Romance / Re: Really Frustrated My Wife Keeps Denying Me Sex by superlightning: 7:45am On Nov 20, 2020
some50686:
Hi Everyone, i got married in 2018, We are both working class.. I am in my 34 while my wife is in her late 28. My wife has been denying me sex, we rarely have sex. sometimes we can go for over a month without sex. Whenever i ask for sex, she just complains she is tired and that is it. Sometimes i would plead and try yet she wont accept. What pains me the most is the way she react when i try to approach her. She would yell and begin to shout what nonsense is this, who is this now? To the point i only could initiate sex, sat morning and even with that she still refuses. Before we got married I sat her down and told her about this issue, that i hear about it from my married friends and dont want to experience such, she assured me and said our wont be like that but our is now worse. I am not sure we had sex more than 12 times the whole of last year.

The first time i sat her down, i asked her why she is doing all this to me, she complained i dont show her enough love, that she wants me to do more house chores, and also take her to eat outside and watch movies. I told her i will try. Although i knw am not the most romantic guy around, but i try the little ways I can, we sometimes go to see the movies. I do laundry on sat, help with ironing all the clothes she would wear during the week and cook a very few time. I ensured we got a maid so she wont be pressure by house chores. I also gave her my only car so she doesnt need to enter public transport, buy food from great eateries and even icecreams, almost every other week. But she has not changed, the last major fight we had was about 3months ago and it was about sex cause she denied me for no reason. Sex has always been the source of our quarrel. She was even telling me to go meet the maid since i am always so nice to the maid one time i tried to have sex. I really feel pained, like she is taking me for a ride because of my cool and easy going attitude. I have never raised my hand on my wife or even used abusive words. I even try to ask her how work is and gist with her to increase our bonding, yet all to no avail. I am someone who doesnt like going out to share and i believe the issue can only be fixed by the both of us, but this one is begining to drag for too long and from the look of things i am the one at the loosing end. I will go to my inlaws place and smile, nobody know how mean their daughter is to me, i too feel very ashamed raising the matter with my father inlaw. Last week i tried to initiate sex the same rejection, she is tired. I felt very frustrated and am now seriously considering cheating even though i am a Christian. Cheating is not right, cause it is expensive and emotionally draining, exposes one to STDs and it is against my Christian faith but what can i do? Sometime i have had to masturbate to suppress my sexual urge, but for how long can one continue to do this? I feel very ashamed coming to nairaland but what can i do. But dont get me wrong o, my wife has her good sides but this sex issue is really beginning to hurt and it does nt look like she would change anytime soon from the way she has been behaving.

Even if she doesnt find me attractive, should that be enough reason to continue to deny me sex after 3 months. Right now we are not speaking at the moment, cause i am mad with her. The next day after all she did, she come to greet me in the morning and acts like nothing happen. This is how she does and most time i always over look it, but the one from last week really hurt the most. I feel I have made a mistake marrying her. She also doesn't really care about my eating, most time she is only bothered about what our son and the maid will eat. I always have to go to the kitchen and look for what to eat, sometimes i get food outside. Even though i always drop food money. since we started quarrelling she has stopped cooking for me. Just very frustrated.

To the experienced married men in the house, what can i do the address this issue. I am considering collecting my car, not that it would be of any use to me , just to frustrate her

I'm not like others who will judge you if you find sex elsewhere because of being sex starved. This doesn't mean I want you to have extramarital sex. But please, do what works for you.

I'm not you but if I were you, she can NEVER deny me to that extent. Because she would have known right from time that I have high sex libido and it's my emotional food. I can only consider if she is undergoing some birth trauma or sickness.

The CNN report on Lekki toll gate- My response by OA.

I have spent time to read the CNN report and watch the CNN video on the Lekki events of Oct 20.
It is my intention to provide an objective response. I will be speaking as a Patriotic Nigerian.

