The igbos's have always been an independent minded people and it has been a great source of their exceptionalism. In the colonail days indirect rule was very easy in the north and west due to their centralized system of governance but it was impossible in the east because the igbos's had an established fedral system miles ahead of their fellow nigerians. So rather than ridicle their division, see it as a strength that has brought them thus far and don't think for a minute that their division will cause them not to one day produce a president. Cause when it comes to the big, important stuffs, the igbo's come together!!!!! And they will. |
And what's wrong with what beyonce did? Was'nt it still her voice? Did she use stereo or enhancer to prop her voice? This is an insane outrage. Many musicians do it. Even "withney houston" with her powerfull voice did it at the superbowl. So you guys should just backoff. |
I know rand paul is a lunatic!! But i don't think his lunacy has reached this level...the man is drowning in racial hate and conspiracy theories, can you imagine him asking sec. Clinton if obama is secretly selling weapons to turkey. He is a an and all but i don't think it has reached this level. |
Apparently this frenchise are'nt learning from their counterpart oil companies who have moved to port harcourt. There is better security, low tax rate, better access to their facilities and host communities. LNG has moved, and others are following suit and it's prooving to be most productive!! But the idea that the capital is now unsafe is really troubling. The capital of any nation should be it's most secure. |
eGuerrilla: So because Kennedy's illness was shrouded in mystery some 50 years ago, it is perfectly okay to foist the same cloak of secrecy on the electorate in Enugu state (2013)?if it is secret will you and i be discussing about it now? If it is such a grave secret will his fellow governours pay a well publicied visit to his hospital in london? How ghastly of you!! |
GARRI (x7):kennedy went for a state visit to canada and was asked to take part in a tree planting ceremony in rideau hall by the governour-general and to show u how sick he was, just by bending and using a shovel, JFK returned to washington on a streacher and was out of view for sometime. The white house lied. And kennedy during the cuban missle crisis was humped up on a pain relief drug called benzodin which made him feel euphoric. This made him not to negociate with nikita kruzchev and if kruzchev did'nt sensibly back down their would have been a nuclear exchange between the soviet union and the u.s! So which is worse a governour who everyone knows is sick and who's decisions has no effect nationwide or the leader of the free world lying to the people about his health and also risking the greatest nuclear exchange in history. Who is the baseless one now? |
In as much as i don't want to insult the dead. But this man must have been claiming benefits and can't imagine coming home to toil for his daily bread. How sad!!! |
The nigerian version of airforce one is called "eagle one" it's a boening jet. It's not really big. It has modest furnishing. Finally, i don't think with all the problems in this country a luxury jumbo jet should be the least of our priyorities. |
Tafawa balewa was one of the most educated nigeria leaders. This is man made me proud to be a nigerian during his u.s state visit. He examplified when nigeria was great and respected. He got a full state visit honour from pres. Kennedy including a state dinner. After which he made pres.kennedy fly over to newyork and he hosted a return state dinner at the waldrof astorian hotel. Everywhere he went, he was respected and and even honoured by the u.s association of journalist. Looking back at that state visit brings tear to my eye cause it just showed how far our country has fallen since then. |
This should be the official presidential portrait. This pic is so opulent. Remind me of the hall of mirrors at the palace of versallies. |
Do padon my off point question but i'll like to know how i can start a thrend. Thank you!! |
GARRI (x7):john f. Kennedy was so sick as president that he needed to be injected and humped up on pills before he can get up from his bed and no american knew about this till years after his assasination!! It always feel good to blast nigeria, does'nt it? |
nagoma: You really want to help GEJ in the path of destruction he is heading with the country and with nobody to urge any caution. Buhari may never lead this country again but his concern sends shivers down the spine of these clueless tryrants and their never do well brigade. The silence of those people you mentioned is not a sign of patriotism. For evil to prevail, all that is needed is for the good men to remain silent.whatever your issue with goodluck jonathan is is your cup of coffee but he was elected by the nigerian people and does not need an outdated military general who brought to the end the second republic of this nation!! This man showed great comtempt for democracy and should have no buisness participating in it!!! |
What's the big deal? Why making lemonade out of lemons? New york is a city with a lot of traffic, so why would one use a car fight through traffic when the subway will just move you promptly? Everybody does it, even wall street guys. Goverment ministers and mps use the london tube. Maybe if this country is able to make this available then more "elites" will use it. |
miiraaj: Bross, no blame me na! Na wetin I de see your leaders de do! No south south leader comes out to call GEJ to order. Instead they see every other person not in support of GEJ as their enemy. Unfortunately, not just d leaders, but even some of the ordinary citizens Iv interacted with.i'm not from the south. But it offends me greatly why you would insult an entire region because of an outlair. And by the way how many people do you need blasting jonathan. Many has done so, even asari dokubor who once said he was ready to take up arms again if jonathan was'nt made president after yar adua's death. Has said he is a "disappiontment" and even dumped nigerian citizenship. What more do you need? Jonathan's head on a stick? |
take dat: You guys keep exposing the weakness of the president. Firstly, GEJ was an integral part of Yaradua's presidency. He indeed knows how the monies were filtered away including the ones pillaged in his administration. Secondly, if OBJ had plundered the nations wealth during his administration, GEJ now has the executive powers to bring him to book.how many former leaders of this country since it's inception has been prosecuted by their successor or the state? You expect a vice president who was virtually a figurehead. Disrespected by the president and every cabinet member, who did'nt see his boss and predesessor during his sickness which led to his demise to know the inner workings of yar adua and his cronies? |
