The other day he was banging on about the "eyes on the judiciary" after Femi Falana and other individuals had condemned what they saw as an attempt to bully the judiciary and preempt the judgement, after his silly statement, Dr Abati went on to correct him about social standards and state the position of the law, and he did so with calm composure, Dr Abati has a degree in law amongst other qualifications.
Can you believe this idiot who only has a minor degree in geography or some other nonsensical qualification was busy playing with his phone on live TV as Dr Abati spoke.

He was allowed to spew his jargon unhindered but once he was being corrected he put his head down and just toyed with his phone.

Those judges are Raping and at the same time, beating our constitution to stupor.

All these misinterpretation is because they have collected their own share of national cake and more especially, Peter Obi is from the Igbo race.

Those Igbo politicians that are shouting One Nigeria should see what one Nigeria is all about.
Nonsense

You evidently have never read the constitution or the electoral act. Sincerely the lawyers representing Obi and Atiku were very poor, they tried to throw out Tinubu using technicalities and very little in the way of evidence.
They made big claims but they failed to support it with the evidence required. Easily thrown out .

I've watched this live for 11hrs now, I'm tired and somewhat lost sometimes but the judges have made sense and sighted major judgements including Justice Tobi, Justice Oputa and major electoral judgements going back to 1976.

It's not very hard to see how the petitioners failed

I wonder

But I think she has some clicks in the judiciary that they want her to use for them, but now that Nyesom Wike his with Tinubu that may not be possible

They could also have relied on her before her retirement

Peter Odili and Tinubu are pals from way back even if in different parties. Citizens shouldn't die in the political tussles of these politicians, it's a family matter to them.

She was on PDP's side because of Wike. Now that Wike is with Tinubu the judgement need to be in favour of Tinubu and indirectly Wike

If she has an allegiance to Tinubu/APC it wouldn't be because Wike is with Tinubu but rather because her husband Peter Odili and Tinubu go back a long way. Wike is Peter Odili's boy and not vice versa.

Her family and Tinubu family are very close like family friends.

That's because you've brought into the propaganda being bandied about by pro-govt capitalists.
Note that the main excuse they are giving is the international price of crude. They make it seem as if govt is beholden by whatever laws to seek crude at international price to its own refineries. That's a lie. Statutorily, there's crude allocation to the refineries from NNPCL quota at only cost price. So this means that the main input is statutorily at zero price.
Secondly, if they are selling at international price, are they selling in dollars or naira? If it's naira, and naira is expected to appreciate as pressure on forex for fuel importation reduces, should price in naira not also drop as a result?
My point is if Saudi can sell fuel at less than 100naira from its refineries without subsidy, how come its Nigeria that's saying cost of refining locally and importing will be almost the same? How does that make sense exactly?

The country is bound to a price of crude oil because it's a member of OPEC.

The only way any Nigerian would buy PMS at 200naira is through some form of subsidy or financial gymnastics that would require the FG to forgo potential earnings.

You can't have your cake and also eat it.

Well, since we are still having this conversation, let's look at it from this perspective.

Nigeria gets most of its refined fuel from Netherlands.

What is the cost of labour in Nigeria compared to Netherlands? Similar, less or more?

If maintenance takes less overhead than labour, it means labour is a bigger determinant. The main input is crude. Netherlands does not have. Nigeria does, which means the cost of input should be lower for Nigeria than Netherlands.

So, maintenance cost will be lower in Netherlands than Nigeria.

Labour cost will be lower in Nigeria than Netherlands.

Cost of industrial input will be higher in Netherlands than Nigeria.

Lastly, Netherlands being an EU country will have its refinery pay more environmental tax since it is a signatory to the Paris climate accord.

With all the above, who should have lower fuel price between both countries?

If you have a contrary estimation let me know.

I'm not contesting some of the facts you have listed above, but do not believe the IPMAN man, to do so would be to be liable to being deceived.

There is no way PMS or other crude derivatives of interest, Diesel, Kerosene or Aviation fuel would fall to these low numbers being bandies about.