@ishakaa @ApanpaOlasumbo

First, we must admit that whether the CNN report is truthful or falsehood, it has the potential to inflict devastating damage on image, goodwill of our military and our country Nigeria. Many people worldwide will believe the CNN story simply because it is from CNN. Brandname!

My findings and analysis below. My objective again, is to establish truth and separate fact from fiction.

1. CNN report vs BBC report.

The CNN report is at complete variance with the BBC report.
BBC had a reporter on ground who witnessed the events and reported that soldiers fired shots in the air. CNN did not have reporters on ground but reported shots were fired into the crowd.

Who do we believe?

The BBC reporter that was present and witnessed the events or CNN reporters that were thousands of kilometers away and only relied on third party information from the protesters.
The choice is yours to make.
We need to find the truth so Nigeria can heal!

2. Blank vs Live Ammunition.
Nigerian Army claimed and maintained they fired blank bullets into the air.
CNN has categorically stated that the bullet casings in possession of CNN are from live ammunition. The following questions therefore begs for answers;

a. CNN needs to prove that the live shell casings they have examined were expended and fired at the toll gate by the Nigerian Army. In other words, are the CNN live bullets from Lekki toll gate and were they fired by Nigerian Army.

The issue at stake is a very serious one and we need to establish truth beyond all reasonable doubt. The character, the unity, the integrity of the world’s most populous black nation is at stake. We need facts, evidence beyond all reasonable doubts.
Please .@cnni take this challenge and provide answers to above question

3. Testimony of Elisha on Victor Sunday Ibanga death.
CNN provided graphic images of the death of Victor and provided video interview of Sunday, claimed to be Victor’s brother.
In the interview, Sunday said “Someone picked my brother’s phone and called me”
It is fair to ask how did a stranger that picked the phone know you are his brother of the deceased. Most phones have an average of over 100 contacts in the directory. How did this stranger identify the right number to call. We need answers.

Furthermore, CNN will need to prove that the graphic image of Victor Ibanga was taken at the toll gate on Oct 20. There is no background structure or cultural images to place this image at Lekki toll gate. Why is the picture devoid of background images?

Finally on the subject of Elisha and Victor, CNN needs to tell us why Elisha has not presented himself at the judicial panel to report the death of his brother, Victor. There are many lawyers in Nigeria, including Femi Falana, SAN willing to represent Ibanga family pro bono at the tribunal.

The right and logical course of action is for the Ibanga family to head to the judicial panel, and not CNN! Except the objective is that of mischief.
In addition, why did the Ibanga family not take up the challenge of N1.3 million reward for verifiable picture of death Lekki. Patriotic Nigerians including myself under leadership of @BayoAdedosu donated this money in an attempt to establish the truth. No one came forward.

4. Shots fired into the Crowd.
CNN categorically stated that shots were fired into the crowd from AK47 military rifles.
Firing shots directly into the crowd of protesters, it is expected that a stampede and mass deaths will be the outcome. Why was there no stampede and mass deaths. I do not believe that the protesters are super human beings.
The sound of gun shots is enough to make most people have wet pants.
Why was there no stampede if shots were fired into the crowd? Why did the BBC reporter say shots were fired into the air only?

We must separate fact from fiction in order that Nigeria can heal. CNN claimed they interviewed over 100 protesters and family members. Why did CNN not encourage these people to present themselves at the judicial panel to provide needed testimony under oath to establish the truth
CNN claimed the military declined their interview. But CNN has access to all the interviews, reports and presentations by the military.
My question for CNN is that “Did CNN make effort to reach or interview the Governor of Lagos State to gather facts and interrogate the statement by the Governor, not the military, that there were no blood stains seen at the scene of the incident when he visited lekki toll gate hours later. The Gov admitted one death due to blunt force truama and not bullet shots.

