jhydebaba: Someone should just take the votes and give us an answer at the end of the day.

UNITY BANK
Huh? UNI-what? Na that bank worse pass.
BusinessRe: Which Of The Nigerian Banks Is More Reliable? by StateOfMind: 8:10am On Mar 02, 2013
Pataki: GTB is the most useless bank in Nigeria! I have never seen such a useless bank like theirs before. Very poor and appalling customer service. They look at you as if you are coming to beg money from them.

Before coming to Nigeria, I used to think the bank was all that. However my first hand experience with them shows that they are better off packing up their services. That bank gives me a headache at all times.

Zenith bank and First bank are the only reliable banks in Nigeria.
I concur! GTB is overated. I still don't understand how they haven't figured how to control their crowd. They have really few branches and its like that In most cities I've been to. I just hate it when I have a cause to go to their banking hall for any form of transaction. The queue alone can make you go numb and their customer servuce is really poor.

@Op, first bank it is. Too reliable. Good customer service with functioning atms, and easily accessible.

Hahaha, I dint know you already talked about it, but I figured the name immediately sha *pops collar*.

Was also once a fan of games section, with my former handle though. And I see you having fun with most of your posts promoting garri and ijebu , ever-patriotic you grin.

As regards that mumu thread, I'm sick of some Nigerian men mentality. Whatever happened to live and let live? Always on the offensive which just shows their insecurity. And the 'are you 30' got me laughing out loud. I'm so far from 30 na. But a few friends of my eldest sister are unmarried at 29-31. They all have their reasons, but the mumu frustrated men here are too shallow to figure there aren't even available decent men to go round. The most annoying thing is that the brokest and laziest of them will sit behind his palasa phone and call women greedy, living hollyhood life and don't wanna face reality. Reality to them is 'marry a broke guy that comes your way and build together'. Whatever happened to choices o jare?..

Ok, I'm beginning to write another epistle..hohoho

How every? How are those curves of yours? Hope seun still dey gbadun them.

As regards jare's cousins, no way buddy, the only thing you know how to prepare is jollof rice and That is no where near wife materialism. Try 1111.

And lastly, I see you lurking around games section, now who is the man wrapper?? *disappears into thin air*
RomanceRe: What Are The Reasons For High Level Of 30 Years+ Single Ladies In Nigeria? by StateOfMind: 11:08pm On Mar 01, 2013
babanne: u are so wrong.not setlig 4 less means lookin 4 an already wealthy person.d question is:is marriage all about money?money & material things are d reason many ladies remain unmarried because they are lookin 4 wealthy men.they dont know d essence of marriage.seconf, one reason 4 high divorce is due lack of respect on d part of d woman & their inability 2 submit to their husband as god want them to be.i advice that you stop preaching matetialism as a basis for marriage and allow serious prospective wifes to think about d essence of mayrimony, which are LOVE, SUBMISSION AND RESPECT.
I put it to you that you are a broke guy and that broke state has affected your reasoning. How does 'not settling for less' translate to 'marry for money'. How has she preached materialism in her post? Stop being unnecessarily insecure. Go out there and work hard to take care of your family. When you are done doing that, open your eyes and search for good girls in the right places.

Most of you see decent and responsible ladies staring at you in the face but you fail to notice or go after them, instead you'll want to boost you ego by running after fake and golddigging ladies. And when you get burnt, you run to nairaland to scream ALL ladies are goldiggers.
RomanceRe: What Are The Reasons For High Level Of 30 Years+ Single Ladies In Nigeria? by StateOfMind: 11:01pm On Mar 01, 2013
thehunted: Reply to ur point one. There is hardly a good girl who wouldn't see a guy to marry. Hardly.

Your points 2,3,4 are so rare.
You forgot to add the adjective 'good' to the guy too.

It aint about getting someone to marry, its also about a 'good' girl getting a good guy to marry.

