Insightful though I still believe women shouldn't be leaders of men or exercise authirity over them because of how God has created both genders and assigned them natural offices even before Moses.

It's so clear from the scriptures that God has not called us to usurp authority over men. Can we prophesy in church? yes we can with our heads covered portraying submission to authority. Can we teach in church? yes we can but we are to teach younger or immature women. This is one passage that settled it for me.

Titus 2:4-8 "These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God. In the same way, encourage the young men to live wisely"

Submission is not a demeaning thing in short its so glorious. Puts us in a position to receive so much grace. The one in the place of authority and the one in the place of submission are both equal in Christ. Both of God and unto God. Amen

I wonder why people always think that a woman submitting to her husband is slavery or that a woman should not usurp authority over a man means oppression for women?
It is wicked spirits attacking the gospel. There have being increase of so-called new revelation that either attack the inspiration of scripture outrightly or subtly does. Satan is good at mixing lie with truth to make it appealing.

Recently, I have heard a few of our fathers of faith in Nigeria preach that tithe defaulters will not make it to heaven when they die.

No. Heaven is not what "you make" the gospel is not about using human works to get to heaven but about Jesus christ and his finished works on the cross so mankind would have eternal life through faith in him.

Imagine a student who couldn't meet up the cut off mark to pass an exam but the examiner had to upgrade his mark, the fact is, he initially failed, if he didn't fail he wouldn't need to be upgraded.

Jesus had to first of all make the rich ruler understand that his works were not sufficient.
First Jesus pointed him to the ten commandment.
Then told him to sell all he had and give to he poor then come and follow him.

The rich ruler trusted in his ability to keep the commandment but by Jesus adding other things to it exposed his sinfulness.

Salvation is by grace through faith in christ however, saving faith comes when ones sinfulness is exposed.

Before the death of Christ people could be forgiven temporarily base on the old covenant but however everlasting forgiveness of sin lies only in Jesus christ.

Obeying Jesus Christ is a product of salvation, when a man is saved he is forgiven, justified (made right with God) , regenerated(reborn in Spirit/ given a new heart) the product of this is the good works in does in christ Jesus.

1) If truly we were given freewill why then will God punish us for our choices e.g if we don't go his way?

free will does not mean freedom from repercussions, it simply means freedom to make a choice.

2)If Jesus is God why then must he have to die for our sins when he can just wave it?

It has to do with the character of God.
God is holy and just and cannot just wave sin away as that would mean God is unjust, that is against his attribute as God.
Jesus had to die because the just price for sin that must be paid without escape is sinless perfection which no ordinary human being can provide.

3)If God really loves us why then will some people have to go to hell and others heaven when he can bring us all together as one just like in the beginning?

In as much as God loves us however that does not mean we can escape his justice, because God is perfect nobody can escape his justice except the criteria of atonement is made.
Light and darkness must be separated hence we all cannot be brought together, those who choose sin like the devil must be separated from those who God chose to be his own.

There are other questions but let me stop on this two.

What body of christ is threatened? The pentecostal/ charisamatic movement is a big mess just like the Roman Catholicism, their problem began when they started exalting human beings, spiritual experiences above or on the same level with the scripture.

While Jesus was addressing the fruit Paul addressed what lead to the fruit.
God has to first chose and call you before you can respond, this response is faith in Jesus christ which in turn leads to spiritual transformation which again leads to obedience to Jesus and at the end eternal life.

Salvation is by faith through Jesus christ, however salvation leads to a change of life. This change of life is the obedience to the Lord Jesus out of Love and faith in him.

Without being saved by grace through faith in Jesus christ you cannot obey Jesus hence those calling Jesus Lord, Lord without obeying him are means they were not saved (which is by grace through faith in Jesus).

Paul says in another verse:

Paul's own is to collect them wages, harvest, money, Kudi, ego,... !!!

Yes you only receieve the Holy Spirit once, but being filled with the holy Spirit is the level the power of the holy Spirit works through you, you can even quench the Spirit but however he does not leave but his working power through you diminishes.

