Any suggestions? |
While Walmart isnt the holiest of companies, and is known to balance its budget on the back of its employees, i'm pretty darn sure having them over in nigeria is more of a positive than a negative, however u want to view it. whether in terms of job creation or product quality(even though they typically sell sub-standard items) To call it as it is, how much worse can nigeria get. are we talking about the same nation where almost everyone is unemployed, the lucky ones are underemployed, and even these few "employed" ones commonly go months n months without pay at their "jobs". ? If you dont want a foreign body to occupy ur space, there is only one logical thing to do; occupy the darn space. That said, if you have a problem with these kinds of prospects, and u're not personally doing anything about job creation in that nation, i kindly ask that u SHUT DA HELL UP. |
What would be the best option for a fixed wireless phone provider. It will be needed for a small office in Ikeja, and the ability to bundle it with a decent (by naija standards) internet connection is very important. i checked out visafone on their website but the only office-type phone seemed to have a low data transfer capability. i'll appreciate any suggestions. Thanks |
its 2011 for pete's sake! 1- if u carry out any action or decision based on preconceived notions, then u got it bad. 2- no matter how awesome u are n how much u try, u can not impress everyone. Heres how it goes down: Scenario 1 : you- eligible for marriage n live outside Nigeria; dating a white or another race. you: Hey Mum/Dad i want to marry this white person i'm in love with. Mum/Dad: My son/daughter what happened to all the fine "black" Americans we see, why not marry one of those instead, u know how these "oyibo" people are. Scenario 2: you- eligible for marriage n live outside Nigeria; dating an African American. You: Hey Mum/Dad i want to marry this African American i'm in love with. Mum/Dad: My son/daughter what happened to all the fine "Nigerian" girls there, why not marry one of them, you know how those "akata" people are Scenario 3: : You- eligible for marriage n live outside Nigeria; dating a Nigerian. You: hey Mum/dad i want to marry this Nigerian i'm in love with. Mum/Dad: My son/daughter why not come back home n marry a "nice n cultured" person; you know how Nigerians abroad are. scenario 4: : You- eligible for marriage n now in Nigeria; dating a Nigerian. You: Hey mum/Dad i want to marry this person i love from Bleep state/tribe. Mum/Dad: chai! my pikin, dont bring shame to this family. what happened to all the people of our state/tribe; you know how people from that state/tribe are. Scenario 5: : you- eligible for marriage n in Nigeria; dating a member of your tribe. you: Hey mum/dad i want to marry this person i love from our tribe. Mum/Dad: Really? thats nice. what village? you: xxxxx Mum/Dad: what? ? no no no no no!. . . do u know how evil those people are? what happened to all the people from our village. scenario 6: : You- eligible for marriage n in Nigeria; dating one from your village. You: hey mum/Dad i want to marry this person from our village. Mum/Dad: thats great! what clan/family? you: xxxx Mum/Dad: Never!! do you know those people wronged our family 200 years ago? for that reason they are horrible people. At this point, i'm guessing you might as well start checking out your cousins. if that does not work, then maybe your own brother/sister will be approvable. Every Nigerian trying to get married has been faced with an opposition in one of these scenarios. Maybe not from Mum n Dad, but other family members n friends. The point here is this: No one cares about your happiness. They are more concerned about you fulfilling what they imagine to be the ever evasive "ideal union." To this end, please marry only who makes you happy for no reason. everything and everyone else is secondary. |
no, it isnt true. |
