ESPN put up this question on Twitter yesterday and I'm shocked a couple of people chose something other than windy day. As long as the ball bounces then we good. No net shouldn't even be much of an issue. Double rims? Just shoot better. But you see that wind? It basically f*cks everything up—your dribble, your passes, and most annoyingly, your shots (and that includes layups).

And what could be the game plan? To wait until the 3rd quarter before they begin to play well?

The team started slowly, but destroyed Mozambique in the second half! They channeled the spirit of the US teams at the Olympics
Yea. It was actually very concerning. Maybe they just needed to get in the feel of things.

Yeah, you right. Lots of bigger bodies - again I see it as insurance to have a viable team if Lebron or AD goes down. These are all has been players, but what they bring is not necessarily shown in the stats. Its the veteran presence, know how and calm. At the very least no team can bully you on the floor.

One weakness though, it doesnt account for teams that can win playing small ball, like the Warriors. This will be a problem to solve come playoffs
AD can be our small ball centre. Or even LeBron. The essence of small ball is to have mobile centres/PFs that can switch multiple positions on defense as well as be able to do their primary duty of protecting the rim. And also be able to spread the floor on offense and be able to knock down shots wherever they find themselves. AD can be that guy, LeBron too.

Looks like the Lakers are going back to the formula that won them the chip in 2020: agile big men who can grab rebounds and protect the rim. Gasol is as good as gone. With enough playmaking and shooting now the least they need is an immobile center that does more playmaking and shooting than rebounding and protecting the rim. I see a lot of sense in the acquisition of DeAndre. He's good for the regular season, just as JaVale was.

The Lakers are deeper than Mia Khalii say those point. The NBA has too be a joke.

I wish they had picked up IT instead. But I guess the emphasis is on size for defense vs offense
Well, one is a scorer while the other is a playmaker. They chose playmaking. I think we need more of that with the way this team is built.

Thats how you know Skip no understand basketball grin I would like to see Rondo back on the Lakers though. He wont win you a ring, but he is very smart, complemented Lebron well on the floor
I don't mind him being the backup to the backup point guard. At this stage of his career he can't be a key factor on a championship team.

Nigeria drop their first game at the Afrobasket 77-68 against Ivory Coast. They'll play the loser of Sudan vs Uganda in the next round.

Ivory Coast extent the lead. It's 54-47 at the end of the third quarter.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 2:58pm On Aug 29, 2021
It's half time in the third group game between Nigeria and Ivory Coast. Nigeria crawled back from a large deficit to go within two points of their West African neighbours, but two late three pointers, including a buzzer-beater bank shot, from Ivory Coast sees them trail by 5 points going onto the break.

Nigeria 34-39 Ivory Coast
