Good morning.
May this week bring us open doors, favor and protection .
Please lets not forget to pray for each other.....many are passing through tough times and are loosing hope. Also lets pray for our priests.
The other day i saw a video of a priest that openly called himself a gay priest. It was disheartening.....but we trust God to keep us strong in faith .
MARANATHA
Amen to your prayers dear one. You're right in your submissions and as you can see, Italo the moderator of the novena prayers is already doing what you suggest, by spreading out the daily dedications even to those outside here, so one can safely say that the spirit is working actively. Yes, prayers for priests is very important.

Today's Gospel Reading. Mt 18:1-5,10

The disciples approached Jesus and said,“Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?” He called a child over, placed it in their midst, and said,“Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me. “See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father.”

Where did you leave your guardian angel? When was the last time you said the prayer "Angel of God, my guardian dear...." or any form of acknowledgement to the presence of your guardian angel. The one who weeps when you sin Is33:7, and rejoices when you do good Lk15:10, the quiet voice in the midst of so much noise, urging you, directing you, praying for you and with you, and could do more. Iko1 bro, Many we are who have totally neglected this companion given to us by God who loves us much. dmandy, the more our hearts focus downwards and not upwards, the more we lose touch with our guardian angels, yet yours will stand with you alone before the judgement throne. MariaGoretti dear, We are called to be like angels to one another, we are called to urge towards good, to direct, to pray for and with one another. Trendytessy, haven't you heard the phrase "God sent"? How many times has such been directed on you? Ify124, In Nigeria alone we have more than 150 million people, are you now... or have you in any way been "God sent" to one? Today be a "God sent" to someone, let God delight in you. I once read a very nice book "Under Angel Wings by Sr. Maria Antonia", it is a nice expose of what our relationship with our guardian angel should look like.

Peppyluv02, Nne as we pray with you for your mum today, may she be inundated by God's mercies, and may her joy in the Lord be permanent. Amen.

"The most important person on earth is a mother. She cannot claim the honor of having built Notre Dame Cathedral. She need not. She has built something more magnificent than any cathedral—a dwelling for an immortal soul, the tiny perfection of her baby’s body…The angels have not been blessed with such a grace. They cannot share in God’s creative miracle to bring new saints to Heaven. Only a human mother can. Mothers are closer to God the Creator than any other creature. God joins forces with mothers in performing this act of creation…What on God’s good earth is more glorious than this: to be a mother"? --Joseph Cardinal Mindszenty

While we countdown to the beginning of our Novena, I wish to share a testimony from our May devotion.

I told you that I was travelling to Lagos to meet my girlfriend's mum to ask her hand in marriage. It was one of my intentions that the Lord should grant me favour.

I was well received. The man they swore would resist (on tribal sentiments)...what did he say?

"It's okay...as long as he's a good person. Let's just follow it up with prayer."

We are about to go to marriage class.

Please continue to pray for me.
To God be the glory.

Today's Gospel LK9:57-62

As Jesus and his disciples were proceeding on their journey, someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.” Jesus answered him, “Foxes have dens and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to rest his head.” And to another he said, “Follow me.” But he replied, “Lord, let me go first and bury my father.” But he answered him, “Let the dead bury their dead. But you, go and proclaim the Kingdom of God.”
And another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but first let me say farewell to my family at home.” Jesus answered him, “No one who sets a hand to the plow and looks to what was left behind is fit for the Kingdom of God
.”

Have you ever had this feeling...like where you say to yourself "Sister ChineloSA is old already that's why she isn't ashamed to put on a scapular, when i get to her age too I'll not care about people looking at me so I can wear". Again, how many of us have had this feeling "Brother Ichiato is already married so he can afford to receive communion regularly, when I get married, nothing will hinder me again from regular communion". Cute1bliss bro, have we never differed a good act for sometime later when it is expected to be convenient to do? Emyben, today Jesus says that now is the time to do it, at whatever state you are right now, you should be at right with God. Stunningjudy, at whatever state you are now, you should do that which is right. Babestell, Each stage has it's own challenges, and for every condition in life, know that there is one(a saint) who must have experienced worse and still overcame, and may stand in judgement against you on that day if you fail to overcome. Pray for courage. Tomorrow we commence our 31days of daily rosary(5 decades/1 chaplet) devotion, what is gonna keep you from joining, When will it be favorable for you to participate? In the first reading, Nehemiah took courage and made his request to the King Neh. 2:1-8, and his request was granted "The king granted my requests, for the favoring hand of my God was upon me." May the favoring hand of our God be upon us all as we receive answers to our petitions.

Good morning brethren, a splendid day ahead to all.

Thanks bro Syncan. Nice to hear from you.

Allow me to invite our fellow Catholics.

Forgive me...let there be too many mentions...but I don't want anyone to be left out because he/she 'didn't see it.'

Two questions:

Can I moderate?

Why are we calling a 31-day devotion "novena?"
Without undermining SalC, I am sure it will be a pleasure to us that you moderate, God bless you bro.

