This is the state that honours a convicted thief called Alamieyesiegha, who was pardoned by way of tribalism and nepotism of the highest order. Now they are hungry, while Alamieyesiegha has saved enough for his future generations. I hope Ben Bruce would promise to devote his salary to his actual constituency now, despite not fulfilling the promise he made to Osun state civil servants. |
Congratulations to the Northern politicians. They have no fancy degrees, but they know how to represent their constituencies. Some only represent on twitter, while their ignorant constituency also congregate to support the North siphoning funds off the projects allocated to them, so as to fund more projects in the North. |
AdamsBashforth:Is he not a Southerner? Or are you the one to decide who is bereaved or not? |
I believe the government called it modernization. This could mean pulling out all the existing junk for something that does not look like cold war Russia or East Germany. |
Esseite:There is nothing different with what Fashola did with destitute and miscreant Nigerians from different states across different tribes. Or did you not read that some of them have been reunited with their family both within and outside Nigeria? The sequence starts with their arrest/rescue (more of a forceful arrest after a tiring street chase) from the streets, then they are rehabilitated in a government center and accommodated while their family information is obtained from the willing. Those without any family to take responsibility for their care in Lagos are reunited to their state of origin or residence. Remember, under the bridge is not a residence or home, and without any legitimate economic activity doing, no state is willing to bear the responsibility of another state, hence their return to whence they came. As it stands, there is no better way of ridding buoyant economy states of the myriad of destitutes that serve no purpose than nuisance. They must be sent back to their families wherever they are, or their state of origin should carry the burden. Peter Obi of Anambra did the same relocation of destitutes to Akwa-Ibom and Ebonyi before Fashola. Fashola also did the same relocation to other SW states and the North before he did same to Anambra. Akwa Ibom did same to other states including Lagos. However some people rejoice in being seen on the news as victims of ethnic affront, some also cannot make any headway in life in their region without coming to Lagos - hence the need to fight for their economic survival in that particular case. Also the political climate then with the upcoming Anambra election between Ngige of APC and APGA ensured Peter Obi nurtured the episode for full political advantage. |
Excuzeme:I love how you clearly analysed how Northern senators deliberately siphoned the funds for a Southern coastal rail line to fund other projects in the North. Hatred has blinded many, leading to many downfalls. That some Southerners continue to argue in support of the Northern senators on this very matter, is testimony to the self destruction hatred can cause. I congratulate the North for not being stupid. You barely see them ranting on twitter or pursuing a vendetta against their political opponents when the time to win the bread is at hand. Politics was surely mastered by some, while others have convinced themselves that they are only entitled to eat the breadcrumbs that fall off the table. |
Adaure4ever:Paupers everywhere berating others about free 10mb. What is that by the way? Is that a data plan you're on? I only hear about it from comments like yours. Let him be a hero. How does that erode the fact that his funeral was abandoned by regional governors who should see him as their hero? |
odikimi:Every state has its highbrows and low income areas. The Yorubas will always be more in their own land except the ones that have been abandoned for refugees. Ogun state is better that Bayelsa. Oyo state is better than Bayelsa, Ondo state is better than Bayelsa, Ekiti and Osun are way better than Bayelsa. Is if they are mad people's assylum, then more than 2/3 9f Nigeria is an asylum. Yet all these states above receive economic refugees daily. |
odikimi:The worst part of Lagos are the slums and shanties like Ajegunle and the like. A lot of South South and South East people live there. I'm sure you've heard of the likes of daddy showkey? Where else can economic refugees afford to live? When the blessings of Lagos come upon them and they make it in Lagos unlike their abandoned regions, they get to move into the better parts of Lagos where they are given a chance to associate with Yorubas of means and not area boys. Infact an Igbo from Ajegunle axis got elected into the federal house of Representatives. The sad part is whenever the state decides to clear off those slums and shanties, it is the economic refugees from outside Yorubaland that will be begging the state government to spare them, that the government hates poor people. |
odikimi:Yes you are not my class because you don't know who I am too. Do you know if you're even working for me?Do you know if it is in my power to lay you off that well paying job? |
odikimi:Awolowo went to the UK to receive a Law degree. Alamieyesiegha ran from the UK dressed like a woman to evade the law. Awolowo was craftily put away by the government of the 1st republic, they got their reward in full years later. Those who remained alive were never relevant politically again. Alamco made a mockery of himself. His regional governors couldn't even give him a befitting burial. They deserted him like he deserted the UK. My place is very useless, yet we receive a lot of economic refugees from other regions daily. Again this argument has nothing to do with tribe or region.it is about a convicted thief who died while running from justice and ended up in his own country where he had looted funds meant for health care that could have saved him. Many died like him because of poor health care services, so Alamco only fell on his own sword. |
