i just read your article and browsed your pages and all i can say is

WELL SAID, but may i ask you a few questions?

I mentioned sometime that i and over 400 staff of a certain construction company here in Nigeria, happen to have been registered as voters
about a month or two ago on our construction site which is quite far away from the main town.
However i sensed something funny about the whole excercise

1. We were all registered as civil servants, a fact that was hidden from most people apart from union exco members

2. Our ages and other particulars were considerd irelevant, i guess the rest was filled from their own imaginations.

3. Tilll today a week to the election, the officers are yet to return, or bring our voters cards to us as promised, knowing that being very busy we would not be chanced to seek them out.

Also im sure you have heard of the scandal of certain cheif tains of a strong /popular party keeping quite a number of registration materials in their homes.

Now my questions,
1. From your expertise what do you suggest is happening to our voters cards till now?
2. Why were they not interested in filling out our actual particulars?
3. Why Do the Chieftains keep those materials, how did they get them? since INEC is supposedto be an unbiased, "INDEPENDENT" commission

Unfortunately, this strongest party controls the state we're working & has most of the workers union exco members in check. My company being an European firm is loyal to the party giving it big contracts. The Coy pays over 15,000 Nigerians, 80% of which are semi/ illiterate labourers who do as they are told for their own sake. there are many other coys like that in Nigeria today mind you. with your level of intelligence im sure you catch my point.*

with all these said, i think u guys should do more case studies on how pple rig the elections, or force the Govt on others even b4 it's started, i just wonder how u gonna do that from LONDON. Its deeper than u think.
