when u've got a reason 4 loving someone, its not unconditional, what if he gets weak, disabled, ugly from a disfiguring accident (fire, acid), cant perform anymore (in bed) 4 some resons, acquires a terminal disease, becomes broke, loses his means of livelihood or is degraded amongst fellow men. i submitted my application last week but there was no document showing that i made any accomodation arrangments with the school,but i submitted a cousins letter of support and mortgage statment,page of passport showing residence permit,his house is in london,while my school is in scotland.hope that won't be used against me.although i submitted an email showing i had 20%scholarship,and letter of sponsorship from my company.

The BHC is not particular about u having an accommodation ready waiting 4 u in d UK. They only require a letter from the school informing u about readily available accommodation to intl. students, Hence they are aware that u have weighed the accommodation option and know the cost so u can understand where your funds (living costs) or your sponsors money will be directed to. If the school didnt give one to u , u could simply ask them stating the fact that it is a visa applicatn requirement.

I went to the vfs to collect my passport on the 17th working day but was told that it wasnt ready yet. They gave me a number to call to determine the progress of my application. No calls for interview or to my sponsor. Now im totally confused . What r these guys up to?

Be paitient, from what u might have read on this thread if u hav been following, some guys got their replies later than even 20 working days, although standard time should have been 14. i got mine less than that. u might or might not be called 4 d interview but still keep ur fingers crossed they will soon call u, even those who get denied are called

Hi there, sorry ive been unable 2 reply u 4 sometyme now, i just moved over 2 the UK and am just getting settled.
Well as per ur questions i did a little research and hope these will satisfy u. according to the questions asked

1. Yes in some ways it can, (positively) -Having stayed in the Uk for some years it is expected that u might still have some of ur previous contacts which makes it easier to adapt to life in the UK provided they are still available 4 u.
Also (negatively) it might affect u based on the way u lived and left the uk, this could be quite unfavourable if u were deported or had a bad record whilst there such as criminal or terrorists activities etc, in any case Since u were a minor then its very unlikely that your previous stay affects ur current application as u were then unnacountable for any acts.


2.The BHC can understand the fact that u might not be able to provide ur previous passport and are not expected to hold it against u.
Based on ur situation it is very likely u be called for an interview, there u can explain these facts to them it is likely that they even posses some information on you based on your earlier education there as well as your health insurance records of those years accessible to them.
However The BHC will base your new application on ur current status and documents u have provided, the previous stay will only help to show ur easy adaptability to the environment and people based on past experience. Hence they are not likely to hold it against u.

3. When u are called up 4 the interview which i believe u will be, honestly explain this facts to them (if they inquire) .However the Biometric system in question is likely to affect people with cases from the mid to late 90s till date, since your case was in the 80s you are not likely to be untraced by the new biometrics.

I am a Nigerian graduate of Architecture with almost two years post graduate working experience in the Construction industry. Ive worked with a multinational coy. in Nigeria on the construction of an international Airport , where i served as a technical design supports officer.I had to resign this week so that i might proceed with my MSc programme. im very profficient in CAD and a list of other softwares needed for this.

I got my Visa to study Contruction project Management in Aberdeen, scotland Uk where i'll be by next weekend. While studying, i would like to work on a part time basis in any of the afore-mentioned industries based on my student status,which will allow me 20hrs working a week.

I'm not used to sitting around lazily all day, plus i intend to gather as much experience as i can on the UK building/construction industry which will be more useful in building my carrer rather than doing menial jobs.

Well i just thought since u might be shy, ill do u a favour and give u a list of important documents required to make a successful application, if yo have  no idea.
Here they are

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR STANDARD UK STUDENT VISA APPLICATION

1. Sponsors Documents
a. Letter from employer
b. Sworn affidavidt of declaration stating relationship, and sponsorship intention
c. Sponsors Pay slips
d. bank statements
e. Property deeds/ investment statements
f.  Letter from sponsor about sponsorship intentions
g. Letter of invitation (if applicant intends to live with sponsor based abroad)
h. utility Bills
i. Tax clearance cert.
j. Copies of i.d card / int passport
k. Business registration documents (if in business) other proofs of business e.g Recipts, invoices, way bill etc.


2. Applicants Documents
a. Letter from employer (if employed)
b. pay slips                 (if empoyed)
c. Tax clearance Cert. (if employed or in business)
d. Affidavidt of declaration of intention
e. letter of identification by former institution (if a fresh graduate)
f. identity card
g. Bank statement
h.Birth certificate

3. Study in Uk Documents
a. Acceptance letter / unconditional admission offer from school in UK
b. Letter from school on accommodation
c. All previous school certificates or statement of results till date
e. tenament agreement for proposed accommodation (if self sourced)

4. GENERAL
a. completed current VF application form
b. Well completedStudent questionaire form (for students only)
c Valid International passport
c. Passport photograph to meet required standard stated on VF form

Any other relevant documents e.g  receipts of fees paid, Recomendation letters, honorary Certificates of achievements etc.

it is not compulsery that all documents specified above are provided but from my experience the more information about yourself you are able to provide the more convincing you appear to them which makes it easier to make their decision.