odikimi:You are the one who turned this into a region and tribe argument. A thief is a thief. I don't need to come to Bayelsa. Let the people there continue to enjoy what Alamco did for them. You don't need to tell me that your state parades the best crop of murderers and assasins. The concluded elections there and in Rivers already gives credence to that My sermon is not for criminals and those who they give crumbs from the dining table like you, it is for those Bayelsans who can't travel to Dubai to receive the health care that Alamco put up there for them. |
odikimi:I just realised you're a relation of Alamco, hence the defence. Sorry for your loss. All your argument has been about region or tribe or calling people derogatory names. What has all of that got to do with the fact that a dead Alamieyesiegha who is the most important person in Nigeria according to your assertion, was left to be buried by only his family like you? Or you didn't read the title and its content? Where did his regional governors go to that not even one of them attended except his Bayelsa state governor? Yet you compare him to my region? Indeed he did more than anybody from my region. He stole and crossed-dressed to run to Nigeria from Britain. He was convicted, pardoned due to tribalism and nepotism by his former boy boy, but still had to run from Dubai like a fugitive that he was, to come die in Nigeria like the peasants his type make of Nigerians who are denied the dividends of good governance. A pardoned man yet hunted into death by his own past. Why didn't he die in the hospital he built in his Bayelsa state? Ok! He built it in Dubai and Port Harcourt for Bayelsans. I wasn't the one who called PDP an Ijaw party, it was Jonathan who gave them a regional status as a Southern party, while Namadi Samabo had to do the reverse in the North, claiming that PDP was a Northern party. As long as PDP is kept away from the federal government and away from federal funds to loot, Nigeria can only be better for it. 16years of failure cannot be overlooked except by a thieving mind like yours. Go and bail Osun out like Senator Ben Bruce whose state constituency don't have drinking water? The people of Nembe and Ogbainbiri in Bayelsa wash in the brown dirt water of the creeks where they shit. I believe such people need your help more than the civil servants being owed salary by many states across all regions of Nigeria. |
odikimi:Indeed Alamieyesiegha died a shameful death he deserved. On that note you are very right. Infact he still had a case to answer to in the UK and he remained a fugitive who jumped bail dressed like a Christian mother. His fugitive status despite his pardon by his tribal brother protege, ensured he ran back to Nigeria when he got wind that the British were poised to come get him in Dubai. The poetic justice in his shameful episode was that his home state of Bayelsa had no reputable health care to provide him despite that he ruled the state and his state protege was president for 5yrs. He died shamefully in a federal hospital that was poorly equipped by the PDP federal government that ruled at the center for 16yrs. In essence, he died the kind of death he provided for his people. He had no chance to die in a fancy hospital in Dubai. Funny you still couldn't tell me the incriminating evidence used to convict Awolowo. Yes it was a civilian court under a democratic regime. Whatever happened to the coalition that ruled then and contrived the treasonable felony charge? Their respective tribesmen ended up killing their opposite leaders in the civilian regime and military, while the civilians had a pogrom to keep themselves weeping. While Awolowo was a spectator who was begged to come help the government of the day. Apparently you're already suffering from an inferiority complex to the Yorubas and Northerners. Unfortunately, I can't help you with that. I am not defending Buhari for terminating a democratic government, infact I am celebrating him from saving Nigeria from criminals who masqueraded as a civilian government to loot the nation dry. Buhari locked them up in jail where they belong, and even made the bold move to kidnap a thieving minister of transportation Umaru Dikko who wrongly thought he had escaped Nigeria and the furious justice he deserved. You are a criminal who would support your type, but hate anyone who tries to fight crime. |
odikimi:Abiola was elected a democratic President in a generally free and fair election, only to be incarcerated for insisting on his mandate by a treasonous military regime itself that assumed power without any electorate's vote, yet you think your argument is sound that he died in prison over Treason? A legitimate president elect is charged for treason by an illegitimate military regime that sacked an illegal interim government, and you think that is a normal dispensation of justice? Kindly stop making foolish arguments that confer on you the title of an uncivilised human. Remind me the incriminating evidence that was used to convict Awolowo of treason. I know there was a kangaroo court, but what was that incriminating evidence that no Nigerian, not even his political adversaries, seem to remember? All the people you've mentioned were not pardoned for stealing public funds. So there's no comparison to be made to DSP Alamieyesiegha, who was convicted for stealing state funds. His people are rightly suffering for it without any drinkable water even in Otuoke despite also having their own son as deputy governor, governor, vice president, and president. Kindly tell when Buhari was imprisoned for treason? I hope you're not referring to the imprisonment when his military regime was sacked by the same military boys that put him there? How is that a treason related imprisonment? Did the Babangida regime term it so or was Buhari ever convicted by the Babangida regime, or your mind was just being creative? When did being locked up in prison amount to being a convict without any known judgement by court or tribunal? Were Alex Ekwueme and Ojukwu convicts because they were imprisoned by Buhari's regime, even though they were never convicted of any crime and subsequently released? That you have friends across the country that are bigots, leaves no one surprised that you're one also. I bet your so called friends also told you they hate your own tribe too, but you suffer from such a terrible inferiority complex that you continue to fraternise with them and seek their approval. Must you look for the approval of the North to consider yourself a Nigerian with dignity? If anybody hates the Yoruba like poo, let them know that is their own allocation of blessings. Some have to thrive while some have to be the haters. |
