I first noticed how intolerable are leaders are in the face of opposition when the Bayelsa Senator, Ben Murray Bruce blocked me on Twitter just for criticising one of his common-sense tweets. And this is a man that has constantly been criticising almost every policy/action of President Buhari and the APC. Recently in the midst of the recent rancour between Senators Dino Melaye and Remi Tinubu, I also noticed that the Kogi-born senator has also blocked me mostly for my criticising him or his master, Sen.Bukola Saraki through my tweets. Sen.Dino Melaye is a man that has not only criticised leaders but succeeded in even pulling some down, yet no man has killed/ harmed him. Why are our leaders so intolerable to opposite opinions? Must we all support them? Must we all be their stooge or perpetual sycophants? I noticed that when you praise them foolishly, they seem to love you and quickly retweet, but when you attack their views, they hurriedly block you. This is really unfortunate.

THE Leadership of the Accord Party in Edo state has warned the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo state, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and the state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Orbih to steer clear from the affairs of the party, saying that Don Pedro Obaseki who has been dealing with them has since been expelled from the party. Addressing journalists yesterday, the state chairman of Accord Party, Dr Samson Isibor, stated that, “whereas Don Pedro Obaseki was expelled as an impostor, impersonation and a political liability, Joseph Omoregbe was kicked out for alleged sabotage. "The party therefore appealed to the people of the state not to be deceived by the antics of the duo who flirt from one party to another as often as possible. “We also want to warn Ize-Iyamu, Dan Orbih and their PDP cohorts to steer clear from our affairs. If they are looking for cheap popularity they have missed their bearings.” Source: www.vanguardngr.com/2016/08/edo-2016disown-pedro-obaseki-accord-party-warns-ize-iyamu/ |

And why was saraki, dogara and lasun, not summoned when they went against the decision of the party at first? Why was dino not summoned even in the presence of a petition from sen.tinubu. APC is not enshrining enough discipline in the party as regards the attitudes of her members. I hope this doesn't tear the party apart. People ride to victory on the party's platform and later behave like independent candidates with total disregard for the decisions and principles of the party. While its necessary that the party reconciles its members and unite the party, the only way Nigerians can be reconciled is a thorough investigation in the padding allegation and prosecution of those found wanting. Meanwhile I think all the implicated principal officers on the grounds of morality should resign. |
The Anglican ArchBishop of the Enugu Province, Most Rev Dr. Emmanuel Chukwuma on Monday urged the President Muhammadu Buhari led government to desist from further plot to remove the Deputy Senate President, Chief Ike Ekweremadu. The All Progressives Congress, APC, led administration had continued to rue the emergence of Ekweremadu. Speaking to journalists on the sideline of the town hall meeting organized by the Federal Ministry of Information in Enugu, Chukwuma also insisted that “Nigerias is negotiable because people are wounded; people are being sidelined and this is what is causing this spate of bombings by Avengers and all these people who are agitators. “The more you make Nigerians to know that they are part of the government and receive the social amenities and care, then there will be no need for us to talk about restructuring. “Restructuring will surely be done because the way things are going, it has to be restructured. South-East is the only zone that has five states. You have to restructure because without restructuring there will be marginalization.” “We need to know that Nigerians are Nigerians; to keep Nigeria as one is a task that must be done, but Nigerians must be carried along without any part being neglected in appointments, in infrastructure, and even when you see how they appoint some South-East people into government, it does not translate to infrastructural development. It does not.” He added that “this town hall meeting is an opening for the Minister to tell the President that we are not happy; we need to be carried along, we need to be recognized. “But we appeal to our brothers, let us be patient and see what will happen and this town hall meeting should not just be a jamboree, it should be studied for implementation and action to take place as soon as possible.” On Ekweremadu, he noted that “What we are saying is that APC should not be afraid of Ekweremadu; Ekweremadu is a very simple developing senator and out of all the senators in the South East, Ekweremadu is the most, I must say, loved, hard-working senator that APC can make use of to develop Nigeria. “We want to also express that it is unfortunate that the governor of Imo State has continued to insult him and we say that this is not right, he should be called to order by the APC because Ekweremadu was not elected by the APC and election in the senate was not done by governors. “So, if a senator is going to survive in the senate, that senator must come to pay homage to the leading senator in the South-East. “The governor of Imo State should tread with caution, if he is an Igbo man, otherwise he is a betrayer. I want to call him to order that if he continues this way, the Igbos will deny him. “Ekweremadu should be left alone to do his work, he has been elected constitutionally as Deputy Senate President and nobody can remove him there. If they do that, it means that this government doesn’t want the Igbos, then you are calling for its secession from Nigeria because that is the high ranking position we have and we are all behind him and he has been performing, and he should be left to perform.” Source: dailypost.ng/2016/08/01/eekweremadus-removal-will-divide-nigeria-archbishop-chukwuma-cautions-buhari/

