As regards homeschooling......

Our major problem in Nigeria is that our Nigerian educational system is messed up. We are only taught/groomed to be good employees and not thinkers/innovators. The economic situation has further compounded the problem as both parents are required to work to sustain the family, with absolutely no help from the government hence we send off our babies to creches/schools that are usually subpar. Most Nigerian schools are just business centers, only concerned about the revenue generated and not the finishing of pupils.
Unfortunately, most of us are a product of the bad educational system and now we are faced with having to homeschool our children, we are sort of at a loss on what/how to accomplish that.
Ages 0-5 are the foundational years of a child, what happens later depends on the foundation that is laid. At that age range their brain develops more and faster, their brains are like sponges at that time soaking up every and all information that comes their way...that's why it's essential to give them the right information.
Unfortunately our mushroom creche/primary schools decide to teach children things that aren't necessary at that age. From teaching a 2+ child to cram 36 states and capital and half of the time the child is just mumbling rubbish to teaching a 1yr + baby to write 1-10.

The attention span of a 2+/3+ yr old is usually very short so forcing them to sit still and write 1-20 will most likely be a bad experience for you grin.
Im sure you'd say ' but he sits in school why can't he sit at home?' it's most likely because the others kids are sitting and they tend to copycat what they see. But I have been in a class on a school day, they don't always sit still.
So the plan is to see/understand their interests and work around it. Engage them in activities that are fun to do and help them expand their vocabulary by talking to them while at it. E.g if you are in the kitchen you can mention things found in the kitchen...pots, pans, spoons etc and show them. You can make them pour water through a funnel for hand eye coordination.

My 3+ son attends a Montessori School where they teach kids practical life stuff....how to be independent and take care of themselves, how to interact with the physical world etc. Their teaching method includes following the child's interest and working with it for the day. For example, on one of the days I dropped him off when he was much younger, he went straight for the counting balls and that's where they started the days activities from for him. Counting the balls and mentioning the different colors, shape etc. They found out he loves to read and harnessed that part of him. They didn't teach them A-Z alphabet song but A-Z phonic sounds which helped in pronunciation/blending and spelling, now he read better than 6+ kids. They taught him to clean up after himself, take his tray to the kitchen when he's done eating etc.
I still follow that pattern of teaching with him. His current interests are the solar system, continents/oceans and countries of the world. So I got him a cut out solar system diagram and an Atlas. Once he wakes up in the morning, he brings everything out and arranges them on the floor in anticipation of the days work. But I still start out with circle time (Monica J. Sutton on YouTube), solar system songs on YouTube, a game of "show me country" on the atlas, then down to writing (he hates writing) and school work for the week. (His teacher sends me weekly school work).

Research resources that'll help you better equipped to homeschool your child..there're YouTube videos etc. There're also YouTube videos for almost everything! grin

My kid attended a readiness test for his proposed school for September when he'd be 4 and the requirements for the applicant is attached. It can be used as cheat-sheet for what a 3/4yr old should be able to do.

Hello mummies in the house, last year June 2019, after what seemed to be a perfect stress free pregnancy, I suddenly lost my son at 23 weeks due to pre-term labour/ incompetent cervix. We were in utter shock and disbelief.

To God be the glory exactly one year later before the anniversary of my first loss, I was blessed with a BFP, hubby and I are so thankful and elated but also scared and anxious due to this incompetent cervix gist. Please mamas in the house, I need an advise on the questions I should be asking my OB/Gyn, I have an appointment in the next few weeks and want to be prepared. Also please pray for me that I will carry my baby till term and deliver like an Hebrew woman.

Thank you.
Sorry for your loss, hopefully you're getting double for your troubles.
Mention your fears and discuss the option of cerclage (research about it).
You shall carry to term and deliver safely.

Evening dear, thanks for responding. One more question please. I had ex-lap like two weeks ago? Can I take it?
You don't seem to have issues with ovulation...I don't think you should take it. As long as your other tube is clear, just take your regular prenatals or folic acid and you'd be fine.
Baby dust to you.

