PoliticsRe: A Tribute To Late President Umaru Musa Yaradua!!! by Sweetlemon(f): 6:26pm On May 06, 2012
I see some people listing Yar' Adua's major crime as Northernizing the key govt areas. Ok. But as far as I am concerned, being a southerner, I will rather have a situation where ALL of the top govt officials in the country are northerners and there is peace, stability, little corruption, improved cost of living, good roads, electricity, good health care, and sound education than a situation where most govt officials are from my own village but poverty, insecurity, high corruption, and ever increasing cost of production are the order of the day. I do not give a rat a.s.s about the tribal marks on our leaders' faces, all I care about is good governance and peace of mind

kutchs: Many of us here do not appreciate the enormity of the problem Nigeria faces. Jonathan may not have met all our expectations but how many presidents and heads of state ever met all expectations? What could any one Buhari, Ribadu, Utomi, Shekarau etc have done given the many problems the country is facing? Running a complex difficult country lyk Nigeria is not running a Town Dev Union.
Your post shows that Jonathan has met some expectations right? Can u kindly list those expectations for us to see and appreciate?

Garba Audu: Hmmm. There is no need for this poll. There's one thing you can never take away from GEJ; His calmness. No matter the pressure, no matter the tension, no matter the boiling point or volatility, he always remain mute with his smiling face. Remember the Azazi outburst, GEJ says "boko revolt is not a problem of PDP, it is a problem of everybody in Nigeria. Those who called for dialogue are right, those who said there should never be dialogue are also right!" ...aahh! Oni luck o!
And who told you that calm, smiling people are always good people. And why should a man still be smiling AND doing practically nothing when his house is on firehuh
PoliticsRe: With His Current Situation, Do You Pity President Jonathan? by Sweetlemon(f): 2:14pm On May 06, 2012
oiseworld: he is the president of nigeria and needs only support now so dosen't need pity.
But coming to the fuel subsidy issue, with all the findings and corruption that has been revealed and cut short at the moment. You still go about regreting why subsidy was removed. Na wa for some peoples understanding ooohhh. And do you know much was yar Adua's feeding money or obj's. Maybe much more than gej's but nobody knew then.
Now we know, and no body is giving gej credit for allowing transparency.

Even when we get to the promised land its ovious some would still not know.
So if Jonathan murders your mother openly, you will applaud him cos he did it transparently? So because he openly budgets N1B for food right in the midst of the harsh impact of subsidy removal on most Nigerians, he has done well abi? Oh I see! Pls forgive my ignorance

Wily+Wily:
Jonathan didn't introduced corruption in the system, he met it there but trying all his best to curtail it, for the past 40yrs Fraudulent Yorubas and their Dubious partners (Hausa/Fulani North) mess Nigeria up by introducing their Looting and embezzling culture and you want Jonathan to correct all those wrongs in one year, tell the Children of Awolowo to bring back their fathers loots.
He's trying his best to curtail corruption by budgeting N1B food for himself and N300M for his kitchen at a time when he wants to remove fuel subsidy? Wow!
PoliticsRe: With His Current Situation, Do You Pity President Jonathan? by Sweetlemon(f): 11:51am On May 06, 2012
Rather it is Jonathan that should be pitying us! He is quite safe from boko haram in aso rock because he has the best security, FREE. He has abundant FREE fuel running 24/7, he eats whenever, whatever he likes FREE, he rides in the best fleets, FREE. so he should be the one pitying us who have to sweat blood to feed ourselves and fuel our generators and our only hope of security is in God.
PoliticsRe: With His Current Situation, Do You Pity President Jonathan? by Sweetlemon(f): 11:38am On May 06, 2012
To be sincere, I would have pitied him if he hadn't removed fuel subsidy on the NEW YEAR'S DAY (for crying out loud) without even considering the boko haram issue, Nigerians were still trying to get over the trauma of the christmas day bombings, while at the same time budgeting N1B for his food, and 300M for his wife's kitchen. I just can not stomach those things. They are just too gruesome!
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram To Bomb Lagos And Abuja In 72 Hours Unless: (Called AIT Editor) by Sweetlemon(f): 7:47pm On May 05, 2012
TroGunn: Amnesty was to get militants to drop arms. To be fair to MEND, they got the FG to establish the Niger Delta Ministry to speed up DEVELOPMENT of the Niger Delta, which was the basis for them to disarm thru the Amnesty program. Of course the ND Ministry is a failure, but that's another discussion. {http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niger_Delta_Ministry}.

