Foreign AffairsRe: Anti-Zionist Jews Burning The Israeli Flag [PHOTO] by Symphony007: 10:32pm On Jul 11, 2014
Isreal is a disease. Three of their teens were killed by unknown terrorist and now hundreds of palestinian men, women and children are dead. So the life of an isreali is worth more than palestinians? Useless white supreamist nation, always hiding under holocaust to commit atrocities on others. Little by little, they are committing the same holocaust hitler inflicted on them on palestinians.

Shameless commander in chief!! Toasting with and drinking the blood of hundreds of innocent nigerians. God protect my family and I in this dysfunctional country because it's now every man for yourself, nobody is protecting or looking at for you.
PoliticsRe: Fashola: Ekiti Governorship Election Result Frightens Me by Symphony007: 10:39pm On Jun 27, 2014
The APC has thoroughly disgraced itself with it's handling of the ekiti gubernatorial election. Granted!!! The ekiti people voted popularity over competence, and they will suffer the consequences but by all standards the election was reasonably free and that's why fayemi, an otherwise distinguished man conceded defeat. But now he has allowed his party members to inflict their disease on him. This is embarrassing!! Fayemi held a TV address to the state conceding defeat and now is back tracking to the glare of everyone. It's a blow to his credibility and I'm sad he allowed his party associates do this to him.
PoliticsJonathans Great PDP Purge!!! by Symphony007(op): 9:35pm On Jan 10, 2014
If you are wondering why there is a strange sense of calm in the presidency during all the decamping by members of the PDP, well wonder no more cause I have a theory, you would think there would be great panic amongs the president, party leadership, etc as more and more members jump ship but so far the party has been calm.

The reason for this might be, while the media, political commentators and nigerians see the movement of some PDP members to the APC as decamping, jonathan sees it as a purge. Jonathan is purging out all the PDP members that has made his leadership of the party a head arch. This to him is an opportunity to remake a PDP in his own image, with likeminded and trusted followers that come 2015 he will present to nigerians as a brand new part. While the opposition who brandish themselves as a new alternative, progressives!!! Will present themselves to nigerians with all those old criminal faces who left PDP. How will the APC brandish itself as progressives with the regressive former PDP lot in their mist. This is a great possibility and I hope the APC is paying attention!!!
PoliticsJonathan Miscalculated By Asking Sanusi To Resign. by Symphony007(op):
As president to preserve the grandure and efficacy of your office and influence on others, you have to pick your fights carefully. Fights you know, you can win. Pres. Jonathan in asking for mr sanusi lamido's resignation did a massive miscalculation. It makes one wonder what his advisers are there for.

You do not need a rocket scientist to tell you that sanusi lamido sanusi will not resign the governorship of the central bank five months to the end of his term. Five months to the end of a very consequential governorship. A term that saw the most radical shake up of the nigerian banking sector ever. Five months to the end of a term that made sanusi lamido appear on the time's most influential people's list. Everybody will agree that sanusi lamido's term has been really monumental, the man impacted his nation and in doing so stepped on many toes. Who can forget when the national assembly almost lynched him for saying they consume 25% of the national budget. Sanusi lamido ushed nigeria's economy into a new era and got international recognition and awards for it.

And after that consequential term as governor of the central bank and only five months to go, the president asks sanusi to resign. Sanusi will never do that. Doing that will be catastrophic for him. It will be the equivalent of sanusi leaving office on crawling rather than with heads held high. The manner in which he lives office will evicirate his record and affect his future endervors. You do not expect a man who has built a sterling career in banking from the private to public sector to live office in disgrace because of a petty and unproven letter leaking allegation. The president whatever his feeling should have endured 5 months for sanusi to go and then pick whoever he wants to succeed him. But he picked a fight he won't wins as sanusi will never leave office crawling after his great service, rather, with head held high.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Jobberman's 2013 - 100 Best Companies To Work For In Nigeria. by Symphony007: 12:42pm On Jan 10, 2014
The best employer in nigeria is and will remain "POLITICS" you only need a school sat to run for political office in nigeria as opposed to be a graduate as all those companies listed above require. Your salary and perks is astronomical but it's not compared to the once you can steal. You also don't have a boss keeping an eye on you and looming sack for inefficiency. You don't have to wake early in the morning, beat traffic and sleep late at night. Fellow nigerians, don't be decieved. Our governnent is the best employer.
Nairaland GeneralNasa Releases Pic Of The "Hand Of God". by Symphony007(op): 11:18am On Jan 10, 2014
Nasa has captured a new image of a hand-shaped formation around a star that has been dubbed the "hand of God".

