Buhari coming to campaign for Obaseki, is bad market for Obaseki with less than 5 days to election

Buhari's coming to Edo State will further reduce the 41,767 total votes that Godwin Obaseki was supposed to get by another 47%.
Buhari is seen as a disastrous failure by Nigerians, how then does he intend to sell his weak brand to an already disenchanted Edo people.

What is Buhari going to tell Edo people?

Even Oshiomole, Obaseki and Edo State APC avoided campaigning with Buhari's name since the governoship campaign began in July.

Gone were those days when all prostitutes stand on streets soliciting for customers. Now all they do include getting a nice phone, registering on all social networks and trade there consistently. PoliticsPDP Moves Convention To Adokiye Amasiemeka Stadium As Police Seals Shark Stadium by suasmablow(op): 9:49am On Aug 17, 2016
Following the early morning seal-up of the Sharks Stadium, venue of today's repeat national convention of the PDP by security agencies, the convention has now been moved to the Adokiye Amasiemeka
stadium, Omagwa, Rivers State in defiant of the earlier police action.
This was agreed just now after an emergency meeting held at the presidential hotel port harcourt.

The much anticipated national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), scheduled to hold today (Wednesday), may not take place at its venue, as the Sharks Football Club Stadium, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, when the convention is to hold has been sealed off by security agencies.

Feelers had it late Tuesday night that the convention may be a fruitless effort as some factional members within the party had disclosed to the Nigerian Tribune that the security agencies would take over the venue.

The main gate leading to the state Government House, along the Azikwe Road axis, was relative free as at 8:30 am as there was no heavy security presence, though an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) was seen packed closed to the gate.

The same cannot however, be said of Moscow Road/State Secretariat junction leading to the venue of the convention as there was heavy security presence at the axis.

The heavily armed combined team of MOPOL and regular police was seen conducting stop-and-search on motorists, even as they were prevented from accessing the road leading to the convention ground.

Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, there are indications that the PDP leadership was considering the possibility of shifting the national convention to another venue.

A source told Nigerian Tribune that the various caucuses of the party were in a meeting at the state Government House where a decision would taken on where the convention can possibly be held.

In a related development, three of the PDP national chairmanship contestants, Professor Tunde Adeniran, Chief Bode George and Dr Raymond Dokpesi, would be addressing a press conference on developments around the convention.

A source disclosed that the trio were alleging plans by Governor Nyesom Wike and his Ekiti State counterpart, Ayo Fayose, to skew the outcome of the convention in favour of another contestant from the South-West, Jimi Agbaje.

“The essence of the press conference is to let the world know that there is a grand scheme to rig the chairmanship election in the convention in favour of Agbaje”, the source said.

However, Governors Wike and Fayose had denied the allegation, on Tuesday, saying they would not be a party to any attempt to thwart the democratic process.

PoliticsPdp Repeat National Convention: What May Happen Today by suasmablow(op): 6:45am On Aug 17, 2016
That the former ruling party of Nigeria is in shambles is nolonger news even in the international media. What however remains news is the new dimension the crises take each day. Ahead of its repeat national convention today, two federal high courts, one in Abuja, and the other in Portharcourt continued with their separate judgements yesterday. Abuja supported Sheriff that the convention shouldn't hold, barring INEC and other security agencies from coming anywhere close to the venue and threatening severe punishment should its order is disobeyed. The Portharcourt court supported the Makarfi camp insisting that the convention must hold and INEC must monitor it while security agencies provide the necessary security at the event. Today, is certainly a red-letter day in the affairs of the PDP. The party is nolonger the ruling party as they don't control the apparatus of the state again. This means that they can not 'influence' INEC or Security Agencies to be present at their convention which would have added credibility to some extend to the event. The following may happen today: 1.PDP May surprisingly stop the convention from holding and go back to the drawing board to settle her challenges. 2. PDP will continue with her convention as scheduled. 3. INEC may/may not monitor the event 4. Security agencies may/may not withdraw its presence from the event. 5. The event venue may be sealed up by the security agencies. 6.PDP sponsored thugs may invade the venue 7. The event may end in serious disarray with many members becoming aggrieved. 8. Aggrieved members may align with Sheriff to fight those who victimised them and want to hijack the party by the usual impunity. 9. PDP may finally disintegrate with aggrieved members going to form another party. 10.PDP may eventually in a bitter way accept the conditions of Sen.Ali Modu Sheriff. While we expect the unexpected today, it is my desire that it ends well with the party, so that atleast they can play their ideal role of an opposition party.