That a BH member was in a Northern State's Government lodge just shows that some Northen states govts or officials may be supporting the group. BH has claimed to have support of some people there, so maybe no surprises there:

"People were singing songs in [northern cities] Kano and Kaduna saying: 'We want Boko Haram'," Qaqa said, describing how the group can blend into the communities in which it operates. "If the masses don't like us they would have exposed us by now. When Islam comes everyone would be happy," he said.
From the 2nd part of the answer you gave, it is obvious, even to you that boko haram is politics. End of discussion
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram To Bomb Lagos And Abuja In 72 Hours Unless: (Called AIT Editor) by Sweetlemon(f): 6:27pm On May 05, 2012
TroGunn: Feel free to continue burying your head under the sand. The sect has openly said (in fleunt Hausa language videos and interviews) what they want and why they are doing it, but some people would rather believe fancy conspiracy theories.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/jan/27/boko-haram-nigeria-sharia-law

{The Islamist group Boko Haram, which has killed almost 1,000 people in Nigeria, will continue its campaign of violence until the country is ruled by sharia law, a senior member has told the Guardian.

"We will consider negotiation only when we have brought the government to their knees," the spokesman, Abu Qaqa, said in the group's first major interview with a western newspaper. "Once we see that things are being done according to the dictates of Allah, and our members are released [from prison], we will only put aside our arms – but we will not lay them down. You don't put down your arms in Islam, you only put them aside."

Qaqa said Shekau and others had travelled to Saudi Arabia for training and funding. "Al-Qaida are our elder brothers. During the lesser Hajj [last August], our leader travelled to Saudi Arabia and met al-Qaida there. We enjoy financial and technical support from them. Anything we want from them we ask them."

"People were singing songs in [northern cities] Kano and Kaduna saying: 'We want Boko Haram'," Qaqa said, describing how the group can blend into the communities in which it operates. "If the masses don't like us they would have exposed us by now. When Islam comes everyone would be happy," he said.}
Good. Now tell me, what reasons did MEND give for their own attacks? Did they not say they were fighting for the DEVELOPMENT of the Niger Delta? Why did they then agree to cease fire when offered the amnesty program? Oh! So amnesty is now developing ND states abi? Can't u see that the reason given by boko haram is only a cover up?? Can't u see the political undertones? What was a top member doing in a GOVERNMENT LODGEhuhhuhhuh? Oh! He was saying his jumat prayers there!!!!!
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram To Bomb Lagos And Abuja In 72 Hours Unless: (Called AIT Editor) by Sweetlemon(f): 5:23pm On May 05, 2012
TroGunn: "Those attributing the Boko Haram phenomenon to politics and economics are ignorant; they don’t know what they are talking about.  There is nothing political about Boko Haram whose sole mission is the use of violent means to Islamize Nigeria. It is fueled by frustrations that Nigeria's illegal membership of the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) has not produced the desired result after many years. Adding to this frustration is the fact that the Sharia crusade of the Northern Muslim Hausa-Fulani States failed to record the anticipated success. The only political dimension to Boko Haram is the thinking that if Nigeria is completely Islamized, power will always reside with the Northern Muslim Hausa-Fulani. And so, the chances of an "infidel" like Jonathan coming to power when Nigeria is under Islamic rule would never exist.

Boko Haram is not a recent phenomenon in Northern Nigeria; it has always been there, vigorously pursuing the Islamization of Nigeria. The only new development is that they have upped the level of violence deployed to achieve their objectives. Their motivation for raising the level of violence is not related to domestic economic and political matters; rather, it is motivated by the recent and on-going escalation of world-wide Islamic terrorism".

Pls, is Jonathan the first and only "infidel" to rule Nigeria?

That is why it is so obvious that Boko haram is politics and politics is boko haram. I don't know why people have not been able to figure it out by now

coogar: well, naija boys have seen the light. the average nigerian babe has nothing to offer nigerian men
90% of you naija women have now embraced the western culture - you no longer cook, wash and iron for the naija dudes.

these are the things that used to prevent an average naija boy from marrying foreign women.
so why would any naija boy want to marry a naija babe? wetin una get to offer him?

the foreign chic also provides an opportunity for a naija man to get out of the hell-hole called nigeria(an incentive most naija babes cannot offer)
so what's the point in staying with a naija chic?
Na wa o! but I guess this 'independent woman' craze 9ja women now have is partly to blame for this. There is a way you can be independent without loosing your femininity.

In fact the higher the number of 0s in a woman's pay check, the better her chances of getting married. Haba! It's getting too much o! bros how far?

Mmuo Okija: Right that what?!

