NwanyiOkpa: People keep saying "Canada"
Out of about 20 that applied for student visa on that canadian thread, I cant count up to 3 that got approved. Exactly. If their visa was easier like early last year, it would have have been very recommendable. Anyways, I think much more Nigerians apply to Canada these days than the USA and that's another reason why it's so difficult to get approval at the moment. |

Wretch32: You have missed the point if you think I am talking about getting a visa What is your plan for wanting to move in the first place ?
Visa is just one part and the most unimportant for me if the purpose for beginning the journey is defeated or under threat what is the solution? It's just an advice, prioritize what provides an easier path to achieve that which you desire Especially if you're going to be paying huge fees without scholarships I understand where you are coming from but you have to get the visa first. The only thing I'm trying to correct is the fact that you keep mentioning Canada. Yes, it's so much easier to stay behind there after studies but again, you have to get the visa first. |

Wretch32: True, however it remains unclear what the new rules mean for nigerians who wish to adjust status
This reasons amongst others is why I suggested people try Canada as an alternative as well since it's more friendly at this time The current american administration is all out for us and we face a lot of uncertainties currently as any politically motivated policy change (very likely since we are in election season) could have adverse effects (politicians will do anything to garner votes from their supporters)
But lest I say more and get insulted again and misconstrued I will say no more from this point. Canada itself isn't easy now. Have you read the Canada thread lately? I have been following that thread since January last year and still following it now. We see like one visa approval per month there (and most of them are people with travel histories) compared to several per week we used to witness early last year, and CIC would normally hold your application for months before rejecting you. I wouldn't suggest Canada as a good alternative at the moment. |

Enireqx20: I just read it too.. na wa o. What if you marry before you graduate and want to adjust status? The restrictions are for people that graduate and immediately start studying for another degree. When you get your f1, as long as you are studying, you can remain in the US for as long as you like. But they want to change it ; so after a degree, you have to apply for a visa again if you want another degree. |

Also everyone here that hasn't already, should research well on all these things, read experiences, google things you aren't sure of. That way you make your own decisions and all these posts here won't bother you. Be informed. Cos from the way some people are reacting to posts, it shows they haven't made enough research on all these. |

Fatimahil25: In addition i am in the process of attaining a Project management certification to add to my qualification. i have written no standardized test nor English test. but i am willing to if necessary although i rather not.
i am afraid with the little research i have carried out, i have limited chances with my low cgpa.
my questions are ? 1. should i be applying for a masters, pgd or diploma considering my cgpa? 2.what do i need to increase my chances of admission? 3. What schools should i be targeting ? Community schools or universities?
Many thanks as i look forward to your response on my concerns Hi, a pgd or pgc is the best bet for you, also be sure to include your work experience when applying as it can be an advantage to you. You might have to check a similar course as finding Real estate pgd/pgc in Canada is quite difficult. You will probably won't need any standardized test. |

I'll be back SAT is for undergrad and you'll find that most Canadian schools don't require GRE |

RealTrump: My village people finally caught up with me.
Suspension of entry for Immigrants, except as Special Immigrants whose eligibility is based on having provided assistance to the U.S. Government.
Whatever this vague statement means...I just hope they actually ban all of us. At least, our private jet owners n ministers will quickly fix d problem that directly affects them.
Personally, I feel this ban is 50percent to due to "compliance", d other 50percent is due to our romance with Russia and China. . It doesn't affect them. They aren't immigrants, the tourist visa is unaffected. |

The school that gave me admission just told me that my program has been suspended due to program reduction and I have already started processing my study visa with the acceptance letter. I was told that I can transfer my program with no charges or they could refund me my deposit and application fee. Please what should I do. Should I withdraw my visa application from Canada then after I get transfer to another program then reapply. I submitted my application last week. Please it urgent. I need your sincere advice. The school gave me a deadline to decide. Thank you Aren't you the one we have been advising to withdraw your application? I think you have a bigger thing to worry about than the suspension of your program by your school |