In the spirit of fairness and objectivity, why did CNN not make effort to interview the Governor, who is a key player and credible witness in this unfortunate incident.
My aim is not to speak for the Government or the military as i am not qualified or authorized to do so. I am also thousands of miles away from Nigeria, just like CNN. But i believe we can all make informed judgment and analysis by separating fact from fiction.
In conclusion, do we really need CNN to tell us what happened in Nigeria or what we did to ourselves. We must free ourselves from colonial mentality.
At this difficult moment, we should remember the quote of one of our founding fathers

“I am convinced, and I want you also to be convinced, that the future of this vast country must depend, in the main, on the efforts of OURSELVES to help OURSELVES. This we cannot do if we do not work together in Unity
- Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa.

Ourselves not CNN!
Ourselves not BBC!
Ourselves not America

Finally, i will refer @cnni to the image below presented by the protesters which turned out to be a clip from a movie and the deceased has since resurrected. Will Victor Ibanga resurrect tomorrow. Only time will tell...
To be continued

1. Have you read the news lately? in case you havent, on the 23rd of this month, the british parliament will be debating on what sanctions to give some culprits of this lekki shootings.

2. If you don't understand forensic investigation, then shut up. You simply made mess of yourself or perhaps you didn't digest the CNN video properly. You watched it with an already biased mind.

3and4. It's unfortunate that you cherry pick incidences, have you been following the court panel here in Lagos deliberating the matter? It's been confirmed that people died in that shooting.

How much did APC pay you or your parents to be willfully blinded by truth? It's unfortunate.

Politics / Re: Meet 4 Nigerian Space Scientists Breaking Boundaries by superlightning: 12:39am On Nov 15, 2020
Barondenigeria:
While economic realities in Nigeria might be harsh, with public sector corruption severely denting the country’s image, Nigerians have proved their metal in different fields and profession, excelling mostly outside the boundaries of Nigeria. Let’s look at four Nigerian space scientists breaking boundaries globally.

Maggie Aderin-Pocock

Margaret Ebunoluwa Aderin-Pocock MBE (née Aderin; born 9 March 1968) is a British Nigerian space scientist and science educator. She is an honorary research associate of University College London’s Department of Physics and Astronomy. Since February 2014, she has co-presented the long-running astronomy television programme The Sky at Night with Chris Lintott. In 2020 she was awarded the Institute of Physics William Thomson, Lord Kelvin Medal and Prize for her public engagement in physics.

Margaret Ebunoluwa Aderin Aderin was born in London on 9 March 1968 to Nigerian parents, Caroline Philips and Justus Adebayo Aderin, and was raised in Camden, London. Her middle name Ebunoluwa stems from the Yoruba words, “Ebun” meaning “gift” and Oluwa meaning “God”, which is also a variant form of the word “Oluwabunmi” or “Olubunmi”, meaning “gift of God” in Yoruba.

Maggie studied at Imperial College London, graduated with a BSc in physics in 1990, and completed her PhD in mechanical engineering under the supervision of Hugh Spikes in 1994.

Aderin-Pocock has worked on many projects in private industry, academia, and in government. From 1996 to 1999 she worked at the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency, a branch of the UK Ministry of Defence. Initially, she worked as a systems scientist on aircraft missile warning systems, and from 1997 to 1999 she was a project manager developing hand-held instruments to detect landmines.

She was the lead scientist at Astrium, where she managed observation instruments on a satellite, measuring wind speeds to help the investigation of climate change. She is working on and managing the observation instruments for the Aeolus satellite, which will measure wind speeds to help the investigation of climate change.

Aderin-Pocock is committed to inspiring new generations of astronauts, engineers, and scientists.

Rabia Salihu Sa’id

Rabia Salihu Sa’id is a Nigerian physicist and professor of atmospheric and space-weather physics at the Bayero University Kano. She conducts research in atmospheric and space weather physics, particle physics, and electronics. Sa’id is an advocate and mentor for young women in science with the Visiola Foundation and Peace Corps. She is also co-founder of Nigeria’s Association of Women Physicists and a facilitator for the British Council’s Active Citizens’ Programme.