Scientists said it was a nebula - a cloud of gas - around a neutron star called PSR B1509-58, or B1509 for short.

Neutron stars are created when massive stars run out of fuel and collapse.

The star has collapsed so much, Nasa says it is only 12 miles across and incredibly dense.

When it collapsed, it also caused an explosion which cast gas and material out into space.

It revolves at seven times a second and in doing so it throws out huge amounts of sub-atomic particles in streams.

It is the interaction between the particles and the gas that, when photographed with a special camera, create the amazing image.

A previous image of the "hand" was captured in 2009 by Nasa's Chandra X-ray observatory - a telescope contained in a satellite which is able to see X-rays 100 times fainter than any detector on Earth.

The new image was taken by the agency's "black-hole hunting" Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array (NuStar) which is able to see even the highest energy X-rays.

Nasa says B1509 is 17,000 light years away.

It has an intense magnetic field at its surface, estimated to be 15 trillion times stronger than the Earth's magnetic field.

Nasa said: "NuStar's view is providing new clues to the puzzle.

"The hand actually shrinks in the NuStar image, looking more like a fist, as indicated by the blue colour.

"The northern region, where the fingers are located, shrinks more than the southern part, where a jet lies, implying the two areas are physically different."

It is thought the hand was initially nicknamed the "hand of God" because it bears similarities to a detail from Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel, dubbed The Hands Of God And Adam

Such a foul statement! If you claim ikwerre's are igbo, why don't you also say the ogoni's are akwa ibomites because they decend from them, or the delta igbo's and delta yoruba's. Rivers state is not independent union of various ethnicities and should not to affiliated with any insane biafran republic. Ikwerres are decendants of the ibo's but today they are rivers people and will. Never associate themselves with the igbos. The united states is a union of european decendants. So is it a european nation? Take not!!

She is angry and offended that channels makes her play second fiddle to chamberlin and sulieman, even though she considers herself better than them. When channels bought i-pads for the chamberlin and sulieman, they did'nt buy for her grin grin grin. So on the show you see the other guys with their i-pads and she just stands there with hands crossed in front. She is already in talks with other media houses to leave channels. Rumors has it she will be joining the soon to be opened nigeria info tv channel owned by cool fm and wazobia.
Foreign AffairsRe: British Prime Minister Drops Daughter Off At School (photo) by Symphony007: 7:17am On Jan 09, 2014
The british has always been very simple people. During their tenures I sometimes see john major and tony blair walking from downing street to westminster for prime ministers questions. I've also seen gordon brown and his wife walking down whitehall, gisting. Every country is not the same. Just as this will happen in the u.k, it can't happen in the u.s or russia. So if the nigerian security agencies believe a stunt like this is not in the best security interest of our president. Then we should accept it and stop comparing everything.
RomanceRe: Should I Betray My Friends To Save Them From Destroying Their Lives? by Symphony007: 12:01pm On Jan 08, 2014
Report them to their parents immediately. If those cold blooded murderers had made a decision to murder their child, then they should have mind their buuisness and done it on their own, telling you opened a can of worms and put you in a place you should'nt. Report them!! If you don't you are complacent and a full blown accessory to infacticide(child murder) and if that ghastly girl dies or complication arises, your friend won't hesitate to sell you out and you would be a disappiontment to your parents and might even be looking at jail time, now is that a sensible gamble to play with your life for a stuupid and promiscuous friend? You owe him and his foul girlfriend nothing, you owe that unborn baby a chance at life. What matters more to you? Loyalty to foolish, foul friends or the opportunity to save a life?

Futhermore, you are to break up your friendship with that your so called "bestfriend". A beast who wants to murder his first child on earth does'nt deserve the friendship or companionship of any warm blooded human being.

