For the 1st time since the return to democracy, PDP is being matched in the struggle to dominate Bayelsa politics. This is a good development for Bayelsa, but PDP is not familiar with such competition, hence the jitters. As for the OP, lie small small. |
excel4us:He was actually arrested being an NPN party man. All top political leaders of both the ruling NPN and the opposition parties, and almost all top office holders at the national and state levels were arrested at the onset of the Buhari regime. However, like Buhari said that the mum should not worry not, he and some others were set free by the truth as the Buhari government did not press any charges. |
christopher123:Why are you this daft? You have not refuted the fact that Ajayi Crowther was born and bred in Yoruba land before being captured into slavery? Does the adoption of a name change a man's ethnicity? Is it not on record that his ship had even yet to sail before he was rescued by the British who then sent him to live in Sierra Leone among the creoles? As for the creoles, the Yorubas among them even returned to Yorubaland, while some remain there in Sierra Leone retaining their Yoruba identity underneath the larger Creole identity. So how much more a boy who departed the Yoruba shores a freeman? It is the hurt that a Yoruba taught the Igbo how to read and write their own language. What a shame. Seriously, I get your pain. Sorry! |
christopher123:Because they did not cry victimisation, they did not require it. Please keep talking. I like how you are coming out of the closet, revealing what we had long known that the Igbo man loves his ego to be massaged. I have quoted this for future reference so as to judge people by the standards they have set themselves. All cries of marginalization are empty and futile attempts to be rewarded without merit. Prof Itse Sagay was right afterall. |
christopher123:It seems am arguing with a down syndrome patient. I reckon I'm also Ghanaian or from the Middle East having visited those places among other countries? I have already refuted your claim for the benefit of the viewing public. I am not trained to educate the mentally handicapped. I best ignore you, lest I begin to wallow in idiocy. |
christopher123:Yes he apologized if they felt offended but he did not regret his actions because it was not informed by any tribal victimisation and it was necessary. Now that you also know this as you've admitted above, try educate those who spread such propaganda. |
christopher123:He is a Yoruba boy from Iseyin and if he was born in Iseyin and died in Lagos, then he is a Yoruba ambassador. I reckon he is also British for living there, and also Igbo too for residing there? |
christopher123:Creole because he identified as part of Sierra Leone's freed slave contingent. In Ajayi Crowther's case, he was a full blooded Yoruba boy who's slave ship was intercepted at port. He was rescued and sent to Sierra Leone before being trained in Britain. So his identity as creole is because he was resident there in freetown with returnee African slaves of which Yorubas were still a significant population. |
Hafter1:Don't mind them. I have learnt to treat them according to the standards they set for themselves. However they expect that they should be specially regarded for any plans the Lagos state government has. Lagos state government will continue to execute its development plan without any special regard for the Igbos. If they want special regard, let them get it from Theodore Orji who they rewarded with a senatorial ticket for the markets he demolished in Abia state. |
SonOfEl:I have only held you up to the standard you set. That is how much I love the Igbos. |
LMFashions:Because Peter Obi thought it was good for the politics of getting Obiano elected ahead of APC's Ngige. The records are there if you want to see it. It was released on this very forum then. Also records showing that Peter Obi also relocated destitutes before Fashola did. I suspect communication broke down when the governors became entrenched in 2 opposing camps during the Nigerian Governors Forum crisis that Jonathan instigated but eventually led to his sack. I will always justify any demolition that creates a better Lagos. Various notices were given so I do not sympathise with the stubborn regardless of their tribe. |
LMFashions:Lagos state has never relocated any economically active immigrant resident in Lagos. As an aftermath of raids done to dislodge miscreants from the streets and under the bridges, and to clamp down on street hawking, many were found not to hold any residence in Lagos. Neither could they get any one resident in Lagos to come bail them into their custody. Lagos simply did what Anambra had done in the past with Ebonyi and Akwa Ibom destitutes, just as Akwa Ibom also did to Lagos destitutes. Lagos began relocating the destitutes back to their state of origin and most recent abode. They were sent back to states in the North, to Osun and Ondo state too. The ones meant for Anambra state had been communicated to the state government who also replied. When communication broke down later on between the 2 states, Fashola took the bull by the horn and rid Lagos state of Anambra's problem just like Peter Obi did for Anambra state previously to the admiration of Anambra residents. So try erase the notion that Lagos state goes into someone's home or legitimate business abode and relocates them back to their state of origin due to hatred. |
LMFashions:I have no evil but I believe I should judge others by their own standards. The 2 instances I gave are very apt in this matter. As for the notice given, everyone who knows that market knows that it's been planned for relocation years ago. Discussions and notices have happened numerous times in the past. The state government has confirmed that it had given another notice 3 months ago. I trust the Lagos state government to have its record for that claim. Any claim that they got 21days notice only means the last notification was 21days to the demolition. Does that erase the earlier notices? Yet some still lied that they never got notices at all? |