Also, all original copies must be supplied for the essential personal documents in the case of the absence submit photocopies/ scans but ensure u write where original copies are and sign (e.g original copy in possesion of university of, ) Sign

Any documents that might be incriminating or contradictory is better not included.

For English language qualification,

1.Refer to the letter of acceptance which will state your English language proficiency based on your sent transcripts as a requirement for them accepting u.
2. State the fact that you fulfiled English language requirements for BSc course in Nigerian Universities/ Polytechnics i.e GNS, GST, LGE etc, as well as SSCE .

I have all my visa documents and i would be applying on Wednesday morning, and i am s'psed to resume on 17th September.

I am trusting God for a speedy process, and eventually a positive answer. But what i want to know is that must they call you for an interview, or your application would just be sent back to the VAC either refused or granted, as in is it only when it would be granted that they call for interview, or if they send it back to you without an interview, it means it has been refused?

Please i need experienced answers.

As i have mentioned earlier, well im not sure if it was on this thread, Not all applicants are required to appear for an interview. If you satisfy them enough with your paper documentation you might just go down to the VF centre to collect your passport. Interviews are called 4 in some special cases when they need clarification on some aspects of your documentation or desire to meet u in person to ascertain the fact that u are truely proficient in english especially if u dont have any english test taken like ielts or  tofel . It might also be to evaluate u if u are truely a genuine and competent intending student, this enables them make a swift decision.
BE aware of the fact that only a little percentage will be invited for an interview and quite a number uninterviewd are equally granted VISAs.

I hope to get an unconditional offer within this week after satisfying the school's conditions as indicated on the conditional offer, which are 3; evidence of satisfactory finance, english language proficiency, and proof of first degree. It is a top Uk school infact in the top 10 worldwide. It does not require initial deposits nor any other payment until I am issued an invoice which is not even due until after resumption. Having met other conditions the BHC requires, I hope I won't be refused base on non-payment since the school does not expect me to pay yet? Please I need kind and honest opinions so that I can adjust as appropriate. I am due to apply last week of August and school will start last week of September.

An unconditional offer states clearly to the Visa authorities that u have satisfied all the salient conditions for admission into their institution. The Visa authotities have no right to enforce you to pay any deposit fees except the school so demands. All they have to do now is to scrutinise you and your documents to ensure they are genuine.They may interview you to ascertain if u are as competent as the school sees you .Mind u there is no section in the VF checklist that requests for proof of payment, people only include them to heighten their chances, yet ive seen dozens of full fee payers denied and an equal number of non-fee payers issued VISAS. Do you know that the new biometric system is being used to track down people who aquired new passports because they were denied a visa on their former ones.
If u have been denied a visa before, here is an advice, use the old passport for your appeal, it is safer. if u get a new one and apply as another person, the Biometrics will be used to identify u and u might never be given another opportunity again. i just got this information from a lawyer friend of mine who was battling one one such cases. The new UK visa offices have direct links to all Nigerian Passport issuing offices and are able to detect multiple identity individuals. Just for your advice

Effect on the stock? yes, I finally got the answer this morning going to work and listening to AM 570-Wall street Journal radio. Nigeria was specifically mentioned in the scheme of things and how some of the brokers here in the states are looking forward to helping investors buying stocks in the volatile developing economy. The main thing is they screaming is - The return is great.

The upside is that lot of money is going to be invested in the economy. Not in developmental terms but in growth. Stock is going to jump up as crazy.

The downside, those freaking investors are just financial investors and will speculate like crazy to get the stocks as high as possible. Then, the big bang will happen. They will take out their money to go invest in another sucker economy. While crashing the stock market. Another thing is, we will not be insulated from the global market downside again.

Guys not all investments are good. some are predatory!

This currency change will actually better reveal (not change) the true poverty stricken conditions in Nigeria in the League of Nations.
What I mean is if the average Nigerian graduate earns about N4800, a year when compared to other nations outside, take the Uk for instance where the currency will still be much stronger than ours. Minimum wage earners earn as much as E18,000 (pounds not Euro) a year, while Graduates do a lot better than that.

I wonder how much our multinationals will be willing to pay expatriate personnel in Naira equivalent.

If u are by chance called 4 an interveiw, make sure u go with the originals and when the official asks if u have any additional documents to add, Give them the originals 4 sighting, and explain honestly why you didnt submit them alongside ur application innitially. OK!

1. True, i realise that most people that get denied apply quite close to the start off date of their course, wheras they got accepted by the school quite long ago
2. Another fact is that most time if your sponsor is not a close family relative like a brother, uncle, father/ mother, some suspicion might arise
Mind u an uncle can prove so by his sur name,  (which should be urs, or ur mums madien name or change of name docs.) if he has any

3. One other main fact ive come to realise is that if your sponsor has too many dependents, yet his annual income is not really that much
they tend to believe he/she would be incapable of funding u , as a lot of others are on his list of responsibilities. stagnant  or miraculously appearing funds do not impress them, your bank statement should show continous transactions based on your business income sources.

4. Property deeds are mostly neglected by applicants but unknown to them these are some of the strongest ties that prove you will return back to your   
   country after studies