Sa’id began her university education at the age of 29 and ran a nursery school to pay for her education. She holds a Bachelor of Science, Masters of Science and Ph.D degrees in Physics from Bayero University Kano. In 2002, on the International Fellowships Program (IFP) of the Ford Foundation, she studied for an M.Sc degree in Environment and Development from the University of Reading, United Kingdom.

In 2015 she was a recipient of one of the five Elsevier Foundation Awards for Women Scientists in the Developing World. Presented in partnership with the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), the awards that year were for the physics and mathematics fields, with Sa’id’s award in the field of atmospheric physics.

In August 2015, Sa’id was featured in the BBC’s annual 100 Women series, highlighting her efforts to promote science education in Nigeria.

Hakeem Oluseyi

As a child, Hakeem Oluseyi moved between rough neighborhoods in the American South, until finally settling in a poor community in rural Mississippi at the age of 13.

Hakeem’s interest in physics continued into high school, where he created a computer program that did relativity calculations. When his program won first prize in physics at the state science fair, judges told him to become a physicist. Since Hakeem didn’t really know what physicists did, he dismissed the idea and chose to enlist in the Navy. But not long after, Hakeem decided to major in physics at Tougaloo College, a small historically black college in Mississippi.

Hakeem did research for the first time at a summer program at the University of Georgia. He was pleasantly surprised by the freedom and responsibility he was given and found that he fit well into the research community, even though he was one of only a few African Americans.

After finishing up with school, Hakeem worked at one of Silicon Valley’s most successful companies and did research on manufacturing computer chips. This work earned him 8 U.S. patents and 4 E.U. patents. Hakeem’s inventions can be found in the computer chips you use every day.

Hakeem, however, longed for the big ideas of astronomy and astrophysics, and returned to astrophysics research. He worked with the 2011 Nobel Prize winning Supernova Cosmology Project, developing detectors for a planned space-based telescope that will investigate the nature of the dark energy that is accelerating the universe’s expansion.

Today, he is a member of the team developing the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST), which is America’s top priority observatory. He has worked on developing the LSST’s camera and is developing programs for analyzing the data it will collect.

In addition to astrophysics, Hakeem also has a passion for communicating science to the public.
He is a professor at the Florida Institute of Technology, and a frequent contributor to the Discovery Channel and National Geographic. He has given multiple TED talks and is regularly invited to speak at science forums all around the world. For his science outreach work, he was selected as a 2012 TED Global Fellow.

In 2002, through an organization called Cosmos Education, Hakeem began visiting sub-Saharan African schools to inspire young students with science demonstrations.

Babatunde Akinsanmi

Akinsanmi led a research team which discovered (for the first time) that rings exist around exoplanets in our Solar system.

An international team of researchers, led by Babatunde Akinsanmi (PhD student at the Institute of Astrophysics and Space Sciences (IA) and the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto) found statistical evidence that indicates that the exoplanet HIP 41378 f is similar to Uranus with a ring system around it, inclined by about 25 degrees, and extending from 1.05 to 2.59 times the diameter of the planet.

“These ‘cotton candy’ planets are a rare class of exoplanets, with densities much lower than that of the giant planets in the Solar System. It is difficult to explain these very low densities and that is why we decided to investigate what was happening ”. “What we found was that the presence of rings around this planet can explain the observed low density. The rings make the planet’s diameter look much larger when it passes in front of the star (during transit), Babatunde Akinsanmi explained.

Babatunde Akinsanmi obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the Federal University of Technology Akure in 2010. He was awarded the M.Sc. in Astronomy by the University of Porto in 2017 and started his PhD in Astronomy at the same university in collaboration with the Institute of Astronomy in Porto (IA).

His main research interest is in the field of exoplanets involving the search and characterisation of exoplanets using the transit and radial velocity methods. He specifically works on detecting novel exoplanetary features such as rings, tidal deformation and rotation-induced oblateness in exoplanets.

Babatunde Akinsanmi is a scientific officer at the Nigerian National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA).

Next the same 100+ countries will foist NOI on Nigerians as "female, competent, and "presto" a marginalised "SEasterner". Who better ticks all the boxes to lead Nigeria ? Similar psyop they did for Shirleaf-Johnson on Liberia who left a legacy of economic servitude and ruin in her wake.

