell.... 3GB ram!! OLUWA O!!!!Dude, don't compare 3GB RAM of PC to 3GB RAM of a phone, even tho it is LPDDR3, you will only be fooling urself. However, Free RAM is wasted RAM as it is not doing any work. -_- But yes, it is a powerful phone! 9jadelta: That's one powerful phoneIt sure is! |
kardinalz: @stanely pls help,ma sgs3 does nt connect to hotspot from other deviece like nokia fonesDude! These phones are sharing the connection as Adhoc and not AccessPoint (AP) if you can connect to regular WiFi routers then you are fine. And why do people keep calling me STANELY?!!! MY NAME IS STANLEY! |
Emekayoung: Give me reasons why u claim it's the best.I won't get technical with this issue, but BBM is more secure and has more content. Do you know that every content you send through whatsapp can be accessed by the people at whatsapp in California?! No! It's not same for BBM, in fact LAI LAI! . Anyways, whatsapp has advantage because it is cross-platform. Lets wait till BBM goes cross platform then we will see if it lives or dies! ![]() |
gbozy: @Stanley nd nani thanks wud keep u updatedCheers mate! ![]() |

zeelo2014: A big thank u to all the experts here especially Stanley08,ur detailed steps made it so easy. Just upgraded to 4.1.2,its cool. I noticed the power button doesn't bring out options like before. How do u take screenshot? Cos pressing the power button turns it off. Yet to browse on it for now.The idea of writing the steps was to make it easy. Hold power and home key at the same time for about 2 seconds... |
ibot_jaycob: Not like I'm praising BB but, its actually cheaper to use, my S3 na so so zap he dey chop mb, if there's no cheat u cnt enjoy it, but bb is still better pocket wise, which is y I can't sell my Bld 5. So the bbm coming to android aint really news for meGuy! Pay 1K2 for 1GB on Airtel and enjoy ur thing on ur S3. I have S4 and i am rocking it. I can't even finish 1GB sometimes sef... And yh, i know how to control my data. wrench: what's so special about the pinging? Huh?Let me give you 2 FACTS 1. Blackberry Messenger is the BEST messenger in the world! pheforusty: .....samehere!! W3xy1: when will they release itPatience. Summer is not yet over kunlesehan: bb ... black burial ... lolAs long as you have Android 4.0 ICS and above, Yes! But for now, it's coming to only Samsung phones and only in Africa. timpaker:Blackberry said Summer 2013, and some random person decided to put a date on it, i get from direct sources. Dats why June 27 was a joke to me. ![]() |
Kingslaw:Lol. This guy don sell him BB. ![]() yemmit90: BBM and probably BIS are the reasons I still use BB. Thank you Samsung! BB suck in terms of free applications.BBM is the only reason it seems 'sane' to use a Blackberry Messenger in the 21st century. Now that they are losing that EXCLUSIVE feature, It's RIP BB. Btw, they are looking to se;; thier company. Make boys see if we go fit join money buy am.. E no go too cost like that. ![]() |
Prince4God: I think this is the best comment on this thread. Laugh wants to kill me.Dats about right! ![]() |
honsule: Am tired of this hullabaloo about BBM coming to samsung soon.In fact,i want to sell my Samsung Galaxy S3 for a BlackberryPATIENCE = VIRTUE! Anyone who does dat should be prosecuted, you are a lawyer so you should understand when i say the verdict should include The Death Penalty. ![]() |
adaobi123: All I want to know is the release date !!You will get it when you get it! ![]() |
adaobi123: There's a thread already.....I thought as much! But however i had already created one - https://www.nairaland.com/1403194/confirmed-blackberry-messenger-coming-samsung |