Many nairaland guys, broke and rich(broke ones being in the majority) are always quick to label women greedy and after their supposed big account. So I ask, Who are those settling down with the broke\average guys? Their fellow men? Are all married nigerian men rich? Are all marriages rich marriages? Are all married women broke?
RomanceRe: What Are The Reasons For High Level Of 30 Years+ Single Ladies In Nigeria? by StateOfMind: 10:51pm On Mar 01, 2013
luvmijeje: Oops am seeing this late.I said it,most people on NL have been programmed to think one way.So immediately u see less,it means settling for a rich guy.
Fine, money is an important ingredient but is relative as far basic necessities of life is met.
Now,at this stage due to alot of influence, people get marry for the sake of I want to get marry. When I wrote 'less' I mean settling for a guy that is abusive,a wife beater, irresponsible etc.A guy u know u wont settle for if not for the pressure.
Welcome to nairaland.

The men here read what they want to read and understand what they want to understand.

They talk as if its only a woman that Is supposed to be of good character for marriage to take place. If you are a woman and you are not married at 30, you are greedy, promiscuous, not submissive, a gold digger, irresponsible,a feminist, barren, possessed, just name any bad thing.

But if you are a man and you are still single at 40, then you are a reasonable man taking his time to search well and not jumping into marriage, searching for a good wife material, trying to be financially capable of being the breadwinner, etc.

That's the society we live in. Women must share ALL the blame always.

If a woman opens a thread today on why
She doesn't need\want to get married, you'd see heaps of insults on that thread, but let a man open a similar thread, he'll receive pats on the back.

Someone was even suggesting men shouldn't give attention to women in their 30s like such women's lives depend 100% on their future spouses.

Marriage is NOT a do or die affair and I hope most of these never-ready men can just shusssh it!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Questions On Sending CV Via Email by StateOfMind: 12:57pm On Mar 01, 2013
ObamaUS: Thanks very much for your kind observations.I am an employer of labour and i placed an advert in one of the dailies on January 1st,2013.
It was very disturbing to find out that over 80% of applicants including unexperienced and fresh graduates sent their CVs to my email without introducing themselves and even addressing the CV to the recruiter.
Áll what they do is "Pls find attached,My CV,FYI'.
It got to a point i had to mail some of them and sincerely advised them never to do such things as it turns recruiters off because they receive thousands of emails and CVs and they can be put off with any little stuff.
It's quite disrespectful and rude to just send a CV without any introduction of yourself and respectful way of addressing the employers.

Please recruiters all over the world get put off with all these childish and arrogant mode of applying for jobs.

Most Nigerian graduates are not cultured and just because they have blackberry, they just think they can forward CVs to employers thinking manna will fall from heaven.
Most of the time the meaning you are passing to such recruiters is that you don't value such jobs and that is why you can just forward your CV leaving the recruiter to open the attachment.
Let's change our attitude and orientation. There are jobs in Nigeria. You only need to have the right attitude and the skills to get such jobs.
I just hired somebody yesterday on a monthly salary of N350k.The guy was very respectful in his application and mode of sending his CV.God bless you guys and God bless Nigeria
MOELLIOTT: I recruit abroad. And in agreement with poster, I do consider maturity based on email addresses. The higher you go or want to go, the more important these things become.

The issue of CV sent via Blackberry itself isn't main challenge, the highlight is the fact that it was sent without at least a short cover letter.

By all means send the CV even with your BB, but with a brief mail - short greet, brief introduction (I am responding to advert for ... in abc journal dated), one line - selling yourself (I am a first class graduate of....). Then one line - saying why you believe you are suited to post - note three inputs here a, b and c - (a. knowledge) My education ....., b. skills I have ABC skills (I am good at)...... and c. experience in/at/over xyz years (include paid and voluntary work - eg time spent helping uncle John in his small soap factory as well)...... makes me most suited for the advertised position of....).

New paragraph - one line - notifying recipient the CV is attached and a closure stating you wait to hear - All very brief.

