Remijuice: My days of hunger is coming to an end soon. |
kalufelix: By their neighbors? ![]() |
NaijaPrince18: Yes, I understand but I don't really understand why I'm surrounded by lightskinned Igbos. Here, almost anybody would tell you that there are a lot of lightskinned Igbos — they've successfully associated light skin with Igbos. |
okeke6969: Why and how should I leave Igbo alone? Are you gonna take away my Igbo mother from me? ![]() |
1Sharon: When was that? Oh boy ![]() |
MrBrownJay1: Lord, I'm not supposed to laugh but this got me 😭... |
SEO master strategist . |
1Sharon: I think I saw you on that thread about how Igbos looked mixed and I remember debunking y'all but right now, it's really getting weird... Yes, there are millions of darkskinned Igbos but why is this lightskin Gene scattered all over Igboland? Nowadays, that "little Gene" is literally overpowering the dark skin gene in Igboland. I actually grew up believing there was no darkskinned Igbo person and even if I saw one, they looked different from the other ethnicities — probably because of that stereotype in my head. That's why it was easy to accept Mr. Ibu and other darkskinned actors as Igbos because they just looked different from other ethnicities in my eyes. The human mind is crazy. |
Dream25: What exactly are you talking about and how does a normal person talk? |
BigDickProblems: Nah, it sounds cringy. |
Omoawoke: How did Asians come to that part of the world? You just reminded of this girl I used to know, she looked 100% Chinese but very lightskinned. She has little eyes like Chinese people, but even more lightskinned than that actress Daniella. Why are these lightskin Gene spread across every place that speaks igboid language or Igbo? This is not just intermarriages or rape. |
Skooltynz: One day, I'm going to take a DNA test... |
Skooltynz: It makes sense now, maybe those Portuguese traders but I don't really believe this is just the reason. How can the intermarriages last that long but nobody documented them? |
Skooltynz: And by the way, Igboland was one of the last place in Africa to be penerated by Europeans as it was known as the "white man's grave" due to the local diseases like malaria. The colonial rulers you're talking about came in the late 1800s, so how's this theory possible? |
Skooltynz: There are lightskinned people in other ethnicities like Igala, in fact, every ethincity has lightskinned people. I'm talking about Igbos because I've got Igbo blood in me and from what I heard my grandmother was so lightskinned she had colored eyes but her parents were full Africans. Her husband was darkskinned and my mother is darkskinned but the gene is still here, genetics is crazy! |
Has there been any 'genetic makeup research' on the Igbo people? |
I didn't believe I'd be creating this type of thread but I'm genuinely curious about what others think. A nairalander once created a thread similar to this but because of how he kept insinuating that anyone lightskinned was mixed with somewhere in the family tree, I didn't take him serious. So, I just came across this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/8025124/nollywood-child-actress-little-daniella#128861064 I haven't watched the video but looking at this girl, everybody would think she's just a normal Igbo girl but she's mixed. I'm not about to talk about how lightskinned I was or about my family... Her story reminded of this particular young girl, at first, when I saw her, she reminded me of my ex. They're both very lightskinned and Igbos, my ex girl's dad is as dark but that didn't overshadow the light skin genes. So, this girl I'm talking about is not just lightskinned but also very beautiful — she just stands out but unfortunately I think she's still a minor but I know she go down dey collect. I'm very 'Americanized' so the thought of getting close to her is scary because I'm handsome too. Are you wondering why I said I feel pity for her? I know how guys desired to bed my girl back then, now this girl isn't from a rich family and I could see how those nîggas kept looking for opportunities to devour her. I know she has prolly started living that wild teen life because I could tell she enjoyed the attention. But hey, are Igbos mixed? Why are Igbos so lightskinned but aren't mixed? |
condralbedez: It seems it has happened already, I clicked on this thread from a thread about how she's got a child now at the age of 16. |
I don't really know her or watch Nollywood but reading the comments, a part of me feels sad a sharp shooter saw an opportunity and hit it fast while another part feel sad for her and at the same time, what if this is what she wanted? But... but... this sounds crazy because I'm gonna get attacked for saying that. She's just a young girl who felt that this was the only way to escape the reality surrounding her but got into another cage. |
When you understand that life isn't as serious as we all take it, some things that used to make sense to you all the time wouldn't make so much sense to you again. Good night, young one. |
Goodnewsforlife: At least, I'm a real man and I can teach those younger than me the right thing unlike you. I didn't know I was talking to an old man old enough to understand that life is too short to be racist but can't; and that's so unfortunate. I rather be 20 year old me than 80 year old you. |
Goodnewsforlife: The racist thing thinks I give a fvck, I'm doing exactly the same thing Eminem does — name-dropping bums he put in the place they belong. |
Even as an ambitious hustler, I know money is not everything because we all gonna leave everything we worked for and journey to the unknown realm. I lost my father two days to my 13th birthday and it still hurts till this day. Imagine mourning half of your family and getting cyberbullied by people like @Goodnewsforlife for some petty reasons 😔. It gets crazier when you think of the fact it could have been the whole family, imagine the dad calling the other kids but it turns out they were busy and couldn't make it. Now, imagine how that the youngest member of the family would feel when she remembers that she badly wanted to go out that day with the rest but couldn't because of school. |
Goodnewsforlife: Be man enough and send a pm, I'll gladly send you my account details containing my sweet Igbo name. Ugly racist! Act like a bum and get placed on the toilet seat like a bum. |
Goodnewsforlife: At least I didn't pretend to be what I'm not, I offered my services in exchange for money — English must be really difficult for you to understand. I'm not that black thing being racist to other black groups on an "anonymous" forum. You're disgusting because you think it's okay to be racist as long as you're hating on Caucasians and other black groups, if a white man said what you said; there would be racist idiots like you screaming "black lives matter". Pig pee in you all day! |
Goodnewsforlife: Stop quoting me, disgusting black thing — some black folks (like this thing) be acting like animals and still wondering why the rest of the world think they're inferior. If not because I've got the most angelic woman as my mother and that I'm proud of the African in me, I'd be very mad I've got African genes in me. |
Goodnewsforlife: Why don't you send me a pm and I can drop my phone number so you can say it to my face since you're so obsessed with the Igbo people? Keep your useless opinion to yourself because it's obvious you're a subhuman like your fellow monkeys hating on other black groups. Pathetic! The bum actually thinks I give a fvck about black racists like him — black lives matter indeed! |
I didn't really care about this until I saw a particular comment here on this thread. Dear Nigerian criticizer, take those opinions of yours and write them down in an 80 leaves long book; then shove it up your ass. Worthléss things just like the disgusting bigot @Goodnewsforlife who claims someone mourning her family is disrespectful but chose to involve over 40 million souls (Igbos) into this. |
Badmashiii: Then brace up, it's gonna be a bitter and unfruitful journey. Screenshot this. It's funny how Igbos, Yorubas, Hausas, Ijaws, Igalas, and do on are all "tribes" but icelanders are a nation. Winter has just begun, enjoy... |
Badmashiii: You think this country can be "fixed" by election? I don't even want to mention revolution because our inability to let go of our difference has made that practically impossible. We do not just need a revolution but a thorough one that will sweep away the evil in both the government and us citizens. The best option is for this country to be divided, then we can all go home and sweep our houses our own way. |