Evening all, hope we are all doing well. Please @ sugah, what does the fat burner do? Thanks
Good evening.
Fat burner, although a weight loss supplement, contains 333mg(per serving) of Inositol which helps women with PCOS ovulate. It also contains vit b6 which helps fertility.

Good day mamas in the house,
Please if there is anyone that has had a fibroid surgery before, kindly help with the steps taken till conception. It could be diet change you used or medications.
I also have unfinished serrapeptase, I want to know whether I can continue with it because I reject regrowth in Jesus name.
Thank you in anticipation and baby dust to us all.
I became pregnant 1yr 6months after my myomectomy.
Due to the trauma I went through prior to the surgery, the matron of my hospital (she was also in the operating room and saw the over 30pieces of fibroids taken out) advised I don’t wait the usual 6months after surgery to start trying to conceive and also due to fear of them regrowing, I was in a frenzy to get pregnant. I took all sorts of supplements, failed stimulated/monitored cycles, failed IUI cycle etc. then my dh and I decided to go for IVF and I started ‘preparing my body for ivf’ when I conceived.

Do these and by Gods grace you shall testify.

Confirm your tubes are patent (HSG)
....sometimes the surgery might leave a little adhesion on your tubes. I did HSG twice after surgery to completely clear my tubes.

Confirm you are ovulating on your own
....TVS to monitor your cycle and ensure you are ovulating....you can also use ovulation test strips. Once you confirm you ovulate, input your details in your ovulation tracking app(I use FLO). If you aren’t ovulating, a hormonal assay will tell you which hormone is the culprit and treatment can be started. Although in some weird cases (like mine), your hormones will be fine but you wouldn’t ovulate. ..The combo of inositol/vitb6 helped me overcome that.

*Antibiotics Regimen*
...The hospital I contacted for the planned IVF had a policy of testing and treating infections (Especially chlamydia that had no symptoms but was surprisingly quite common) first and allowing you try to conceive naturally for 6months before proceeding for IVF treatment. I became pregnant less than 3 months after DH and I completed the drugs. But this is only if you’ve been trying to conceive for a while...I put it in asterisk cos im not sure how long you’ve been trying

Do a general lifestyle change (Both of you)
.....Eat healthier, stay hydrated, eat more fruits and vegetables, exercise

Take your prenatals (Both of you)
.....I’m assuming your DH’s swimmers are in top shape and you are ovulating, then any his/hers preconception vitamins is ok. Although confirm the folic acid Strength isn’t too high in yours.

RELAX!!!
....I know this is very difficult but believe me, it helps! As long as everything’s ok, relax and bd wether in your fertile window or not. If necessary and you are into stuff like that, get props to spice things up in the bedroom. Bullet wink and tinz solely for your pleasure wink wink..... water based lubes if you have issues with dryness..better at night so you don’t have to get up afterwards etc

I’d update the list if I remember anything else.

@mama sugah. During those times you take the fat burner , do you notice if the rate at which you eat increases? That has been my faith of recent.
Eish! Sorry o. I don’t remember getting hungrier while on it. Both times, I was already on some sort of diet and added the fat burner supplement (and orlistat) when I wasn’t losing weight. The first time I didn’t really lose weight before I became pregnant but the second time I lost 5kg.

When you get the hunger pangs, drink water or eat a fruit...remember any weight loss helps improves the chances of ovulation in women with PCOS
Increase your general water intake and replace a meal with fruits and vegetables and exercise also...

A hearty congratulations to you miraclebaby. I wish you a healthy pregnancy and safe delivery.
I will say the Antibiotics treatment, lifestyle change (eating and exercise), not thinking too much about TTC' played a huge role in your testimony..but God is the ultimate answer but solution comes in different forms for different people.

Most seasoned fertility doctors insist on treating infections first, even when asymptomatic, before starting fertility treatment.

The normal prescription is 1 tab twice daily, that's every twelve hours with milk hence my question.
And vit E once daily.

