BusinessRe: Are Nigerian Banks Sick? by SweetT1: 8:56am On Mar 13, 2009
get eduacted: A minimum balance means you can only open the account with N10,000 but you can draw the account to the last kobo, for civil servants what they have is a salary account. Meaning the civil servant can open with any amount and draw same account to the last kobo. haba haba big bros lets not misinform the public state it correctly and clearly

So the college students that does not have up to 10k cannot bank with intercontinental. Do you know how many college students that is?? No matter how you look at it, is a very poor business idea.

Well,Dear Sweet T,

I really want you to get more than enough information before you take any finacial decision.

I have no close relationship with intercontinental bank, but I have information
Thank you oga, i bank with wells fargo and FBN. was it not your boss Soludo that said the global crisis will not affect Nigeria?? Now see, what's happening. You guys @ CBN have some more homeworks to do. Thank you for your information, you can share it with your boss Soludo in his yeye office. OLE.

@picazy

Keep laughing, i wish Nigerian banks well but you have got to wonder who the hell is making decisions for these banks?? Distress or no distress, what kind of bank increases their min. saving account deposits in an econonmy like Nigeria?? when most civil servants don't earn but N25,000 a month and that is even if they are paid on time. with a decision like that, distress is just a door step away. Keep laughing ok! that smirk will be wiped off your face when intercontinental finally realize how many people has closed their account in the last few days. The so called politicians money they depend on is drastically reduced too, remember crude oil is now like $40.00/barrel as oppose $140.00 last year. yeye people.
BusinessRe: Best Bank In Nigeria by SweetT1: 8:03am On Mar 13, 2009
You know Nigerian banking system is in trouble when First bank is at the top of anybody's list. Just last year, first bank was near the bottom. Na wa oo.

OVIABOY:
Guys should be as sincere to the innocent public as possible.

our comments could be determinant to some poeple's decisions.

Intercontinental bank is very healthy as far as CBN could report.The bank is paying salaries,upfront payment,building schools and hostel for universities.Their manager's cheques are never returned for account fundings,and the bank was even able to pay back about $160m (over 20billion Naira) on obligation that is not due yet.

How else do you rate a bankhuh?

I do not want to make commentb on ther banks here because I still need to be professional.

I love you all , stay with intercontinental for now, when the story changess I will let you know.
i smell trouble. We've seen this before during Babangida's regime. The banks seems to be making loud PR noises when they are in trouble. I wish honest Nigerian banks well. I hope things does not get out of hand. This OVIABOY must be in intercontinetal PR department. I think the bank realized their mistakes when they saw massive closure of accounts by customers and therefore begins a desperate public relation. Oga ooo

JJYOU:
in your rich and wise brain people and institutions are solid because has been around for a while or longevity. you are very clever. it didnt occur to you that banks like first bank,UBA, Union bank were all majority govt owned and propped up for years. so what is your point?. almost all the 3 will collapse immediately without govt patronage
I guess this guy works for intercontinental bank. So Zenith and intercontinental banks don't get get deposits from politicianshuh where do you think all the stolen money from the politicians end up? Kalu, Ibori e.t.c patronize these kalo kalo banks.
BusinessRe: Intercontinental Bank Has Become Useless by SweetT1: 1:24pm On Mar 10, 2009
JJYOU:
MR KNOW IT ALL, FACT IS THERE IS NO STRONG SOLVENT BANK IN NAIJA. THEY ARE FIGURES COOKING INSTITUTIONS. i worked in the system far back as the 1980's basically it was one massive conhouse accepting deposits and fraudulent accounts for facilities they know are dodgy.

the returns the banks file into CBN in naija are the lies.
This JJYOU guy must be an ignoramous. You don't get it do you? Nigeria's economy has been destroyed for a long time. We know there are no strong banks in naija but some are stronger than the other. The banks like first bank,UBA, Union bank e.t.c that has been around for a while. They have survived the good times and the bad times are the ones that we need. they have some degree of steadiness in their hands. Not the get-rich quick banks like intercontinental.

