Kamsified:And I was waiting for her to come and expose Ubenedictus as the old school here. ![]() |
From Today's Gospel. “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel; for he has come to his people and set them free. He has raised up for us a mighty Savior, born of the house of his servant David. Through his prophets he promised of old that he would save us from our enemies, from the hands of all who hate us.He promised to show mercy to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant. This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham: to set us free from the hand of our enemies, free to worship him without fear, holy and righteous in his sight all the days of our life". LK 1:67-79 Am not saying a thing on this, I'm just gonna let you savor the rendition, as you go about today's frenzied preparations. May your travel, shopping, cleaning, cooking...and indeed all your activities of today; geared towards a splendid Christmas, be successfully accomplished to the glory of God. May His presence ever be by your side. Good morning brethren, a splendid day ahead to all. |
vooks:I'm sure if you search through my posts on NL you'll find what something to help you, but you've got to work, so search my posts, since your cant read your own fathers nor scripture, nothing on a platter of gold for you again. |
vooks:Not my fault if you "have eyes but cannot see". Jer.5:21 |
vooks:Why is your mind filled with lewd thoughts? |
vooks:That's not good enough vooks, you should read about them and not condemn such men as Satanists, since they are your fathers in Protestantism. You've not been Charitable with the ones I gave you so far, now Your fathers believed in this one, they have scriptural proof because they were sola scriptura chanters, so assignment for you, go and find out. When you show proof of effort, I will help you more. |
vooks:You see what I kept telling you, stop breaking my posts, both answers complement each other, I made no claim since I gave you a scriptural quote,I quoted Ezekiel 44:2. With regards to what the gate means, keep your mind pure so that the Holy spirit can guide you, and continue in that line of thought you're on, you'll get there....to the fullness of truth. |
vooks:And why can't the rest of her offsprings be natural? Ans: Because God has decided so. Any scripture to support this? Ans: Yes. Ezekiel.44:2 "Then said the LORD unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the LORD, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut". |
vooks:I am glad you praise the "gallant reformers", it means you hold their teachings as true. Permit me to notify you about their thoughts on Mary's perpetual Virginity. John Wesley, in 1749-----"I believe that He [Jesus] was made man, joining the human nature with the divine in one person; being conceived by the singular operation of the Holy Ghost, and born of the blessed Virgin Mary, who, as well after as before she brought Him forth, continued a pure and unspotted virgin." (Letter to a Roman Catholic) Huldrych Zwingli-----"I firmly believe that Mary, according to the words of the gospel as a pure Virgin brought forth for us the Son of God and in childbirth and after childbirth forever remained a pure, intact Virgin." (Zwingli Opera, Corpus Reformatorum, Berlin, 1905, v. 1, p. 424) Martin Luther-----"When Matthew says that Joseph did not know Mary carnally until she had brought forth her son, it does not follow that he knew her subsequently; on the contrary, it means that he never did know her . . . This babble . . . is without justification . . . he has neither noticed nor paid any attention to either Scripture or the common idiom." (That Jesus was Born a Jew) Martin Luther-----"Christ, our Savior, was the real and natural fruit of Mary's virginal womb . . . This was without the cooperation of a man, and she remained a virgin after that. […] Christ . . . was the only Son of Mary, and the Virgin Mary bore no children besides Him . . . I am inclined to agree with those who declare that 'brothers' really mean 'cousins' here, for Holy Writ and the Jews always call cousins brothers." (Sermons on John) Maybe the onus lies on you now, to find out why your champions, who are sola scriptura chanters, still proclaim the perpetual virginity of Mary. Then you ask yourself, when your pastor and you stopped proclaiming it and why. |
From Today's Gospel. "When the time arrived for Elizabeth to have her child she gave birth to a son. Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown his great mercy toward her, and they rejoiced with her.". LK 1:57-66 Wait! Did you hear that? "When the time arrived..." it says. There is a time for everything under the sun remember Eccl.3:1. The time for many things in our lives; we do not know, yet in this season of memories; one cannot but ruminate with nostalgia some times in our lives when we couldn't just wait for "the time" to arrive....How does the priest in his silver jubilee feel; when he recalls what he felt for the bishop the time his ordination was differed by six months? How does the mother of three in a ten year old marriage feel; when she recalls what she felt for her parents in the restrictions and sanctions during her adolescence? How does a husband of fifteen years with a loving wife feel; when he recalls what he felt some nights in school living beside a neighbor who was cohabiting? What could be going through the mind of a well earning worker; when the worker remembers the many times Christmas had met him unemployed? What does it feel like to that 39yrs old sister I know, that got wedded this season; when she recalls what she's felt for God and men in the past 18yrs or so? Ah...na wa o, some of us will definitely unconsciously begin the mea culpa as they recall the past, for in our desperation, several regrettable feelings, thoughts and actions took place. Yet, when the time arrived everything fell in place, for God makes all things beautiful in HIs time Eccl.3:11. Indeed beloved brethren, oge Chukwu ga-asuru gi ohia, o gaghi ekwe umu uwa nghota. Just like the neighbors of Elizabeth and Zachariah, your neighbors will marvel and rejoice with you. Seasons greetings to: dmandy, jamp, marksooyinmiebi, deracathy, Fembleez1, darknez,Tobetoe, Grego3, afanda, Rose2014, pamcrest, MrAladin, Hidentity, Burmak, Lordnammy, titoetal, Nomski0, wonda26, Davikk01, Livebullet, marykaydee, Polkabluedot, Tuneller, Dyla, exxell, Clemigho, Lovethywilbedon, Macelliot, Frodobee, starbuck May your cups never run dry. SalC:CHANGE!!! |
Ubenedictus:Chai...see Ubenedictus calling me old school, Ok let's wait for kamsified, she's the Pope's secretary, she fit get record. ![]() |
PastorAIO: I go die o ![]() |
Rich4god:You've said it all. |
SalC:Smh. ![]() |
paulGrundy:So that's all you could muster? Clinging on Unfounded personal opinion, in the face of solid scripture expose. Not even an attempt to prove any part wrong with same scripture. Bla bla bla, accusers of the brethren. |