If the Nigerian military were so fantastic, why would they be out manueverd in the creeks by militants every day?! Why are they finding it difficult to deal with the boko haram menace?! The president is honest and said it out loud. . dont decieve yourself, he did say anything that was a secret. .

What institution did he institute?! Is he the founder of the Military?! If he had come out to say the Nigerian Army were an elite fighting force, people would call him a lair, now he has said the truth as it is, people are talking about hiding our secrets. . Arrant nonsense. .

Nigeiran are insatiable and dont deserve to be told the truth.
Nobody is saying that Mr. President is not saying the truth. But there are more mature, diplomatic and business-like ways of doing things like this. Now YOU and pple like you are the ones who need to tell yourselves the truth

xxhoney: @ sweetlemon, d guy didn't know any of d pastors but she did. And d stranger was even in another state. I agree with d previous posts as I do not completely believe in pastors prophecies especially when it has to do with right husband/wife. I believe everyone shud be able to seek Gods guidiance & direction on his or her own. Thanks u guys for all your responses, keep em coming.... Would like to see more. :-)
You sound naïve. Like seriously! What makes you think the guy did not ask someone he knows in that state to prophesy to her since he knew she would be going there? What makes you so sure he doesn't know the pastors? Because he told her doesn't know them? My dear, there are many fake pastors in Nigeria! I'm not completely ruling the boyfriend out but I take God beg her, make she shine eye. Abeg! Let her not be carried away with any tear he sheds for her. Like I said in another thread, broke guys are very 'loving' in nature they cling to you and do stuffs to make you feel they really love you. But the gospel truth is that they are just using it to cover up their in securities. This guy is already insecure as a man because he doesn't have money. If your friend leaves him, it will be the final blow to his ego, hence the tears when she tries to leave. Like I said, I'm not ruling him out but if she knows in her heart that what she feels for him is just pity and not true love, and if she happens to meet someone else who happens to show her love and if she loves him too, then let her not waste a second more with her current bf. But then again, the more time she spends with him, the more likely he is to cling to her and even threaten murder or suicide if she leaves him. Just think about it and let God help.

jobfront: Today i woke up feeling tired not to go to church, but finally, God inspired me & i went & it was awesome, i worship at RCCG a.k.a. Redeem, and the man of God that preached today seemed like he was sent to speak to me personally because all he said- fornication, using & dumping girls, immoral lifestyle and encouraging others not to be righteous, was all that i do. though i wasn't born this way, i was raised by a disciplinary father and a loving mother, who provided all my needs and showered me with love, but life experiences with the opposite sex began to turn me into a bad guy with no conscience for girls. in fact i was headed towards going as far as breaking hearts of at least 20 different girls by the end of this year. I loved guys that maltreat girls; if you cheat on your wife, u are my best friend, if you use & dump girls, u are my paddy and i don't mind giving u money to achieve any evil (besides physical killing) against girls. i just hated girls and had already cancelled marriage in my dictionary cos i was determined to adopt or born on contract. but this morning at RCCG amazing grace parish, God touched me amazingly, i am now a new person, so please ignore all my threads and posts against Nigerian girls. i Am sorry pls, forgive me Lord, i am sorry if i hurt any of u or destroyed your faith in God or in human, forgive me & forget. join me in prayers so i can stand and not fall again. to the ladies, try & be nice to men, try & ask God to help u become a good friend, daughter, sister, fiancee, wife and mother, God can do all things, i am now a witness. don't always put money & material things first in all u do, especially in your relationships. if u love a guy with your heart, go after him irrespective of his financial or social status, and join him in prayers and encourage him, he will surely make it and will forever value and respect/ treat you like a queen, than when you just come when he is already made. pls forgive my frequent bashing on Nigerian females, even if any wronged me, i have forgiven you all from the bottom of my heart and pls do find it in your own heart to forgive me too & forget. i want to live a new happy life, even with or without a woman. Now i see that having money is not all it takes to be happy in life, but having Jesus Christ, the giver of peace and joy, now i feel inner peace, good afternoon friends and God bless you all. Please moderators help me put this on the front page. Thank you & God bless you all & God bless NL! Pls find time and read these Bible verse: 2Timothy 3:1-4. Isaiah 53:5
Pls guys, live a good life that glorifies the name of God. loving and knowing God is the best & the only key to joy & happiness, so pls ignore my advise and be good to your friends, female and male, God loves us and wants us to be the best & to reflect His image in our daily lives. pls also pray for my salvation, that God should strengthen me not to fall but to stand till the end, amen! God bless you all, I love God so much, pls Lord help me to love u more each day!

