Queenmama03: Hello all, please is it necessary to get my transcripts evaluated by WES before applying for a masters degree in Canada? Or is this requirement only for those applying for PR.
For those of you that have gotten an admission how did you get your transcripts/ degree certificates evaluated? Also is IELTS a necessity for Nigerian graduates? Most Canadian universities do not need evaluation nor IELTS from Nigerians. |

Cannydude: Thanks alot for the timely reply. I already got two schools in Winnipeg for PGD...Take a look at them for me please. 1. https://www.mastersportal.com/studies/152920/marketing-management.html 2. https://www.mastersportal.com/studies/152922/financial-management.html What are these schools like?, Is Winnipeg a good destination for international students? These are the courses i can find suitable and i feel they are kind of related to my discipline. PGD in International Relations is just 1 year. I won't want to go for that as the major aim is the PGWP. What's your advice regarding my choices please? The two courses are in the same school (U of Winnipeg). The school is good and Winnipeg is a good destination. Prepare your application well and relate the course you chose to international relations. Let the VO see the relationship between the two courses and why you chose marketing or financial management. All the best |

Cannydude: Happy Sunday bosses...I graduated from OAU, department of International Relations with a poor grade, a CGPA of 2.36/5.00, which then leaves me in the third class region. I'm done with NYSC and would like to continue my educational pursuit in Canada. What are my chances of securing admission? Can my poor grade get an admission to study for Masters? If yes, how do i go about it? If no, can i settle with a Postgraduate diploma then, If yes, will a 2 years PGD not be a red flag? As the gurus here have made it clear that's the only way to secure a PWGP of 3 years. Thanks all! Would appreciate any input whatsoever please. You cannot get admission for masters with your CGPA, your only option is to find a PGD in one of the colleges related to your course. And no it is not a red flag. |

What is wrong is wrong but i don’t expect you to see that because u re interested only to make money here. Can't you see the irony in what you just said? |

My cousin just got accepted to study in Canada. She's 18 and going for her first degree. I need list of documents expected from her as part of the visa application process. I'd genuinely appreciate it if anyone can help me with a comprehensive list. (Note: I am familiar with Canada study permit application, but I do believe my knowledge on steps to take is not enough).

greenskittles: I don't even know why I'm still following this topic, that was how I joined a spin-off WhatsApp group chat from here and was laughed at when I said I wanted to go to Stanford. Today we had a meeting with the international center and they made us know that there's still a top level push by executives of a coalition of schools to ensure visa processing goes through. Nobody's stupid, people have made their own personal worst case scenario plans, but hoping for the best case scenario is always greeted with mockery here. I was thinking along the same lines. There's a difference between being 'practical' and coming here to mock people with every opportunity. Some have offered advice about deferring and not paying sevis yet and people have taken those advice well. Many people on here already deferred their admission and there was no harm done in hoping and holding out for the best. But there are several toxic and stupid people here who seem to derive joy from mocking others. I don't get it. Perhaps they think it makes them look edgy or cool. Truth is, one cannot read 3 pages of this thread without coming across these kinda comments and it's sick. There is a clear line between being funny and being stupid. Empathy is something many Nigerians lack. Someone is even joking about suicide. |

LagosismyHome: The only thing that matters is how someone wants to travel, o my scholarship is what you see .... really is that priority. You travel tomorrow and get covid as your journey through and die. What exactly was the point then. Safety first . Covid isn't that deadly for younger population. Most people here will get it and survive. If you don't travel, before a vaccine comes you probably will have gotten it anyways. The world is opening up and all those traveling aren't stupid. |

#OpenIntlAirspace #OpenIntlAirspace I think there should be something that relates the tag to Nigeria. #OpenNGIntlAirspace and we can use other trending Nigeria tags with it so that more people will see it |

GentleChief: Guys, I don't really want to be a bringer of bad news but you guys are not being realistic.
The earliest any of us can make it to Germany is 2021 and thats if our government no messup again oo.
Let me even ask, should they open airports now..... How long do you think it takes to get appointment, go for interview, wait for approval mail and then visa stamping?
Ordinarily, these things take a minimum of 3-5 months. All things being equal, we are looking at December.
So even if they should open Airports now, there is now way any of us will make it in time to Germany for october. That is if due process is followed. Unless they will rush it and process everything fast. But Nigeria being one of the least favourable countries on their table, its highly unlikely.
All of you shouting they should open the airports too should know that our leaders are clueless and just hanging onto straws. They don't really know how to manage a pandemic at alarming levels and thats why they are being skeptical of rushing things.
It won't suprise you that all the so called isolation centres are just scams and non existent. Only on papers.
That is why they are willing to cancel a whole WAEC and close up our international airports till when God knows when. Soooo what you are suggesting is that people should just keep quiet? |

Francejaik: Please is it true that folks that apply for UNIVERSITIES often get more approvals than the ones that apply for COLLEGES College applicants get approved as much as university applicants. However, if you have a very good gp, it's advisable to go for a university because the VO might think you chose the college just for the less competitive admission process. But if you have a 3rd class and package your application well, going for a college doesn't mean you can't get approved. |

labylaby: Hi, Thank you so much I think I prefer paper based. Does it take much longer to get scores though? For the computer based, you will see your verbal and quant scores immediately after the test then receive the Analytical Writing score after 10-15 days. For the paper based, scoring will take around 5 weeks. |

It seems what consulates are waiting for is Trump's new Executive Order which will further restrict some visas for few months. It might be announced this weekend and if what I've read is true, then F1 won't be restricted. Hopefully the consulates can resume F1 processing after that or at least announce their plans. |

NairaLuck: Good morning everyone. So I got my letter of Admission this morning from Conestoga college Ontario, PGD cause I graduated from a polytechnic here in Nigeria. I was told to pay my acceptance fee to get the acceptance letter as well as deposit $1,000 so everything amounting to $1,500 which will be deducted from my tuition fee. The start date is September 8 2020.
Wanna ask, is it possible to defer my admission to Jan '21? cause I'm considering the pandemic and the distance as well as inability to get study visa. If yes, must I pay the said $1,500 before deferring?
Thanks Ask the school directly. They should be in a better position to answer |

Geewin69: You only had to read the info on the link yourself bro.
Did they say that TB Vaccine is effective against covid? Did they say that they have evidence that IT PROTECTS against covid?
What evidence did they give? Assumptions!
If it were to be effective, why are people still going down with it in places where routine immunization is followed religiously?
Vaccines boost the immune system against specific pathogens. May I also remind you that covid is novel?
Why are you doing this bros?
Please can we just go back to the subject of this thread? Thanks. "In controlled studies, it has been shown that BCG can indeed protect against viral respiratory infections. BCG stimulates innate immunity, and this can be used to build a defense against viral respiratory infections" This is from the article. And if you google 'bcg covid 19' you will see more studies. Some hospitals even gave it to their health workers as a precaution. I am not saying that I am sure it works but you called it crazy without bothering to read more about it. You can make your point about derailing the thread without attacking what you don't know about |

rkarang: Mortality rate in US is like 5% while Nigeria has 3% (with many mysterious deaths that are not counted as CoVid 19 cases) That's for the reported cases. Scientists believe more than 90% of cases are not detected The actual mortality rate is much lower especially for under 70 age groups. See this antibody test conducted in Spain for instance (Antibody tests show that many do beat the virus and develop immunity without even knowing): For under 40s, mortality rate is at worst 0.022%.
