I can see it is a Toyota and not Innoson. Obiano also hates his people? |
Pebcak:What has the post you quoted got to do with the debate about the cost of the project that the OP falsely posted? What has it got to do with me making you look like a fool, just because you lied that you read the whole of the 1st page of the thread but somehow missed the crux of the debate? Next time, never rush to make comments. |
yellowsun:You asked much more. You also made allusions to the position of Osun schools as opposed to Anambra schools. You went ahead to provide a link to buttress what you believe was a superior academic facility by the Anambra state government. Now see link below and feed your eyes to what Aregbesola is also doing in Osun state www.nairaland.com/2749096/aregbesola-set-commission-ejigbo-high It is easy for anyone to think his own farm is the biggest, when you haven't any idea what else exist in the wild. As for Opon Imo, I don't get your argument. Are you saying that an initiative that saved N8.6B relative to the alternative, is not sustainable? Are you implying that the project was a waste while adjudged to have saved N8.6B? Why should a cheaper initiative not be sustainable? That question should not even come up at all. As long as Osun state wants to continue saving money, that cheaper alternative will forever be sustainable. Except of course, the contractor lobby to supply books and other analogue teaching paraphernalia is greater than the common sense to provide a cheaper and advanced alternative. |
yellowsun:I am not a media representative for either state's government. I believe useful information should be found on the state's website and from people who are resident in either state. I have not heard that Osun state schools are suffering unchecked dilapidation. Instead, the news coming from Osun has been about the government commissioning great structures and promising to do more. I believe the bulk of the positive news that has emanated from Osun state since Aregbesola's tenure has been about the investments made in education. For this singular reason, I expect Osun to compete favourably with any other state in Nigeria. While the pictures in the link you have posted look good, you sure haven't seen the pictures of the schools Aregbesola commissioned. The bone of contention here is about the OP falsely propagating information about the cost of the Opon Imo project and comparing this false cost to the cost of laptops bought by Anambra state. A storm in a tea cup. |
Pebcak:Dude, why do you insist on making a fool of yourself this early in the year? You lied that you read the whole of the 1st page before making your comment, I urged you to re-read it, yet you are still wallowing in idiocy. You so much remind me of the NSCDC guy who embarrassed himself on Channels TV, instead of just admitting that he did not know his agency's website. I raised the issue of credible news source. With all the sources provided to shame the OP in the series of posts that ended the 1st page, you still ask me for a credible source? Are you mentally handicapped or what? You asked for the cost? http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2013/06/19/opon-imo-inspirational-message-from-state-of-osun/ You need proof that it saved N8.6B by eliminating the alternative? http://www.channelstv.com/home/2013/06/03/opon-imo-will-save-osun-n8-4-billion-of-textbook-procurement-costs/ That you do not know the economic concept of opportunity cost, easily explains why you need to go back to secondary school, so you can be gifted with the Opon Imo to read it up cheaper than a teacher and text book would have afforded. This singular action of yours would have saved you some funds, but I ask, where is your budget for the alternative forgone? ![]() Both links have been provided to you by a 1minute view of just the 1st page of this thread. Even the first link has an excerpt on the same 1st page. https://www.nairaland.com/1516418/opon-imo-aregbesola-vs-laptop#19521074 It is either you go see an eye doctor, or you need special education for the mentally handicapped. Some mothers do have 'em. |

Candyrain:I reckon you have yourself a brother in the profession of guessing. |
Pebcak:Many posters then in 2013 on this thread proved themselves to be fools, now years later, you just proved that the world will never lack fools. It is good you find the cost ridiculous and you even made the effort to look up some features of the tablet, but did you also look up the cost of the project from any reliable source? Do you see any source referenced by the OP? Do you believe every assertion made by any random anonymous Internet ID? The Opon Imo project saved the Osun State government N8.6B, not cost. Apparently, someone suffering from conjunctivitis saw the report and thought that he saw cost instead of saved. He decided to raise some unnecessary dust, by comparing it to another state's project, only to end up disgracing himself and quietly disappeared from the discussion. Mind you, the Opon Imo was a UNICEF supported project, which was commissioned with much fanfare and participation by same UNICEF. Do you think they do not know what N8.6B is, to have identified with such waste if it was so? I repeat, take your time and read till the end of the 1st page. I will be waiting for your response. |
Pebcak:Read the whole of the 1st page, when you realise your hasty assumptions due to the fact that you believe every rubbish typed on the Internet, come back here and type your apology. 2years past, yet hasty conclusions still prevalent. Some things never change. |
teadrake:With Dasuki bank, every customer is a winner. ![]() |
I love Buhari. A part of him we thought was lost in the military uniform has resurfaced. I have always wanted a leader who would not just fight corruption, but will fight it with fury. "Baba go slow" has now turned to cries of "Baba slow down". I have stolen nothing so I fear nothing. |
If it is true, then it is time to ask GEJ what that special assignment was that he tasked Metuh. They don't want him to spill the beans. I certainly have no sympathy for such people. Certainly the story is trash. |
Why do I have the feeling that whoever interviewed Sagay in this report also did not physically meet him? I hope our rookie journalists and bloggers have learnt from the foolish dude who lost his job for such bogus interviews. |
Descartes:Did you bother to read the report at all? Didn't it state that Sahara Reporters detected the forgery and retracted the document from their own site? Where is the fraud on the part of Sahara Reporters? |