PoliticsRe: GEJ Vows To End Boko Haram Menace During A Visit To Germany by Sweetlemon(f): 12:16pm On Apr 20, 2012
kurus: I can't believe I have broken my words never to post on this silly forum again.

I am amazed at the silly comments being passed by some folks here about GEJ.

Let me start by saying I am not from the SS, neither do I work for Naija govt in any capacity.

For a country that is 52 years old and have had corruption openly practised every single day of its existence, i find it naive that some folks here actually expect GEJ to change the country overnight, even if he wanted to. There's a psychological warfare being waged around GEJ, to try and prevent his running come 2015.

Let me ask some pertinent questions:

- When OBJ spent 8 years and didn't deal with Boko Haram, but left them alone to do their own thing, including intro
ducing Sharia over parts of the north, how many of the folks running their mouths here abused OBJ then, or even now blame him for not nipping the problem in the bud?

- When Yar adua left this country for almost a year, and the vice president was like a house boy in Aso rock, how many of the people here realised the absurdity of the country's politics that allowed such a lacuna to happen in the Presidency?

- When Buhari, Atiku, IBB, Gusau et al came openly to declare that they will set the country on fire, how many of the people here took them not seriously? and before you open your mouth to start saying 'why can't GEJ arrest them, let me ask if any of you work in an office environment, and how the politics in that office is played? Do you not know most times the people responsible for the horrible things happening in the company? and do those evil people EVER do those things themselves or do they use others to do their dirty work?

- VP Sambo has being fingered in the Boko Haram mess and a lot of highly placed people, but until you catch them making a call or with a bomb or some other incriminating evidence, you cant't prosecute them.

- How many governors did EFCC collate data on for prosecution over corruption and how many cases did the police, judiciary and even the Justice minister frustrate? Yeah, yeah, don't start screaming, if you can't do the job, get out of the kitchen.

and please, don't breathe that word Buhari. His bigotry is legendary: case in point: when Buhari was in power in 1984-85, tell me how many northern politicians he arrested and jailed? Mention 3 and there jail terms. A man who put the northern president under house arrest(in the president's own house) and who jailed the vice president? Can you believe how bigoted he is?

I digress but back to my point: This nation is so bleeped up that if the Nigerian president can only trust 2 people and he gives an order asking for elimination of BH bombers who have gone to carry out a bombing, you can be sure that at least one of the 2 people will go and ask for bribe from the BH boys.

If the naija police can kill fellow citizens over 20 naira, what do you think they will do over 1mil? So whats the solution:

Stop all the GEJ bashing: it aint achieving anything. Even the international recognition came because some of the things GEJ is doing is either not known to us, or we dont care to know about them. Yes, he drinks, yes, he gets drunks, but was OBJ not a useless womaniser who slept with his son's wife? Did Yar Adua not spend more time in hospital treating ailments than the time he spent ruling Naija? Did we insult the other presidents the way some folks r insulting GEJ?

Whether you like it or not, GEJ will rule till 2019. If you don't like it, too bad. GEJ ascension to power was divine. Like it or not, there is a reason for that. Personally, i know the nation can do better but when it comes to the game of power and politics, the best person for the job, might not even be in contention for the position.

I have read enough posts in the last few months and am surprised that some folks think if they keep up the bashing, he won't contest in 2015. Its aint working. and the BH boys r only making things work against the interest of the so called elites from the north who think its their right to rule. Come 2027, a middle belter will take over from an Igbo man(I aint Igbo either, aint delta, not SS or SE,so don't think I am canvassing for my tribe).

If we all work together with the president, maybe the work of eliminating BH can move faster. After all, the Great America has being fighting AL Qaeda since the 1980s and yet, they have defeated Al qaeda, so how can folks here be acting simple minded by thinking its a walk in the park to defeat terrorists, who have the active support of elites in the society they operate in. Maybe we should ask why BH only operates in the certain parts of the north. Why aint BH in the SW or SS or SE or even middle belt? Why is it only the Hausa-Fulani/Kanuri dominated part of the north that they operate fully in(the Kanuris are fully on the side of their traditional enemies [the hausa-fulani] in this guerilla warfare).

Let me pause and hope that folks will have a rethink. I doubt this but evil reigns when good people standby and watch evil people do evil things. I've had enough of all the silly talks about GEJ. Lets bring out credible opponents to GEJ and see if the people wont vote for such a person. Until we do that, NL warfare aint gonna change anything.
I have just one question for u. Was it boko haram that asked GEJ to budget N1B for his food even while in the middle of removing fuel subsidy? Pls answer straight to the point. No derailing
