People go just go read box score then come here begin cap. Lol. AD that was virtually playing on one leg throughout the game. Has AD ever had a game where he had zero free throws? Because they had no option than to throw an undersized THT on Giannis, una come here dey shout 47. Best big man in the league when healthy. Read am again smiley.

When did Harden become a scrub, KD gets the most leeway of every superstar I have ever seen.
During the offseason these guys were raving about the additions the Nets made. Stephen A himself even said the Nets are making the finals even without Kyrie. And now, just like that, he has no help.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 4:11pm On Nov 17, 2021
Did Stephen A just say that KD has no help in Brooklyn? shocked embarassed My goodness. How KD is held to a much lower standard than any superstar I've ever known.

LMAO...Skip Bayless grin

SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m):
Meanwhile, Steve Nash throwing the white flag with 12 minutes left in the ball game is just comical. This man is known for giving up too early.

And boy did they put a clamp on KD tonight. 31.6% FG. That's unlike him. My only worry na say Stephen A no go let us hear word tomorrow. But shame no go let am accept say he switched form the Nets to the Warriors real quick. When this man was singing the Nets name all preseason, even without Kyrie.

No na, na only when he get one good game, Steady go come tell us say na him be the best big in the game today. Brings the question again why he is in that LIST and Kyrie is not there? Sheybe they both have one thing in common, that ring.... Otan
How many lead KD don lead? Abi na to join superteam be leading? But that doesn't stop us from acknowledging he's the best scorer in the game right?

Tatum slightly above Bam. I'd say level with Luka and I'd rate him above Trae and Ja (even though all for should be placed level).
The guy is just having a poor run of form and una don begin compare am with Ayton and John Collins, make una fear God na. The guy is an AllStar o, make una no forget. As much as he is having a poor run of form, the whole team is looking like a terrible mess at the moment, he is not the only one playing poorly, na the whole team.
Why anyone go even rate John Collins and Ayton level with Tatum sef? The guy dey miles ahead abeg
Tatum over Bam? Lol. Basketball is played on two ends of the court o. And Bam is one of the best two-way players in the league at the moment.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 7:33am On Nov 15, 2021

Luka has. As has Trae Young. And Ja Morant. Deandre even can get you consistent doubles now.
Bam was crucial in the Heat's finals run 2 years ago too.

Your own is to always just pick the other lane and drive. Are any of the other players doing anything close to what Steph is doing right now? Are their numbers even the same as last season let alone even better than last season?
Lol. Who's talking about what others are doing? He made a statement that what Steph is doing this season is making a case for him to be top 15 all time. So I'm wondering whether his performance last season didn't make more of a case for him grin

SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 4:17pm On Nov 11, 2021
Stephen A has a reputation for not saying anything good about the Lakers. You can put a gun to his head, he'll always find a way to bring up one irrelevant talk. Talmbout not all the people you saw on the court last night are going to be used in the playoffs. Man stfu angry
For him to say Vogel uses 7-8 guys in the playoffs means he doesn't even watch these games. Vogel uses at least 10 players in a series. In the Sun's series last year he used 15. Na just say na bumass Kendrick Perkins dey challenge am.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m):
Tough win for the Lakers tonight. We matched them grit for grit. More of this physicality going forward.

Free throws was 35-16 in favour of the Heat (and this includes tactical fouls by the Heat towards the end of the game, if not we'd be looking at 35-12). Some dodgy calls by the refs tonight. There was an alley oop that AD was fouled on. The ref said side out. I just smiled. That was the cream of the crop of shitty calls in the game.

Our 3pt shooting basically won us this game. 18/38 (47.4%). Melo was cold but Bradley, Wayne and Monk came up with 5, 4 and 4 respectively.

Mark my words, nobody will foul jokic in any hard manner going forward. He sent a message that he is willing to take the fine and 1 game suspension and the rest of the league has taken notice.
There is a reason nobody tries that with Steven Adams because you know the next time you get isolated in a PnR you will get decked hard.

PS: the Morris bros use the bully mentality, and one thing that works well against that is to dish back as much if not more than they did
Lol. Except it's not this NBA he's playing in. He knows that his suspension would be more if he tries it again. He'll be a target.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 5:20am On Nov 11, 2021
Man, the refs are allowing a lot of physicality this season. I'm loving it. Only the tough will survive.

Khanben:
But he didn't do it in the playoffs, he picked the right time and place to send the message.
Oh, is this you saying there are appropriate times to retaliate or not retaliate? That means there is a time when he won't/shouldn't get angry enough to retaliate? Lol. This your concept is flawed. Pick a struggle. Should Jokic retaliate every time he's fouled hard or not?
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 9:37pm On Nov 10, 2021
When people start using too many "what ifs" in an argument you know they don't have any valid argument. "What if he injured his ribs" "what if he fractured his knee" "what if he broke his head". All moot points. If he didn't break his head then he didn't break his head. When he breaks his head then we can talk about how he broke his head.