Some Peoples Democratic Party’s youth operating under the aegis of Youth Forum For Democracy in Osun State have advised a chairmanship aspirant of the party, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, to return the fund allegedly traced to him from the National Security Adviser’s Office to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. The PDP youths in a statement issued by their Secretary Olajide Adam and Public Relations Officer, Mathew Alao, in Osogbo on Monday said Dokpesi was not fit to lead the party at this time. The PDP in Osun State is divided into factions as a result of the last congress of the party in the state and the group berated Dokpesi for visiting Senator Iyiola Omisore and neglecting the Soji Adagunodo led faction of the party. The PDP youths said the party did not need a politician, who was accused of stealing blind the nation’s treasury to lead it if the leaders wanted the people to believe in it. The group said the alleged anti peace comments made by Dokpesi showed that he was not competent for the position of the chairmanship of the party. This is a youth abi? If this is what we are going to see in this new party, then its a big fraud from the beginning and that's why it will make no impact. I was expecting they will bring up someone in his early thirties and not this 'Obasanjo'. I advice the party changes its name, its not late now. |
“In 2008 and 2009 similar incident happened and Gbaramatu was affected. We elders and leaders intervened and we got amnesty,” “Today we hear that federal government is planning, already talking or negotiating with militants and nobody has consulted us. “That will not work. These children are our children and we cannot fold our hands when they are being attacked and pretend not to notice. Chief Edwin Clark Ijaw Leader What if Northern Leaders should come out boldly like this to also support and defend Boko Haram Members and Herdsmen as their children, what will Nigerians say?

mazichika:Ize-Iyamu has no capacity to make oshiomhole jitter. Lalasticlala enlarge this debate Jor Pastor Ize-iyamu is shattered and scattered already |
maestroferddi:Hahahahahahaha, and it pained you then abi? Take heart, pray well this time again before u see this one as FP too Thinking an Ize-Iyamu will win Edo is simply loading your wailing potentials after the polls Get ready to blame or accuse Buhari, INEC, APC,oshiomhole etc after the official announcement of results. For the now, boast on while we kindly watch unfolding events. At first u guys claimed that Obaseki was moving around the world without campaigning at home. Now that he was been campaigning all the nooks and crannies of Edo state, with massive crowd and lots of defectors, you are still giving yourself hope. I hope your name wasn't on the membership register that a PDP decampee brought the oda day? |
WATCHOVER:Let's keep our fingers crossed If INEC doesn't strike out Ize-Iyamu's name from her list, the result of the poll will surely increase your wailings since u hv chosen self-ignorance over where the dire will obviously swing |

