currentprice: many of us on d sideline now will eventually miss the current opportunities or able to buy when stock rise for about 35 to 45% when the bull show face.
this GTB H1 Audited report shows that there is nothing serious that will affect banking result/dividend at year end. Hmm forward pe of less than 4 with roe of about 30%...
wait and see zenith result which I believe will be better than this.
note; i enter mkt last week and still loaded with some cash to load more soon Keep buying ....we are still waiting. Match / April yr end is still very far! Goodluck |

Eti is even tending towards 15 years low.
LOL. The drop is affecting me, but I really don't care! FG wakes up and just announce policies without knowing the effects. Security is zero, and you are busy restricting this and that and putting pressure on CBN. Let's not even talk about the borrowing. If you are a fund manager with $1 billion will you look at the present day Nigeria, when other African countries are doing better? I rest my case |

Mcy56: Dear bros, sorry I have to quote you, the thing is that many knew the truth but sadly we dont ACT it. A lot goes into the problem on ground, PMB is just another phase of its continuation and not necessarily the cause. You know very well more than this, lets not be addressing the issue on the surface! Make I stop there, I no get strength to argue. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by stcool(m): 11:13am On Aug 15, 2019 |
We as a people don't want to hear the truth...
PMB is a mistake and if we keep quiet...it will repeat itself and even worst in 2023!
Nigeria I know has never gotten better since childhood!
After 4years the damage down to the economy would be irreversible!
GTB Nigeria's biggest bank is chasing people up and down to take loan at lowest cost...yet people are scared because the economy direction is not clear. And you think all is well!
Even the rate at which GTB is given out loans is killing fintech loan start ups! |

rebekah2011: I think we need to always put sentiments aside when commenting on a volatile issue like this. We all want to buy shares with good fundamentals but not definitely wishing that everything should crash to teach lessons. Who will carry the brunt? Let it crash, it won't be the first time! We need to learn real lesson in this country! And do the right thing. |

onegentleguy: A FRESH PERSPECTIVE ON LAFARGE WAPCO
Looking through the current financials of WAPCO, it seems that the company is now on a good path to resurgence !! But then, someone might say; U have always criticized the coy in the past, so what has changed? Well, the result has changed, I would simply answer !! Good a thing, they drew their inference using the phrase; 'in the past'. Like I always tell folks;
"I know of a man who was 'drowned in the vicissitudes of the stock market'. ...his pathways was built around the PAST than the future. ...until the PRESENT left him behind !!" ~Sinclair
With WAPCO, it will be better to adopt a present and forward looking approach than relying on the past at this time. Why, u may ask; 3 factors are @ play here(though now in the opposite direction)
1) LAFARGE' current FX denominated loans are HEDGED. The company learnt a bitter lesson after it had a combined FX related loss of near N37B between 2016 to 2017. ...The aftermath of which became extremely difficult for them to come off from. What it has now done is to seek fx cover/protection for its dollar related loans from the CBN. ...which was done via a non-deliverable forward contract format. The interpretation of this is that LAFARGE is well covered should the CBN decide to devalue the Naira later this year or anytime for that matter.
2) The company is no longer working for the banks as was the case prior to this time. Cost line accruals from their high debt burden has been eased out by near 90% following the many delaveraging efforts from back to back rights, the divestment of their South African arm(which was loss-making for the most part) and internal structural changes.
3) Efforts @ restructuring and innovative drives aimed @ romping up revenue(from more sales) and boosting earnings.
Any Jack will agree that these 3 factors(working against the company at the time) was mainly the drag the company suffered. ...particularly in the last 8 quaters. But with these factors now playing in favour of it, the company is now in a great position to MANAGE and OPTIMIZE COST and boost earnings going forward. Current financial print(H1 2019) also lends much credence to this.
The sooner we learn to align as soon as we can see through the future, the BETTER !! It is now well with Mr WAPCO !!
Again, NOT a recommendation. I know say you don load WAPCO...we are waiting for it to retest support N10-12. GTB N20 Zenith N15 Fidelity Sub N1.50 NSE we have learnt never to be in a hurry! January/Feb is still very far... Sleep mode activated again. |

Chibuking81: Bear are present in the market, seems to be a strategy to accommodate airtel new comma in ASI. , Investors never give up but keep on buying more, monthly, as far as the companies result is sound, don't panic. See these stocks they will make people super rich on or before final year result, which will happened in less than nine months. 1. Fidelity 2. FCMB 3. ACCESS 4. UBA 6. Zenith 7. GTB 8. Caverton 9. Ucap 10. Eterna 11.Afripudent. 12. Dangote cement
If investors should have the mind of farmers. They plant healthy yam, and expect times two of what they planted, which result of their expectations always come to pass, even more than they expected. The healthy yam always die off on its process to produce times two of its initial one. Any new farmer that attempt to be checking his planted yam will loose hope on seeing his healthy planted yam decaying.
He might be pushed to dig it out and eat it up, if some part are still OK. But an experience farmer will keep on expanding his farm with full assurance that he will harvest times two of what he planted on a too soil/land.
Lesson number 1. Any yam planted during the planting period always yielded times two of its initial. In NSE, now is planting period and by January to March is the harvest period, up to April.
2. In farming, the planted crops dies off and successfully produced more than times two of its initial, while in NSE, the initial don't die off, but can only reduces during the planting period, and produces times two, if invested on sound fundamental stock, like those mentioned above.
3.Farmers planted in a good/fertile soil, and avoid those areas that underperformed. In NSE good/fertile soil are the sound fundamental stocks.
4. In farming the planted crops reward the owner, with new crops more than they one planted, in NSE, the invested capital reward the owner, with (a) Dividend payment (b) bonus share if giving and (c) capital appreciation.
The initial capital invested in 100% Mentioned stocks above can be fully recovered in 8 years and some 10/12 years, on dividend payment. Just small panic today see analysis... Planting season never reach. Mine is late planting from Dec - Jan that time GTB will be at N20 and below. Seems you don't know what is happening in the country...No FPI is coming into this market yet |
