Let's stop harassing and insulting this guy because of his interpretation. The tweet from Dino has no comma or fullstop. Infact, it can be interpreted in a least 4 different ways. We don't have to insult anyone to correct them.

Career / Re: Nigerian Man Quits His Bank Job For A Life By The Beach Side by streetfabulous: 4:51pm On Oct 31, 2019
Just discover what works for you. Being a banker is not the issue. It's okay to start somewhere and if you are not wired for the job, you can try something else. Some will excel as bankers and others will make it in other fields. Commit your ways to God and keep moving until you find what you enjoy doing, then what you will have is no longer a job but a CALLING. There are people who believe they are born to do banking, they understand the industry, love the chase and pressure, and would not have it any other way. If you can still separate your work from enjoying life then you have a job not a calling/passion but when your work is part of enjoying life then I say congratulations and keep on rocking it.
Whatever the case, keep moving.

She told you this during courtship and you did not take her seriously. Now you wilfully and unilaterally suspended the wedding to force her against her personal convictions. Guy, you can't face marriage with this attitude. That Lady is not the problem, she is sticking to her word which is a good trait. In future, you should take her words seriously and clear any doubt. For now, see if you can fast forward arrangements and then wait patiently.

Business / Re: CBN Fine 12 Banks N499b For Not Giving Out Loan To Customers by streetfabulous: 11:59pm On Oct 03, 2019
It's not a FINE. Every bank has a cash reserve with CBN which is not available for use. CBN by statute reserves a percentage of banks total deposits.
So CBN is saying banks must lend a minimum of 60% of their deposits. If the banks fail to meet this requirement, CBN will take more of the banks deposits to reserves. This will not favour those banks because cash reserves doesn't earn interest for the banks however the banks are still obliged to pay interest on these deposits to customers.
As the banks meet or exceed the criteria, these funds will be released back to them.

Rather than join in saying he is lying, I really would prefer this to be true. That is how it should be. If you are associated with plenty, then you should also have plenty.
Well, Davido didn't tell us the area those houses are located. Somebody with 2 houses in my village is also a house owner. He did not tell us the type of cars or whether they where bought brand new or at give away price. So you see, Davido could really be telling the truth. If you feel he is lying, please take time to investigate and prove it.

"....targeted at making herdsmanship a socio-economic investment, not a socio-cultural issue." I think Gov. Ganduje has made a very fine and sensible submission. If the FG has no ulterior motive for implementing RUGA, I see no reason why they should not adopt his line of reasoning.

Investment / Re: Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation Warns Against Cryptocurrency by streetfabulous: 1:57pm On Jul 26, 2019
Come on NDIC, embrace the inevitable future. They should start thinking of a regulatory framework to secure cryptocurrency transactions rather than 'playing the ostrich' to wish away what some countries have adopted as an emerging global trend. Even professional bodies like ACCA are already thinking of how to deliver reporting and accounting standards on cryptocurrency transactions for financial statements.
The United States are already considering regulations too because people are already transacting and although highly volatile at the moment, it is already tradeable in global financial markets. Nice response from the Speaker Femi.

Business / Re: CBN To Begin Monthly Review Of Banks’ Loan-to-deposit Ratios… Retains Interest R by streetfabulous: 11:45am On Jul 24, 2019
These moves are laudable on paper but we must also engage the banks to find out the reason for their apathy to real sector lending. One of the reasons I believe is the near absence of an enabling economic environment to do business in nigeria especially manufacturing. While we pressure the banks to increase lending, the government must also rise to the occasion and provide the necessary infrastructure that will help businesses thrive.
All the countries listed by the CBN gov with high L/D ratio have solid infrastructure base that helps ease the cost and rigours of doing business. Once this is put in place, confidence in the viability of businesses in nigeria will improve, then banks will be encouraged to provide loans from customer deposits. This will eventually lead to good competition in the lending space among banks and then we will see a drop in lending rates.
CNN must not only push banks but must seek ways to engage the government.

Well, wisdom demands that we choose our response carefully and sometimes there is nothing wrong if we choose not to comment on a matter especially after considering who we are responding to. That you have not seen any evidence doesn't mean it is false. You can ask politely without insult.