Obasanjo broke the rules of the president's club. Never berate your successor in public. What did he stand to gain from this open letter? Whatever issues he had, could'nt he have raised it with the president privately? How would he have felt if abdusalam abubakar or IBB wrote open letters like this doing his. Administration? He broke the rules!

you're spot on! That's all that channel is for, showing old olympics, commonwealth games,etc..it's so ridiculous. What stops them from having seasoned football analyst and showing current matches, even the nigerian local league. With good commentry, analysis, etc they might muster some nigerian interest in our local league. How many channels can afford a dedicated sports channels? Yet, NTA waste it's own.

Ayekotoo: why privatization? don't we have stations being managed by Nigerians? Take a look at Tajudeen Adepetu's stations suchas Soundcity, ONTV, you will be marveled at their display of professionalism. All NTA needs is competent hands and not politicians.
and such professionalism won't come to NTA while it is owned by the government. Corruption and favoritism over professionalism will always reign!

funny enough, muhammad abukardo is their flagship journalist, and this is a washed out old man, another one is their national assembly correspondent, bosedi adebayo The woman looks as if she is forced everyday to do her job! Her interviews with members of the national assembly are shambolic and you'll think for someone covering the national assembly for years, she'll know some of the members by name. Instead everyday, every interview she ask for name and forgets it mindway into the interview and start calling them "mr senator" or "mr honorable"

bigtt76: Hmmm ...if den say privatise now, we go begin hear noise of 'few people' go hijack am as we've been hearing about the refineries. Truth is government has no business running these things. They are nothing but sinkholes for government funds for very few people.
there is a big difference between privatizing refinaries and a national broadcaster. The former is more expensive and has more effect on the people, nobody will care if NTA is privatized.
PoliticsNTA Is A National Disgrace And Public Money Blackhole. by Symphony007(op):
The nigerian television authority(nta) is a disgrace to our nation. Considering all the money pumped into it, it has esceedingly poor programing, lack of creativity,etc...even their news set is a disgrace compared to that of AIT, channels,TVC or even STV. And does are private ventures who can only dream of the amount of government money NTA enjoys. NTA loves to cast itself an an african BBC, but unlike the NTA, the BBC has broken boundaries in every sphere of programing by employing talent and thinking big. Be it in news were they are the most popular news broadcaster in the world, entertainment were they have come up with great and global programs like merlin, top gear, the weakest link, cbbies, etc. In their attempt to immitate the BBC, NTA has created a series of channels. NTA news 24,NTA sports, NTA entertainment, NTA kids, NTA igbo, yoruba and hausa, etc but non of the channels have a single show or programing that interest a nigerian audience, talk less of foreign. If wale adenuga can come up with soaps like this life, super story, papa ajasco, etc, why can't NTA with their superior funding? NTA is just a blackhole for the nigerian people's money and I ask what should be done with it? Change managment or sell it off to private investors?

Below: news sets of NTA,AIT and TVC.

PoliticsRe: Senate Passes Bill To Ban Same Sex Marriage by Symphony007: 9:11pm On Jan 04, 2014
sbaks: So gay marriage is the most pressing issue and not insufficient power supply, lack of good roads and the corruption in the country? 'Na wa for your thinking o!' Please don't ever say good of any european country with a good economy since they have not given their citizens 'the most pressing need' banning same sex marriage. I DO NOT support the marriage for religious and Godly reasons, but I tell you that is not our most pressing need. I'm highly disappointed in the statement 'most pressing need' The senators themselves don't they indulge in it? I don't think any sane nigerian would have been discussing same sex marriage even though they've been practising the sex so why did they spring up the topic? Doesn't it say something to nigerians? Doesn't this tell nigerians that the senators may be EU's puppet trying to spring the issue so that when its banned, EU would Sanction us abi? Hasn't UK started theirs? (3000 pounds visa) my dear the senators are not saints themselves. So nigerians don't get over excited over this cause there may just be more to it. And for you thinking same sex marriage is our most pressing need, ponder over what I've just written and then ask your self this question 'is banning same sex marriage which doesn't exist our most pressing need? Thanks
do you know the meaning of sarcasm?
