What rubbish? 200 days is enough to affect an economy positively, even if on a minute scale for a start. In some other climes the the negatives starts reversing right from swearing in day based on initial declarations and body language of the incoming, and not the other way round. Make una dey reason.
Do you people think that if the LP candidate was the one in charge now and things went this bad, we won't all shout because we supported him?

Please do mention three major food crops in a Nigerian market that has a 200 day planting to harvest window, I'll be waiting.
We are heading into december/fall season with fewer crops reaching maturity/harvest, the next major harvests start from late February/march onwards.

Any economic input from this current government can't be expected to translate to cheaper food on the plate of the average Nigerian in less than two planting seasons, if anyone tell you otherwise they've either had a dinner with the all-seeing and all-knowing God because only a miracle can bring such a result.

It's time for Nigerians to take the finger out of their bumhole and start using reason when making statements and take actions to address future disaster

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2023/10/nbs-report-on-soaring-food-prices-verdict-on-tinubus-rule-lp/

It is silly of LP to insist that the NBS report on food price inflation is a consequence of poor economic management by a government that has only been in executive control of same economy for less than 200 days.

The issues around supply of food and other similar domestic consumables can only be attributed to the security and social upheavals experienced in the main agricultural belts of the nation and the devastating effects of the floods we saw last year which has negatively affected the crop yields in many cases and outrightly wiped out all crops in many others.

We've also seen an increased targeted attack on farming areas by bandits, the faeme/herder crisis has not let up, many farming settlements have been destroyed, many farmers have been em-poverished because of the total loss of crops, many have died many have been maimed and can't return to their fields.

Coupled with the poor logistical, storage and processing facilities for food crops tye country is guaranteed to enter into a crisis.

We also have the issue of the impact of higher OPEC prices for oil and the resultant PMS, Diesel and other by-products urea(fertilizer)

The only solution is for the government to implement a multifaceted strategy around mechanised agriculture, improve the logistics and transport of crops from fields to the marketplace, increase the capacity to convert crops to finished products for the marketplace, and most importantly secure the lives and properties of the farmers.

Gestapo state,,,,,,

You don't need a court order to enforce laws which are already passed by the state legislature. The issue is noise pollution it's the owners of 10pots who need to seek legal redress if they feel the laws weren't breached and the state had over-reached, they can then claim for damages/loss of revenue likewise

blabulu2000:
is the definition of Settler colonialism and the "Lebensraum" project of the Zikist Igbos over the rest of Nigeria most especially Yorubaland.

They tell you to join them to k:ill Yoruba political leaders in order to create a new Nigeria but replace them with who? Igbos of course!
For every Gbajabiamila you remove, they will be replaced by one kenechukwu Osuji.

They are ready to burn down Nigeria than to stop their morbid, rabid and toxic obsession for political power in Yorubaland at all cost.

While Ahmadu Bello and Obafemi Awolowo were advocating for regional or confederal Nigeria, Zik was advocating for a unitarist constitution and system of government before 1960. Azikwe wanted his people to rule Yorubaland badly that he was ready to create chaos in Nigeria to achieve that.

Till today, the sons of Zik still publicly cvrse Awolowo for stopping their patriarch from Igbonizing YORUBALAND. What Zik could not achieve by becoming the premier of Yorubaland, he started implementing it through federal power. He used his power in the federal government to start appointing Igbos as the Vice chancellors of universities in Lagos and Ibadan. The railway corporations in the West was heavily igbonized and federal offices in the Western region was filled with Azikiwe's kinsmen. Imagine what this ma:d man would have done if he had access to the keys of the treasury in the western region? The chaos Azikwe created in Yorubaland was so much to the extent that Awolowo had to start building a Yoruba university from the scratch currently called Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile Ife.

Those who assasinated Aare Ladoke Akintola at the political capital of YORUBALAND in Ibadan, so that they can pave way for the current unitary system of government that has ravaged the lives of ethnic nationalities within Nigeria are currently scheming at every elections on how to take over political offices and power from Yoruba people in Yorubaland.

This is the definition of evil. While their current leader Peter Obi who is nothing but a empty nu:isnace continues to incite anarchy against the president of Nigeria who is a Yoruba man, another local Peter Obi like Kenechukwu Osuji is scheming to replace Femi Gbajabiamila. All their lives, they have always coveted anything the Yoruba people have or possess. Our land, our waters, resources, our culture, our heritage, our economic space, political space and even our dressings should be theirs by lies, propaganda or hiding under one Nigeria.

The problem is that, these Zikists don't know when to stop. That is why any sane and right thinking individual will understand that the biggest beneficiaries of the current unitary system of government are Igbos. This is because it gives unfettered access to the economic and political spaces of other ethnic nations outside their ethnic space. The same people who quickly formed ESN against "Fulanis" because of the protection of the political and economic space in Igboland will tell you 1000 and 1 reasons why kenechukwu must be Governor of Lagos state and why Shinedu must be the senator of Ogun state.

The ethnic minorities talkless of the Hausa-Fulanis will not condone this evil in their midst.

Nigeria is an ethnically heterogeneous country made up of different Geopolitical zones and the Southwest will not be the victim of the machinations and Zionist settler colonialist agenda of Zikist Igbos who sponsor constant Yoruba hate on social media and orthodox media in Nigeria.

All Yorubas within the Southwest and outside the Southwest of Nigeria should come together to see the evil that is unfolding once again in YORUBALAND.