PoliticsPdp Convention:gov.wike Should Stop Wasting Rivers Money-apc by suasmablow(op): 11:46am On Aug 16, 2016
While the Rivers State chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, is not interested in the sordid and hilarious happenings within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by it’s numerous factions and leaders, the APC is deeply worried that, once again, the coffers of Rivers State will be emptied by the governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike to host a national convention that is bound to be declared a ‘no show’ just like the one the PDP held on Saturday, 21st May, 2016 in Port Harcourt that came to nothing. The APC is further worried that, as a lawyer, Gov. Nyesom Wike and other lawyers in the PDP are the ones shopping for all manner of conflicting court orders regarding their national convention. The sum total of their actions point to unfettered reign of impunity on August 17 and this is familiar territory for Gov. Nyesom Wike and his co-travellers. However, whenever the dust of the convention settles, the likelihood of the convention being declared a nullity looms. However, the utmost concern to the APC is that the Rivers taxpayer is now made to bear the brunt of reviving the dying behemoth called PDP now lying in comatose in hospital and gasping for breath (apologies to former President Obasanjo). Our worry heightens when we consider that PDP medical bills are humongous and Gov. Nyesom Wike has elected himself to offset the bills with the funds of Rivers people running into billions of Naira. Sadly, states like Akwa Ibom, Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River and others have always acted the wise boys because their governors know that their peoples’ money should not be wasted on frivolities of ill-fated jamborees while Gov. Wike of Rivers State believes that it is obligatory for the Rivers taxpayer to bear the brunt of his inordinate lust for power. But sadly, events within and around the PDP are not providing him the expected returns even as he fritters away scarce resources of the State. Signals coming from the PDP camps only point to a number of new denigrating lines one of which is ‘The Profligate Emperor of Port Harcourt who has turned courts in Rivers State into supermarkets where he simply walks in and obtains any court order he desires,’ (apologies to Ali Modu Sheriff). "Nero Fiddled While Rome Burned" The tragedy of it all is that while Gov. Nyesom Wike is busy masturbating his ego as the new PDP strongman set to take commanding control of his party, Rivers State is bleeding. While our governor is playing the PDP most wasteful spending governor, civil servants, RSHA legislative aides, medical workers, teachers and other workers in different sectors in the State are groaning and protesting several months of unpaid salaries and wages. At this moment, 16 passengers kidnapped after their 16-seater commercial bus was hijacked at Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) by gunmen and taken to an unknown destination in the forest are still missing. The gunmen were said to have abducted the Hummer bus and set the vehicle ablaze after taking the passengers hostage into a nearby jungle. Last week, as the governor was boasting how Rivers State was secure at the Guild of Editors conference, 3 mobile policemen and 2 others were being gunned down around Choba axis of Port Harcourt with many abducted by kidnappers. The APC wishes to draw the attention of Gov. Nyesom Wike to the fact that Rivers State is not rich and there is no reason why the governor should give false impression to his party members and other Nigerians to the contrary. National conventions are very expensive business, the costs run into billions of Naira. The governor of Rivers State has the responsibility to provide effective governance for the people with the resources that belong to them and not to fritter billions of Naira belonging to Rivers people on the affairs of his party, the PDP.