For example 1 Timothy 6:15-16 refers to the father as the king of kings and Lord of lords but you also forgot that revelation 19 declares the Son as the King of kings and the Lord of lord. As a JW, one teaching I was opposed to was the trinitarian doctrine. I cannot see how Jesus can be God. I feel they are distinct persons and that Jehovah is the only God. That only Jehovah should be worshipped. When I became a JW, I was further told the meaning of Trinity, and I came to have more hatred for the doctrine. From what the witnesses taught me, I told myself that I didn't even believe this trinity even while I was in the church. Three persons in one God is contradictory to me.

I knew the proves the witnesses have against Trinity. As an elder I taught this from the platform then. But recently, I revisited that doctrine. This time through a personal scriptural analysis to see what the Bible has to say. But before I tell you what I found out scripturally, let us first look at the meaning of Trinity which for many years I never knew.

I found out that Trinity doesn't mean three persons inside one God. Rather three persons that has one Nature. The nature aspect is what I had missed for many years. I never understood it that way before.

Their are three persons, but they have one nature. From what I understand, when we think about God, we mean the creator of heaven and earth, MOST importantly, when we think of God, we mean our Deity. Now what trinitarians are saying is that there are more than one persons who match that description, but all of them possess the same features we have in mind when we say God. In other words they have the same Nature, but they are not one person.


Let's say it another way. When you say Human. You obviously know that the feature of humankind is not possessed by just one person. There are many, but they all have the same human features. So when you think about God, you are thinking about a nature. In that nature are three persons that possess it.

This is a huge game changer in my Trinity journey. You may have noticed that I have avoided Trinity subject in this board. This is deliberate. Prior to this time, I never believed that doctrine. And for some time, I delved into it, and started to see things differently. My approach to this subject might be different from what you have ever heard before on this subject because I did my study, and i also tried to view the subject from a JW perspective and saw that even from JW teaching, you cant run away from this one nature shared by the three, especially the two, father and Son.

In my part 2 of this trinity series, We will start from John 1:1. Let's trace Jesus origin once more. Check in next week Thursday.

you are right God is a nature or a being who exist in three individuals. In other words the same God who is the Father is the same God who is the Son but a different person and the same God who is the Holy Spirit who is a different person from the Father and Son.

Trinity basically means three persons that possess one nature. That's all.

Within the three are roles. One serve as the Father, another Son and another Holy Spirit. When you think of God, it's as if you think of say Humankind - a Nature. Click the link to read more.

When God says He is one, it means the same thing when Jesus says I and the Father are one. The reference is to their nature. They are one because there is no other person possessing their nature.

I don't have my bible close, so don't pick on the bible reference.

For example at Gen 1:26, God says "Let US create man in our image". This shows plurality. However, when you read forward, the bible then says, 'God created the man in HIS image". Previously, God says let us, but after the bible says, God, singular, created them male and female. This means that the word " God" there stands for a nature consisting of others. For centuries, God didn't tell us how many make up the Godhead until the gospel age.

When Jesus came, we now see him saying he is one with the Father, that if you see him, you have seen the Father. Later we see that Jesus was infact the one who created all things. Now the pieces start to gather as to the US at Gen 1:26.

The reason there is so much Atheist today is because we that claimed to believe have not been showing working. We only talk and talk but no power. How can we even show workings and power when we don't have it? How can we have it when we are believing the wrong message today. Our wrong believe is robbing us of the power of God working through us. Our opening scripture made us to understand that the kingdom of God is not in mere cho cho, but in power.

One thing that was common with the earliest apostle is that they showed working and power. Apostle Paul showed verifiable power that the unbeliever wanted to even commit blasphemy by worshipping him as a god (Acts 14:11-13). Peter did same and all who believe the right messages. Jesus promised us that we can show power and even greater power that he did while on earth(John 14:12). Jesus wasn't blabbing when he said this because he knows the same power he has will come up on us when we believe in Him and we will be able to do this things effortlessly. We have left the message that give this kind of power and turn to motivational speaker on the pulpit. But I thank the Lord Jesus whom through His death, I now have the life of God now, that the true message is being revived now all over the world. Friends in redemption of Jesus Christ, the power of God is real more than the air we breathe.
