Be carefull what you do in front of children. No matter how harmless. Stuff like loading the washing machine, putting something in the oven or microwave, putting on the cooker,etc...had a terrible experience with my nephew lately. Be warned. When you're doing something and a toodler is watching with interest, stop immediately or carry them away. Be careful. |
hazekctravels: My brother I agree wit u. The aim of dis thread is not to condemn dis project, but let people know dat the thread on test running was a scam and was far from being real. So dont get it twisted. .understood. I'm just illuminating a myopic few here calling it a "white elephant project". |
The city of london started blowing up the earth for their famous tube system at a time when people were emptying their chamber pots on the streets from their room upstairs, horses were defeacating on the streets, the thames was poluted to the point parliament had to shut it's windows indefinitely...I wonder if it was called a "white elephant project" then. Today how will traffic be in the city of london without the tube? Same with london. |
rolchi: Ok...we noted. Lets hope the next government will continue up-til Garrison, Rumuola and Artillery, Eleme Junction, Obigbo. We just pray!don't pray!! Hold them accountable for it. It's your right!!! |
ntebong: For many people that reside outside Rivers State, they may not fully comprehend the fraud call monorail, this a white elephant project, i liken it to building a bridge in the desert. All the peoples involved in this project must account for it. This is the most wasteful project ever any state Gov has embarked upon, the money spent on this white elephant project is enough to fix so many road in PH. Everything regarding this project is wrong, pillars are constructed so close to the main road making it impossible to expand the road in the future. The cost of the project is enough to fix many roads and others infrastructure competing for attention . Incoming administration may distance itself from this project.look at port harcourt traffic today and tell me if this city can survive or grow without a viable mass transit system. Ignorant people will never learn. Lagos never had the foresight to build a good mass transist system, today it's a traffic dumb. How many roads does lagos have? How many lanes? Has that stopped traffic? And people will see a growing city like port harcourt which less land to build mighty roads like lagos and say it does'nt need to plan for the future. Funny!! |
EMEKA1MILLION: the traffic on this road lasts less than 5mins tops so Wat is the use of this mono railthis is the starting point of the project, it is projected to run into aba road to waterlines, rumuola, etc...in five years from now, rather than enter taxi and bus that chock aba road. A single train can transport over 100 people from waterlines to lagos bus stop. That's planning and forward thinking. |
Some nigerians are just dumb skulls!! If a monorail or any sensible mass transist system was launched in lagos in the 80's and subsequent governments chipped in, would lagos be the traffic mess and metropolitan disgrace that it is today? A growing city and planning for it's future and some partisan and intellectual hacks are here vomiting trash. |
hazekctravels: who ever posted that monorail test running shit on fp was a joker.. 4km monorail and over 100billion has been spent!dullard! Where did you get that 100 billion number from or you just throw out whatever that stuff upstairs you call brain produce. |
Nkemtreasure: Bross I hail o. The mono rail and it's cost isn't what we need now. Have heard of this over hyped project until I visited it. I was most disappointed not because of the project, but because of its location. If its aim is to ease traffic, then that's not the hub of traffic or even among the first 5th places.there is a reason the train started at lagos bus stop. That's because that is the location of the central office and it is the start of port harcourts buisness district. The plan is it will run from lagos bus stop to UTC, UTC to waterlines, waterlines to rumuola, rumuola to airforce,etc... Up to obigbo. Surely this project will not be completed in one day. 100 years after the new york subway was built, work crews are still blowing up the earth in manhattan to create new routes. We just need the next government and government after to remain committed. I address the reason for the high price. The RSG's partner pulled out leaving the government to complete the first phase alone. Monorails are expensive. Considering the epileptic state of power supply in nigeria, it has to provide it's own power. We don't need monorail now? When we will need it? Years later when million more cars enter port harcourt and traffic becomes hell? Take a look at port harcourt's traffic today and imagine what it will be in future without good mass transit system. It will just strangle whatever economic growth that was suppose to happen in the city. Start today. Step by step, we'll get there and you'll look back and say were will we be if this was'nt there. |
noblezone: Sincere apologies for being dumb sir!the miami, new york, etc monorail is still a working progress decades as it is still being extended to new parts of the city to enhance travel. The p.h monorail would have gone past UTC but the chinese company who partnered with the RSG to fund the project pulled out leaving the government to finish the first phase on it's own and as a govt. With many other responsibilities, this is the much they can afford. It is up to the next govt. To seek new partnerships that will hasten the project. The call to start a subway in lagos was called a "white elephant project" in the 80's. Today lagos is a traffic mess and one of the most populated cities on earth with worse mass transit system. People who have foresight know port harcourt is going that route and they won't call this a white elephant project. |