crestedaguiyi:I'm not surprised an Igbo man made this comment. Maybe this mayhem occured because Ben Ayade is a PDP governor - a party now led by Ali Modu Sheriff of boko haram. |
kingofchess:If he is as you have alleged, does that stop him from being human and rendering help? Wike that was stealing with him as his chief of staff was still voted and rigged in as governor by those who call Amaechi a thief. Jonathan that is a greater thief is still some people's hero. |
tonio2wo:What about the man in white top and the one with the orange marked top with backpack entering the vehicle in the 2nd to the last picture? Madonna had this to say: "You only see what your eyes want to see, how can life be what you want it to be, you're broken when your heart's not open. If I could melt your heart." |
kingofchess:But if news surfaced that he drove past without helping, you would say our leaders are heartless? Has it ever occurred to you that you the followers are senseless? |
If Trudeau was 43 when he became Prime Minister, even we have had leaders in their 30's yet no great development then. FDR wasn't a young man when he was president, yet he made long-lasting positive changes to the structures of America. So enough of all this irrelevant age campaign, as long as physical health is not impaired. As for politician's kids studying abroad and eventually succeeding their fathers as the political elite, even Ben Bruce's kids too studied abroad, and it wasn't some rocket science courses unavailable in Nigeria, rather they were regular courses available in those satellite campus type of institutions. Lastly, a man who joyfully supports a senate president on trial for false assets declaration and embezzlement of state funds, with same accused Senate President having a history of past police investigations of his shady banking deals, is not the one to teach any morality to the Nigerian youth. Ben Bruce is a fraud like all others that have proselytised before him. |
Fayose's online crew will soon tag this a lie from Lai Mohammed. This is the same Fayose that has been running from pillar to post over the DSS doing its lawful duty, yet he was an advocate for the political use of the military and other security forces. Can anyone imagine a Fayose as president, while a governor of a politically irrelevant state is antagonising him every day? A Fayose who sees no wrong in slapping a judge? I pity that governor and his family. |
Pheals:You are a hypocrite, that's what you are. |
At the end of his tenure, Buhari might be called all sorts of names both positive and negative, but I am certain nobody will ever call him an ineffectual buffoon. Jonathan, I hope you're now learning how not to be a moronic commander in chief, even in matters that you also decried - like the NIS recruitment tragedy and the refusal of presidential orders by Abba Moro to refund the N1000 application fee, instead going ahead to buy himself a house. Bode George that refused presidential orders at the NPA as regards the operation of private bank accounts for public funds, Yar'Adua made sure he became a convict. Jonathan made sure everybody stole till they had nowhere else to hide it and required underground vaults. A president who is scared of his own shadow cannot exert any authority. Jonathan is a sissy, and we can all hear it in his voice. |
Naija9090:Same old news but no fake. The same lawyer of his who said it was untrue, came out days later to say he never wrote any apology letters to those mentioned, but that it was his written statement while at the DSS. The irony there was that the initial news report never said he wrote any apology letter, but only quoted the apologies in the same statement written at the DSS. Apparently, the lawyer was too stupid to grasp the original news report. |
bugzbunny:Olodo... There are Yorubas in the SS too. Go tell that to your Igbo brothers too. You being in the SS doesn't give you the ownership of the heterogeneous and multi-ethnic SS. I couldn't care less if you as Igbo in the SS want to associate with your kind in the SE. So next time just say "we Igbos", not we SE and SS. I hope you have been educated? |
Why is the SE so insecure it has to stand on the legs of the SS? |
As long as it is food, Fayose must be there to commission it. He is living up to his campaign promise of stomach infrastructure. Wetin small boy wan do with school? Dem dey chop school? When there's a government of stomach infrastructure to cater for him now and also for his own family in the future, education is irrelevant in the era of Fayose. If Fayose could make it without education or forged HND, every Ekiti resident only need food in the stomach to also make it. |
Some people seem to spend all of their lives craving for anarchy. |
Ben Bruce suddenly discovered twitter, now Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus must be given a run for their money and followers. |
A celebrity Senator. Trending is more important than legislating. The irony is that his tweets only disturb the urbane residents of Lagos, Abuja, PH etc. His constituents don't even know about his posturing and allure for the media spotlight. Their needs are still very basic. |
I wonder why the much touted republican Igbo suddenly want to be kings even on foreign soil? Whatever happened to "the Igbo have no king"? Yet the only culture that is being propagated by the Igbos is that of royalty and kingship. So is the touted history a lie, or there's nothing desirable about that history such that a foreign culture is now embraced as tradition? |