While many of us have heard the 'rumor' saying that BBM will be available on Android and iOS and doubted it. Well, i won't blame anyone for doubting it, because this 'rumor' has been around for sometime now. This was doubted probably because the general idea was that blackberry phones use BIS and without BIS you can't make use of BBM, but upon the release of the Blackberry Z10, the first ever blackberry phone (BB10) to operate BBM with regular internet data, it was proven that BBM can indeed work with regular data and BIS is not compulsory. But anyways! I want to now bring to your notice that this is NOT a rumor! At least, not anymore. Blackberry has decided to take BBM cross-platform to both Android (4.0 and above) and iOS (6.0 and above). But first, BBM will be available for Only Samsung Smartphones and only in Africa to start with, then from there they will expand to other smartphone and other parts of the world and of course to iOS sometime later. Blackberry set the release date as 'Summer 2013', which means that we are expecting BBM on Samsung phones in Africa before August runs out! And as the photo above shows, it is currently being tested. And if you have been watching SuperSports then you have seen the Advert.Quoting a post from New24 "Samsung announced on Tuesday that BlackBerry Messenger, that chat service popular on BlackBerry devices, will be launched on Galaxy smartphones. "Offering BBM on Galaxy smartphones in Africa will give Samsung customers access to the BBM social network, including BBM chats, multi-person chats and BBM Groups, which allows BBM customers to create groups of up to 30 people, as well as the ability to share photos and voice notes," Samsung said. In May, News24 reported that BlackBerry announced the expansion of BBM to non-BlackBerry devices at the company's BlackBerry Live event in Orlando, Florida. "Upon release, BBM customers would be able to broaden their connections to include friends, family and colleagues on other mobile platforms," BlackBerry said at the time. The mobile ecosystem has resulted in a range of instant messaging applications that are not device dependant and BlackBerry is highly motivated to expand its service as apps like WhatsApp and WeChat gain momentum. Reciprocal manoeuvre Samsung has long had its own messaging app called ChatON, and the company hinted that BBM would augment its own offerings. "Value added services are considered a prerequisite in the fast-paced, challenging environment that exists today and as a result, we will continue to drive innovation through our smart hub functionalities to ensure our consumers have the choice which they desire," said George Ferreira, vice president of Samsung Electronics Africa. In what can be interpreted as a reciprocal manoeuvre, ChatON was available on the BlackBerry World store from 6 August BBM has around 50 million monthly active users who send about 10 billion messages per day. The platform is also due to be launched on iOS, but no dates have been announced. The BBM for Samsung Galaxy phones will be available on Google's Play Store" So my Advice is that you SELL YOUR BLACKBERRY PHONES for something now while it still has some value! Or dash it to your younger ones by next month because the demand for Samsung phones will TRIPLE in coming weeks! Cheers! ![]() |
adaobi123: Of course most ladies will agreeAmen to dat! ![]() And btw, BBM is coming to Samsung phones in Africa, expected later this month. I'm making a new thread on that now. ![]() |
adaobi123: 5.68 inchesThe bigger the better! Yeah! And i'm sure many ladies will agree with you too! ![]() Anyways, the Note 3 will be amazing! Dat is for sure! How amazing? We only have to wait to find out. ![]() |
Samsung has dropped the 16GB variant of the Note 3 and the Note 3 will ship with only 32 and 64GB models! That is good news! As the 16GB Exynos S4 actually has only 8.90GB available storage and 9.23GB on the I9505.Also, the Note III is expected to go on sale by the 4th week of September! ![]() More Info here - http://www.sammobile.com/2013/08/19/samsung-to-ship-galaxy-note-iii-from-september-galaxy-gear-smartwatch-from-october/ |

mcgboye: Apart from all these improvement in specs over the Note 2, which are massive, what innovation does this new device being? You know, something (a feature) not in the Note 2. Someone who might be interested wants to know. The phone will be Launched on the 4th of September, and that is where samsung will unveil all the goodies they have for us! Just like they did in the Part 1 of the Unpacked Event. So until then, no one can really tell. However, they have more screen to work with, so it's exciting to know what they will bring, till then..