These are the same people that complain nonstop about how the NBA has gone soft. They tell us how back in the day guys were hacking people. Now someone is playing hard and they're saying " what if he died". It was a dirty play, we get it, but miss me with all this "what ifs". We know a play that has the potential of becoming life-threatening or career-threatening and this was not one of them.

But these are not kids. This is a grown man's game. When you hit Jokic the way Morris did, you are sending a message. Jokic showed emotional intelligence imo. He could have clocked Morris with a punch to the temple. Or body slammed him. Otherwise you are seen as soft, and folks will test you in the playoffs where you cant afford to miss any games.

Speaking of kids, same thing. Yes, you should report things to the teacher instead of taking the law into your own hands. De-escalate if you can. But if they corner you and are about to inflict damage on you, game on. Do what you need to to get out of it. Then be the frst to report the whole story to the authorities anyways. Dont just lie down there and eat a beating trying to be emotionally intelligent. There are no rewards for coming home with a broken head. Bullies bully you until you clap back. Such is life.
Bro, this is not MMA or boxing where you're allowed to retaliate to every punch thrown at you. This is sports. Every infringement has its own penalty and the onus is not on you (the victim) to choose which penalty is dished out. The refs are there to officiate the game and I'm sure they would have awarded a flagrant 2 even if Jokic did not retaliate. I can't believe we're condoning what Jokic did. And don't say we're condoning what Kieff did because we're not. He deserves his flagrant 2 and fine according to the rules.

The suspension was always a given, but Jokic sent a message which I liked, you don't mess with the Big man.
Lol. You wouldn't be saying this if he plays for your team and he did it in a crucial playoff game/series.

Markieff gave him a hard foul. Thumbs down Kieff. Is the punishment for a hard foul death? Jokic could have given him a serious neck injury or worse killed him. His head snapped back: a whiplash can lead to serious complications.

Reaction >>>>> Action.

I understand Jokic's intention though, he wanted to send a message to the NBA.

Fair enough punishment by the NBA in my opinion.
Exactly. They all got what they deserved. Suspension for Jokic and a fine for Kieff.

I don't know whether we're now condoning retaliation for every hard foul in the NBA. When I think a foul is hard then I throw you a punch to let you know. Not suspending Jokic would have made the NBA look bad. Kudos to them.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 8:30am On Nov 10, 2021
I'm just trying to imagine it was LeBron James that did what Jokic did grin. We would all be calling for his head on a spike. People love who they love and they hate who they hate. I know Markieff's foul on Jokic was hard, but his aim there was to stop a fast break. Players do cynical fouls all the time, this one was just poorly executed. A flagrant 2 is all that should be awarded to Kieff. The rules are clear on that. Flagrant 2 is unnecessary and excessive contact and also comes with a fine. What Jokic did on the other hand is beyond a basketball play and therefore deserves a suspension. You can't punish them equally because their offences are not the same.

Even Jokic is a bit remorseful for his actions.

Question, does every number 1 option need to win a championship, for them to be an alpha?
Not every number 1 option or Alpha will win a championship in this league. It is what it is. And not every number 1 option is an alpha. An Alpha is a guy that would make good use of the cast he has and go as far as possible. Him winning a championship depends on how good his sidekick or supporting cast is. LeBron, CP3, Westbrook (yes grin), Harden, Giannis. I might add a handful of guys in the league too.

I wasnt following him hard before Lakers. But between this and last season, there have been multiple times this question has arisen. Serious question, do you think that AD is better than Giannis skill wise. If you agree with me that AD is the more skilled of the 2, why is it not showing on this team like Giannis is affecting the Bucks?
Because he's not an alpha. And that's not an indictment on him. Not everyone can be an alpha. Kyrie is one of the most skilled ballers in the league, but can he carry a team. The answer is no. As blasphemous as it may sound, even KD is not an alpha. Skilled player no doubt, but hasn't shown that he can carry a team. AD needs a good PG to be successful.

I have no issues with that Jokic foul, even though it was a cheap shot. Markieff had that coming - the way he fouled Jokic wasnt good either. Next time, you will give the big man his respect.
Jokic is slowly building a reputation. He was ejected last playoffs for something similar.

Let Embiid and Joker play with Bron make we see something.
Oh, is this you agreeing that LeBron makes guys better?

And please, AD has played only one season with LeBron. He's barely played with Bron this year and is still dominating on both ends of the court. If someone like Joker plays with LeBron a lot of his qualities won't really be needed. Like his playmaking. We'll want to see if he can catch lobs, attack the rim, protect the rim. Embiid is more likely to thrive with LeBron.
