What I just saw from Wiggins this post season just confirms what i have always thought. A lot of franchises waste years in trying to make a player what he is not. Wiggins just put up his best Pippen act, guard the oppositions best wing player, grab as many rebounds as you can, and average 15-18pts.
This guy who was ridiculed for years because he was been given a role that was more than be could handle, just became the 2nd best player on a championship team.
That's why I don't like when people shit on players just because they're on a bad team. You don't get drafted number one if you can't ball.

Wiggins has been solid the entire finals. Even when Steph was cooking. Even Poole benefitted from the way steph was being defended. The thing with the Celtics is, I'm not sure they have much else to offer. The warriors are defending Tatum and Brown really well. There is no guarantee they can win game 6. The stakes are very high and this is when the inexperience shows. While the warriors have adjusted well to limit their turnovers, the Celtics have not improved.
I don't know what benefit you're talking about. Didn't he score like 14 points? Poole would score that regardless of how Steph is guarded.

But talking about game 6, no team in this series has shown outright dominance over the other. Any team is capable of winning on any given night. I pick the Celtics because they're going back to the Garden, although I realise home court has counted for little in this series. But I think the Celts will make this one count knowing they have nothing else to hold onto. GS should wrap it up in 7 though.

He didn't play like thrash. He didn't play as well as he used to. He had 8 assists. The Celtics were guarding him one on one prior, they finally decided to throw everything at him this game. The downside to this strategy is that it leaves the other players wide open. His gravity and conditioning means you cannot fully focus on him. And the other warriors can actually knock down shots if you leave them open.
So the big question for the Celtics is whether they let curry do his thing next game or they stay glued to him and d are others to beat them. The warriors have tasted blood. They are leading the series for the first time, their defence is locked in. I won't be surprised if this ends in 6.
Nah man, did you watch the game? I know they guarded Steph better, but did you see how aggressive Wiggins was? That had nothing to do with Steph. The only person that benefitted from Steph's guarding was probably Klay, as he always does.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 6:18am On Jun 14, 2022
You know a guy has enough help when he plays like trash and his team still wins nonetheless.

So now that we've discarded that myth about Steph not having enough help, I can't wait for game 6. I'm predicting a Celtics win and I'm staking on it too. There's gonna be a game 7.

With the playoffs winding down, is there still anyone taking CJ mccollum over Jalen Brown.
If the game was just offense, I'd probably take CJ. But Brown is a two-way player so he gets my vote.

I don't think anywhere is comparing this current warriors team to that 2018 Cavs.
It was a mighty, otherworldly carry job by Lebron to take them to the finals
. Having said that I think a better representation of things would be to compare how badly both supporting cast did in the finals.
I don't think any other warriors has cracked 20 points apart from klay in game 3.
Points are spread out pretty finely in this Warriors team. Klay is giving 17.3, Wiggins is giving 16.5, Poole is giving 12.5. That's over 45 points from 3 players.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 12:28pm On Jun 13, 2022
It's amazing that some Warriors fans here have been crying that Steph has no help. This is how spoilt they've been in the past decade grin And they've played 2 fewer games than the Cavs did in 2018

Not in this series though. Even the stuff he does well, he has not been doing so well.
He has more fouls than points, fouled out twice and had to be pulled out of the game in the 4th quarter.
For Kerr to take out Draymond in the 4th quarter when they were trailing, know say water Don pass Garri. The comeback was completed without him and he had to be brought in for defense.
Of course if you watched that game yesterday you'd agree defense wasn't their problem. They needed scoring, and the easiest person to pull out was Dray. He still played 32 mins, which is more than what he's averaging in this playoff. I agree he's been a little under par in this series, but we can't suddenly ignore what he's contributed this playoff.

Really? Why is it showing up in the box score for other great defenders?

when last did he win DPOY? What is his last year blk/game, steals per game?
Bros, it's showing where it matters. He had 8 assists, 9 rebounds and 4 steals in yesterdays game. I'm sure that counts for something. Don't tell me you expect Draymond Green to score 15+ every game.

Wasn't he an all-star this year?

What annoys me is that the guy talks so much, you will think he is the reason they have rings. Meanwhile Curry no dey talk. Klay no dey talk. The guys that make this thing work dey humble. Meanwhile scrub PF/C is doing podcast up and down
What Draymond does doesn't show up in the box score. He's the leader of their defense and instigator of their offense.

The story of that Finals was thoroughly rewritten in favour of LeBron completely sidelining Kyrie. LeBron averaged 29PPG in that series while Kyrie averaged 27. They got thoroughly walloped the first 2 games, won game 3, lost game 4. Then Draymond got suspended and the rest is history.
Kyrie averaged more PPG than Steph in that series but the media would have us believe LeBron carried a bunch of bums to the finals.
LeBron's team were arguably better on a player by player basis.
Lol. Box score analyst

This would have been arguable were they not facts. Curry got doubles 20x more than Durant.
Durant didn't do anything remarkably different, his job was just wayyyy easier because another dude was distracting the entire defense. He could have been 4x finals MVP if he had stayed put. His playing style didn't work with Westbrook because that one was focused on securing his own points.
Any high volume scorer would have won FMVP with curry because playing with curry just makes it easier to score. Put Anthony Davis in that warriors team and he'd be finals MVP too.
Abi no be highest scorer on the winning Team be finals MVP?
Did I hear someone mention Anthony Davis? cool

Shut up and learn. The point is you said never achieved in 10 years what Luka has achieved in 4. He got to the finals in 2006 and lost 4-2. I can only beat what's in front of me. Luka is yet to get to the finals. Very very simple fact. You rate a guy just based on his individual performance? How much a guy has to work with is quite subjective, especially when the players in question are not stars. No player on Dirk's team was even an all-star in 2006, and yet he got to the finals. cheesy grin
OK finals appearance is now an achievement. Noted. grin

Congrats to the GOAT LeBron James for making his 18th all-NBA selection. That's no small feat at 37 years. He definitely would have made 1st or 2nd team if he didn't have a shitty team. We go again next year.