I am informed of one example of NOI's capacity for self publicity and aggrandisement. She claimed her mother was kidnapped by "oil marketers" bc she wanted to stop subsidy. The Western press hailed her "courage" in confronting the continuation of the endemic corruption in the oil sector in her country. The truth was rather more prosaic ; her economic policies as Finance Minister contributed to making kidnapping more lucrative, esp in the SE.

I can personally attest to her annoyance that the media interest generated by the WEF 2014 she had organised in Abuja was hijacked by the Chibok Affair. And her annoyance was not out of pity for the girls.

Let her get to the position on her capacity alone; She only remembers Nigeria when it benefits her career personally and inflates her CV.
I'm personally ambivalent to her success. Nigeria is not in any position to take advantage of her elevation in any case. The WTO has been trashed by the Trump admin in line with it's continued assault on multilateral institutions generally. The WHO, UNICEF, WTO, UN, EU, NATO, ICC, etc. I'm doubtful NOI can reverse the trend. She looks nothing like Nicky Haley or Hope Hicks.

I'd imagine that deep strategic reasons will favour the SK candidate in so far as Moon will try to reel in the NK despot so Trump and Co and achieve a Nobel. Who knows in this topsy-turvy 2020.

Now that the police could not effectively police the lootings by hoodlums because of the directive from above not to shoot, don't you see how their absence breeds anarchy and lawlessness

Which would you rather prefer: A society where the police is very brutal to offenders or a society where everyone polices their own affairs? You guys are so dumb, honestly.

Did we tell them not to stop the lawlessness? Your logic is silly.

They extort, harass, rape, obstruct justice, terrorize with their uniform and suddenly they want to present themselves as BEING PERSECUTED? Even you holding brief for them have a serious problem

Ndigbo Tinubu is not our problem!

We pride our tribe as the most clever, astute and intelligent in Nigeria. But sadly, our deeds often prove otherwise. Why are we so easily susceptible to brainwashing? Could it be that we actually know the truth but are always willing to go
with false narratives?

How on earth did we arrive at the embarrassing fact that Tinubu is the cause of our problems?

Prior to writing this, I asked a few of my people why they hated the former Lagos governor to the point of wanting him and his family murdered in the most
violent fashion, their responses were same.

“Tinubu looted Lagos to pieces.”

Frankly, I’m still looking for the correlation between what they accused Tinubu of and the problems we are facing as Ndigbo.

To start with, if the APC leader looted Lagos to pieces, how exactly does
that stop the developing of the South East? Unless, of course, Lagos state budget is linked to building our region.

Again, Lagos state net worth in US dollars is USD 33.679m and the net worth of the 5 Southeastern states is USD 36.791m, if Tinubu looted his state to the point
that they’re now reeling in poverty, how come Lagos state is almost richer than all the five eastern states combined?

Ask yourselves these questions in honesty, is Tinubu the reason why Aba is a glorified dustbin? Is he the reason why Owerri roads are impassable?

Is he the reason Omo and Umumbo and Achalla and Urum are all killing each other in communal clashes? Is Tinubu the reason why the majority of Igbos are not living in the South East?

Let’s direct our rage to Igbo leaders who have been looting and impoverishing us for decades

The evil carnage and chaotic situation that occurred through out the southwest and other Yoruba region is not the fault of anyone except the Yorubas, it was carried out by no-one except Yoruba, it is the Yoruba fault and they should take responsibility for it. This is the time to lick our wound and come back stronger, re-strategise and repair our cities.

Messages have been passed around among Yoruba whatApp groups saying non-indigenes and enemy of Yoruba leaders are the cause of havoc and burning in whole of south west coupled with the video of Yoruba extremist Adeyinka Grandson, which beg for this topic.

