Remii:naijaboy756, Ugonnax, what do you have to say to this about the sterling Okonjo Iweala? I believe this borrowed money to pay salaries was under the same period the Naira was on a freefall. What happened to all the oil revenue when Brent crude was above $100pbbl? Why would Okonjo - Iweala need to borrow funds of about N470B by her own admission, to pay salaries within the last 3months of the Jonathan administration? Yet you still wonder why Kemi Adeosun is not a magician in 4months, and Nigeria needs to beg Okonjo-Iweala to come and do what exactly? Are you guys high or what? |
naijaboy756:Help on how to provide unallocated funds for political party "warfare"? Or is it help on how to approve import waivers to cronies of the government? Or how to lie when accused, but then succumb in the face of unrelenting evidence, and admit that indeed I lied previously? Why didn't she render the help to herself and build our foreign reserves with increased oil revenue? Or is the ECA funds the same as foreign reserve? What exactly did Okonjo-Iweala achieve under Don Fortunato? |
naijaboy756:Ok! Ciroma it must be then, after Kemi Adeosun has had her fair time of 4years to correct the damage caused by the past government. |
naijaboy756:I agree that the governors requested for their due share since Okonjo-Iweala and Fortunato were already stealing the money behind their back and without approval. Kemi Adeosun should resign because she has not solved the problem caused by PDP in 4months? You are a joker. Did Okonjo-Iweala resign when the Naira fell from N170 to N240 between November 2014 and February 2015? Did you call for her resignation? |
naijaboy756:I also know people like you, Ugonnax and ExplorerReturns. When Buhari is unsatisfied with Kemi Adeosun's performance, we will go and get the old Adamu Ciroma to come be finance minister's for the 3rd time. You should be happy then, seeing you love to recycle old hands and the rate of the Naira to Dollar was about N100 during his tenure. From your absurd logic, that alone makes him a better Finance Minister. Maybe you'll just come out with your true grievance and disclose thst he is not Igbo, so he is not qualified, right? |
naijaboy756:You are a poor excuse for an advocate. |
Ugonnax:You suddenly lost your voice? Please provide him an answer to his questions since you are good with timelines and official currency conversion rates. |
naijaboy756:The governors got money legitimately from the ECA. Did the federal government as executed by Okonjo-Iweala do so? Are you not the one making noise that the governors are to blame? Why did Okonjo Iweala make an unauthorised withdrawal knowing that the rules stated that the states must give co-approval with the FG? Is she not a criminal? Yet you want us to have a criminal back as Finance Minister to do what exactly? What did she benefit the last administration? Dasukigate? |
naijaboy756:I thought you would actually have a counter argument? You didn't even deny the accusations? |
naijaboy756:Haven't the events revealed so far suggest that the governors were right in demanding their own share of the ECA before the federal government finish it all? Didn't the same Okonjo-Iweala make deductions from the ECA without the approval of the state governments as mandated by the rules that guide the ECA? She initially lied that she made no such withdrawal, then faced with evidence by a tenacious Oshiomhole, she admitted she did so after Jonathan gave sole approval - something outside of his powers. |
Ugonnax:Why are you being smart by half? What events led to the sudden fall of the Naira vs the Dollar, within the few months, from the N175 in November 2014 to over N240 before it then settled at N210 in May 2015? Is that the achievement for which you want her to return? Do you think this is a PDP government in power that keeps recycling ministers? When she is eventually picked up for her numerous crimes of making expenditures without budget, then you can bail her out to come minister to your household. |
So Okonjo Iweala must be the lifetime minister of finance in Nigeria? What were her achievements? |
omenka:Lol! |
Aisha Yesufu's question to Mama Taraba was a sucker punch. Indeed she headed to the elections tribunal and did not leave her own matter to any God. She took action, so let her and the federal government take action too. Let the parents know what the government is doing or not doing if the situation is already beyond redemption as I suspect. Her statement only shows that a lot of people are hypocrites and not responsible enough to be put in a position of power for the benefit of the citizenry. In fact, Aisha Yesufu should replace Aisha Alhassan as minister of women affairs. She will operate with more vigour and alacrity for the good of the welfarist responsibilities of that ministry. |
You forget that the ministry of information also includes the erstwhile ministry of communications. Did you bother to review the individual allocation of the ministry's budget proposal, or you just felt without any empiricism that information and communications is irrelevant? Wrong information! Both are now separate. My apologies! |
dafuturis:I concur with all my being. Even my dic.k nods in approval. |
Trying so hard to personally link the newspaper's compensation money for siezed paper supplies and equipment to Tinubu. |
I recommend 1yr/million if he is found guilty. Doing so will truly make him a legend like Methuselah. |
asadike:How come you didn't add aviation and education? Infact, just take everything while we watch from the sidelines? Even Buhari has asked if your people want him to leave his seat for them. Someone has only spent 3months in office, yet she's a failure because of what? She gave Dasuki unallocated funds? |
NOI was the best. She left us with a paradise. Even the West wondered how she managed to turn Nigeria into the world's 3rd biggest economy after US and China? But Doyin Okupe reminded us, "Nigeria is not America we cannot afford new trains". Then Dasuki chipped in, "but we can siphon money in billions of dollars with the finance minister's approval". |