I have been told many feel the need to "beef up" the company they are applying to - don't over do it. e.g. I beg to apply to work in your most esteemed, renowned, highly placed, reputable, international organisation. It is not needed and you are not begging, you are applying. Rather say, I would like to be considered for the position of ....... It sounds and reads better.

Thank God for internet - please if job hunting, access form filling and interview skills sites and train yourself on how it should be done. If you need help, always ask someone who you know is good at it.

Always REMEMBER you are competing against 100's of others for the post. The recruiter is going through so many applications. Help him and help yourself - MAKE YOURS STAND OUT! It requires effort.

Every success.

You both are the unreasonable ones here. No common sense at all.

Where did y'all put your deductive reasoning?

Typical of them to just jump at people's post with insults..mscheww.

N.B- I'm obviously taking it personal, was too pissed none of them couldnt figure the original post was modified, instead they joined the bandwagon to insult unnecessarily

By the way, who are u blaming for your short sightedness, Nigerians or your father? Better be yo father dickkhead.
Most of you nairaland men are to quick to call women b.ittch, ashawo and many other uncouth names. Seriously, who raised you people? Where did you grow up?

In this case its so uncalled for.

Latecomers!!!!
You lack basic comprehension and deductive reasoning- analysing the posts adjacent to mine should have made you realise that!!!
Behaving like Nigerian police-common sense you people don't have!!!!
Respect your useless selves. Always ready to dish out insults!!Typical hungry looking frustrated people, slow to bless eager to insult!!!
It shows you lead miserable lives!!!
What a nation??!!![/size]
I was also surprised to see most of dish out insults . Going by the posts before yours, a reasonable person should have figured the original post was modified. The three\four of you couldn't have seen the wrong time.

On a more serious note, one has to be extremely careful these days. So many mad people roaming the streets. Any little encounter or confrontation could get one stabbed.

Michky: Am very certain that this is the same mentality that got the wife hospitalized today. If you were stronger shey? You too will soon get the hospital treatment deserving of you real soon. Its a guarantee.
What can be guaranteed is you ending up behind bars or hung to death if you continue with this cowardice mentality.

991: next time, as she lifts her palms to slap you, hold her hand, look directly into her eyes and say, 'Don't You Dare!!' believe me fear go catch her. grin
Was about to type this before I read your reply. Since mum has refused to listen, stand up to her! Hold her hand..stop her midway (well, that's assuming you see the slap coming).

I don't even buy the idea of slapping someone, I have never slapped someone and I can't remember the last time I got slapped. Its not a healthy form of correction at all.

Btw, your opening post is funny Op..lol

You dey mind these cowards? I keep saying if women have as much physical strength as these women beaters, they would think twice before raising their hands on women.
SportsRe: John Pantsil, Stabs Wife In The Eye by StateOfMind: 10:11am On Feb 23, 2013
Michky: Foo! If she had approached the guy maturedly, the matter wont have gotten out of hand. That's for sure. As we see in Op's post, she brought up the matter many times. Do you think a woman that wants peace would do that?
And because of that she deserves the stab..why didnt the guy respond maturely too since we talking of maturity here??
FamilyRe: My 2month-old Baby Fed Baby Food Without My Consent! by StateOfMind: 11:26am On Feb 22, 2013
kunmibola: @CC, pls don't mix things up. They were not away for three days rather, the exercise lasted for 3days. During the exercise I was almost always around the baby which is always in the care of my wife's friend who works in the complex. Once the baby cries, the lady would call my wife to come attend to her. Most times, the baby is always sleeping especially during the day. The day my inlaw came around, I was even th eone who took her to where my baby was after which I called my wife to come greet her. I left there and I returned after like thirty mins to see the feeding bottle with the food. My wife was nt even busy then cos I called her to come. Hence, had it been the baby was crying they could have contacted her to come. The issue is, this woman came with the intention of feeding the baby. I dnt have any issue with my wife but the woman... The is too troublesome!
Where did the inlaw in question get the feeding bottle and food? Did she come with it from her house with the intention to feed your baby with it? I'm lost here please.