Candyrain:Nigerians have always preferred foreign commodities over local ones. Even government officials and political office holders prefer foreign healthcare to the local healthcare they provided for the nation. Their children attend foreign schools instead of Nigerian schools. That political office holders love to buy choice luxury vehicles at exorbitant prices is not new, but now that an Igbo man assembles vehicles locally, those who retain a preference for such foreign vehicles do so because they hate Igbos? You should be truthful and stop guessing like a moro.n. Must every man's decision in Nigeria be weighted against if it is acceptable to the Igbos? Why the unnecessary feeling of self importance that has now taken a pathological dimension? I guess Jude Okoye who bought a new luxury Benz car also hates his fellow Igbo kin who assembles his own vehicle locally? How many vehicles from Innoson has the stae government of the 5 SE states bought so far? Do they hate local production too because the vendor is Igbo? It is time you cure yourself of the victim and persecution complex that ails you. You shall have no tribal sympathies from a fellow victim of the Nigerian situation. |
melvinjames:Atleast even you now know that Fortunato is a criminal even known in the mafia circles of Italy. My memory serves me right, and I am now justified with all the revelations being unearthed. Even people who have not been implicated are already singing songs to implicate themselves before being asked to. You on the other hand remain a bitter troubled soul who is not courageous enough to admit that Buhari is a patriot. You are irritated whenever you hear news about government arresting and prosecuting people for corruption. You would prefer the corrupt benevolence of Jonathan over the staunch uprightness and patriotism of Buhari. But there's nothing you can do about it, so your misery lingers on. |
omenka:Indeed you were wrong. Buhari has already posed a question to this set of anarchist. He asked if they want him to vacate his sit for them. They are the ones who voted for Don Fortunato to continue in office and be signing away our funds to their principals. Those who are culpable are scared of arrest, while those who have lost their benefactors are now hungry, so it is fait accompli that they must all wail. |
melvinjames:If Buhari wants to show his seriousness, let him arrest Jonathan who as "Don Fortunato" reigned as the head of the corruption cabal. I hope you will give applause then? |
melvinjames:Many have already described enemies of Nigeria like you. You're never pleased that the government is fighting corruption. He does A, you would say Buhari did not do B. Then he does B, then you would say he is only deceiving. He spends money on flights, you say he is wasting money, he reduces money spent on independence celebration, yet you will also take offence. He gives the victorious golden eaglets just N20k per player, you complain that it is too small. What exactly do you children of anarchy want? Thankfully, Buhari is a one way traffic. His resolve to tackle corruption remains unshaken. |
Candyrain:It has always been the habit of Igbos to pull statistics out of their ass, so I doubt if that surprises anyone these days. If Igbos constitute 80% of importers and other tribes are to take their own share of what Igbo false statisticians have left as remainder for them, then I reckon that the big industries who do the bulk of importation should make do with just 0.01% of importation? Concerning the complaints being made by these importers, I welcome it if made from purely economic perpectives, but to inject the notion that the policy was designed and implemented just so that Igbos should cry is what I would not condone. Nigeria has economic challenges, and the government of the day would do what it must to surmount those challenges it inherited without regard to tribal sympathies. The government should not always have to stop to ponder on whether the ever crying Igbos would like a policy or not. Policy implementation always have positive and negative consequences, Igbos should learn to stop "tribalising" the demerits. |
arresa:An Ogoni friend once told me that IGBO is I Go Before Others. Very self centred in nature. As long as one Igbo man is affected by a policy, it is wrong and done to persecute them. If no Igbo is affected, then a policy is great regardless of who else feels the heat. |
SA men have an absurd sense of entitlement. |
ShadowCabinetNG:Criminals have family members who have benefited from their thievery. I hear police sirens blaring outside my house, I look out the window to see who the bell tolls for. A criminal like Metuh hears police siren blaring 5 streets away, he quickly addresses a press conference stating unbidden, all sorts of "special assignments" a criminal president tasked him with. I have no skeleton in my cupboard, I have nothing to fear with Buhari's anti-corruption crusade. If given the opportunity, I will bear the lance that will strike off the heads of the guilty. |
ShadowCabinetNG:In a sane society, criminal elements must always live in fear. Criminal minds must never be free to loot and destroy their country. The last administration was a criminal's paradise. We rejected a clueless leadership that had no will to sanitise the nation. Every criminal was happy and at rest with the last regime, but now they can't sleep well anymore. |
Shadow cabinet should be ashamed of the party it represents. Who knows if they also got a share of our arms money. I heard PDP youths recently gave Dokpesi an award for helping to embezzle government funds. What a malaise to the nation they are, but Buhari has got their medicine. |
Persecution complex! If 8 people are affected by a government policy and just 1 of them is Igbo, then it is a deliberate agenda to persecute the Igbos. |
The development of Lagos should have no recourse to tribal sympathies. As long as no law was flouted in executing the demolition, I am in full support. But my greater support goes to any effort that prevents the spring-up of slums, shanties and ghetto markets all over. The Local Governments should be duly orientated in this regard. They play the greatest role in the degradation of Lagos, with their penchant for all manner of illegal structures presented as markets. |
Buhari's battle with corruption was destiny delayed, not denied. As for IBB who truncated that patriotic agenda, his stupendous wealth only reveals that the true motives for his coup was to get rid of the obstacle to his lust for filthy lucre. |
It is time to fix "Mr Fix it" a befitting tiny cell in jail. |
A man laid on the ground in the throes of death but was mistaken for being under the influence of the holy spirit, so he was left on his own for 20mins by those who should care. It took 20mins for common sense to prevail over the bondage of religious mental retardation. Why must religion induce idiocy to an otherwise free, sound, inquisitive and brilliant mind? |
justice2016:Do you have any answer to the question posed below? nedu2000:Also, the Portuguese who in the 16th century had visited the Itshekiris and even had an Itshekiri prince schooled in their university in Portugal, Are they not also European? The Portuguese expedition that named Eko as Lagos in the 15th century, were they not European? Do you know the history of Africa-European relations at all? |
