RalphJean: Leaving is not a problem. The old employer did not stop him from leaving. He resigned. They thanked him for his services, and wished him the best in future endeavours. They only collected back his ID card.... lest they forget and run foul of the law, they collected THEIR CoS too. Some times you must act as a fool against all odds to survive in UK , most especially when you are an immigrant. |

LagosismyHome: I think nurses do work in NHS and can work in a private capacity such as care homes. ...so this is a nurse His Tier 2 visa was sponsored by the old employer (care home) and not by the NHS. I think he left them after getting what he needed from them. |

sonofakin: Good day to you. I need advice on an issue. I have a friend, a nurse. He left Nigeria last year on a Tier 2 Visa. Entered the UK as a pre-registered nurse and did the needful to pass the clinical assessment and became registered within the stipulated time. All was going well till around june of this year when he felt he was no longer comfortable working in a particular care home (for reasons best known to him). Anyway he got another job with another company and was supposed to start work with the new employer. He was told to resign at the old place which he did. I guess immediately the old employer informed the home office so his CoS can be withdrawn according to the law. Now two weeks later, the new employer informed him that they have not been able to process his work Visa. Reason is that their outsourced company that prescreens and apply for Visas on their behalf found a discrepancy in his documents: Employment letter from old employer, day he entered the UK and day he sat for the clinical exam to be fully registered as a nurse. That the old employer was supposed to have corrected the discrepancy with the home office. Anyway, he was out of work already, had bills to pay, was pressuring the old employer but nothing was being done. After being out of work for close to 40 days, he went back to the old employer who said their CoS cancellation might not have been approved by the home office due to backlogs, they said they will withdraw the application. He had an interview in another care home of theirs and started work with them since two weeks ago. Now they just informed him that the documents is not fully cleared and he can only work for 20hrs per week for now. Any insight on this will be much appreciated. Thanks I have nothing to say but really Your friend didn't do well at all. He disappointed the old employer and that can be a red flag for anyone needing tier 2 visa and applying for job in such care home |

Yampotatocarrot: ...apply for student visa and later change to teaching based on your student visa status.
Please, I don't understand this process, Ma (the changing to teaching part) The student visa is an opportunity to leave Nigeria Legally for studies and get work permit on student visa status. So by the time you get here, You just convert to UK Teaching license and start your teaching career here. |

Yampotatocarrot: Good evening, please I'll love to know if it's possible for a Nigerian to apply as a teacher in UK or Canada under the job shortage list and the conditions that need to be met.
Thanks Goodevening. Yes, It is very possible in UK but difficult right now due to how badly the economy has been affected by the pandemic and most employers are not willing to sponsor tier 2 work visa for those from other countries. It is better when you apply for student visa and later change to Teaching based on your student visa status. |

For someone in Nigeria, with Jan. 18th 2021 as resumption date. Please what is the best time to start counting 28 days bank statement? Early September to early October or early October to early November. Is 3 months rule also applicable to 28 days bank statement or just only submission of visa application ?
Thanks for your help. |

LagosismyHome: For sure it can not be extend .......they are not the same category so it has to be switch. However google is saying : You cannot switch from being a Tier 4 Dependant to being a Tier 4 Student If they are here as a Visitor or Short-Term Student however they cannot apply in the UK and must return home to apply . Don't know the full rules regarding that so do your research and see what the home office guidance is on that and what is called a short term student Thanks. No, she came with tier 4 dependant visa since last year. |
Travel › Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by STENON(f): 2:29pm On Aug 26, 2020 |
duchess90: Hello @Stenon
Ideally it should be switch.
Double check if dependants are allowed to switch to this. The last I saw was Tier 4 child and a couple of Tier 2
It may have changed though.
Cheers Thanks for the clarification |

Turningmoon:

Good evening all. Please I'm a private school teacher with kids and a bedridden husband. Since the close down of schools due to the current pandemic, as a bread winner of the family, I didn't waste time to jump into trading by selling by the road side. This is where I make daily bread for myself, my kids, aged mother and the sick hubby (I pray he gets back on his feet soon). Last week, a task force team against street trading came and went away with all my goods. They are asking me to pay N20,000 to get back my goods. Honestly, there's no such money anywhere in the family now please. This has taken our daily bread away from us as nothing to eat again. Please I need your financial assistance to enable me get back my goods. Even if it's what can put food on our table today as we have been seriously starving. Thanks and may God richly bless you.

I was denied boarding on the July 18, 2018 without the cert.
And prior before departure, the airline did not inform me of such criteria.

Fwaz: Thank you for submitting your documents.
I have reviewed the financial documents you have sent through to us but I am unable to approve them for use in a visa application for the follow reasons:
1. You have not demonstrated you have maintained more than sufficient funds over the 28 day relevant time period (only shows funds up to 24/07 and we need to see all transactions up to 09/07
I recommend that in order to meet the financial condition you can provided updated bank statement demonstrating you maintained more than sufficient funds over 28 days relevant time period or provide statement to accompany letter proving funds have been maintained for 28 days.
Mimilyric I should have heed to your earlier advice... My bank statement was from 8th July to 6th August
There was no transaction on 8th and 9th as well because the cash have been in my account for months. The statement shows a transaction on 24th, 31st July and 4th of August only..
I'm frustrated aswear coz I have sent four different Bank statements to my school.
The first one wasnt stamped coz I generated it through GTB mobile App
The second one I got a response from my school that it only shows 27days instead of 28days
Then I decided to sent 2 different statements From 8july -6th August and also from 9th July -6th August so I got the below response
You have not demonstrated you have maintained more than sufficient funds over the 28 day relevant time period (only shows funds up to 24/07 and we need to see all transactions up to 09/07
NOTE: Second and third Statement was generated through online banking and it was stamped Sorry bro, Some people actually caused this problem in the previous years . They always generate fake bank statement and the school won't verify but just issue CAS immediately they see the statement . Home office always do thorough check to identify the fake bank statement before denying them visa. This has forced some schools to "SOC ( Save our CAS )" by asking for different documents before issuing out their precious CAS |