blacksta: Another dumb responsebloody plonker...i'm anticipating your most luminated response. Rubbish!! |
Afam4eva: It has never been about promoting our culture but about promoting the cultures of the carribean islands. Now, they're now promoting the culture of sodom and gomorra. The calabar carnival, the port-hacourt carnival and the Lagos carnival are a shame.hey!! Caniriv is different!! Before you talk, try and attend. Caniriv is a display of rivers culture and heritage, there is no nudity or colourfull prevolities that is why people deem it boring. There are masquerade displays, gig paddling(ancient boating of the riverine people) and many others. So don't generalize your premise!! |
Go to kastina state and ask yar adua in his grave what he did with it. Madarm transperancy. Why are you no probing the administration of your former boss, olusegun obasanjo and all the theft that blossomed there? You were part of the system but now you're out you think you can probe it? |
Why can't all these former heads of state just fade into the background like shehu shagarri, abdusalami abubakar and yakubu gowon are doing. You all belong to an era of this country long gone, that laid the foudation for the disfuctional state we have today. Let this country move forward please. |
Jerie: Although the review panel was described as “independent” its board members were appointed by the Secretary of State and the Director for National Intelligence. CNN indicated that such reports are mandated by Congress when U.S. government employees are killed overseas. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton accepted the panel’s findings and vowed to implement all 29 of its recommendations.i did'nt need a lecture from you on review board i know all about but in the mist of your "elaboarate" write up you forgot to answer the questions i brought up. What happened to all the money previously channeled there? Who has to loose their job? Ways to make sure the college does'nt fall back to ruins after it's rebuilding. Etc. Are'nt this legitimate findings and since you like using american examples i have you know commitee are set up to oversee renovation of capitol hill, comittee to oversee capitol hill bars and canteens. |
That sewage processing facility she calls a mouth is now flapping because she has been kicked out of aso rock!! Shut up ma'am!!! |
This luminates a broader point of how shambolic our fedralism is!! Stae govournors see themeselves a lords over their fellow elected local government chairmen. They sack them at will and control their budget. It's wrong. In rivers state, bonny island is the oil capital of nigeria home to the largest lng plant in africa, bonny oil terminal, etc. But the current governour has just ignored the island, i don't know what he has against them but the island through it's "local government" has also ignored the stae amd used it's opportunity well. Today bonny island is the only place in nigeria with uninterrupted power supply. Good roads, and other nice things. The national assembly needs to address this. |
This seems like an headline one reads in the 20th century!! A city like abeaokuta is having it's first "fly over" in 2013...wow!! One is stunned. |
miiraaj: Are all south south people clueless?you're a bloody plonker for that most outrageous and disgusting question!! Why would you insult an entire region of people because of one outlair? I hope you realise how inappopraite that was. |
Apparently chief clarke don't know what the constitution is. The president cannot ban the governours forum just as he cannot sack a governour, this is a federal republic and state soverignty is at it's core. Think chief..think!! |
Meanwhile in nigeria most teens want to be musicians...an educational career is taking a back seat to ghastly music!! We really need to address this perception "some" teens are learning and are actually seeing of "some" artiste droping out from school to do music and make money. It makes "some" teens ask themeselves why they have to go to school..i'm not saying this is rampant but it's there and creeping futher. |
Jerie: Why don't you string together yor words in defence of GEJ and get your likes?what happened to all previous allocations channeled to this school, full accountability of allocation recieved and spent on the school, official responsible for the state of the school and appopraite punishment. Are'nt these findings that needs to be put together and executed before more money is poured in which might disappear? In civilied societies this os how things are done, when four american died in bengazi, libya last year. An accountability review commitee was set up to look into it and their findings is the manual the u.s government is using to piece together the situation. So this critisim is shallow minded and frankly petty!! |
ROSSIKE: They HAVE got money to spend. Wait till the mall opens and see if you'll find parking space there.do malls take a backseat to basic aminities like water and roads? You claim that when it's built there will be no parking space, i refer you to tinapa in calabar and ibom tropicana in uyo and see what is becoming of it. This governour should get his priority right, he can create more and better jobs through road construction, tackling erosion and providing water for it's people. When last did the governments of lagos and rivers state build malls? ![]() |
AnitaMandy: Everyone knows that Anambra is not a poor state and Anambrians are not poor either, so what exactly is your point? As for using stream water Anambra is not the only state that the villagers does so. Where i served in Ekiti state the villagers use the stream for everything, they will wash, drink and swim in it.so because it happens in other places, the government should allow people to continue living as their ancestors did? And if anambra is a rich state where people are willing to spend money, the government does'nt need to build malls, they'll troop in like they're doing in lagos, port harcourt and abuja. |
A generation of Baby boomers!! |
And if he had immediately released funds running into the billions and ordered a full overhaul of the college. All you armchair experts will start railing on how wastefull and corrupt this government is. It's very easy to put together strongs words that make no sense and jab the president so you'll get multiple "likes"...it's another thing to exude common sense. |