RomanceRe: My Boyfriend Gave Me Staphylococcus by SweetT1: 2:49pm On Mar 01, 2009
WOW, Nigerians never cease to amaze me!!! They've had experience in just about everything even stds. But seriously, i doubt she got staph infection but it's not impossible. I suggest she get a second opinion from another doctor. I pray that it is not staph because staph can be deadly and the bacteria never leaves the blood stream. It's one of the most stubborn bacterias out there. It is very rare that people get staph infection in there private parts, especially women. Imagine a staph infection in the vagina, hew that is very bad.

@Poster

A word is enough for the wise, you have got to be very careful about your lifestyles. Why are you having sex without a condom?? In this crazy age we are in. It doesn't matter what a guy claim to be, tell him to get a condom. PERIOD !!

Bro'. Let her go. If you gave her a good love (which sounds like you did) let her go. congratulate her and move on, don't let her win by getting depress. Find your own woman, find a woman who knows the color of love and not dollars. It's her loss, more money will come your way if you find a woman that supports and love you regardless of the negatives. It might be a blessing in disguise that she is outa your life. Pray for her husband that he never runs out of money or here she goes again.
PoliticsRe: Violence Erupts In Ekiti Again by SweetT1: 12:46pm On Feb 02, 2009
@Poster

It's in the DNA of anybody from Ekiti state and Ondo state to be violent or stubborn. Atleast liable to be one of those. To back my theory, Just open any Nigerian newspapers and if you see mass violence or unrest it is most likely to be Ekiti people or the Hausas. And we know the Hausas have an excuse, they are dripping with illiteracy. Ekiti people are smart but the smartness go deep into their brain and cause violence, more like a person smoking marijuana. If you agree with an Ekiti man, he will argue to disagree with you for agreeing with him. Can you imagine that?
PoliticsRe: Violence Erupts In Ekiti Again by SweetT1: 4:49am On Feb 02, 2009
I don't know why anybody is surprised about this. Ekiti people have always known to be strong-headed. They fight and argue about everything and anything. This is no news, it's just a reflection of who the are. Awon Omo Alagidi.
Your husband never know you up to now.He does not trust you.
Does he know your girlfriend the time both of you met eachother?

Does it means,that you have to quit every girlfriend which is not married?

Can you also forbid him not to go out with his unmarried friends.

This is what i hate in men.Telling you to forget about your best friend,because now you are a married woman.

If you really want to cheat,you can also do it,when you go alone to the supermarket,without your girlfriend.

If you love your husband,nobody can decieve you.

Sit down with your husband and talk to him.If he does not understand your feelings,he does not want you to be happy.
@Poster

Please do not listen to advise like these one. If trouble dey sleep, why you go wake am up. Why inviting temptation back into your life? It seems like you use to go clubbing with this your friend. And if you allow your friend tempt you back into your old ways then the fault is on you. It is wise to avoid something that can lead you astray. Your husband is not asking for too much, listen to him if you want a happy home.
FamilyRe: Please Tell Me How To Make My Marriage A Happy One by SweetT1: 3:37pm On Jan 25, 2009
Just 2 months? What kind of man brings his friend to come and stay with him and his new wife just 2 months after marriage? I'm a man, and i must say that the behavior of Nigerian men worries me a lot. They act like idiots at times. They have their priorities upside down. But some of our women are not helping matters either, they are so busy fronting and pretending about their feelings. Poster, be true to your feelings. Feed your husband then call him and open your heart to him. Let him know exactly what his bothering you. Quit any form of pretension and fake acts, let him know where you stand. Not by being rebellious but with love. Goodluck. You must see to it that that freeloading friend of his must leave your house! A shameless friend !

SeanT21:
U soud like a woman that surrender to her man~~You better stop it!! embarassed
And please dont listen to advise like these ones. This another Nigerian woman that is taking the western culture to the extreme. Listening and understanding your husband is not called Surrender, it is called compromise for the good of both the husband and wife.