Well, you're not in tune with industrial activities enough if you think price should be exorbitant because of maintenence costs. Whatever makes your maintenence take over 50% of your overhead, just know your business is headed for the rocks. Cost minimization and profit optimisation is one of the core duties of an engineer in case you don't know

My argument is not that maintenance should represent 50% of your manufacturing overheadsx I think we are all aware that usually goes to labour etc. But our contention is that the overhead costs of which maintenance would be one and as I mentioned earlier labour and energy would mean the local cost of refining would not be far off from imported products and thus Nigerians shouldn't look forward to 200N PMS or diesel.

Failing parts in a matter of weeks? Are you talking of a machine or a toy?

You think it's a failure, but it's not it's a PM activity. I'm using seals as an example it might be a filter or something else.

I'm just trying to bring you to the reality of manufacturing facilities and the daily toil to keep them running especially when it's a 24/7 operation.

The tools need to pay for themselves because it's usually capital intensive so you should always strive for uptimal utilisation. Which may mean preventative maintenance actions which would/may consume parts & labour.

Think of other parts. Filters replacement of failing parts, some could be like I said as little as 30 dollars to a few thousand

All this silly excuse of spare parts. I guess refineries change spare parts every week. People that know nothing just keep spewing with confidence.
Since you're paying €1.60/ltr for PMS, kindly tell us how much you're making as well let's compare

I work in a multinational manufacturing facility as an Eng Tech and I can assure you, planned maintenance is a constant thing, you'll do it every week, every two weeks every month every 6 months etc.
Could be something as little as a small seal or an oring, and the silly little thing might be 30-100 dollars and a specific one supplied by the vendor is what you must use according to the maintenance manual.

Trash. Calculate the cost of shipping the Crude oil and the cost of importing the refined product. When you produce locally, you eliminate the cost of importation and custom duties. The government will save money they use for exporting to the international buyers. This is a simplified info. There's something they are hiding from the public.

The logistical costs are actually a small element within the unit price. The other issue is the technicians who would be working those refineries would get paid at international standards, some even more so the production costs would be comparable to any other refinery globally. So all you're saving are FX adjustments, trans Atlantic logistics and insurance costs.

At lost you're looking at 20-25% reduction and that's generous

No talk that one in public ooh, the subsidy under the buhari regime went up almost 50%. They kept masquerading the nature of the subsidy with all sorts of lingo from fuel.swap to just blatant corruption.

Go have a look at the little government expenditure and budgets available and you'll be able to see subsidy within it .

Now, what is the OPEC benchmark price per liter, which every member countries must sell the oil?
Just I had explained in the morning. If the benchmark price is #400 per liter and the cost of production of the oil locally is cumulatively #250 per liter and the government sales #350 per liter. The government still has a gain of #100 per liter in which #50 can be use to upset the benchmark and the remaining #50 for the benefit of the nation.
Don't let anyone deceive you, there's no better alternative than the crude being refined locally. More advantageous, cheaper and labour minimal and also add to employment radar of the country. Those deceiving us are just making the country a laughing stock amongst other countries of the world. The countries selling below OPEC benchmark price, are doing so because they argument from their sales to meet benchmark, which serves as subsidt to her people.

I don't know if you're in agreement with me or not. You've stated a fact which I also agree with that the only way to have the price as suggested by the IPMAN fellow is to have government intervention in the form of subsidy, they can spin it anyway they want but it would ultimately be government losing potential revenue.

I think you should have explain more better than making it seems is not possible. Yes, as a member of OPEC, Nigeria cannot sale below the international price, that's a well known fact but that doesn't mean the price of the pms won't crash if the crude is locally refined because the lifting and landing costs would have been taken care of. As at today nobody knows the lifting and landing costs, everything is done in secrecy and that is telling on the poor masses because the burden is transfered to them to bear now.
The question now is:
What is the lifting cost of the crude oil?
What is the cost if refining the crude outside per liter?
What is the landing cost of the refined pms?
What is the OPEC price per liter of pms?
What would be the production cost in Nigeria after crude refine?
All these factors must be taking to consideration before finally submission can be arrived at. If IPMAN can come out and say, PMS can be sold as low as 200 naira, who are you and mine to say it is a lie?
Again, the question is, what is the price of PMS in Iran, in Saudi Arabia and other countries that have crude oil like Nigeria?

The CEO of NNPC and other knowledgeable individuals have put the lifting costs and other logistics costs at between 60-100/ ltr.

If government forgo some levies you can cut another 20/ltr
