Tinubu is at fault here!
As soon as he was sworn in he should have given all poor Nigerians one million to eradicate poverty!

We have too much oil and natural resources to pay us all!

And he should have provided free raw material too for all industries to mitigate against them going away!

I tire for Nigeria!

Please which country can I migrate to and get new citizenship?

Don't mention Argentina cos P & G is leaving Argentina too!

Argentina is same as Nigeria as P & G don comot too!
cheesy

Free 1m to over 200m Nigerians. They are still struggling to give 35k monthly to just 800k families over 6 months.

And free raw material, some imported with scarce dollars . Some of you Nigerians are just dence, that is why someone like Obi could sell you such silly ideas so successfully without shame because he was talking to idiots.

I don't blame them. Like seriously a country of 200 million people generated a net sales of $50 million dollars. As in that is the height of poverty. Nigerians purchasing power has taken a serious hit

Never thought of it as competition has reduced the P&G market share. They are no more the entity they were in the olden days when they were a household name now many young people don't even know what name.

They think 2023 is 1960.

Go ahead and destroy your country with your hands.

So Obi would have come along and in less than 8 months resolved the CBN forex conundrum ! You lot can really make a messiah of a stone once you set your minds to it.

If there is something this foreign companies are seing we are yet to see ?

2024 will reveal alot.

It isn't good but it can become an opportunity for others. Their absence should spur someone to fill the vacuum, a $50million net sales is decent for a manufacturer with big dreams and plans to expand.

They have equipment already in Nigeria and a manufacturing plant someone who has a decent plan can seek to acquire that. The biggest issue for Nigerian investors is actually financing because the foreign companies seek to repatriate their profits while a local owner doesn't care as much for that.

Yet the chief of defence staff is from Southern Kaduna. You just done want to use the little sense you have to reason.

Military errors like this are rather more common than reported given what is civilian areas are infested with bandits, from over 1000ft above the pilots can't differentiate very accurately civilian and militants combatants.
Such was very prevalent in afghan and also Iraq.

This is the person APC supporters were praising as a performer, 100 million dollars is over 100 billion naira, he served 8 years as governor, where did he get all that money from, what were his businesses before he became governor?

The VC ambition is set at 100m, but he is only staking $2M of his own money. They plan to raise the large proportion of the funds from private investors interested in the potential in the African space.

He should be applauded for using his influence to seek private investment for upstarts.

Language is not a true test of leadership. We must not major in the minor always!

Identity can be very important in real leadership where the important element previously missing is servitude to the people their desires and needs.

There has been a disconnect between governance and the people at the local most basic levels.
This kind of governor would be ignorant of the realities, history and peculiarities of the people, he is doomed to fail before he even starts

The book "Stumbling on happiness" on my mind right now wink

The reality is that Edo is not monolingual so there may be no furore if a candidate turns out to be like LP's Chinedu in Lagos who can't speak Yoruba in a monolingual Lagos and had to get an interpreter during campaign too.

Asue and his siblings were born and raised in Ibadan where their parents lived, stayed and worked. They are Omo Ibadan.

Their late mum was Yoruba while their late Dad was Esan. If they were females married to Yoruba men, they could even aspire to be the Governor of Oyo state. It's the names of the boys that affiliated and restricted them as Edo, aside that, they could pass for a Yoruba family and seen as such by their Yoruba kith and kin.

Their late mum, a Yoruba woman, was particularly phenomenal and popular as well as a role model to many people in Ibadan so much that her name was a household name in Ibadan those days. Their late Dad was a Senior Staffer at the University of Ibadan.Check my signature for free stuffs!

Is he from the same Ighodalo family from Agbowo area of Ibadan same as the Pastor Ighodalo ?

I do think he should be able to speak to his people in a language they understand, if he can't do so conveniently he should speak English or pidgin, there is no need for the interpreter

The land was sold by land grabbers also called Omo Oniles

Yes, thats why it is called encroachment. It is illegal and the government didn't approve it

No, they dont even have survey

None of the question has government hand.

If you watch the video, you will see where the FHA officials said they went to mark the houses for them to stop work but they ignored and continued their building

Which kind of stupid person buys land anywhere near a reserved FG plot from "omo onile"

It's has been affirmed that most "bought" allocations from supposed FHA officials who issued them and illegal plot, the buyers knew very well they were buying a plot through the back door but many assumed they could regularise the purchase once it's gone through the FHA.

The problem is the allocation is illegal and once someone comes along who decides to sanitise the system the buyers have no real legal claim to the land, the federal laws make this very clear, the government can also choose of criminal actions against it employees(most often now retired) involved may be financially possible or not but you that has been a house on the land stand the loose the most.

NO. They do not. It's the Abuja town planning authority on orders of the minister. Not the FHA.

I have not heard of FHA demolishing a fully completed and occupied building anywhere in Nigeria. The Lagos state govt simply hid behind the FHA lagos office to carry out this wicked act.

The officials that demolished the buildings did not come from Abuja. They came from round the corner with clear instructions from Lagos state government officials. We all can remember the threat made at the floor of the Lagos state house of assembly with regards to Igbos in Lagos.

Are the structures illegal ? If the answer is yes then stop the nonsense

From reports of people who live in Festac this demolitions also affect some Yoruba people who have built houses there and I've been told some retired military officers were also affected

Most of the people whose properties were demilished know that their building is illegal and not approved. The FHA told them, marked their houses but they ignored warnings and painted over the markings.

They felt they are above the law and NOBODY APPROVED THEIR CONSTRUCTIONS. The feeble attempt to turn this into a tribal fight is a waste of time

Some of those people were expecting and campaigning for Obi with the idea that a political solution would be applied to their case. Many have been paying FHA officials bribes through the Buhari/ Osinabjo years.

Look at Abuja and see the nonsense they've made of that well planned city. Now Wikenis there and people are feeling the heat.

This administration has shown it wouldn't fall for the sentimental games people play, it would enforce the rules without prejudice

I think the culture of "Matching ground fee" started in Africa.

What is the earliest records of such conduct in Africa, it most certainly doesn't predate independence. And from all accounts started post 1970s/80s when militias apposed to governments started operating along the borders and in strongholds demanding levies from locals within their sphere of control.

But Sicilian mafias have existed pre world war 1, Yakuza and triads likewise and the rise of the eastern European mafia was after world war II. And all these organisations started out as protection rackets

Terrible! RIP to the dead. I wish the injured quick recovery.

Majority of African people are morally bankrupt. Why should a bar owner settle people before having customers? Too much of entitlement mentality.

It's actually not an African tradition, but came a culture that dates back to Italy and eastern European mafia who demand protection racket money. It's also the traditional money spinner for the Asian triads and Yakuza before most ventured into human trafficking, prostitution, organ trafficking and illicit drugs and in some cases organised labour and construction rackets.

We've seen an increase since the rise of militias in Africa, BH, bandits and ND militants have been known to use these methods too.

Governments have a duty to punish criminality and end these attitude of engaging criminals with amnesty.

I don't even know what our architectural students are being taught in our universities 😏, nothing exceptional in their designs, always that 'square design' with 'send down the rain rooftop' that is prominent at almost every estate in the country undecided grin

You guys can do better, be more creative abeg, architecture is more of an art, and arts are unique representation of life, so guard it!

You should check our Francis Kere. Mud is an ideal material for building homes in our country, concrete has thermal properties that are not ideal for our weather.

We should go back to using red clay bricks and screeding using engineered clay plaster. I believe the iron content is partially responsible for the colour of clay.