PoliticsA Must Read For All Those Who Doubted The Chibok Girls Abduction by suasmablow(op): 8:48am On Aug 15, 2016
Following the kidnap of over two hundred school girls from Chibok community from Borno State, many Nigerians especially members, supporters and sympathisers of the then ruling party, PDP and the former president Goodluck Jonathan have waved off the sad event as one of the top propaganda of the then opposition party in nigeria to discredit the Jonathan government and wrestle power from him.
Despite series of activities and two years after the abduction, some people never still believed yet these young girls continue to suffer in the camp of their abductors.
I saw this post of my very big friend on Facebook and decided to share it here.
He is a pastor, lawyer, broadcaster and motivational speaker.
See below:
"I am one of those who have never believed that
the story of the abducted Chibok girls was fake
and made up. This is a position I have
maintained on all my radio appearances I have
had to discuss the issue and on all my online
posts. Seeing the latest video with some of the
girls with one of them carrying a baby my heart
just got sad with pain. Rather than continue to
say it's all a hoax can we just pray for the rescue
of the girls and other abductees"
Gift Airwaves

Please I think its important that we don't politicise everything in this country.
I still believe that if only President Goodluck Jonathan has taken the abduction news serious and swung into action immediately, the girls would hopefully have been rescued and if the abduction was a sham by the APC, we would have all confirmed it right then.
Let's ensure that this never repeats itself in this country of ours.

"In Nassarawa State, the Igbo Women Association who were hired to the PDP rally in the State held hostage the TAN Coordinator, for not paying them the agreed fee of N4000 Naira. One of the female participants, who complained bitterly, lamented that she locked her shop

To corroborate this finding, there was a protest of PDP youth leaders and elders in Edo State against the Coordinator of the Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Organisation, PASTOR OSAGIE IZE-IYAMU over the alleged diversion of N1.5bn presidential largesse meant for the

HealthHow America Created ‘HIV/AIDS’ To Kill Black People – Thabo Mbeki by suasmablow(op): 6:36pm On Aug 10, 2016
The HIV/AIDS epidemic was first reported by
the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention(CDC) back in 1981. Almost
immediately, rumors began to spread like
wildfire that the deadly virus was concocted to
destroy the Black race. But how could such a
theory develop?
From the time HIV/AIDS hit the mainstream
news, many Blacks believed that it was created
in a laboratory and spread by the CIA with the
goal of killing Blacks. However, round-the-way
Black folk weren’t the only ones to believe in this
conspiracy theory.
Case in point, post-apartheid South African
President Thabo Mbeki once accused the U.S.
government of manufacturing the disease in
their military labs and world-renowned Kenyan
ecologist, Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr.
Wangari Maathai used her international spotlight to give credence to the conspiracy theory about the creation of HIV/AIDS. After accepting her prestigious honor, the first African female Nobel laureate used her acceptance platform to state, that the deadly virus was created as a biological weapon by the west to wipe out Africans:
“AIDS is not a curse from God to Africans or the
Black people. It is a tool to control them
designed by some evil-minded scientists, ”
according to Maathai.
Even passionate preacher Rev. Jeremiah
Wright was rebuked by his former congregant
President Barack Obama for giving sermons in
which he blamed the government for creating a
racist state and “inventing the HIV virus as a
means of genocide against people of color.”
The fact that many Blacks thought that HIV/AIDS
was created to destroy Black people is actually
not so far-fetched. Past sins of the U.S.
government against Blacks have indicated that
our lives were not valued.
Na’im Akbar, a renowned clinical
psychologist who specializes in African-American behavior, told the Washington Post in an interview that was conducted on Blacks and the conspiracy theory surrounding the HIV/AIDS
epidemic, “This is not a bunch of crazy people
running around saying they’re out to get us,”
Akbar said. The belief “comes from the reality of
300 years of slavery and 100 years of post-
slavery exploitation.” He also cited the
Tuskegee syphilis experiment that was the
ultimate betrayal of trust for Blacks against the
U.S. government and was not a conspiracy
theory by a long shot.
The Tuskegee syphilis study began in 1932. The
experiment became a powerful symbol of
racism in medicine and ethical misconduct in
human research and legitimately fostered
government mistrust.
The study enrolled 400 poor Black men (some of the men are pictured right) with syphilis from
Macon County, Ga., in a program that supposedly treated them for “bad blood,” which
was a local catch-all term used to describe
several maladies. For their participation in the
study, the unsuspecting men were given free
exams, free meals, and free burial insurance.
When penicillin became the cure for the
disease in 1947, the medicine was withheld
from the subjects .
The Tuskegee scientists wanted to continue with
their experiment to study how syphilis
progresses, then kills. The experiment lasted
four decades until it was leaked to the media.
By this time, dozens of Blacks had died, with
many wives and children also becoming infected
and succumbing to the devastating effects of the
illness.
It was not until May 16, 1997, under President
Bill Clinton, that a formal apology was issued
to the victims’ survivors, stating that what the
government did to those Black men was shameful, racist, and morally wrong.
As late as 2005, a study was conducted by the
research organization the Rand Corporation
andOregon State University that stated that a
large proportion of African Americans STILL
embraced the notion that AIDS/HIV was engineered for the sole purpose of wiping
them out as a people.
Nearly half of the 500 African Americans
surveyed by the researchers said that HIV is
man-made, more than one-quarter said they
believed that AIDS was produced in a government laboratory, and 12 percent believed
it was created and spread by the CIA. Fifty-three
percent said they believed that a cure for AIDS is
being withheld from the poor. About 16 percent
agreed that AIDS was created by the government to control the Black population.
Lastly, about 15 percent said AIDS is a form of
genocide against Black people.
Though the co-discoverers of HIV, Dr. Robert
Gallo (right) and Dr. Luc Montagnier (pictured
left) don’t agree on its origins, most members of
the scientific community believethe virus
jumped from monkeys to humans some time
during the 1930s.
Whatever the conspiracy theory surrounding
HIV/AIDS, the real facts are that African
Americans are most affected by HIV, according
to the CDC.
In 2009, African Americans comprised 14
percent of the U.S. population but
accounted for 44 percent of all new HIV
infections .
Young Black gay and bisexual men are
especially at risk of HIV infection, and Black
women accounted for 30 percent of the
estimated new HIV infections among all Blacks.
Most (85 percent) Black women with HIV
acquired it through heterosexual sex.
Clearly, HIV/AIDS is real: The virus has hit the
Black community worldwide with a full-
force impact that has shaken us to our very
core. The only way to combat the deadly effects
of the virus is to educate the masses,
understand how risk-reduction behaviors can be
life-saving practices, and get tested!

