Kamsified:Chai, indomie better than syncan...this is like proving Jesus wrong by suggesting that martha chose the better one and not mary Lk10:40-42 |
bluerange:St. Patrick or Spiritans? |
Aizenosa:You're welcome, and you've been missed. |
SalC:Thanks dearie, I think he was high on his zing's soup. |
Rich4god:Hahaha, You for no beat me to it, kamsified and Ubenedictus for no escape my list too. |
btoks:God is your strength. You've been missed. |
peppyluv02:Yeah, and you've been missed. |
Rich4god:I see. Here's my take on your passage then. When we consider Rev. 21:10-14, one way of looking at it is to see the thrones as the exalted position of the apostles as foundation for the new City...the Church. Again bro, st. Paul reminds us that the saints shall Judge the world (1 Cor.6:2), Indeed he was quoting wisdom 3:8(They shall judge the nations, and have dominion over the people, and their Lord shall reign for ever) so as saints that they are, and having rejected the world to become the apostles of Christ, they take their exalted place among the saints, to Judge others. It is actually the lives they lived, the witnesses they bore, the sacrifices they made for the sake of Christ that Stands in Judgement over the lives, the lukewarmness, the denouncing of faith existing in my and your life. |
Rich4god:You don start o, which kind high jump be this for this evening? Every scripture passage is like a treasury of gems that come in different shapes and sizes, you draw out from it most times a different type of gem, How will I know what you're trying to figure bro? I will however oblige you with this little reflection. Today's Gospel MT 18:1-5, 10, 12-14 A child about 5 yrs old was carrying her younger Sister, she was actually struggling; but still held on, then an adult passed by and exclaimed "Who gave you this heavy load?". The child looked defiantly at the adult and replied "It's not a heavy load, she's my Sister"! That's the love of a child in action, love that is ignorant of the pain accompanying sacrifice. Such are the stories we tell about children, Pure heart, complete dependence on the Adult, total trust. These are some of the qualities that God wish we posses, qualities that endear us to him. For those whose heart is like that of a child, such is the kingdom of heaven. For some of us whose heart are "grown up"...doubtful, suspicious, vain, dishonest, deceitful...etc. God calls us to a retreat and a return, he never tires of calling out, like St. Monica followed her son St. Augustine to Italy, first with her eyes of prayer and supplication to God on his behalf, then with her physical presence and motherly words, so does God relentlessly seek for us when we've strayed. How happy He becomes when we turn back, look at Him and shout out upon recognizing Him for who He truly is, Our Father! God bless you. |
SalC:ehm...anything for the boys? ![]() |

Today's Gospel Matthew 16:24-28 © "Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him renounce himself and take up his cross and follow me. For anyone who wants to save his life will lose it; but anyone who loses his life for my sake will find it. What, then, will a man gain if he wins the whole world and ruins his life? Or what has a man to offer in exchange for his life"? Nnaa Meeehn, some people really took this passage very serious in this life. Heaven will be such a wonderful place oooo! You may not know why am feeling like this, but just read the following on this particular family and think about how serious they took those words. "In order to say something of the time in which I wrote this heavenly history, it must be noticed that my father, brother Francis Coronel, and my mother, sister Catharine de Arana, my parents, founded in their own house this convent of the discalced nuns of the Immaculate Conception by the command and will of God, which was declared to my mother, sister Catharine, in a special vision and revelation. This foundation took place on the octave of the Epiphany, January 13th, 1619. On the same day we took the habit, my mother and her two daughters; and my father took refuge in the order of our seraphic Father Saint Francis, in which two of his sons had already been living as religious. There he took the habit, made his profession, lived an exemplary life, and died a most holy death. My mother and myself received the veil on the day of the Purification of the Queen of heaven, on the second of February, 1620. On account of the youth of the other daughter her profession was delayed. The almighty in His sheer goodness favored our family so much, that all of us were consecrated to Him in the religious state. In the eight year of the foundation of this convent, in the twenty–fifth of my age, in the year of our Lord 1627, holy obedience imposed upon me the office of abbess, to which this day I unworthily hold. During the first ten years of the time in which I held this office, I received many commands from the Most High and from the Queen of heaven to write her holy life,..."-----Mother Mary of Agreda. marksooyinmiebi:May the Lord bless your efforts with success. Good morning brethren, a splendid day and month ahead to all. |
SalC:Thanks, I will try, just because you said so. |
SalC:Good. Then it is impossible to be always happy with everyone and be perfect. |
SalC:Are you saying Jesus Would have done better by being happy with those selling in the temple? Matt. 21. |
SalC:It is so because in the matter of perfection, lukewarmness is not allowed. Do you think differently? |
SalC:No, I did not think it's impossible because Jesus wasn't always happy with everyone, rather I think Jesus wasn't always happy with everyone because it's impossible to do so and be perfect. |
SalC:I don't think it's possible, even Jesus was not. |
SalC:hmm...Ok, lucky you to show same disposition towards everyone's story, no matter how you feel towards the story teller. |
SalC:I think I won't be honest if i say it doesn't matter. What about you? |
SalC:Do you love hearing stories from people you are not happy with? |
SalC:I been see double saint dey peep too. ![]() |