But there is a saying "There is no smoke without fire" in as much I don't want southern unity with non Yorubas, but there is no way such can happen because every Nigerians have the right to be anywhere they like, igbos can be in Lagos, Fulani can be anywhere in East, it is every Nigerian fundamental right.

Igbos always ask these questions, why don't Yoruba always attack Hausa?
1. Hausa have been in Yoruba land centuries before the igbos
2. What is worse than physical violence to Yoruba man is verbal violence and disregard for his culture and traditions
3. Hausa man dont attack unless you attack them, most Hausa/Yoruba fight is caused by a Yoruba man trying to cheat him.
4. Hausa don't call Yoruba land no man's land

With these factors, I will say Hausa are good neighbours of Yoruba and we share more in common with them than any non Yorubas.

This is wake up call to all Yorubas, what happened this month should serve as lesson to us, we have been played multiple times, from Alimi/Afonja, Awolowo/Akintola and now Tinubu, the same pattern happening in our eyes, this is not the time to blame anyone, it our FAULT and we should take the full RESPONSIBILITY. We should have learned from how the non - Yoruba pushed the Yorubas states almost to state of no return, we were lucky this time around, we must never let it happen again, we must protect our leaders at all cost, whether they are bad or not, we are not the messiah of Nigeria non the sophisticated big thinkers, we are Yorubas and the interest of our people should come first.

Why do you think they were unable to protest in Abuja? Is Abuja not where Buhari stays? Who commands the soldiers? Is it Yoruba leaders? So why the heck did they not move to Abuja? The only answer to this question is the knowledge of Yorubas as accommodator and champion of Nigeria cause, that's the answer right there.

The era of accommodation and championing of Nigeria cause is over and should be discouraged throughout Yoruba states, no tribe is more Nigerian than the other, let Yoruba put their tribesman first, their leaders first, this time YORUBA ARE AT THE CORRIDOR OF POWER AND STILL HAVE CHANCE TO RULE FOR THE NEXT 8 YEARS! we should think! I don't blame other tribes for demonising our leaders, everyone is trying to survive in Nigeria, but the fault is on the Yoruba demonising their leaders while other tribes protect their leaders like EGG.

This for everyone who care to listen, afefe ti fe, ati ri furo adire. We know who hate us and we know who want to harm our leaders because they cant fathom the idea how powerful they are and how successful they are. Yorubas! we should stop talking about other tribes leaders, it is not our concern unless he holds a public office at national level, the NON-YORUBAS should repay the favour by not talking of our leaders, even celebrities that are not Yorubas or by extension of South West should stay clear of South West politics. Politics / Re: Nigeria Set To Report Kanu To UK Govt For Inciting Violence by superlightning: 1:00pm On Oct 24, 2020
Masterclass32:
The Nigerian government is set to report Nnamdi Kanu, to the UK over a viral audio clip, made by the leader of the proscribed separatist group, IPOB.

Nigeria is blaming the audio for the violence, looting and killings in Lagos and other Southern state, amid the #EndSARS protests.

Kanu, leader of Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB), lives in the UK.

According to a report by Daily Trust, former Nigerian leaders at an emergency virtual meeting with President Buhari described the outlawed IPOB as a ‘biggest threat’.

They warned that such an inciting audio trip as released by Nnamdi Kanu should not be tolerated.

In the audio circulated on Tuesday, Kanu called on protesters to ambush and kill all governors, soldiers, policemen and destroy properties belonging to the government and Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Although Kanu has since denied the audio, a top government source told Daily Trust on Saturday that an independent verification has been conducted and the result showed that the voice was Kanu’s.

Kanu in a statement said he did not order the attack and destruction of economic assets of the Yoruba people in Lagos State.

He insisted that the enemies of Igbo-Yoruba unity were spreading false information to cause disaffection and war between the two major ethnic groups.

But the source who spoke in confidence, said the verification of the audio has been passed on to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which in turn is set to petition the UK government over the matter.

Politicians have no shame.

Where are the bandits and killer herdsmen? What about the hoodlums themselves? I'm ashamed of the type of politicians we have in this country.
