meanwhile, I have been having braxton hicks/mild cramping for a couple of days now, say like 4 or 5 times a day. Google tells me it comes earlier with subsequent pregnancies (this is my third) but I'm not taking any chances mehn. I'm going to do a scan today. my clinic day is on Thursday. I'll ask my doc.
my previous pregnancy ended on exactly this day (17 weeks mark).
but I know this one will end in praise for me. I will carry this pregnancy to full term. there shall be no loss in Jesus name.

Goodevening mummies and daddies. My doctor guy didn't tell me anything about sex or no sex. Please is it safe for DH to just penetrate without banging. He has been having urges. Or how best should we manage. We are afraid to make mistakes

I believe you need sex as a pregnant woman and it is safe for you if dh takes a position that doesn't harm your LO but you can still wait to hear from other sabi mamas

For the 1st time in this pregnancy, I have been having terrible mood swings since last night, I felt so angry at DH for no reason....I just had to go to bed early so I wouldn't snap at him.

Woke up this morning feeling weak and almost crying for no reason.

Mamas is this one too part of the package?? I haven't had this surge of plenty emotions in a while. I've always been a strong person, but between last night and this morning...I feel like someone else

My people, my people!
So today I had my doctor's appointment and it was quiet comprehensive. Had GBS test done and oda routine things. My labs done last week was out and he said I was slightly anemic ; reason being that for a long time I just stopped taking my prenatals *covering face* swallowing dat stuff was a big deal for me so I ditched it and felt eating will replace it. Well, I was told to resume taking it and wen I got to the pharmacy, I found this prenatal gummies OMG! The excitement on my face knew no bounds!

I'm sure dis will be the solution to all those dat av difficulty swallowing and terrible MS.

Secondly, this my new doc does not buy into my elective induction like I did for my son So I have to wait for labor and time contractions I totally feel like someone dat has not given birth b4 cos the first was a walk in the park . Well, wateva signs I start feelin, I will bring it here to my able support group

My birth story:
My EDD from first scan at 11weeks gave me 11th August and Doc gave me 12th August. With each passing day, I looked forward to that date with excitement and fear tho. I was also actually wishing that baby comes before then. ....
From 36 weeks or so I started having lots of braxton hicks. In my mind, I was like my body has started preparing me on time for the real thing! 37 and 38 weeks it started to increase in frequency too. I was sooo happy I will get to meet my Lil one on time. I was so wrong....
Tiredness started setting in. Since the last scan I did at 28 weeks showed baby in breech position, I decided to take another scan to see if baby had positioned well. Yes , he had turned head down .

#39weeks came, nothing apart from increasing waist pain and tiredness.
Sleepless nights increased too. I was restless. How long more was I to drag this big long bump around and be gathering sympathy every where I go ?
I had started my evening walks...I usually came back exhausted but I tried to keep up because I had a target in mind. 40 weeks came and no results. Only swollen feet that made standing and walking a Herculean task...
Went to antenatal for that week, Doc said everything was in order and I should expect my baby any time soon. I went home disappointed kind of . I really wanted to hold my baby .

My body was not also helping issues. Given me signs non-stop. My Braxton hicks intensified. Cramps and stooling too. 41weeks came and nothing happened.
I virtually stormed my Gyn office asking for induction. He said he will start with his procedure. Wrote a pelvic exam and a membrane sweep.
I wrote my experience about that membrane sweep here! Choi ! Invasive procedure. ..that was the beginning of the 'choking hand business ' in my VJay. I was 2cmdilated, 50 percent effaced
2days after the sweep, I lost my mucous plug. I was happy baby will be here that week. A day later, I saw bloody show. All of that and still no Labour!

I then made up my mind for CS. I would be 42weeks in a few days time. Hell no way I would go past 42weeks with an additional day ! Not with all the birth announcements I was hearing everyday. ..