Politics / Re: Regina: Canada Government sends message to Igbos living in the country by streetfabulous: 1:36pm On Jul 21, 2019
For me, it is not so much about a message to an ethnic group but it explains the social ingredient, attitude and perspective that make such countries very successful and progressive.
For the fact that some of us here are already focusing on which ethnic group is involved shows why we are lagging behind and uncoordinated as a country.

Timi talks too much and he is making his case bad. Accusing Police of bribery is a wrong move even if the obvious is true. Crying wolf is not a good move, not in this country. Those you think would support will start taking a back flip one after the other in the face of Police intimidation.

I am sure Fatoyinbo has a case to answer. Timi should make his move wisely and quietly too. He won't see you coming. Social media and foolishness
I tell you. The first allegation is yet to be resolved and he is worsening the matter by alleging bribery against the police. I agree with you. It is not a wise move. Social media can publize the matter but he must be ready to defend alone.

Celebrities / Re: 2face Endorsing Ikhide Ikheloa Post Criticizing The Bible And Religion by streetfabulous: 11:23pm On Jul 19, 2019
If the God of the Bible is the God of the whites, then it gives me more reasons in choosing to serve Him. It is not difficult to see that these same whites are miles ahead of us in quality of life and many other positive aspects.
Of what use is the so called african religion with false, bitter and angry gods that did not rescue them from the superior fire power of the whites when they colonized us. Those fake idols were comfortable in our backwardness and lack of civilization.
Those demonic things made people believe that the only people that can succeed are the ones they favoured at random and so those forefathers did not know that they had enough God given creativity and sense in them to progress like the rest of the world.
I choose to serve the God of the Bible, the only true God. No apologies. No regrets.

Nothing much to react about. There are not forcing anybody to attend, and second, if they think their value proposition is worth the fees they charge then good for them. It is left for parents to decide on the best use of their money.

It's good to align with the law and we should continue to encourage such but I think we over flog things that should be normal for all public office holders. Our leaders will not take us seriously if they think they are doing us a favour by obeying the Law. Seyi has done the right thing but most importantly he has done what is normal and expected of him. Let's not get too excited, the law should verify his declaration and ensure that other public servants follow suit.

This matter of whether he had an affair or not is a distraction, a smoke screen. A person was labelled a rapist and invariably a criminal (becos' rape is a crime).
Social media jungle justice was meted on this man, his reputation was viciously marred. The allegation had the potential of destroying in seconds his ties with family and friends including business relationships established through years of sacrifice and hard work.
I don't know him personally but we must use this whole episode to establish 2 things.
First, rape is evil, unacceptable and must be met with the full force of law.
Second, of EQUAL IMPORTANCE, we must ensure that nobody should be made to suffer badly like this guy and many others on the altar of mere and unsubstantiated allegations. We must resist the temptation of jumping to conclusions and the blood thirst for jungle justice, else, we will enthrone anarchy and this trend will consume us all irrespective of who you are supporting. My 2 cents.

Mods, I think this topic is front page material like all other topics on this issue.

Most people especially guys don't understand that a dangerous trend is being set if we allow this public verdict before/without investigation and trial. This could mean that it only takes a well targeted and publicized accusation to destroy years of hard work, reputation and success even if the accusation is false. A billion similar stories about the same person justifies/proves nothing .Let's do the right thing. Let the parties prove their case in a competent court of law or forever spare us all these infantile social media side talks that is setting the precedence for anarchy. I STAND WITH GOD.

This man hasn't been proven guilty and you don't know if he is guilty or not yet you want everyone to crucify him. Fools parading themselves as celebrities and trying to appear politically correct. it's pure stupidity to already hang a suspect based on accusations. The accuser must prove her case before you take sides and crucify the accused.
Wtf is wrong with the whole world so because it's man vs woman the man is automatically guilty?
there are too many foolish people in the world right now so Davido, as a man does not know that this can happen to him, any girl can come out tomorrow and say Davido raped me and everyone will crucify him without trying to know if she is lying or not

It's okay. Enjoy the moment but let's remember that with great power comes great responsibility. The way we celebrate Leadership positions show that we perceive leadership as an achieved asset rather than a call to serve people. Until we change this perception, we should not expect much from our leaders.

It's a credit fraud by an insider. The Bank should do an internal investigation and also overhaul their credit control. Apparently the recovery department thought the loan had gone bad and moved to recover it.
