Why didn't you correct them? Or do they have two heads there?
FYI, the Law has been passed and nothing can reverse it. The earlier you realize it and start making effort to develop igboland where you can do whatever you like, the better for you Lagos is a no man's land. It is not completely Yoruba state. When will Osun and Ekiti pass the law? |

Once Nigeria splits then you have all the power in the world to pass any law you want...Just like Ghana passed a law to make non Ghanian traders to deposit thousands of dollars...But you can't do that now as one Nigeria is still in place.

Politics › Nigeria’s Split Looms – Southern Leaders Warn Buhari by Stingman(op): 11:12am On Feb 13, 2018 |
Southern leaders on Monday in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, reviewed the state of the nation under President Muhammadu Buhari. They warned that the nation may breakup due to Buhari’s opposition to the re-balancing of the federation. The leaders who spoke on the topic: “Restructuring and the dawn of a new Nigeria,” at the 6th Anniversary of the administration of Governor Seriake Dickson, said the logic behind the incessant strife in the country demanded a review of its current structure. On the discussion panel were Afenifere leaders, including Lt. Gen. Alani Akinrinade (rtd) and its spokesman, Mr. Yinka Odumakin; former governor of Anambra State, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife; former Petroleum Minister and Amayenebo of Nembe, King Edmund Daukoru; former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Power, Ambassador Godknows Igali; a university don, Prof Gordini Darah and leader of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), Alhaji Yerima Shettima. Akinrinade, who was the guest speaker, argued that despite the initial opposition to restructuring by some Nigerians, the clamour for it seemed to have reached a crescendo and must be hearkened to by the Buhari government. He said: “A new era is usually preceded by a dark night of struggle and strife. It was the same with the struggle for restructuring and inclusive federalism. While the battle raged, no weapon known to humanity was considered too vulgar and lowly. “Blackmail, violence, extortion, religious manipulation, economic sanctions and intellectual persuasion were freely deployed. But at the end of the day, when all weapons of intimidation and coercion seemed to have exhausted their capacity, calm, reason and rationality appeared to have prevailed. “Four years ago as the battle for the restructuring of the nation raged unabated, President Goodluck Jonathan convoked a National Political Conference with the express mandate to look at the grave political issues facing Nigeria and to come up with acceptable solutions. “Given the urgency of the situation, one would have thought that the convener would have acted with express resolve once the conference turned in its report. But for reasons best known to him, President Jonathan delayed and prevaricated until he was defeated in a landmark presidential election... LaudableXX: It is not rubbish. Free your mind. There are federal institutions located within Lagos that do not require you to pass Yoruba in order to gain admission into their schools. Paying tax has nothing to do with language. It is mandatory for all citizens to pay tax, as well as foreigners. If you lived in France, Germany, Japan, Spain etc., you would pay tax as a foreigner working in any of those countries, even if you were not proficient in any of their languages. You need to enlarge your thought process ogbeni...France, Germany, Japan, Spain are countries...That's why we need Biafra and you Odua nation. It is then you can pass that kind of Law. But you will never support Odua state...You cowardly want to eat you cake and still have it. |
Education › Re: Yoruba Mandatory For Admission In Lagos Tertiary Institutions by Stingman: 11:41am On Feb 12, 2018 |
LaudableXX: Children do not have to be put under any pressure. Those who cannot learn Yoruba still have a choice and can attend to federal institutions within the same Lagos state, where this law is not in force.
Not only that, there are 34 or 35 other states in this country, that would still admit you as a student, without demanding Yoruba as a prerequisite for admission. Does that make any sense? It is absolutey rubbish...Do they also need to speak Yorubas to pay tax? Do you have the law in Osun state? |
Education › Re: Yoruba Mandatory For Admission In Lagos Tertiary Institutions by Stingman: 11:38am On Feb 12, 2018 |
LaudableXX: Nobody said it was. I used Germany and Russia as examples, to draw an analogy between those places and Lagos. Please go back and read my post without prejudice, and clearer understanding. Stop this rubbish. For this to work...the Yorubas must have their own country...Just like the Germans and Russians. But you are scared stiff to be own your own...You cowardly want to eat your cake and have it... |

Education › Re: Yoruba Mandatory For Admission In Lagos Tertiary Institutions by Stingman: 11:29am On Feb 12, 2018 |
LaudableXX: Of course he can. All he needs to do is to pass Yoruba as a subject, during NECO or SSCE exams, and to do that, he must learn to speak the language. It is a bit like going to study in Germany or Russia. You would have to take a year or so, to master the language of instruction. You support this but you would not support disintegration so you could be like Germany and Russia? This is why Europeans are wiser than crazy Africans...All Germans speak german...Doing this will mean that the children will be put under pressure to study another language while they are in their presumed country? How does this make sense? |
Education › Re: Yoruba Mandatory For Admission In Lagos Tertiary Institutions by Stingman: 11:23am On Feb 12, 2018 |
This bill is targeted at the Igbos.
Which other ethnic groups go to school in large numbers in Lagos more than the Igbos?
Igbos make una shine una eyes.
When Igbos generate taxes used by the state government to build thise schools...they didn't ask that you must be able to speak Yoruba.
I wonder why other states in SW have not come up with the same legislation.
How many Yorubas attend schools in other regions, if other regions had to create the same laws? |

The good thing is the Enugu state has one of the smallest budget in the country but the governors have tried to make judicious use of the money they have. Any surprise, Obansanjo, Ambode and the minster of finance have recently praised ENSG for infrastrutuural development with limited cash.

We Yorubas know what is good for our country and we would act at the appropriate time. But the insults from igbos can also make us double down to prove a point to the igbos: your hate and insults won’t sway us.
I won’t go further into how we are more politically enlightened than the igbos. That is an issue that has been overflogged and discussed on this forum. You are politically inclined more than the Igbos to bring Buhari...? Wht Igbos see sitting down cannt be seen by the Yorubas sitting on Kilimanjaro mountain. Politics › Re: Igbos Should Stop The Blackmail, Yorubas Have A Right To Vote Any Candidate. by Stingman: 10:18pm On Feb 11, 2018 |
resurgentxtian4: Let Buhari come for a 2nd term and let’s see who suffers more. You are in the process of successfully alienating the very same people who can help you get rid of Buhari.
I am a Christian and I know that this Government has not tried but i wont be railroaded by igbo blackmail to accept responsibility for Buhari’s actions. If anything, I would double down on my Support for him to spite the igbo. Now imagine what Muslims that are Yorubas feel about igbos’ behavior for the past 3 years. Insults and divisive rhetoric employed by the igbos will not get them anywhere. Rather, it will further earn them more enemies in Nigeria’s political space.
This is not the way to build consensus about any issue. We (the South) are giving Buhari is free pass to Aso rock for another 4 years just because the Igbos want to see yorubas suffer.
If Yorubas truly suffer in Nigeria as the igbos fervently pray for, the Nigeria we all have will cease to exist.
If igbos want to really see yorubas suffer, they should come out and challenge us in a war, bomb our cities and claim responsibility for it etc....
Stop wishing evil on Yorubas behind key pads and in the corner of your face me, I face you rooms in yorubaland ( most igbos live in Yorubaland).
God will never give igbos the satisfaction to see yorubas suffer. Igbos should get over the civil war defeat. Foolish man. When you voted Buhari did you want the Igbos to enjoy? |