41weeks 5days later was a Tuesday, antenatal day. Went with DH. Bags packed into the car. Immediately it was my turn to see Doc, after exchanging greetings we told him we want our baby today! He laughed and said am too serious. I didn't bulged. I told him the theatre should be prepared. He smiled and said I should give VD a chance. I told him I did but Labour not coming and I don't want a failed induction either. He assured me to give induction a trial that it won't fail. I quickly accepted and wrote for misopristol insertion. He said I should go bring my bags , we said we were with it already. He laughed and then before handing my folder to me to take to delivery suite, he said 'let's strike a deal...no shouting or screaming when you get there'....see me nodding my head like agama lizard...

Immediately I got to delivery suit, was told to change to top and wrapper or bra and wrapper only. I changed immediately. Climbed on the delivery bed and the drugs inserted. This was around 3pm. I came out and was gisting with hubby from then till past 5. Nurses asked if I had eaten. I said no. They told me to eat. I said I wasn't hungry. They reminded me that I will need the strength from food later. I reluctantly told hubby to get me food. He bought rice. Mumsy brought eba. Was just picking on the food sef. Nurses told me to hurry on the food that once the pains start, I won't remember that food again. I didnt understand sha. I still managed to finish the rice and was still gisting with hubby. I grabbed eba And started eating. Around 6.30pm. It was as if someone landed a heavy slap on my pelvis and waist. I didn't realise when my voice gave me away

Good day all, am new here and your posts are really beautiful, am not yet pregnant but I believe am conceiving this month. Being married for almost two years now and my prayer Is that i will be pregnant before our second anniversary which is in November. I need as many people as possible to say amen and agree with me.

Braxton hicks is when your tommy tightens and later releases itself. It's the body's way of preparing for labor

Mama, I think it will still stop cos I kind of experienced the same thing sometime during this pregnancy and I thought it was spiritual so I had to start praying about it then. lol

My able cappo, am also feeling kind of menstrual pain in my waist. As a FTM, I don't know if the pain I feel sometimes is the Braxton Hicks that is being talked about.

Team October for painless, stressless delivery

As a FTM, I had this phobia about PELVIC ACCESSMENT because I met another FTM whom got checked and told me it was very painful. I dodged the accessment up until my last ANC when the midwives insisted I must get checked. Getting to meet the doctor, I was shivering because I thought the checking requires the doctor shooking his whole hand into my jajaina. lol.. But low and behold, it wasn't painful cos he used only one finger and said the pelvic was adequate so I felt a lot of relief. So, to my fellow FTM who might be scared like me, just relax cos it's nothing to worry about.

To be honest, i already lost interest in this thread and was gradually making my exit yesterday. But enque and some other mama's comments really got to me.

I have learnt a lot from this thread. I have successfully given birth and have some experience and knowledge about pregnancy, thanks to this thread. It will be selfish, yes, very selfish of me if i turn tail now and abandon the new mamas and not help them out simply because of the 'iranu' happening.

Granted, they are very disheartening but if mamas had run away from this thread when i was preggo, who would have helped me?

Let's put whatever annoys us aside and stick together. To those who have left and those contemplating leaving, please think about how this will affect the innocent ones on this thread.

This thread needs all of us just as we needed the thread back then. We'll all laugh over all these someday just as we always do.

Part 3

I was on the floor while the blood keep pumping out, mum and DH were confused. We used tissue,pad,wrappers etc putting pressure to stop the bleeding. DH woke our neighbours while mum pack something for baby. They called the Dr of the nearest private hospital and he was in. Luckily he is a gynecologist and was even part of my delivery team. They were waiting at our arrival. DH carried me to the car with help of another man. I was wheeled straight to theatre on arrival,bleeding was controlled and another mva done. The blood clot that came out was almost as large as 200naira tissue roll. More retain placenta was removed. I was stitched again of tears that was neglected and those that reopened. I had to do anoda scan to confirm that the place is clear. That was another lesson,I was supposed to do a scan after the first mva.
It's over a week now and I'm gradually recovering after losing a lot of blood. Milk flow is still a work in progress. I sincerely thank God for my life and I hope my story will help someone out there. There are no two mothers ou there,God pls help we mothers to live and raise our children in Jesus name. Amen