We are dealing with a group who believe that their roadmap to political power in Nigeria is to deyorubanize Yoruba states and space by capturing political power from the Indigenous Yoruba population by lies, subterfuge, uncontrolled migration, unitary system of government or by cloning themselves into Yoruba politics by adopting Yoruba names

What influenced this your long diatribe ?

I don't see the place of this position in this particular topic about CBN FX policy

You can't compensate for an issue which is the fault of the home owner; Never pay anyone to circumvent a planning permit, get the correct approval before building and complete due diligence before buying any property.

Anyone who bought a built property can seek civil redress from whomever sold him/her the property, or from government but good luck with such a case in court. Remember the issue of ignorance before the law.

What if fraudnubu requests for the entire piece of land you're demolishing, won't you give him? You can only deceive f00ls. Meanwhile, why don't you demolish before elections? Why after elections when the people are helpless and vulnerable?

Whoever bought the property has a right to the land where it doesn't encroach on the drainage setback.

However what I see is people who have bought a fully built property from a developer who falsely assume that all is in order per the permits and planning permission only for the state to flag an issue with the structure or the land on which it seats, such an individual can bring forward a civil case from the developer and claim for damages from them.

He filled the application and sorted out the appointment date some 2 months ahead and within a 5days he received his new passport by post.

The last time I did my passport it was terrible the appointment process was chaotic, the replacement process was chaotic and disjointed and I had to visit the embassy multiple times to receive the passport over a period of 4 weeks and I ultimately had to forgo an holiday trip to Spain this was 2016, it actually forced me to take up the dual-nationality I had put aside for over a decade

Fallacious! Both Dangote & Ibeto were allowed to import a percentage to augment insufficient local supplies otherwise prices of few locally produced would skyrocket. That's commonsensical, RIGHT?

IBETO later got forex from CBN to boost local production both in Enugu & PHC with other value-added (engineering, design, etc) BUT Dangote under Buhari stopped Ibeto, and continued giving forex to Dangote!

Don't be mischievous. Dangote is not pro-masses. He's so selfish & an economic saboteur!

If BAT has the balls & restores IBETO CEMENT, watch out & see how he will crash cement prices.

Dangote didn't stop ibeto , the CBN instituted a policy to grow local production.

Anyone who is honest knows Dangote has worked very hard increase their local production and don't import cement to rebag anymore they've moved away from that practice something even the OP noted, it's cheaper to quarry limestone in Nigeria than in other places, Dangote has also increased his production capacity in West and Central Africa digesting away from Nigeria but ibeto wants to keep importing and rebaging the cement using FX.

The FX was sold to Dangote at CBN rate as was the FG multiple window policy as part of the FG's 20-25% investment in his refinery. And Dangote wasn't the only beneficiary though the particular release made him one of its highest.

The FG failed to manage the FX and that threatened the refinery project.

I respect Dangote because unlike the idiots who fail to invest Dangote takes very serious risks in investing in Nigeria.

BUA's cement price will go back to normal ...just watch

Evidently BUA is playing a game of undercutting Dangote to gain some of the local market share, that price reduction is a temporary thing, they can not sustain it.

The OP mislead the readers by suggesting BUA, Lafarge and Dangote had an unusually high profit margin while in truth they don't, unlike their international counterparts they don't receive government intervention funds, or preferable tax deductibles.
If Dangote defaulted on his loans today the CBN wouldn't come to his rescue because they don't even have the capacity to do so. You lot are complaining about Forex at over 1000/$ bit never thought about when Dangote watched 2 billion wiped out of his total asset value because the naira lost value. The man has borrowed over 6 billion to build that refinery and it has gone well over cost, whose going to help him repay his debtors !

Nobody shut down ibeto because of hatred, ibeto failed to increase it's production capacity but was rather using its licence to import cement and rebag while that was only meant to be a temporary measure to build up local manufacturing capacity.

Ibeto was hurting the Nigerians economy and had to go. No one's stopping ibeto from making corrections within the market, it was a simple CBN policy of local production that killed ibeto.

And even if Dangote influenced government to make that policy he has a right to lobby for it if he sees that ibeto's practice would undermine his business and the domestic interest of Nigeria, all ibeto had to do was make adjustments from import to local manufacturing

This calls for immediate diligent investigation for likelihood of national economic sabotage and unfair trade practices against Nigerians by these three companies.

This is utterly shameful and heads must roll in any agency found culpable. For years, there has been strident calls for investigation of these companies cement companies and these calls have been ignored but this report is by far the most compelling to investigate cement pricing in Nigeria. Haba!

Only Lafarge come close to having a significant amount of its shares owned by Nigerians while the 2 cement companies owned by Nigerians are literally one-man business like a 2-man cartel using cement price to hold down the progress of this nation.
More than 90% of the outstanding shares of Dangote cement is owned by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, GCON while about 95% of the outstanding shares of BUA cement is owned by Alhaji Rabiu. So the unparalleled world record profit held by these two companies end in the pocket of these two individuals shocked

It's a capitalist world , and the 3 businesses are privately owned, it's important.to note while the comparison of earnings before tax deductibles is very generous to the Nigerian firms these firms are also most exposed to Forex fluctuations and overhead cost inconsistencies.

Unless the consumer protection agency can assert that there was a joint enterprise by these 3 companies to fix the price of cement then there can be no crime, if you can build your own cement factory and undercut them then you're welcome to it.

And the idea that 90% of shares end up in BUA or Dangote's pocket's is nonsense and devoid of fact, these are both publicly traded on the Nigerian exchange and Dangote has been moving to list on the London exchange for some time now so you can spare us the wailing.

The consumer protection agency has a duty to Nigerians they should be responsible for regulatory compliance