AmericanQuarter:Its amazing the way u deceive yourself So u tink Osaro will pay for all the expenses of Obaino and his team? Its like saying Obaseki paid for all the expenses including the security votes of all the APC governors that graced his campaign? |
smellingmenses:INEC only claimed to have obeyed the court and its law. Don't be surprised if INEC on Monday withdraws the name of Pastor Ize-Iyamu in line with this judgement |
When Sen.Ali Modu Sheriff was brought forward by Governors Wike and Fayose among other PDP chieftains as the only man that can help the party win back their lost states, the presidency and reposition the party, I sincerely queried this risky act by the new PDP leaders. But ofcourse my little voice and pen was overshadowed. PDP leaders have chosen Sheriff because they believed he had the money, the connection and knows the secret of the APC and President Buhari, being an inlaw to president Buhari and an ally of the president way back in ANPP. But sooner than we expected, the whole thing backfired mainly because of clashes of interests regarding the party's chairmanship and who flies the flag of the party. These crises have affected the fortunes of the party generally, including its chances in this year's Edo and Ondo Governorship Elections. With series of pending court cases fighting supremacy, both Makarfi and Sheriff went ahead producing separate Governorship candidates for one party. For Sheriff- Mr. Matthew Iduoriyekwemwen For Makarfi-Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu After this, the Makarfi camp almost appeared to have won with INEC recognising her governorship candidate because she monitored her faction's Governorship primaries and relying on a court order from Portharcourt (the home state of Gov.Wike, one of PDP's new breed of leaders). "The commission (INEC) said that it decided to reject , the list based on the fact that it did not monitor the primary that produced the faction’s governorship candidate, Mr. Matthew Iduoriyekwemwen". Late luck smiled on Sheriff when an Abuja court on thursday gave a judgement in his favour as the authentic chairman of the party and nullified all that took place at the botched convention of the party, including the emergence of the Makarfi-led caretaker committee. “Parties have an uncompromising duty to obey court order until it is set aside. The Lagos Division made orders on May 12 and 20, forbidding the PDP from removing the Sheriff-led Caretaker Committee. That order is still subsisting. “Having regard to the order of the court, PDP had no lawful authority to hold the convention that led to the emergence of the Markafi-led Committee. “The convention was unlawfully held and the Caretaker Committee was unlawfully and illegally appointed and could not take any legal decision for the PDP in view of the subsisting order of the Lagos Division of this court. “Consequently, any action taken by the Markafi-led Committee, including the purported mandate for legal representation in this matter is hereby declared illegal. “If the Markafi-led Caretaker Committee, as apostles of impunity, missed their way to the Port Harcourt division of this court, that court could not have conveniently assumed jurisdiction to set aside the earlier decision of the Lagos Division. “I hold that the Port Harcourt division of this court cannot make an order to neutralise the potency of the Lagos Division of this court dated 12 and 20 May“ “Ali Modu Sheriff is the National Chairman of the PDP. Any decision not taken by the Sheriff-led Committee is not binding on the PDP” (including the nomination of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu) ¤ bracketed words mine Justice Okon Abang Federal High Court Abuja Recall that a high court had earlier ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to only recognise candidates endorsed by the Ali Modu Sheriff-led National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party for the governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States. However, the Makarfi-led faction countered it with another strange injunction from portharcourt. With the recent superior judgement (“I hold that the Port Harcourt division of this court cannot make an order to neutralise the potency of the Lagos Division of this court dated 12 and 20 May“) given by Justice Abang, the Makarfi-led faction loses the chance of producing the party's gubernatorial flagbearer. The Sheriff faction also lacks the statutory powers to produce the governorship candidate as INEC never monitored her governorship primaries and Sheriff never abode by the statutory 21 days notice of conducting the governorship primaries. Technically, for now, I think PDP has no governorship flagbearer in Edo State for the Sept.10 governorship race. Follow on twitter: @Princely_Suanu https://mobile.twitter.com/account

AmericanQuarter:Dream on Its allowed But we know that APGA is a branch of PDP And they both will be defeated. Go and check the profile of the Edo APGA candidate. He was the immediate DG of PDP Governors Forum. He will be betrayed by Edo voters same way He desperately betrayed the PDP Most importantly, I think Obaino needs to settle down and prepare for the battle ahead of him next year. APC and PDP have vowed to dislodge him. Wasting money in Edo state will be regrettable when his battle begins |
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a 13-member Governing Council and 10-member Board of Trustees for the cleanup of Ogoniland in Rivers. The Minister of Environment, Mrs Amina Mohammed, announced this in a statement by Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr Bukar Hassan, in Abuja on Saturday. The minister said the structures would ensure inclusiveness, accountability, transparency and sustainability of the exercise. Mohammed acknowledged the concerns raised by stakeholders on the perceived slow pace of the clean up, saying “Nigerians have a right to voice their concerns”, but called for patience. “We have responsibility to deliver. The launch was the first step in a 30-year journey. We continue to make strides toward the implementation. “We ask for patience as we lay solid foundations for the cleanup. The context is complex and stakeholders are diverse. All must be taken along”, Mohammed said. According to her, Buhari remains steadfast in his conviction to see Ogoniland and other parts of the Niger Delta cleaned up. She said the ministry was working with the Ministries of Petroleum Resources, Niger Delta, NDDC and key stakeholders in implementing the UNEP report. The minister said the exercise was a collective responsibility and urged all the Niger Delta communities, especially the Ogonis, to support the remediation and restoration efforts of government. The UN report estimated that the cleanup of Ogoniland could take up to 30 years with the initial remediation taking five years and the restoration another 25 years. President Buhari inaugurated the clean up on June 2 at Bodo in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers. Source: punchng.com/buhari-approves-bot-ogoniland-cleanup/