I want to ask please, cos i m feeling a little bit hurt, though happy for the couple. A couple close to my family just gave birth, and i just added it up that they have intentionally been hiding it. The same thing when my bro in law got pregnant, we didnt hear until they needed money for ICU, and these are pple my husband speak to everyday. Are your friends suppose to be hiding their pregnancies because of your situation?or am i the one making it a big deal.
I think Nigerians generally hide their pregnancies due superstition etc. If I were you, I wouldn't take it to heart.
My BF has 4 kids and doesn't stay in same city as me so it's almost at the point of her delivering she tells me. It doesn't take anything away from our friendship and I don't take offense at all.

Not to worry, you're not in a 'situation', you're just a mommy in waiting.

I have gotten a replacement. Thanks for the help @ sugah. How do I take the drug, I mean the fat burner. Added 165 naira to the 3850 making total of 4015 per one. So the current price of this very brand is 4015 against the former 3500 they sale before.
I think the dollar affected the pricing of most of their items. But I bought the last bottle I got at medplus for 4,800... different shops have different prices.
It says to take 2 caps 3 times daily preferably with food.... although I wasn't eating 3times, I still took the caps even without food. That dosage gives you almost 1000mg of Inositol daily which is great.
I pray it works for you like it did for me.

I have called them now. Was told to bring it along with receipt when coming. Have learnt my lesson with this. The guy that attended to me must have been distracted. He kept saying there is nothing like Vic B6 with fat burner ,that I will have to buy each separately. Much thanks to you ma, for the assistance.
Good they are going to change/refund you.
I used to encounter same issues too in my own pharmacy, they always bring this one first and I insist on the other one. He probably doesn't know the composition. 3850 sounds like you bought it in Alpha pharmacy..if so, the other one isn't in the same place as this one..they kept it in the same shelf as vit b6 and folic acid etc...so you'd have to tell them to check there.

Good morning Mama in the house. Please I want to ask if some has finished her ovulation and is in her two weeks to her next period, is it advisable to still be mating with hubby or should stop? Thanks as I await your responses
Try not to limit 'mating' with your hubby to only during ovulation for child making purposes...it turns the process to a chore and you'd both become stressed.
If you feel the need, grab Oga and let him satisfy you....as long as you are not doing acrobatics, the baby is fine.

Thank you for the advice.I will go for a second opinion and do a HGS scan because I m actually tired of it but most importantly I want to take in asap and have at least two more babies...a boy and a girl by God's grace.
Then to be very honest with you, from personal experience, since the fibroids is already causing heavy bleeds and distorting your Luteal phase go take it out asap. Cause you'd still need some months to heal before you start trying to conceive and it gets a bit more difficult the older we get.
HealthRe: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by sugah: 5:36pm On Jun 10, 2020
UBblessed15

What you need for blood is iron tablets not folic acid.
Submucosal fibroids usually cause heavy bleeds.
Although the size of the fibroid is considered small (less than 5cm) but submucosal uterine myoma might keep you from conceiving as it might distort the uterine lining (which might be the ill defined endometrium comment on the result) but you'd need a HSG to determine if it'd impede pregnancy.

You should seek a second opinion from another doctor and see what they say.

*Im not a proponent of herbal mixtures that claim to shrink fibroids, you don't want to lose a kidney while trying to shrink fibroids*

Good day mamas in the house. This is my first post here I sincerely apologise for the long read. I need your advice,I have been ttc since october 2017 there about when my first clocked 2. About the same time I think in november the same year, I had this heavy discharge with lumps of which I later went for a scan in february 2018 as I was scared as it continued and was told it was fibroid. cry that I should remove it. This is what I didn't want to do as I had my first through CS and I m above 40 but I heard there is a way out as I have read on this thread. I have been having a horror long week period of 8 to 10 days(tired of). I don't even know when my ovulation period is again as my cycle is 24 days. I daily take folic acid and vit b only to help me as there is a lot of blood loss monthly. I have been to the hospital earlier this year 2020 and the guy said the same thing that the problem I have is with the location of the fibroid though my stomach is flat. I'm scared to hear surgery as the only option. Pls help a sister.
First, stop taking folic acid (especially the Nigerian kind that's 5mg), they make fibroids grow.
What's the size and location of the fibroids?
Have you done a HSG to see if they're blocking your tubes?