Isreal is a idiotic blood sucking country and to you fools here saying Israel has no choice and that hamas is using civilians as human shield. When palestinian terrorists attacked isreali athletes at the munich olympics, also killed some isreali's in isreal. They fled to europe and started living in cities. Isreal hunted all of them down and assassinated them by gun with no collateral damage. Why did'nt they drop bombs on european cities, kill european citizens and call it "collateral damage" but because the know no one is behind the palestinians and their lives are worthless. They can kill them and brush it off. RUBBISH COUNTRY!!!! |
Why are some people so dumb? Go and study monorails and cities of the world that have built it like miami, new york, etc... It took miami over 10 years... Most cities are still even expanding their's to other areas up till today. The port harcourt monorail runs from lagos bus stop to UTC at the moment. But what you lairs won't say is that their are about 2 power stations on that route along with two large offices, one at lagos bus stop field and the former sharks football stadium car park. It's up to the next government to have the brains to continue. If a monorail was started in lagos in the 80's or 90's and every government since then chipped in, where will it be today? Will lagos be the traffic mess that it is today? |
Houses of assemblies around nigeria are behaving like teens who just discovered masturbation. Something they had but never knoew what to use it for, tried it the first time. Feels so good!! Can't stop. |
skullz: Amaechi has succeeded in completing the shortest monorail in the history of mankind.....Station to UTC.........*Cheers*ignoramus!! Go and study monorails all around the world. It took some cities over 20 years to complete there's... Some are still undergoing expansion into other parts of the city decades later. It's up to the next governor to have the foresight to continue it. |
It took over 10 years to construct the miami monorail which is now one of the best in the world. Hopefully the next governor of rivers state will have the brains to continue this project. Nigerians are myopic loafers. If a monorail or subway system was started in lagos in the 80's or 90's...will lagos be the traffic disgrace and nightmare it is today? Won't lagos be a modern metropolis like Johannesburg? Ignorant myopism. |
It is amazing that over 50% of nigerians believe no girls were missing. Countless nigerians including some prominent once have called these poor men and women "paid agents" and other despicable names and the federal government has'nt done anything to correct the impression. |
I doubt this report. I don't think a smart man like fayemi will make a big fool out of himself. His party has bungled their response to the ekiti elections, he should retain whatever shred of dignity and integrity he still has left. The people pick thuggery over competence. Let them enjoy the consequences, step off the stage. |
Goodluck jonathan should be ashamed and every nigerian should be utterly embarrassed that it took a 17 years old foreigner from pakistan to make him meets with parents of the victims from the largest kidnapping case in the history of the nation he governs. It's repulsive!!! shame on you mr president, you are a monumental disappointment. |
She has been released and she boarded her flight to london. It's repulsive!!! shame on you mr president, you are a monumental disappointment. |
Evans bipi and his crew should remember chidi Lloyd is still the leader of the rivers state house of assembly and the new mace built after the old one was broken is pure "METAL".

Florida dad finds babysitter molesting his son, beats man to a bloody pulp, cops say DEBORAH HASTINGS Yesterday, 08:00 PM AP Raymond Frolander, shown in his Florida booking photo, was beaten unconscious by a father who walked in on Frolander sexually abusing his son. An enraged father in Florida attacked a babysitter and badly beat him after discovering the 18-year-old molesting his son, police said. According to authorities, Raymond Frolander was in bed with an 11-year-old boy when the dad walked in on him sexually assaulting the boy. The Daytona Beach father punched him unconscious and then called 911. “I just walked in and found a grown man molesting (my son), and I got him in a bloody puddle for you right now, officer,” he said. Dispatcher: “You said the person who assaulted, you beat him up?” Caller: “ Oh yeah, send him an ambulance. He’s going to need one.” The dad will not be charged, said Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood, according to WESH-TV. “Dad reacted like a dad,” Chitwood said. “He’s acting like a father, protecting his son, and he’s furious over what has occurred.” According to police, the man admitted to abusing the boy for three years. The child was too afraid to say anything, Chitwood said. Frolander appeared in court Friday with a bruised face and his eyes nearly swollen shut. He is being held without bail. "Yoruba" will smile after confab! Not nigeria will smile. I thought this conference was meant to reconcile nigeria and set us on a part of national unity going forward. Instead every delegate is pandering to their ethnic group and region. What a idiotic waste of money. How many families would have been lifted from poverty with the allowance of 5 million given to a single delegate? Grotesque nation!! |
in sane countries people contribute money for individuals to run for office and represented them, in nigeria, politicians pay people and give them bags of rice to vote for them. And you wonder why foreign politicians work for and are accountable to their people while nigerian politicians steal from and step on their people's heads. |
The PDP is a disease to this nation! A virus that has refused to die despite all the medication. It keeps shape shifting to secure the votes of each region to continue staying in power, they appeal directly to nigeria's ethnic and religious divisions to continue staying in power, it will take a resolute and tribally blind electorate to push them out, but atlas that will never happen in nigeria so I don't see this disease going anywhere soon. |