snailspeed:I won't. Dasuki is being prosecuted same with Dokpesi and Akpobolokemi. Any other person that adds himself on the list will have no sympathy from me. Instead I will be championing the clamour that the President shows more will and continue being ruthless in the fight against corruption. Its been long we had a president show any interest in abolishing corruption. Where was EFCC after the OBJ regime? Did they even have funds for office stationery in Jonathan's regime? Now they are back with a vicious bang and many are not happy to see them. Well, I am. I hope you won't be found missing in that terrain where justice is dished sumptuously to the thieving? I hope you are not one of many who see the fight as a witch-hunt? |
inlandtaipan:Bros you no know website ooo. No be Django technologies design am ooo. Am trying my best not to mention companies here. |
inlandtaipan:Ok! Let us hear from the ministry what such website has to offer. For the mere fact that I know a website is not as cheap as most people think all websites should be, then I am even more eager to know also. Then maybe I will spare some quality time and do an analysis comparing with other offerings. Maybe I will be the one to shout the loudest Ole with you begging me to stop "nitori olorun". |
snailspeed:It is best you drop all now so we can all address it. We cannot afford to have a continuation of Jonathan's regime. Nigerians have suffered enough. Also make sure you get the conniving and irresponsible NA to critically screen the budget and the ministers when they come defend their budget. That is the way of a patriot. Your reward is in the change you bring about. I read about Patrick Akpobolokemi and Tompolo's loot and I wished that they had bundled the guy into the vehicle on his re-arrest with his head dragging on the road. That guy had no conscience, yet we had a president then? |
Reyginus:Yes I know the country is damn broke. Even I feel it also. The very reason why the president gave our golden eaglets just a N20k token each besides the regular match bonuses. Yet the same people who cry there is no dollars, there is no arms deal it is a hoax , leave our brother alone, Dasuki prosecution is witchhunting bla bla bla, they were the very ones who castigated the president for paying the eaglest what they called a miserable amount. Some even exposed their true grievance, claiming the president did so because most of the players are not from the North. I have nothing to gain in a corrupt and wasteful Nigeria, but a lot to gain in a corrupt free Nigeria because my way is not that of corruption. Let Fayemi come explain why he needs to build a website that cost that much because I know that such an expensive website can exist and already does exist in many corners of the world. The question is why does the ministry need such and of what benefit is it to the economy of the country. In that regard, I agree with you 100% But in your own hate, you have lost what makes a human being different from lesser animals - the ability to learn when taught. |
snailspeed:I fail to see any corruption established here. A budget has been presented with monetary allocations. The topic of discussion is one of them and by law the NA should screen and debate it. Or has anyone stolen any money? Those who have stolen are being prosecuted by this government and I am happy you also support the fight against corruption. Whatever explanation the minister gives to whatever allocations to his ministry, it behoves all of us to ensure that such monies, even if just N50k, are spent as allocated and in accordance to due process in awarding contracts. If the above is not followed by the minister, call on me and I will join you and Reyginus and help3852 and danmasani101 to shout Ole. For now, calm your nerves and wait for the crime to be committed first. Let us see how the present thieves who have actually stolen both allocated and unallocated funds are tried by the Buhari regime. You should put the heat on the government and ensure that the prosecution that has already started results to lengthy jail terms for all of them, whether sick, crippled, on hunger strike or whatnot. |
Reyginus:I believe I have made my position clear on the need to have the ministry explain this expenditure. You however seem to be unable to wrap your head around the fact that a website can cost millions of dollars. Not all people have the same exposure. However when someone has told you something is possible because it has been done, don't hang on aimlessly to a notion borne out of ignorance. Or don't you understand what it means that something has already occurred and become established as a fact, a history? When I told a friend back in school that some young employees earn over N50m pa in this country, they called me all sorts of names. There is little I can do for the ignorant. Many of such people are now working jobs that pay what their narrow mind could fathom, I am working a job that my wild and adventurous mind could also fathom. Stop arguing in ignorance. Same applies to Mr Django and his N5m website guys. |
help3852:So you intend to only make noise online and then go to bed and pretend that this debate never happened? You have already foreclosed on yourself deserving an explanation? Whoever put that in the budget obviously knew people like you really do not care about anything. |
snailspeed:Even if they had just a front page, it is on record that they had one. A new website will still be called an update. Even if it was awarded to an entirely different company, it would still be termed an update. So do you now understand that an update is not a change of font colour? Cc: Reyginus I already understood that your brain was refusing to see an update as something that could be expensive, hence the need to view it in a term that is amenable. Update doesn't translate to cheap. Update could very well mean jettison and replace. |
snailspeed:Obviously he doesn't work in a company that will give such high security contract to a group of Django guys. Get over yourself. He has already stated his reservation about a Nigerian government office having such a budget considering the corrupt peculiarities of Nigeria. Concerning your question in bold, that is what the updated website should reveal. I believe the ministry would be responding soon. Lets see what explanation they have for such expenditure. |

If Chiroma, Soludo or Ngozi can help out, let's keep pride aside and approach them. All we want is the betterment of our country...
