Kai! Its 6am and im craving ofe akwu |
beyedew:Thanks dear, iv slowed down on baby clothes for now until Ayomide comes. I have a feeling i have already bought too much ![]() Baby girl clothes are sooooooo cute, I find myself longingly looking at them when Im shopping. Im looking forward to shopping for Ayomide's little sister |
loistee:Yes dear, we both had Myo's before pregnancy. Im meeting with my surgeon this week to schedule a date but my obgyn said they wouldn't do it before 39weeks. |
Alphahandmaiden, mitchyy, zaynie.. I went to visit a friend that put to bed here recently. While the baby is in the hospital, the hospital provides everything you need so all they wore on the baby was a kimono top, diapers, socks, a hat and swaddled him in a blanket. My friend felt the room was too cold and complained to the pediatrician that came to give counseling but the doctor assured us the room temp and baby's get up was ok. I think babies cry when they are hot abi? It might be better to keep them covered up at night but minimal clothing during the day..... Naija is hot mehn. |
Mummytee:Walk ins. It's a departmental store |
enque:Baby wraps can be used in place as long as same principle is followed to safe guard your baby's neck |
NwayinOmugwo:Hian!!! Inukwa!! Do you know her before ni? This is looking like a personal attack ![]() When my plan was to birth in Houston, I got an accommodation for 500dollars a month. My acquaintance got her friend to rent me a room in her house. So yes its possible to get a decent accommodation for that low. My current accommodation is for 800 dollars with private bathroom, full kitchen, wifi, 80inch tv with Netflix, hulu and xbox one and most of all, my freedom! |
feddy27:Thanks dear. Cc simababe |
Thanks ozycy and fedd27...una don settle fight ![]() |
simababe:Uwc. The sales rack of old navy delights me too ![]() Ozycy on 2 conditions 1. You reserve baby Sophie for Ayomide...age is just a number ![]() 2. Sophie is from Anambra state? I have a feeling Ayomide would do like his daddy...i.e if he doesn't bring oyibo girl home ![]() |
simababe:Hope you are enjoying the big apple? I no too like Walmart clothes although the one close to my house no dey sell cloth. Im done buying clothes for now, every other stuff I ordered online. You can check Burlington coat factory if you have one around....Macy's deals are usually very good too. |
Ehen mamas come and rejoice with me, I finally started my shopping ![]() The one that is almost causing fight between DH and I na sleepsuits. Any time I pick up long sleeve coverall he would start shouting ' babe naija is hot oooo, do you want my son to have heat rashes'. Even though iv tried to explain that its only for sleeping especially at night but im thinking, does the baby need to be covered from head to toe? The plan is to always have a mosquito net over his crib and AC regulated to suit his temp. Cc Liftedhands, zaynie, ozycy, feddy27, alphahandmaiden |
Thanks @alphahandmaiden for the tips on car seat and colostrum. I think any mama that wants to invest in car seat( which is supposed to be mandatory if Naija was a sense country), should take time out to read the do's and don'ts. And also baby carriers. It is mandated that a car seat should be rear ward facing until the baby gets to a certain weight (or can carry his/her neck). This is because if you put a child that cannot carry its neck and you step on your brakes, the child can injure itself from that forward movement. Same thing for baby carriers, the child should be facing you until a certain weights/can carry his/her neck) I remember a mama asking about pillows ... the US is kind of big on SIDS( sudden infant death syndrome) and some of the things they preach against are: 1. Shaking the baby either to calm him or out of frustration 2. Pillows and other potential suffocating items in the crib. 3. Co-sleeping with the baby...iv heard people jokingly say they woke up and saw their dh's hand over the baby... that can lead to death of the baby. When I remember more id share. |
Blessedmum:Toh, I'm not alone then. I mostly wash with water and occasionally use olive oil. Id ask and see what the doctor says. |
Pweetymii, been also recently bereaved of my mum, I know exactly how you feel. Be consoled in the knowledge that your mum is resting with God. |
beyedew:Na pregnancy brain cause am ![]() |
sugah:I had to go dig this post up from June 5 2015. It happened 6months after my confession and my ever living God did it for me. He would do it for the rest of us through Christ our lord, Amen. So my score card: 1. I got the confirmation from hospital next to my house and I cried home. 2. Did that through my tears 3. He walked into the house and I said 'Hello daddy', his expression was priceless! 4. Never had morning sickness and I thank God for that. Don't know what I was thinking when I prayed for MS ![]() 5. Had some spotting in my early weeks so doc prescribed No kpekusing till after 1st trimester....im still using torchlight to find the sex life 6. I still never decorate my nursery yet...infact the room is still empty 7. My cravings were anything spicy...so asun, suya and ofada rice 8. I can remember 'hearing my mum dance' when I told her. 9. My LO kicks more to his father's voice than mine, can you imagine the partiality? ![]() 10. 4 more weeks and I get to hold my miracle baby in my arms. .. yea I was initially praying for twins but God gave me what I can handle. May God answer our prayers according to his wishes. Happy Sunday fruitful mamas. |
iomoge2:I know ![]() |
peggygee:@ bolded, you don join mama Jay (enkaydewdrop) and beydew in holy matrimony ![]() I actually plan to ask my doctor that question at my next doctors visit... although mamas here said to clean with olive oil and cotton wool, my matron in Naija said to just clean with water when you are bathing. But considering that I haven't seen any milk or liquid come out of my nipples even with pressing, im a bit worried hence my decision to ask my doctor. |
Iomoge2 and November mamas, abeg make una pity my moniker. Its not fair to wake up to plenty mentions that doesn't concern me. Tenkiu. |
mompurity2:Actually, if you are able to buy a used one directly from someone you know, its not bad.... but considering you are buying two for them twinnies e fit hard. |
melly245:Lol@bolded. When I was in school in one village like that, I was the only black person in my church... little kids sitting behind me used to touch my hair to see what it felt like. |
uglyBetty1:I went sight seeing today with my biggie belle The waddling is not easy!!! But its going to be one of the last times it would be just dh and I, so make we do small babymoon before Ayomide show ![]() Team September mamas, eku waddling ooo |
mompurity2:Thinking about it now, the expiry date ish probably doesn't matter in Nigeria. Here it's one of the things they check at the hospital before they release your child to you...and I guess its because there would be new and improved safety features with newer models hence the 6yr limit law. |
Suzy do you have fibroids? It might explain the pain you were having and your big bump. |
Babythug congrats on the birth of your son. |
mompurity2:Do ensure you check the expiry date on the base of the car seat... usually 6yrs from production date. Make sure the car seat hasn't been in an accident. |