As per the second question, see this:

"While the word novena comes from the Latin novem, meaning "nine," the term has also come to be used generically to refer to any lengthy series of prayers.
Thus, the Saint Andrew Christmas Novena is recited for more than nine days, between the Feast of St. Andrew (November 30) and Christmas."

Christianity EtcRe: A Thread For Catholics by Syncan(m):
For our October devotion/novena, We'll have to use the rosary this time around. Anyone who subscribes to saying five decades(one chaplet) of the rosary each day through the month of October, is free to choose a particular day on which the rest brethren will have a special mention of him/her in our prayers. The rosary could be said alone or in group, at once or at intervals, all one needs to do is say five decades daily through the month of October. I encourage you brethren to join in this as many have obtained by group prayer so much mercies from God. Where two or three shall gather in my name...It is good to have your name acknowledged as part of the novena if you want to participate, a look at Numbers 11:26 tells you how God acts when a list is made. Eldad and Medad though not physically present before the Tabernacle still got the anointing given to the rest, just because their names were in the list.

Our novena Prayers may take this form.

Novena prayers

O God, infinite beauty. Wretched as we are, we approach in humility your throne, with thanksgiving and petition. Thanksgiving for the numerous mercies received from you, and petition for the many needs that weigh heavily on us. Heal our Nation, and Look kindly upon our prayers, especially that of ........who we pray for today, and of mine(you may add yours), through the merits of the passion of your son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for us dearest mother Mary, as we offer you this five decades; as a bouquet of roses, with eyes filled with hope and filial love. Amen.

Most Holy Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit- I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifference whereby He is offended. And through the infinite merits of His Most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners. Amen.

May someone volunteer to moderate this novena by updating us, on who chose what date; and who we're praying for each day, the rest of us can always stand in when necessary. I choose 27th of October.

Today's Gospel. Jn 1:47-51

"Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, “Here is a true child of Israel. There is no duplicity in him.” Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree.” Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this.” And he said to him, “Amen, amen, I say to you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.” "

Here is a true child of Israel. There is no duplicity in him....Beloved, can I trust you? Are you safe with me? Are you the personality you portray here to be? Can I safely send money to Rich4god in kano to purchase original "sheda" material for clothing? When Italo is lodged in Abuja, how safe is it for SalC to visit that brother? When I send my nephew to Peppyluv02 for assistance in his academic pursuit, how sure am I that he's not gonna be extorted? We claim one thing, we do another...its just as if maintaining a single personality had become a scarce commodity, aye, even from the time of Jesus Christ, else it wouldn't have been a great deal to make that acclamation on Nathanael. Today its so scary to trust another. Betrayal upon betrayals, disappointments, despair, loss of life and all forms of negativity now trail the trust a brother has on another. God continues to be faithful, He cannot deny Himself says scripture 2Tim2:13. We should make attempt to be trustworthy, make attempt, for that's what grace needs to cooperate with. There is no need for Rich4god to go about seeking to know the prices of the fake material in anticipation of my money, for it will put him into temptation of fraud. There isn't a need at all for Italo to go and purchase a contraceptive in anticipation of SalC's visit, for it has already compromised his state of mind and removed a barrier that would have helped. There is no need for Peppyluv02 to find out from colleagues how much they made from new intakes, in anticipation of my nephew's visit, for it will ensure the presence of temptation where there hitherto was none. It's as simple as these to cooperate with available grace and be one without duplicity. Hurricanechris, the other day I listened to His Lordship Most Rev. Oliver Dashe Doeme, recount so many heroic witnessing of faith by the Christians of his maiduguri diocese, and the numerous miracles that accompany such. If I dare to attempt a quote on him, he said "The faith of the returnees (Christians) have been strengthened by the events of the last few years". Kamsified , these are people who have seen death, stared at it, touched it, for the sake of their faith and still remained strong, yet for a few nairas that one can do without, a few minute pleasure that we'll regret afterwards, we are so quick to shed one personality for another, Poor us. Jnrbayano, Lets pray, let's pray, let's pray that we may be trustworthy. Today as we celebrate the feast of the archangels, may their zeal and trustworthy nature be an inspiration to us. Jennydoris, debbie, aizenosa, francistony,Ubenedictus, God continues to be faithful and assure of His presence. Watch, but most importantly; listen please. https://www.facebook.com/staycatholic/videos/1492019390814564/?fref=nf

Oh! what could my Jesus do more,
Or what greater blessings impart,
Oh! silence my soul, and adore,
And press Him, still nearer thy heart,

'Tis here from my labors I'll rest,
Since He makes my poor heart his abode;
To Him all my cares I'll address,
And speak to the Heart of my God.

In life and in death Thou art mine,
My Saviour, I'm sealed with Thy blood;
Till eternity on me doth shine,
I'll feed on the flesh of my God.

In Jesus, triumphant, I'll live
In Jesus triumphant I'll die
The terrors of death calmly brave
In his bosom breathe out my last sigh.

O what could my Jesus do more...

I love and greet you all, beloved brethren.