Name Aso Rock After Gen Aguiyi Ironsi, Ohanaeze Youths Urge Buhari FIFTY years after the first military coup d’état which tragically claimed the life of the then Head of State, Late General Johnson Thomas Aguiyi Ironsi, Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, has called on the Federal Government to immortalise the slain Head of State. Ohanaeze Youths argued that the late Ironsi staked his life for the unity of the country and therefore deserved to be immortalized and given his proper place in the annals of Nigerian history. Ohanaeze Youth Council, in a press statement issued by its National President, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, expressed great regret that 50 years after his tragic death, the Federal Government was yet to immortalise Ironsi “who staked his life to unite Nigeria”. OYC suggested that the Federal Government should “name the nation’s seat of power, Aso Rock after the late Head of State in recognition of his invaluable sacrifices for the unity of Nigeria.” According to the statement, while the masterminds of the heinous act “are still moving around and parading themselves as statesmen, the members of Aguiyi Ironsi's family have continued to wallow in pains and poverty.” OYC therefore enjoined the Federal and as well as the various State Governments to give attention to the welfare of the family to assuage their pains. Meanwhile, the Aguiyi Ironsi family is organizing a memorial service in Umuahia to mark the 50 years anniversary of the tragic death of their father. According to the matriarch of the family and wife of the late General, Lady Victoria Aguiyi Ironsi, a church service will hold today at the Mater Dei Catholic Cathedral, Umuahia, which will be followed by a reception at the family house. Its nolonger news that the Federal High Court in Abuja has sacked Sen.Ahmed Makarki, confirmed Sen.Ali Modu Sheriff as the authentic chairman of the PDP, nullified all previous activities of the Makarfi caretaker committee including the resolutions at the Portharcourt Convention and as well cancelled the rescheduled PDP convention in portharcourt. By the granting of these prayers by Justice Okong Abang, Pastor OSAGIE IZE-IYAMU is nolonger the party's candidate, but Sheriff's Matthew Iduoriyekwemwen. Is anyone still doubting that PDP will definitely lose both the EDO AND ONDO Governorship Election as long as Sheriff is alive? Meanwhile, i dedicate the bravery and sagacity of Sen.Ali Modu Sheriff to the ever swagalicios Oshio Baba

Barrister Prosper Esegbue, former Chairmanship Aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) with his supporters numbering over 1000. The former PDP chieftain, who addressed his supporters during the defection ceremony at Obiaruku, maintained that he decided with his followers to move to APC after realising that PDP had nothing more to offer Nigerians having destroyed the country for 16 years. The legal luminary explained that since the inception of democracy in Nigeria, it has been the same old story from the PDP, whereas, they at the leadership positions have failed to address the plights of their electorate, instead, they continue to fill their pockets with stolen money to the detriment of those they are made to serve. He lamented that even workers salaries had not been paid for one and a half years after, as other social amenities needed by the good people of Delta State were also not forthcoming. He revealed that a reception party has been arranged for him and his overwhelming supporters from Ukwuani at the state capital by the leadership of Delta State APC and at the National level, predicting that better days are ahead for all APC controlled States as well as the national level. Barrister Esegbue called on all Deltans particularly the people of Ukwuani Local Government Area to have faith in APC for total transformation and change to the people, appealed that they should give the government of President Muhammadu Buhari maximum support, and have patience with his government.