LMFashions:People always shout that Lagos is overpopulated. What exactly were 2000-5000 traders doing in that little space in Oshodi? If the new market will accommodate just 600 traders, then let the rest find other markets in other states where they are welcome. Not everybody likes the chaotic environment that others seem to require to thrive. Lagos state is saying we don't need the extra baggage, but you say you want to trade in Lagos by force. Does economic refugee ring a bell? I thought Lagos was making its big IGR from Igbo traders and not the big industries? Yet 5000 minus 600 traders (4400) need another market to accommodate them. I wonder what Kettykin has in place for those among them who are Igbos? He has always been a proponent of Igbos divesting from Lagos and moving to the East or Abuja. Now imagine all Igbo traders in Nigeria returning to the East? Nothing but chaos and anarchy. Kettykin would then quietly make himself scarce. |
LMFashions:Maybe the other tribes were allowed to take their own goods out? Funny, an Igbo dude here once beat his chest that Igbos decide who gets what in Lagos. One of many reason why I have no empathy when government decides how Lagos is developed. Another Igbo dude was reminded some years ago here that he had not condemned a certain demolition of markets in Abia State. He retorted saying as long as it was done by his tribesman, it was certainly done with good intentions for the state. I also believe this demolition was done with good intentions for my state, which will not have any recourse to another tribe's opinion on the matter. |
BekeeBuAgbara:Prof. Adeoye Lambo, deputy DG WHO. |
brize:I will remind your refugee king that was flogged in Akure that he is actually living in Lagos. |
explorer250:The waste that many troop daily from the East to live in. |
totit:Ok! Safe journey to sanity. I will stay here and cure their craze. |
Udmaster:You want me to rejoice with you over achievements made by Igbo women in the 21st century? Don't you know that Yoruba women had long achieved greater firsts in the 1st half of the 20th century, and more in the 2nd half of that century? Well if Igbo men could play catchup, why should we expect a better performance from the females. You are the catchup tribe. It is your glory so just accept it and go to bed. Try not to wake-up in the morning before a Yoruba man ooo, because there's no recognition for that. |
totit:But why did a Yoruba man teach these dudes how to read and write their own language? History can really be wicked to the tribally arrogant. |
saxywale:Are you asking again? The most revered Igbo scholar, Achebe had already admitted that long ago. Their new love FFK had also schooled them on some manners a short time ago. Instead of facing the main message about their lack of a cultural or academic history, they all rallied against him over the 3 Igbo flings he had in the past because one of them became their de facto queen. When the dust finally settled with all sorts of ultimatums gone by without FFK retracting his statement about the flings, they conceded and gifted him with another Igbo concubine. |
Weedcrusher:It is better to address the Igbo challenge with 4 times more venom than they spew. I only whipped the idiot trolling me just with a few lines, and he started speaking tribal gibberish and wailing out loud to his tribes men living in the same yard with him. Now imagine if I had brought out my full arsenal, he would have called the ICC for succour. |
Udmaster:Hey! A Yoruba man has just seen a falling star, won't you quickly go look for yours in the sky? |
Udmaster:When an Igbo man cannot belch after his morning meal, it is the fault of the Yoruba man. The OP is wondering why his foolish brother would easily deny him. |
Udmaster:Ajayi Crowther really tried for the Igbos. Would a bushman without a language primer have assumed such academic positions? |
Udmaster:An Igbo man is crying for your attention, please come to the aid of your brother. |
Udmaster:Go back to the 1st post and acknowledge your brother who is the OP. You guys just love stirring up trouble, when you are whipped into line you begin to cry for ICC to come help you out. You started a thread, now you will soon begin to plead for mercy. |
Udmaster:Look at a catchup clansman calling me a Yoruba boy illiterate. I'm sure my educated greatgrandfather had an Igbo cook those days in Lagos Island. I bet he was magnanimous enough to teach him how to speak and write English. Even Ajayi Crowther taught the bushmen from the East how to structure their own language by constructing their primer so they can be literate. |
Udmaster:Has your tribe produced the head of World Health Organisation? I'm so happy it hurt you to see the truth. You have shown us your dic.k, and I have shown you that it's been weighed, it's been measured, and it's been found wanting. |
kingdompropty:Yoruba Judges in the US. nigeriavillagesquare.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-75586.html https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glenda_Hatchett Igbos too have finally caught up true to fashion. |
The Igbo man has always loved to compare himself to a Yoruba standard, while Yorubas just keep on setting standards for the rest of Africa. Talk about catching up? Yorubas became lawyers, Igbos are now lawyers too. Yorubas became doctors, Igbos are now doctors too Yorubas became engineers, Igbos are now engineers too. Yorubas became bankers, Igbos are now bankers too. Yorubas became judges in UK and USA, An Igbo man has finally become a Judge too in the USA. Soyinka became 1st African Nobel Laureate, Igbos say it is irrelevant, once an Igbo gets awarded it would become mighty relevant. This is what Achebe termed as the East catching up with the West. The West remains a reference to development globally. East Germany trying to measure up to West Germany before the unification. Western Europe trying to pull Eastern Europe out of the 3rd world. Did a Yoruba man not recently become a key Obama staff? Deputy National Security Adviser? One day, God willing, the Igbos will catch up in this regard too. OP, should I playback the piece that FFK once wrote about the Igbos before you gave him your sister so he could hush up? |