SalC:It's good isn't it? |
paulGrundy:He asks what is the promise, confusing himself with Baptism and Holy Spirit, and I refer him to Gal.3:29 "And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's descendants, heirs according to promise." If you can understand what the promise is here, then you've got your answer. Ah. In your household, the youngest is 21, that's good to know. However what does that matter to another in whose household the youngest is a minute old? Nothing. Both are households. If Lydia and her household (Acts 16:15), stephanas household (1Cor.1:16), Jailer and his household (Acts16:33) could all be baptized, and the Holy Spirit never mentioned "except infants/children", the same Holy spirit that made sure to be specific in Matt.14:21 "And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children." Then who are you to manufacture that exclusion of children now? It's easy to say the scriptures I pointed you towards are quoted out of contest, don't worry, Martin Luther your father did worse, he called some "straw". |
SalC:There is an "m" on the side of "Syncan", should I have concentrated on the female lines? Eh mummy Rich4god. |
dmandy:My Oga, the joke section has got nothing on this I tell you. Clowns don't offer any more than this. ![]() DiademSh07:PastorAIO, oya let's enumerate the kinds of death possible and what may differentiate Moses own from the rest. |
DiademSh07: . Kontinu sir, enough respect! |
vooks:Ubenedictus actually told me it's about to get interesting, so when I read the above next; I just knew he is a prophet. ![]() |
babestell:May your joy know no bound. Of course dear, there's romance in the air, the Lord of the dance is caught up in it, Syncan is blown away . |
vooks:Hahahahaha, i think the truth is hitting you gradually, keep arguing with your self, but while at it, note that Today, you've heard his voice, "do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion," Heb.3:15 |
vooks:hahahahahaha, "kids big enough to come to Christ", hahahahahahaha. |
vooks:Beautiful Prayer, composed by a mind inundated by Divine light. Humbly praying that all peoples of the world may follow Christ; united in his one fold...just as Christ prayed in Jn 17:21 . Asking the help of a potent prayer of (St.Joseph)a righteous man... knowing it availeth much James 5:16. Asking for purity of heart and a fervent love for spiritual life...just as Christ wanted in Matt 5:48. What do you pray for? The condemnation of Catholics? The burning by fire of Non Christians? The possession of other people's possession? Sorry I'll rather go by that prayer, and to answer you, I just said that prayer; reading from your post. ![]() |
vooks:Does God call infants? Ans: Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" Matt.19:14 Does this not make salvation hereditary? Ans: But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many Rom.5:15 |
Ubenedictus:Yet the truth in them were hidding "from |
vooks:Why am I not surprised, your forefathers did same to Paul in Athens. "And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked:" Acts 17:32. |
vooks:Hahahahaha, do i need to school you again on this, You didn't see the part i took care to make bold right? First he addressed those he called to repentance " For the promise is unto you", and then he includes those to whom such is the kingdom of God, but who were born in sin thus "and for your Children". |
Did God include Children participation in signs of His adoption of man? Yes. God demanded it from Abraham: "And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations" Gen.17:12 Jesus said it: "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" Matt.19:14 Peter confirmed it: "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Acts 2:38. Paul acted in line: "And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying..." Acts 16:15 After the Apostles death it continued : "Baptize first the children, and if they can speak for themselves let them do so. Otherwise, let their parents or other relatives speak for them" Hyppolytus: AD 215 End Time Christians: Do not baptize infants |
From Today's Gospel. “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior. for he has looked upon his lowly servant. From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name. He has mercy on those who fear him in every generation. He has shown the strength of his arm, and has scattered the proud in their conceit. He has cast down the mighty from their thrones and has lifted up the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty. He has come to the help of his servant Israel for he remembered his promise of mercy, the promise he made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children for ever.” Lk1: 46-56. Talking about Poets, the world have not cease to marvel at the poem above. You need to take a while and absorb this, Imagine what just happened to this young maiden who thought lowly of herself, the more she goes over scripture in her heart, the more the full impact of the present situation hits her..."From this day all generations shall call me blessed". Why was she chosen, how could God have seen her..."He had looked upon His lowly servant". Therefore how great is this Lord, how majestic in glory to have scattered the bounds of the ordinary, which sees only the high and mighty..."My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord". Then she meditates on the import to God's people, the freedom from the captivity of original sin, the quench of the thirst of the Patriarchs who could not see God, the satisfying of the hunger of the just who needed the "way" and not the "Law", and all these done by the merciful heart of the one who was offended, because he had made a promise..."the promise he made to our Fathers". It makes me remember a song I loved so much, a song by a singer called Dana (from Ireland). The song goes like this: "there is no rock like my God, I find my strength in my God, I rejoice in His saving help, there is no rock like my God He is the Lord who gives night and day He takes man to his grave and back He is the Lord who gives poverty and riches He brings one low and He raise the other High" It was a song beautifully rendered with words laced in scripture especially from Hannah, of whom we read in the first reading of today (1 SAMUEL 2:1, 4-5, 6-7, 8). When the prayers of a countless sleepless nights gets answered, When the dreams of years come true, when unmerited favor come your way, when unprecedented grace falls on you, aye, when your lines fall in pleasant places (psalm15), that's when you appreciate what Mary felt. May we all experience that feeling in our lives from time to time; and testify to the goodness of God always. And when we do receive, may we remember to use what we received for His glory, just as Hannah offered up Samuel.