The candidate of Ali Modu Sheriff-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Edo governorship election, Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, has expressed happiness that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, who is the flag bearer of the Ahmed Makarfi-faction of the party, is indirectly campaigning for him.
He based his position on the court ruling which favoured the Sheriff-led group of the party, restating his preparedness to flag off his campaigns next week, insisting that he remains the authentic candidate of the PDP for the September 10 election in the state and not Ize-Iyamu.

Iduoriyekemwen, however, carpeted the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for committing what he called “a serious blunder last time,” saying: “But I am happy they have no choice now than to give me what belongs to me after the Federal High Court ruling last week which recognised Modu Sheriff as the authentic chairman of the PDP.”

According to him, “Ize-Iyamu has been campaigning for me; that is good after all we are all PDP members. So, I am urging all Edo people to come out on September 10 to vote PDP, with me as the candidate of the party so recognised by law.

“It is clear the Ali Modu Sheriff leadership of the party has remained and recognised by law. There is no place in the PDP constitution for a caretaker committee.”

Iduoriyekemwen explained that the court ruling made it clear that anything arising from the Port Harcourt convention or the Makarfi committee is a nullity. He urged the Edo people to remain resolute in their support for him, promising that he will run an all-inclusive government.

He is a first term senator with no legislative experience at that level. So, how does he intend to pull the magic? Besides, Ekweremandu can't leave that seat without the removal of Saraki. Their positions are intertwined. It will make an interesting view how the whole affair will play out.
What's so strange or difficult about legislative business that a former speaker of a state house of assembly wouldn't know and handle properly?
If Akpabio, a first time theifnator could be made a minority leader, then its over possible for the new IMO senator to replace Ekweremadu.