dademonie: And ur point being what?? if u ask me, i'd rather give the poor and have him come back than further enrich an already obscenely wealthy individual. Nigerians have taken it upon themselves to be the most gullible people ever. There is no explaining why a pastor needs 4 private jets, when more than half his congregation came to church on a commercial motorcycle only to be persuaded out of their last dime. To those saying these things are given willingly, i say; not at all. for a pastor whose primary focus is prosperity and not salvation or love, i don't think it will be too difficult to convince an already gullible crowd that if they don't give up all they have to GOD (in other words 'man of god') they will never prosper. Religion in my opinion should be practiced at fundamental levels and not all the craziness thats been added to it. using Nigeria as a case study, it is clearly evident that over-religiousness does not help. Otherwise, kindly explain how Nigeria is one of the most religious nations in the world, and on the other hand, one of the most corrupt in the world. Not even political corruption, but corruption at the most basic individual levels, to the point where it is a way of life. And can someone also explain to me why people have to pay large sums of money to see these "men of god" for personal prayers. if they are truly out to do the work of GOD, they would not be outright trading whatever they have to offer for cold hard cash. So in other words, if u are poor and need prayers, the big "man of god" has a message for u; GO EFF URSELF. |
caption should have been LIVING FAITH CHURCH Acquires Yet Another N4.5b Private Jet , takes some sting off de man. 1981 when he started poor people were classified 2 be as poor as 'church' rats n parents wept when their wards opted 2 preach de good news of christ; today the words church and 'pastor' has become synonymous with wealth due to men of God like him, Idahosa, Adeboye et al. Besides if any organization ought 2 be sitting on money it should be God's organization, he owns the money. Finally while they can not take care of large congregations, cell fellowships or small groups in the church have the responsibility of catering for their members especially those in need and they are funded fully for this purpose by the church. Please leave the man of God alone.
Until the congregation is allowed free access to "their" private jet whenever they need to travel, then come back with the bold line above. "Men of God" can shove it for all i care. if all u do is preach "prosperity," and that prosperity is geared only to ur pocket by way of your congregation, then once again this "Man of God" can shove it even higher. 4 freakin private jets. . paid for by some of the poorest and most gullible people on the planet. . its a damn shame! |
^^ sorry i dont, they've all been sold out for a while. thanks. |
uhmm. . am i missing something here? or how is this any different from any other naija production. 0:42- 0:45 was one decent shot i saw ( effective use of shallow depth of field) , second one 1:00 - 1:12 (effective crane descent). everything else = good ol boring, in your face nollywood shots. Then again, thats just my opinion. |
i understand the rationale behind picking them up in a large open vehicle, so they could enjoy the cheers of fans and all, but what i dont get is how the eff they felt that old blue drum was the one. in my Abacha accent : Whoeba ficked out Zhis behicle is immeziately reliebed op his duties, and his entaaya cabinet DISSOLBED! |

uhhm. . formal language?? the prospect of that might sound exciting, but the true beauty of speaking pidgin lies in the ability to do so however the heck u want. Take that freedom and flexibilty; put it in a confined structure with 'standardized' set of rules. now there you have it; another soulless language ridden with conformity. the main yarn na say, when i siddon dey blow my pidgin how i like, i for no like any oversabi to tel me which 1 be which. |

@smlafolabi thanks for your response, i will contact you on the number provided. however, i must reiterate that glass wont work for its purpose. i'm looking towards wood or something along its lines. thanks |
any quotes or suggestions are still welcomed |
okay am'a refrain from joining the back n forth bickering going on here. all i'll say bout the vid is this : THATS ONE HELLA CREEPY, EERIE vid. over 6 minutes and not a single word. just hand gestures n sad faces. u sure they aint 'really' building some sort'a 'shutter island' type deal over there? haaa. . . thats some horrible visual documentary. |
email sent. |
thanks guys for your responses, i will email u guys that posted emails some more details, and a pic of the space. for the purpose of the place, i have reviewed and determined that aluminium will not work coz of its fusion with glass; owing to privacy issues. plus it is a little too formal for the intended purpose. so i guess it has to be wood or something in that category like plasterboard as suggested above. Considering that i live in an all wood house thats 100 years old, i dont see why wood shouldnt work. any other suggestions will be appreciated. thanks |
haaa. . . thats some horrible visual documentary.
