President abraham lincoln visited his troops during the civil war and the generals were urging him to wear military uniform before he addressed the troops. And he said. "i am your commander in chief but i am not part of you. I represent the millions of civilian americans when i command you so how does it bode constitutionally if i dress like you? If i had serve in your distinguished ranks, i would have considered it but it's in bad taste to brandish this uniform great men have died for on me because i won an election"....enought said all. Jonathan and his defense minister better stop this banana republic mentality, generalissimo goodluck jonathan. |

HOW RIVERS STATE SPEAKER RT. HON. DAN AMACHREE WAS IMPEACHED The Rivers State lawmakers have impeached the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Rt Hon Dan Amachree . A new Speaker Hon Evans Bipi has been elected .However, the Speaker Dan Amacree denied on phone that he has been impeached .We gathered that immediately the speakers was impeached the Assembly complex broke into choas and staff fled as members fought and blows were exchanged. A group also attempted to collect the mace of the assembly while some staffs who fled claim Gov Ameachi himself stormed the house and took the mace. In an attempt to put a lid on the situation ,Leader of the house, Chidi Lyod has said via call that there was no impeachment but that there is heavy security at the complex, staffs have fled. Memwhile the Rivers State Commissioner of Information, Mrs Ibim Seminitari has called on channels TV to give the governors side of the story on the issue. She claimed that while the house was about to begin it’s sitting and the speaker was exchanging pleasantries with other members, the leader of the Pro GEJ lawmakers, Evans frustrated with their inability to Impeach the governor walked up to him and started slapping him, to which the speaker fought back and a massive fight erupted in the chamber between Pro Ameachi and Pro GEJ lawmakers. And then some hoodlums hired by the Pro GEJ group according to her jumped in from the gallery and joined the fight attempting to collect the mace. Upon hearing this from the government house which is a few blocks away from the assembly, the governour set off in his motorcade to the assembly with his security and when he arrived the fight intensified with Pro GEJ lawmakers throwing things at the governor. Cars were destroyed, their were injuries on both side. It does'nt give him the right to insult the army uniform by wearing it while he has never served. Obama is u.s commander in chief but can never wear military atire. Winston churchill served in the british army ith distiction and rejoined the army as prime minister during world war 2, when the british wear short of soildeirs. He famously wanted to join the D-day invasion but was stopped by king george vi. So he was perfectly qualified to wear the uniform. |

frankkky: legally speaking he has the full rights to wear it as the C-in-C and also The presido has always loved the miltary and uniforms so i guess that comes into play here but that doesnt take away the fact that we are in a democracy and the miltary takes orders from the civilan headshipgoodluck jonathan has no right to wear military atire. He was given the title of commander in chief by election. To wear that uniforms, to have those stars on their shoulder, to have those medals on their chest, men have died, lost limbs, saw hell. And it is an insult and unconstitutional for a lecturer who was elected president to play dress up with that most prestigeous uniform. |

Does'nt mr president have advisers. Were did he get this crazy idea of wearing military uniform in a democracy? A civilian commander in chief in civilain clothes being saluted and giving orders to the unifromed military is central in our constitution. He is not even an ex-service man like obj. Did yar adua ever wear military atire? Even north korea with all it's propagandar, the kims never wear miltary atire. |

Hello, recently i decided to rent an off camp apartment to stay in and incidentally my girlfriend too is looking for an apartment as she could'nt find hostel space. She is now on my neck, insisting that we add up our money, rent an apartment and live together. I am strongly against it because, i think it's just not right. We've never been intimate, i want it to stay that way but it will be next to impossible achieving that while staying together, plus if my parents find out i'm living with a girl, disappiontment will be a understatement for them, and if her parents find out, they'll tag me irresponsible. But all these arguement is'nt flying with my girl, she's readong some crazy undertones to my refusal like i want freedom to cheat. Rather my continous refusal is already cracking up the relationship and i can't bear a breakup. So please, what do you think? Am i overeacting by not going through with it? Or should i stick to my guns? |

Public buses that run on fuel or diesel don't last long, lagos should have imported the natural gas buses used in califonia. We flare gas in this country. Those buses have a ligespan of 30 years because gas is so clean. The engine will remain new. And watch your mouth. Everything built by the maeachi administration in rivers state has remain new and in good shape. The only exception being the bus stop shades which touts have destroyed. |

Thi is shocking.. And the stupid thing is that they know the problem but can't do anything about it. The state houses of assembly had better outlaw private jets for their governors. I don't know what governors need kets for, do they go on state visits? Or if that's too hard for them, the national assembly should pass a law subjecting governors private jets to security checks and the governors and their aids should pass through nomal security checks like ordinary nigerians.
