Please try and read the news again. They all agreed that the Manufacturer will starts with 5% monthly reduction in production from January 2022.

As for the alternative the best alternative is water, which is readily available. It is only in Nigeria that alcohol is extremely cheap, which is road to unhealthy generations. Someone begging for money to eat can easily afford #50 sachet alcohol. The rate of renal failure is at an alarming rate. Alcohol should not be cheaper more than candies nor biscuit. Not an essential material for human survival.
then where is the water? Do you know we drinking chemicals in the name of bottle or pure water.

Politics / Re: Tinubu, Nigeria Is Sinking And Streets Are Full Of Tears- Kperogi by Sunday2021: 10:20pm On Feb 05
nairalanda1:

That is the problem with the article.

Mr Kperoogi, like most Nigerians believes that subsides are essential for our economic growth. Well, we tried subsides for over 40 years, and our economy has not grown as it should. Unless he wants to suddenly label all our past NIgerian leaders, the ones he blasted inclusive, as good leaders.

The problem with the subsidy wasn't even the corruption. It was the fact that we were running out of money to maintain fuel below N200 , talkless of below N100 even. It was getting to a point where our debt servicing was above 90% of our revenue.

But people like Kperoogi, and most Nigerians, including here on this site, are in denial. They want subsidy to be kept, and all they believe is that if we eliminate corruption, it would be ok.

Well, it won't. SO long as fuel consumption, production cost, increase, it means that government would be spending more and more and more money on subsides. TO the point that our debt would eat all our earnings, and grow larger than our earnings. Then the economy collapses.

That is why over the years, there have been partial removal of subsides, including by this admin. The problem is, the whole subsidy thing has discouraged domestic refining. And now we are about to have a domestic refinery...and subsidy has not yet been removed.

NIger, GHana, and many African countries have working refineries and no subsidies.

THe thing is, subsidy has to go. The annoying thing is that supporting subsidy removal means in the mind of Kperogi and most NIgerians that you are a supporter of the corn, or a tinubu supporter. Pardon. I no dey support APC. Or any other big party. But when I hear that our debt was , until this latest partial removal, eating over 90% of our revenue, what else should I support? Subsidies remaining, and a disaster happening? Or a total removal, and at least some hope we survive long enough for some sort of diversification to kick in (I don't trust that this government is even serious about it self).

Supporting subsidy removal does not mean you support tinubu, IMF, OBi, atiku, gej, buhari, obasanjo, IBB, et. It means you support NIgeria not being like Sri Lanka down the road, where we have no money, and are at the mercy of IMF . INfact, we are already there.

Venezuela has subsidsed fuel for over 60 years. See where they are. Dead broke.
I thought Tinubu said being a Nigerian president is his lifetime ambition? Does that mean he knew nothing about Nigeria before contested. Before contesting for a position you have to study and be ready for the challenges you will face with.

are you afraid to arrest them? Accusing people without proper facts is stupidity. We feed and his family, we gave him the best security for him and his family, we gave him power to command all the security agencies, we give him everything, what else do you want? Tinubu is a disaster.

Nigeria is being heavily terrorized by the North and South Easterns and they are the one that comes online to shout

Why must Southern president fear because of this northerners that turn governance into jokes when they get there. No northerner has ever lead this country to a great height to be proud of. They take us back and far from where we are. What is the fear really? We have lost everything already so what are we going to lose really by doing the right thing.
I don't know how old are you but I believe you were already born when Yar'adua was in power. Even Abacha was not as terrible as what is happening now. Tafawa Balewa was an excellent leader as the first prime minister.
Most of the infrastructure you enjoy in the south were built by northerners.
Please don't speak with empty brain next time.

The banned was announced more than two years ago. The manufacturer were well aware of the ban two years ago the last license was issued over two years ago. January 31 2024 was the last valid date of previously issued licenses.

Very good decision
I am not saying the banned is not good, I am saying they should have provided alternative since that two years all these ones would have disappear from the market by now.

I really missed buhari
My fuel was 180 now iam paying 800
Dollar was 500 now it is 2000
Foodstuffs was relatively cheaper now I can't afford a crate of egg.
Spaghetti was 300 now is700.
Indomi pack was 4500 now is 11,500
Sugar of 20k is now 47k
I don't even want to talk about medicine.
The rate at which people die in hospitals because of lack of money to buy drugs is seriously alarming. All this happened under 8 months of this satanic administration.

APC did very well in last weekend's bye-elections. They are still very strong, truth be told. I was even surprised to find out that they hold two senatorial seats each(four in total) in Delta and Edo states that are traditionally PDP strongholds. Tinubu will win a second tenure in 2027 no doubt.

The problem of this government is lack of critical thinking. If you want to stop something that millions of people are using then provide alternative. Without even saying you ban this and that it will gradually face out.
You stop subsidy without alternative
You increase school fees without alternative
You increase prices of foodstuffs without any proper agriculture program
Prices of everything is increase without salary increase

As much as I don't agree with such attacks, you have to understand that almost 9 in every 10 Palestinians already have their family members and loved ones killed by Israeli forces and they will try in every possible way to avenge their deaths.

And this is why some of us have been calling for a dialogue, if you wipe out my entire family, I will fight you back with whatever I have.

The security and peace in Israel today and tomorrow is tied to Palestinian struggle.

Nobody should call me a terrorist sympathizer, I'm just a sane, compassionate and decent human being that abhors violence against any tribe, race and creed.

This is false. This is Africa and there are civil servants whose families abroad help bring and train their children abroad. I am a witness to this. What she should say is that Nigerians are mostly corrupt just as we saw with INEC and the judiciary in the presidential elections. Civil servants, nurses, doctors, lectureres are not exempted. It's a very corrupt country and shouldn't even be a country.

It is you who is a thief.
Come to Benin and see how most families have relocated all their children abroad and you are here talking nonsense.

People go as far as selling famy I herritances to send children abroad because they know that once they get there, within few years, they will move another member of the family. That is how the entire family will move.

There are others who took the risk of going through Libya to get to Europe.

As I am talking to you now, I and my siblings have put up our properties up for sale to sponsor another person to UK before the end of the first half of this year. By the time we all move, one idiot will call herself a thief.
go back and read again. Are you a civil servant? Do you have houses in Abuja? Do you have children schooling abroad? How much is your salary?
